3261  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2-Blade S7 3TH/s plus DPS800GBA PSU (FULL KIT) $240 + FREE SHIPPING on: August 20, 2017, 02:04:36 AM
I'm not super experienced with the s7 but shouldn't it be running at 4.7ish th/s?
It is missing a blade so it runs slower, hence 3 THS. The original owner sold it to me with only 2 blades so I can't send the broken one. It does come with an extra cable if you wanted to hook up a working blade though, and everything is intact including fans and the controller.

Can you take $200 if i pay for shipping and provide the UPS label?
I have a buyer already but I can do that if he backs out.

Locked, sale is in progress.
3262  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How do I buy from bitmain? on: August 20, 2017, 12:54:52 AM
You go to their site and buy the miner, pay in time and then you will get shipping confirmation and your miner if customs and everything goes right. Their twitter account, as mentioned before, is a great way to find when batches are released. Make sure you pay in time, though- this is important, as they've changed their rules slightly when people were selling L3 and D3 preorders.

cheapest price for 1080ti in my town is 1000 usd, are this still worth to buy?
or buy rx470 gb mining edition for 360 usd?  Huh Huh Huh
They're both pretty inflated prices. I'd personally go for the 470 as it is less inflated compared to the 1080Ti, which is simply at a ludicrous price. I would not consider mining at all with those prices unless your electrical cost is close to zero at this point. Where I live even most big box stores are below 300 and even $250 now.
3265  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor: Bitmain S9++ (75 Th/s, 1200w) on: August 19, 2017, 10:17:52 PM
Sounds like this scam to me;
https://foxminers.com/products/f48/

Source?

I have family that lives near the address they listed in Los Gatos, CA.

I am going to contact them to check out the address. Will report back what they find.

They have a long track record of doing absolutely nothing and being a provider of vaporware, so I think the address is simply a placeholder like many other companies that offer similar products. I don't expect much.
3266  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Reducing noise on miner on: August 19, 2017, 10:15:23 PM
S7/S9 units can be put into some ducting and made much quieter, but they are much less wide than the iBeLink. Replacing fans seems to be the most obvious solution to me as rack miners are usually going to be the loudest as rack units work well in datacenter where noise is a non issue.
3267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: August 19, 2017, 10:13:17 PM
Some recent good news - I have acquired and will soon have set up and running a CNC drill for working up heatsinks. I have another pick-and-place robot on the way, and made some design and process changes to streamline manufacture. This week I also got some additional part-time help. The end result should be manufacture won't be kicking my butt as hard as it has for the last few months.

Which means I should get some more R&D time and get back to ongoing projects. Specifically the Terminus, the USB hub, and most excitingly Bitfury projects.

I'd really like to have a bitfury miner out in time for Christmas. Worst case, the Terminus BM1384 pod is in mass production by then. It's not nearly as good as a BF pod but still better than nothing.
That would sure make a great Christmas present for all of us! Smiley Keep up the great work, I love listening about all the new happenings with the miner!
3268  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: When does the antminer s9 come out? on: August 19, 2017, 12:11:53 PM
It came out a little more than a year ago. As for when the next batches are released, it's anybody's guess. Bitmain has full control over that. Keep your eyes peeled out for them, they usually don't sell out as fast as L3+s or D3s.
3269  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Diff contest Aug 9 to Aug?.Prize a black sealed Trezor wallet. Picks are open! on: August 19, 2017, 12:10:08 PM
+5

Seems like hashrate just isn't stopping on its rise to the top, just recently saw a post on r/bitcoin about hashrate reaching the highest it's ever been at. Not sure if that is true but it seems somewhat true with the recent trends.
3270  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pantech Miners on: August 18, 2017, 03:18:20 PM
Zero news and availability for them, so I would also assume this was just some internally used miner that was never released or just extremely limited in production. It's a shame all Bitfury hardware up to this point has appeared and vanished out of thin air.
3271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 18, 2017, 03:16:32 PM
I sold my BCH on the first day I could trade it on Kraken and that was some BCH I don't regret selling. BCH could win out but I think I'll stick with BTC. I do see some good opportunities to buy some BCH with all these sudden fluctuations, though.
3272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 14, 2017, 01:19:35 PM
Seems this August we will touch 5k. Bitcoin speculation pays me higher than my Job Monthly  Cheesy , should i quit Job??
Depends how much you have in Bitcoin. Remember to invest in good cold storage methods and don't keep all your eggs in one shell. I use several paper and hardware wallets for my BTC. Price could also crash and you might lose money.
3273  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Found this miner on Craigslist for $75, good deal or junk? on: August 14, 2017, 01:17:57 PM
It's worth it for the power supply.  Most people complain about the power consumption, but if you are just playing around...you may see your electricity raise a few bucks a month.  This is more than you will mine, but keep in mind -- BTC has went from 2100 to 4200 in one month.
Bitcoin would have to go up massively in price to make mining with this machine 'profitable', and this miner is insanely inefficient. Chances are Bitcoin could go to 20k and mining with this thing would only make you a couple bucks. Not really worth it even looking long term. I'd personally strip out the PSU and try to sell it on eBay and make a few bucks.
3274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to use regular, not server psu with asics? on: August 13, 2017, 09:29:40 PM
Also remember not to buy cheapo, noname PSUs. They'll cost you more in the long run with worse efficiency and possibly frying your miner. Reviews are a good place to start, and some good brands include EVGA and Corsair.
3275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin over 4000 in Aug? on: August 13, 2017, 11:34:11 AM
Seems like SW sparked the beginning of this rise. $4000 could be here to stay but it's much more likely a correction drops us back to the mid $3000s, which is just fine for me. Bitcoin's just getting started right now, with more adoption and more features being added like Lightning we could hit $10,000 and even more in a year or two.
3276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 13, 2017, 01:46:26 AM
The correction will come eventually, surprised this has made it so far. I'll take whatever I can get, guess I'll be waking up to another ATH tomorrow Smiley We'll be at $5000 in no time soon, though there'll probably be a correction before then.
3277  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB miner on: August 12, 2017, 07:35:56 PM
The only reason people even buy these relics anymore is that they got fooled or they are just looking for a collectible like me. Some people also claim to 'learn' how to mine with these, but honestly in today's mining environment anyone with half a brain can start a miner and keep it from overheating.
3278  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: August 12, 2017, 12:48:17 PM
Is anybody still keeping his old usb block encrypters?
I have one of my block erupters still in its original case and an Antminer U1. I still remember the good old days when people had a few hundred of these things on hubs mining away, actually making something Smiley
3279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can the antminer d3 only mine dash or other X11 too? on: August 12, 2017, 01:00:41 AM
It can, but those coins are sometimes more or less profitable and most people stick to just Dash for consistency. Automatic switching pools do work if you wish, though. Most of the time those other X11 coins are less profitable due to mining naturally balancing things out.
3280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 12, 2017, 12:59:46 AM
TFW Bitcoin was just below $300 a little while back. It's been a long journey with Bitcoin and I don't think it's going to stop here. Can't belive we're up 50% in just the last 30 days according to BitcoinWisdom- and we aren't even getting incredibly widespread adoption yet!
