3261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Bitcoin Volatility due to Binance Hack ? Market Manipulation on: May 12, 2019, 07:28:14 PM
BTC has been surging in value from quite sometime in recent times and has been unfazed by the recent controversies(Tether etc) and this is completely organic growth overall.
Not really, last time bitcoin touches 7k$ was last year on September, then today. There's no even major news to get the price surge to this price, not until binance was hacked and considerably managed to cover the loss without any major decline of price, yet it goes down -300$ but it recovers just hours then keep surging til today.
Though that might be conventional that there's no connection, of what had happened from an altcoin to bitcoin but this is something not common from recent hacks Cheesy

Anyway, I just visited cmc and saw the top 10 largest exchanges' volume in 24 hours, most are unknown to me. However, I smell fishy out there.

3263  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Good wallet to store Bitcoin Cash ? on: May 12, 2019, 06:14:58 PM
It is there on site itself but could you see how many of the wallets are private key secured one.
Coinbase and some other exchange base wallets are not really needed while we are looking for high security. However, good try to share wallets.
I can only suggest the above mentioned is the electrum fork wallet for BCH https://electroncash.org/

Just verify the wallet before installing it on your device to avoid from phishing and fake wallet https://github.com/Electron-Cash/keys-n-hashes

GoTenna Partners With Blockstream Satellite to Make Using Bitcoin Without an Internet Connection Simpler

Sending bitcoin transactions without an internet connection just got a little bit easier.
This integration is part of a larger effort to make it easier for people to send offline transactions if they need to. It also makes Blockstream Satellite, which perhaps sounds more like a sci-fi project than a thing that will actually help people, a bit more useful

Pwede bang i click nalang yung link sa wallet na nakalagay na dapat mag update or sa site mismo?
Titingnan ko now, baka ma update ko na wallet ko.

I suggest na wag mag c'click ng any link from the notification window ng electrum, tho it's from the official app and the software was recently updated, mas mabuting aware kayo na yan ang gamit ng mga hackers to lure electrum users to download the fake software using malicious electrum server which stole lots of btc from its previous hacked.

So, I suggest na follow niyo yung official twitter account ng electrum at click yung notification bell para maging updated kayo sa lahat ng new related sa electrum. Also try to double check yung url where you're going to download the update it must be from official website nila or on the official github repo nila, also always verify the new downloaded app.

[snip]

Due to irregular trading on some APIs, Binance will restrict all currently existing API keys to have trading functionality only. These keys will then be removed in full at 2019/05/08 1:30 PM (UTC).

API users can choose to recreate their API keys now to receive full functionality of API usage going forward. These newly created API keys will not be removed at 1:30 PM (UTC).

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience.

Thanks for your support!

3267  Other / Meta / Re: Confused about forum avatar on: May 10, 2019, 12:11:42 PM
Those animated avatars you saw has the format of .apng or animated .png and not .gif that's why it's not against the rules related to avatar.
However, saw some threads that theymos prohibited uploading those format few weeks ago, those animated avatars are uploaded before theymos performs to disallow of those,
so you can't upload those format from now on.

[Edit] It's quoted above.

3269  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Paano kaya pag ma-hacked si Coins.Ph? on: May 10, 2019, 01:46:31 AM
Nako mahirap na kung inside job pa.
Pwede if ang gumawa is yung sa technical or even one of the devs nila, pero if I'm sure funds from hot wallets lang makkuha ng mga hackers not those sa cold storage nila, not unless if puro hot wallet gamit nila, simut lahat yan if may nangyaring hacked.

Dahil sa wala tayong magagawa to prevent the hacked of any exchange, and kahit sabihin nating not your key not your coins, traders will ignore that since di nila magagawang mag withdraw after trades and another lalo na pag day trader. Just a suggestion nalang na dont use an exchange for longer storage of your funds. Like sa coins.ph, mas mabuting gawing niyong cash out method lang, not as your only storage of funds.
3270  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Binance na hack! on: May 10, 2019, 01:27:14 AM
Lol. Btw, opinyon ko lang ito.  Grin
To prove that hackers can by pass any system, even declared or self-declared na one of the secured yung exchange's system ang binance. Also, mas malaki makkuha nila if target nila yung malaking exchange. At wala ako nakikitang possible connection na its a way of CZ to promote yung binance dex, while its main exchange (at the current time) become less popular dahil in his way of promoting his other platform.

Pero hanep, parang wala lang sa kanila, kahit pa sabihin natin na napakaprofessional nila maghandle ng issue. Hindi biro ang 40m USD, maliban na lang kung trilyonaryo ang owner.
Siguro? kase sabi sa article the amount hacked is only 2% of their BTC holdings, biruin mo 2% lang, so may 97-98% pang natitiran sa kanilang BTC which if calculated, sabihin nating 97% pa ang natitira so 97 x 7,000 (since 7,000 yung mentioned as 2%) = 679,000 BTC and it worth 4.1 billion $ tho someone correct if mali yung calculations  Cheesy. Also, di lang btc meron sila, may binance coin and some other coins, so, parang small fraction lang sa kanila yung na walang funds but it still a huge amount lalo na sa mga ordinary people na walang ganyang halaga or even 1% sa na hacked na funds.

Just wondering on whats SAFU and as i able to search its the acronym meaning of Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU).
Never thought that its an abbreviation of something, all I know it means as safe, as known phrase of cz, funds are safu.

Let this be a chilling reminder to hold your own private keys. Not your keys, not your coins.
However, traders will not absorb this reminder, but will prevent of losing huge funds, if and only if they'll do. Just don't leave coins on any exchange for a longer than the its time needed for trading.

And, justin sun want to donate, oh, wait, cover the lost funds of binance, weird.

https://twitter.com/justinsuntron/status/1125932499761225728

That's a bad news with good news but 7000 such a huge amount of BTC and according to binance it's only 2% of their holdings.
And that's only 2% of their btc holdings, not to mention they have bnb tokens and other coins.

3277  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Has Been Hacked - Lost 7,074 BTC on: May 08, 2019, 01:14:25 AM
Maybe Binance hack was an exit scam.
I would agree if the lost/hacked funds were above 50% of their total funds including hot and cold wallets, but it's merely 2% of their btc holding, regardless its bnb tokens and other coins as per mentioned on the article.
3278  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: How to send Eth to multiple wallets (Tagalog) on: May 07, 2019, 02:48:38 AM
I think may kulang sa tutorial or even sa article, it should mention if anu yung functions at gamit ng contract address for those users andn non-devs na di alam mag intindi ng codes sa mga smart contracts.
Anyway thanks for sharing.  Smiley

Mas better if pwede rin sa erc20 tokens or tokens relies on eth blockchain.

Paano pag ibang wallet like coinomi or metamask?
I don't know sa coinomi but I'm sure metamask is possible, may option naman sa mew for accessing account using metamask .
