3261  Other / Meta / Re: BitCoinTalk hidden pages on: April 11, 2015, 10:26:12 AM
When I read hidden feature I though this should be in this thread.

Something like that will be in the new software.

There's a hidden feature in the current forum that allows you to filter "unread posts since last visit" by board:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread;boards=6,37,4,1

added in OP!!!
thanks shorena!!!

you can also filter the "show unread replies to your posts" by replacing the "action=unread" with "action=unreadreplies".
like this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unreadreplies;boards=6,37,4,1

didn't think of that until someone asked  Tongue
That's actually not a hidden page. Its just a way of filtering unread replies., and this is most probably very uneasy to use because you will have to remember the code of the boards you want to filter out. So it doesn't belong to this list.

right.. i change subject...

here i want to collect all hidden pages / undocumented functionality

3264  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think mining will be profitable again ? on: April 11, 2015, 09:22:53 AM
Hello,
I really want start mining, but I know actually it's not profitable and most of the time it's a waste of money.
So I wanted to kknow if you think that the mining will be profitable again ?
If not, why there is still so much miner ?

hi MonkeyCoin11.

around the world there are a lot of different context...
first of all it is the electricity cost...
With a very low electricity cost, 5/8dollar cents for kilowatt, you can mine and gain even if the price remains low.
With a EU electricity cost, 20/30dollar cents for kilowatt, you can mine, but not in gain at this bitcoin price...

some days ago, a read this interesting analisys...

3265  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: April 10, 2015, 12:19:22 PM
hi marco!!!
can you explicit list in OP,
the valid board for signature campaign???
many thanks!

The valid boards/threads are all boards/threads that aren't listed in the excluded boards/thread bit.

...for "altcoin boards."

do you mean "Alternate cryptocurrencies" and all his child boards?
I mean

Altcoin Discussion
Announcements (Altcoins)
Mining (Altcoins)
Pools (Altcoins)
Marketplace (Altcoins)
Service Announcements (Altcoins)
Service Discussion (Altcoins)

are all disqualified???

All Alt-Currency boards. This may change end of April when a new campaign launches.

ok thanks!!!!

3268  Other / Meta / Re: How to build a BitcoinTalk.org thread bot? on: April 10, 2015, 06:34:19 AM
there is no API for that, you need to parse the HTML.

you got it!!!

i use https://htmlagilitypack.codeplex.com/
it is a VB.net C# utility pack to parte HTML.

have fun!

Remember, this forum is going bye bye in a couple months.

Don't spend too much time writing code to parse it.  Smiley

Hi vod...
I'm hearing talking about new forum since one year and more.
Hope your forecast is right.

So, its true that Cyprus sits on big gas and oil resources? The European Union has declined a parliamentarian request that Cryprus has noteworthy gas resources during the bail out discussions some time ago. They stated that it is not clear to which country the known resources belong. There are some countries which claim the resources including Turkey, Israel, Cryprus and even Lebanon.

Small money is o.k here, anything under 100k after that I would diversify my assets anyway if I had that much, not keep millions in a bank account. What is a good investment here is to buy agricultural land when the Gas boom comes in the next 4-5 years One could roi nicely from some land plots.  Smiley

You don't need to know anything, because Google knows everything. You just need to know how to use Google.

That is also knowing. Wink

below the correct link to check for viruses behind link...[ty Lauda]
but i repeat i'm searching for something like
right click on the link and choos "Scan Link" from drop down menù...

if i'm in wrong section suggest me the right one!

Can't you bookmark virustotal and when you want to scan, open it and put the link?

You can use userscript and/or bookmarklet. Here is one: https://github.com/aptonic/dropzone-user-scripts/blob/master/VirusTotal.dropzone. I haven't tested this, so I can't comment on this.

sure...

but it is to avoid select, copy&paste...

that's all...

Also it would be nice to have a visible at all times "this post has been edited" icon, if editing has taken place after more posts have been made.
Some people are really irritating with retrospective editing.

You can see it if a post is edited after 10 minutes by checking if there is a dotted line under the time post was made. If there is, hover your mouse above the line and you will see who edited it lastly and what time it was edited.

just tryied
but not work for me...
but this functionality it is avaiable just for posts not yours???

chrome 41.0.2272.118 m here.
3275  Other / Meta / Re: Do something to prevent the same user bidding an auction maliciously on: April 09, 2015, 11:04:23 AM
And what do you suggest to stop this? Anyone could do this behavior on any type of auctions - ebay etc but there's nothing that can really be done about it nor is it the staff's problem to police.

there is a little difference from bitc ointalk and ebay...
if you control 2 accounts on ebay: Ausr who is selling and Busr who is buying...
and B wins the auction.. Ausr need to pay fees, and did not sell the item!!!

so you need to pay attention to do it, if you do not want to lose money

Not really. Just cancel the auction and send a second chance offer. You could also end up winning the auction here too.

on ebay you can cancel the auction,  but with restrictions..

here a detailed how-to

a do not know virustotal...

i'm using Avira...

anf do not have this functionality.
That's a bad choice of AV. Stop going for free protection. I'm even pretty sure that this thread is off-topic.
Avira can help if it has a scanner (not sure, Avast has - not a good choice either).

You don't need to know anything, because Google knows everything. You just need to know how to use Google.

thank you Lauda!!!
Your criticisms are greatly appreciated!

Why do people always do this? Why do you make a new thread for anything before checking Google?
This was so simple to find. It took me about 3 seconds to find your result.

https://www.virustotal.com/
That's one example of how you check the URL. Also when clicking on random links like that, it is better to do it from a VM.

a do not know virustotal...

i'm using Avira...

and avira do not have this functionality.

Opening a site can't get your wallet.dat stolen. This isn't as simple as you seem to think.

i not agree...
if on onLoad event there was a script who use upload functionality, your wallet.dat can go without you see it go!!!
