Is there any other SHA-3 coin out there?

Yes Quark has implemented keccak SHA-3. Maxcoin is somehow a Quark clone. Both were backed by Keiser

Quark simply because it has the best maintenance cost/marketcap/infrastructure ratio

3265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Must read] Good buys and Coins to avoid on: January 28, 2014, 12:19:13 AM
This is a nice expansion of a very thoughtful bitcointalk post.  However, a key point remains what you can do with the coins.  This  is half of the equation, and an important half, but the development of things to do with the coin are important as well.  The daily 'costs' is good on the supply side, but there is still the demand side.

That said, it looks bad for the poor doges.

Thats why i'm happy i bought some Quark. It's 58th on that list and developments are going the right way.

$900 daily maintenance for a coin worth about $20 million, that's one of the best ratios

Sweet, looks legit

Will this coin be cpu or gpu mined?
Should be both.

From what I understand gpu mining is not going to give you that much of an advantage over cpu.

So when will mining be possible? After feb 1st or after the fundraiser limit has been reached after 2 months?

I don't like this, they remind me to HSBC not allowing people to withdraw: "The fiduciary members will be vested over a 12 month period and cannot divest more than ⅓ of their position per year thereafter"

1. Mining is slated to start after the completion of 2 months from 1st Feb, so the earliest date is 1st April
2. You and I are not fiduciary members. Fiduciary members in this case are the 4 founders, early stakeholders and partners, not even those that receive remuneration/bounties in ETH for being part of the project.

Alright, you mentioned gpu not much advantage over cpu, but doesn't gpu have more hash rate thus more coins that will be mined?

As surprising as it might sound from me, I might invest in Ethereum and get out before the pump phase is over. The basic idea is ingenious, I respect Vitalik very much. But until the role of Goldman Sachs hasn't been clarified I won't trust this project.

Have you read the terms ?? PEOPLE YOU MUST READ !!
All coins will be locked for one year. You won't be able to sell anything before a year AND you won't be able to sell more 1/3 of your coins per year which mean that you will never be able to sell all your coins.

In the meantime, 1000 new altcoins will be lauched.

That's like a bank refusing to let you withdraw your own money, not surprising when you consider goldman sachs employes support this

Why does my hash rate suddenly drop every 15 min? It says worker is temporary banned on cmd. I'm in the pool that op gave

I was hashing above 1000 and it suddenly dropped to 280 wtf? How to fix this

So anyone solo mining and hitting blocks with this diff.level? I'm hesitating to stay in a pool or mine solo
3275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] on: January 27, 2014, 02:20:27 AM
So how does the pay out works, im at the pool mining with 330 khash. I got 3 blocks with solo mining in 30-45 min, im in the pool that op gave, but haven't received anything, how does this work? In cmd.exe i saw to sentence with "stratum detected new block" does this mean i solved to blocks? a

when you log into the website at the pool, u go to dashboard and you can see how much ani you get.
Its everyone working together so ets say 100 people and your pc does 1% of work , u get 1% of pay. Click on transactions to see what you got each round

My balance is now 26 and 240 unconfirmed. I'm sure if i stayed mining solo i would have mined atleast 1 block being 8000+ each. Did already mine 3 block with solo, 1 hour ago

Do not edit files from winrar, winzip and such, those files only get in tmp directory, and it's not the best way.

Then where do i need to edit it? The file is cpumore.rar
3278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] on: January 27, 2014, 01:09:57 AM

Can you help me out i downloaded the wallet but can't edit minerd_anime.bat   I clicked on view file but can't edit it

Can anyone help me out. I want to join this pool http://ani.minepool.cc/index.php

Is this the correct pool|? At step 4. in getting started it says  "Create a Litecoin address to recieve payments.
Downloading the client & block chain: Download the Litecoin client from here."

Why litecoin? should i not create an anime address instead of litecoin?
