3261  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: August 02, 2015, 09:33:21 AM
Bitcoin will never replace the dollar. The dollar is too cemented into culture. Bitcoin will surely be accepted more as payment when it stabilizes, but the dollar and other physical currencies have made too much of an impact to be replaced. It's a far stretch to say that any physical currency could be replaced by a cryptocurrency.

the price is not really a problem for merchants willing to accept bitcoin as form of payment. they can choose to get the bitcoin sales instantly converted to fiat. price is not an issue.
3262  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just print dollars? on: August 02, 2015, 09:29:57 AM
Grin the good point of bitcoin ... is that you can print paper money if you want : https://www.bitaddress.org

and, it's real value !  Cheesy

You're right that bitcoin can't be printed when more is needed.

You're wrong that bitcoin has real value. The value is perceived because all of us place value upon it...just as we do fiat currency.

There is no tangible thing that supports the value of bitcoin, that can prove there is value to it.

There's no Gold, no Silver, no other tangible item that exists in the world...just the promise that only so much bitcoin can every be mined and that the validity of transactions and balances are verified by the community that uses it.

bitcoin is opensource. which means anything can be changed. i don't think they will, but at some point the devs can decide to increase the coincap.
3263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take you to make 1 BTC? on: August 02, 2015, 09:25:37 AM
it took me a month, i bought a certain amount of bitcoin each week and still doing so. will continue it as long as the price allows it.
3264  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-01] Mark Karpeles now arrested on: August 01, 2015, 10:35:26 PM
I wonder when we'll have the Willy bot story officially confirmed (or denied)?

i am more curious in knowing how much much coins he still has from the mtgox theft. maybe they manage to squeeze some information about the coins out of him.
3265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to 300-315? on: August 01, 2015, 10:26:13 PM
i think it will take a month or more before we go over $300. but we need to stay above that level. so far it didn't manage to do so.
3266  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling the bottom on: August 01, 2015, 10:24:21 PM
i think the bottom is $270 can't see the bitcoin price going below that level. it will most likely bounce between $270 and $300 for quite a while.
3267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: August 01, 2015, 10:03:22 AM
currently using it to tranafer small amounts of fiat through bitcoin, and i also use it to buy stuff as servers and goods from dinodirect.
3268  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are coming up on two years since the 1200 spike, longest no-bubble run? on: August 01, 2015, 09:57:02 AM
well, people know bitcoin now, you can't expect spikes like that in a very short time anymore. traders are a bit wiser as well. they are slowly buying up coins instead of buying a huge load of coins at once causing the price to go up.
3269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we going to see $1000 again? on: August 01, 2015, 09:54:40 AM
I've been saying the last 6 months.  Anybody not accumulating as much as possible while the price is under 300 is going to regret it.

Be honest... You didn't expect to keep saying this for 6 months, did you?
Nobody expected this bear market to last so long.

why is this a bear market? current price says something. we agree to stay below the $300 level as we are not willing to buy through all the sell orders to advance higher.
3270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Prediction 2015 ฿ on: July 31, 2015, 11:01:07 PM
can it be done breaking 300$ for the end of summer

breaking $300 level is not the problem. the real challenge is staying above it. so far every attempt to do so failed. that needs to change.
3271  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-30]CCN-VISA CAUTIOUS ON THE BITCOIN BLOCK CHAIN on: July 31, 2015, 10:57:01 PM
visa and mastercard are silent bitcoin lovers, but in the media they seem to be dislikers. says enough. banks and other financial companies don't like to lose their so loved control.
3272  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: July 31, 2015, 10:52:47 PM
I buy low, wait ,after i sell with a high price
Not work,every time,but i use this method.

if you do it the right way, then it will work everytime. you just need to have patience and know what's causing the price to go down before you buy.
3273  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Decentralized BTC exchanges? on: July 31, 2015, 10:50:40 PM
Does bitshares have a way to trade btc for fiat? Or just for alts?

no fiat. at this point there aren't any decentralized exchanges that do so. not sure how convenient it would be if it was possible to do fiat trading.
3274  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: July 31, 2015, 03:58:32 PM
Almost 100 pages of HODL. Time for a present, not?

nah, i guess 50% of the people saying they are holders infact aren't. leave the rewards for if we reach at least 150 pages, not now.
3275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to 220-240? on: July 31, 2015, 03:55:37 PM
that's a bit too low. i think at the lowest we might touch very low $270 but definitely not below that. at this point the direction is uncertain for most people.
3276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Over $300 on: July 31, 2015, 10:12:37 AM
if you look at how far bitcoin is compared to 2013 and 2014, then you realize that $300 is still too low. but that won't continue. i'm sure before 2016 we'll see it stable above $300 but within a month i just can't see it happen.
3277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Down we go - sorry I was wrong on: July 31, 2015, 10:08:11 AM
I think we will hit 325 in the next 4 weeks.
Just my guess but I think selling now is a stupid move.

that's a bit too optimistic. it's currently so hard for the price to break through the $300 level and stay above it. even if we go over $300 i'm not sure for how long that will be.
3278  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: July 31, 2015, 10:05:28 AM
I think a lot of people do not benefit much with their bitcoins because mostly they do not understand the power and opportunities they get along with buying a bitcoin, there are so many opportunities out there and an average joe can earn money through bitcoins, its not rocket science. All it takes is patience, perseverance and a long term vision, ability to look at the future of your investments and adjusting smoothly with the changes.

it's not that easy as it might look. a lot people in bitcoin are extremely short therm minded. they simply aren't able to think in terms of months or years.
3279  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece Cannot Pay, Greece Will Not Pay on: July 31, 2015, 10:02:32 AM
of course greece will never be able to pay its debts. it's kinda like a drug addict. you give him a huge load of drugs, and you'll not hear anything from him for a short time, but when there is nothing left, he'll keep asking for more.
3280  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you get a Million Bitcoin suddenly? on: July 31, 2015, 09:58:30 AM
i would probably save 50% and use the other 50% to invest in bitcoin related startups. but that's now. at that point you can't think anymore when you get that much coins.
