3261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 31, 2022, 06:20:28 AM
I like the outcome of the fight, though it's expected that Loma would win the fight but what we all witnessed was obviously a very entertaining fight. Loma this fight via unanimous decision, so for sure he is ready to face Haney, we can expect this big fight early next year as both fighters are really eager to fight each other.

Though Loma wasn't at his best but still we were able to witness an amazing performance which I think was enough for him to face Haney next year if things will be sorted out right like whose gonna have the bigger slice of the pie. Ortiz was a live underdog and for sure his future is bright if he continues and improve his fighting style.

Congrats Loma and bettors by the way, what was the odds for Loma winning via decision?

Loma to win by decision was 1.88 while 1.96 for KO, almost even.

Lost my bet but as i thought that Loma will KO Ortiz but the 10 month layoff may have affected his performance today but no regret, it was still a good fight for Loma.

Yes, he might have been affected by his long layoff, or it is Ortiz is that good that Loma can't executed his game plan into perfection. And as I have said, Ortiz is very big at this division, you can see the difference when they clinch. And as gamblers, sometimes we win sometimes we lost, no regrets for us.

And with that said, I'm going to lock this thread for good.

Loma winning by a tough decision against a young Ortiz.

And hopefully we might see Haney vs Loma as promised by Bob Arum next year.

3263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 31, 2022, 05:32:36 AM
Goodness gracious, Denver Nuggets are so kind that they've given the first-ever win for the Lakers. Kidding Aside.
I thought that the Nuggets would be able to catch up with the lead of the Lakers but that's it, it seems an achievement and many are happy with this win for the Lakers.
We are wishing them that this should be the motivation on them to get their next wins.
Best game of Russ so far this season with 18-8-8. A close triple-double for him.
Lebron and AD are consistent in their 6 games though AD didn't play some games due to injury.

It's good to see them getting their first victory after losing 5 straight, and the whole Crypto.com Arena is very happy to see their team win. This is what I love with the Lakers. Their fans are still happy and still excited to watch their team even though they have so much drama that's been surrounded to them.

Looks like the performance of Westbrook this game is the turning point of this game. If he plays well all-around, the Lakers have a higher chance to win and vice-versa. I watched the game on live and I saw on Coach Malone's face just when the game is ending. A face of frustration and he just put his hands up high.

True, but there were scary moments, when they were leading 13 points in the last 4 minutes, suddenly the Denver team went on a 6-0 run. They almost made it even further, but they play good defense, stopping the run when Porter missed a ill fated 3 point shot, complete airball.

And that what they needed, play good defense, pass the ball around and not choke on the last couple minutes of the game.

So finally they had their first win, good thing I didn't bet on this match, thinking of betting for the Nuggets to win by handicap. So far the fans of the Lakers team, this is a relieved seeing them getting their first win this season.
3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: October 30, 2022, 11:46:10 PM

Also, I understand your argument, however, my argument is why did he not choose Boots Ennis, Vergil Ortiz or Keith Thurman? What is the purpose of fighting Avanesyan?

Of course, because these boxers are big threats to his title he only wants a tune fight because there is a possibility that the fight will happen next year, same with the case of Spence he will not fight these three, I will be surprised if Spence will fight any of the three, he will likely choose fight that is not on his level but will poise a challenge to his skill, its really bad that they did not agree on small details, but as long as both are on the welterweight and they have their respective titles the negotiation is still open.

If Spence is also fighting someone similar to Avanesyan to avoid Ortiz, Boots Enmis or Thurman then I want an answer to the question on why Terence Crawford is going to fight Avanesyan instead of the real contenders. I reckon no one will say it because it would prove that the first argument presented is correct.

I guess Spence fighting Thurman would be a good fight to witness, we will forget our disappointment in the Crawford vs Spence fight that didn't happen. This one should is easy for Crawford, so let's see who will Spence fight, hopefully one of the names you've mentioned.

Nope, too early for Thurman to have his chance in fighting a title fight and I think he should at least get through the ranks first before he fight Spence. There's Ortiz Jr. and Ennis to start with, aside from that, Spence will just give Thurman his second defeat that is why I'm thinking that the latter should survive the ranks first before fighting the champions.
Now I'm also curious why Spence is heading to 154 lbs, he should fight Ennis or Ortiz too, so that he can prove that he is not ducking nobody. Too obvious, I reckon.

The thing with Thurman is that he is a former champion in 147 lbs, it's that he got injured, lost to Manny and then go on a long haitus already he made a comeback and win again. So it's like for promoters they have to weigh things, which one will give them more money Ortiz or Ennis who I might say doesn't have the name yet in 147 lbs, or a established name like Thurman that could sell fights if Spence wanted to fight next?

Crawford though is having a get busy fight before the end of this year, and not the fight that fans wanted, but I guess we can all understand where Crawford is coming from as the negotiations with a super fight with Spence fell off.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Estrada vs Chocolatito - Trilogy - Dec 3, 2022 on: October 30, 2022, 11:26:56 PM
Ok, it is now reported that the WBC title will be on the line here as Bam Rodriguez has vacated it. As per WBC's Sulaiman,

Quote
“It will be contested for the WBC title,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaliman informed BoxingScene.com.

https://www.boxingscene.com/estrada-chocolatito-trilogy-clash-come-with-wbc-115-pound-title-stake--170104

It's just hard to see those ABC belts having, the regular, interim, etc etc on their organization, although Estrada has the WBC ‘Franchise’ title already. And could probably cemented his status as their champion if he wins this fight.

And so this could be an added motivation for either of the two to have that title.

But obviously, regardless of what is the title in line here, this is a must watch fight as well for us.
3266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 30, 2022, 11:06:39 PM
You can when you won a huge amount
There's a discussion here of a guy who won a huge amount but added that he is quitting gambling is it really possible, anyone here have done quitting after winning a huge amount

I think I'm familiar with the thread that you are referring and as I have said there, no, it might be difficult to quit because you win big, on the contrary, as per my experience, you wanted more and so you comeback and play.

You can when you lose a huge amount
This is the most popular reason to quit have you done this only to come back

Again, I will answer base on my experience, maybe I quit like a month or so after a huge lost. But when everything settles down, and I have a capital in my hand and totally rejuvenated, then I will go back again.

You can anytime you want
Do you have the power to do it anytime that you want.

Of course, it's all in our mind, maybe if you have enough push within you, might quit for good.

You have to when you're wife tells you to
I know a lot of guys who quit gambling for good after their wives tell them to, do you know of someone, or at one time you are one of them.

Let's discuss this and thank you for participating.

What if your wife is also a gambling?  Smiley it could be a very difficult situation for you and for her to stop gambling for good.
3267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 30, 2022, 10:48:12 PM
However the case of Inoue is different, if he wins his next fight against Butler and he becomes the undisputed he will immediately get a chance to fight for a title, this is the reason Usyk and Canelo after becoming undisputed champions on their division could immediately try to get a championship on the next division, and this is key as it could save Inoue a bunch of fights to prove his worth on the next division,

Naoya Inoue already said a couple of months ago that he wants to face the current WBC and WBO super bantamweight Champion Stephen Fulton once he moved up a weight division and successfully achieved being the undisputed bantamweight champion by defeating Paul Butler.

The Japanese monster is really comfortable that he can easily adopt well to the 122 lbs environment from 118 lbs.

“At 122 pounds, I can move more, and I think I can demonstrate my strength more. I don’t know how much damage I can do to opponents who should be naturally bigger. It will be an unknown world. - Naoya Inoue

Not just Stephen Fulton, but Murodjon Akhmadaliev, the WBA and IBF  are waiting for Inoue too.

Yes, Inoue says that he is more comfortable at 122 lbs, his body could adapt easily at this new weight class as it is much easier for him to lose and diet around it.

So it will be interesting weight class once he officially move in, because Casimero is also having his baptism of fire in Super Bantamweight/Jr. Featherweight at the end of the year.
3268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 30, 2022, 10:23:43 PM
Here is the result of the Paul VS Silva fight

Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva ROUND 8 DECISION - LOST

It seems the fights really legit. man Anderson Silva seems not himself no counters and didn't last because he has gas out Anderson Silva knowing him how to fight he would never push forward in an offense to his opponent, he was the one exposing his opponent with the untouchable defense of his and then counters the counters was gone in his gameplay this is not the Anderson Silva that I know and love, or this could be the fixed fight that Paul want but surely there are some moments on the fight that Anderson Silva seems to negate clinch from Jake Paul because of his MMA background but surely this is not the same Anderson Silva I used to watch,

We can say that he still got the footwork but man his punching rhythm is not there it was uncharacteristic for me to do such things, but Jake Paul's footwork is not really furnished yet if he decided to fight a professional boxer he would surely lose, but still, the fight is not boring, I surely enjoyed it and Anderson Silva is not the same anymore so maybe he should really be retired completely,

Probably Silva had known that he won't win no matter how good his performance is since the judge will definitely favor Paul.  As a result Paul indeed won via unanimous decision but it was labeled controversial by some sports site since they had it scored in favor of Silva with Paul only taking 2 rounds (including the 8th round knock out)  You can read more about the unofficial scoring of that site in this post

Again, I haven't seen the fight but base on what I read, there is no controversial, give it to Jake Paul for beating his idol, an 47 year old wash up in Anderson, hehehe (*sarcasm*). So not sure how they score and think that Silva won the fight here.

And now he is calling Nate Diaz and then Canelo? Lol.

Nate Diaz fight will be fine I guess, two big mouth fighters and obviously this is going to be a hype fight if Nate is willing to be the next dance partner and obviously, if he wanted to have some retirement money.
3269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: October 30, 2022, 07:31:06 PM
Ideally, gambling houses should not disclose the identity of the person who won big without first asking him. Unfortunately, this is not respected always.

Those gamblers who do not want their information to be public, but the gambling houses make their names public, can go to the court of law as this is a serious offense. Gamblers can claim damages to the gambling site on this basis. Do you think gamblers should take the help of courts in this case ?

It boils down to their ToS. That's why it is very important in the beginning to read the rules of the casinos otherwise you might go in a situation like this.

If you don't want your not to be publish then ask them. But if they insists because it's on their rules then maybe you can't do anything about it even if you go to the court and sue them. Even winners in lottery are disclosed because that's what the rule states in most jurisdiction in the US.

even if it runs for 100 years now  still this game really makes gamblers to love this game (including me? there have been many years of my existence that I enjoy this game and Until now enjoying .
that's because poker games are fairer because we fight someone and even several people in one table different from other casino games where we are against a machine that may have set our losses and wins there, so that's why poker is more in demand, BTW is there a gambling site in this forum are there any freeroll poker games today?

Usually I only play texas holdem poker through the application on my cellphone and never play on gambling sites because it is difficult to find opponents there

There are poker tournaments though in this community as far as can remember, so maybe you can join the fun when they open it up again.

And it's true, it's you against someone else in the table, you have your own strategy against anyone as compare to other games which is based on pure luck. And it has grown so much in the last 20 years specially with WSOP being showed on television.

I also only played Texas Holdem, of course there are variations but this is one of the most known poker games.

And we have heard the term 'bluff' from poker itself.

Edit: This is one tournament from our community, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5310518.0 by yahoo62278 himself.
3271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin - History repeating itself on: October 30, 2022, 06:52:09 PM
I think Doge has established a blue print on how a meme coin could be big in the future.

And now that Shiba developer is just following it, and if Elon Musk join the picture then it's a win win for them and for Elon. However, for those who knows what's going on like the majority of us and the OP himself, for sure we will not take that bait and invest our money on such meme coin.

Elon has been full of s**t and clearly he is here to manipulate the prices in his favor, or for his pet crypto project to benefit his company.
3272  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 30, 2022, 05:45:47 PM
Mini bullrun?  Undecided
I think it is only a common increase, and the increase isn't so significant.
If Bitcoin price can survive above $20k throughout November, it is very possible that Bitcoin price won't drop to $18k - $19k again.
However, if there is big news about a recession in the next year, I guess Bitcoin may have a new ATL (below $17k).

On the contrary, it seems to me that Bitcoin is now finally out of the danger zone, which is a good indicator for October. It's hard for me to predict what will happen next year, but so far I see a positive trend in the current price direction. Hopefully in November the rise will continue and if bitcoin stays above 20.5k next week, we might really see a mini bull run.

It does feel like Bitcoin is out of the danger zone for now.

Possible, but still to early to say that we are 'secure' from now. For me, we should at least get to $25k-$30k before the end of the year if we wanted to be feel protected from another lower lows.

Assets have been rallying hard this week as it's starting to look like the United States might already be out of recession, signaling that the flight to safety which was being decimated by inflation might now be turning toward scooping up distressed assets.  The exceptions maybe being big tech like Amazon, Tesla, Meta, taking a massive hit in their values as investors are returning to a more normal environment.  I think a lot of money that came out of bonds was dumped into what people thought were safe stocks, and that led to the crash in some big name tech companies.

Yes, the whole crypto space have been in the upside in the last 7 days, not sure what causes it, but if the United States has indicating some positive news then maybe some of the markets as well will have a good rally. However, there is the war still in the background for the Biden administration that can really affect their economic outlook in the future. The war has been dragging us for almost a year now and entering another critical path in the last 2 months.
3273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 30, 2022, 05:16:27 PM
Another game tomorrow for the Lakers, still against the Nuggets, so we can assume that it's another massacre? I'm guessing, their losing streak will continue after this game as they have no answer on this good team, I hope I'm wrong because I want to see their cold streak end.

I do not think it will change. They are the same team and no matter how hard Lebron and Davis tried, they still cannot carry the team they had built for this season. The Lakers are hosting the Nuggets this time, but the result will not change, I think. Anthony Davis is listed as questionable because of lower back tightness. If he cannot play, I do not they can defend their home court with just Lebron, Westbrook, and the guys. They needed Davis to be there to at least have a chance to win the game. Expect the losing streak of the Lakers to 0-6.

Right, Davis will be the key if they want to take a win against the Nuggets, unfortunately, he is listed as questionable and getting injured as early as this season. And this could be a sign of things to come for them. It will still be worst and obviously they might not get to the playoffs.

Agreed lebron can't carry thos team anymore.  His supporting cast is terrible.  Austin Reaves started at the 2 the other night lol.  Even with AD on the floor it's just not enough this is one of the worst shooting teams ever put together.

He is old already. Do not expect him to carry the team. He needed the young blood to step up their game and contribute as well. Too bad that the Lakers gave away their young and talented players to get Westbrook. Look at them now, they are blooming on their new teams while the Lakers did not get into playoffs last year and probably will tank this year as well. If they have just kept their young players in their Disney Championship, they could help Lebron since they are peaking right now.

He really need some help, someone needs to step up, they give up their core after their championship run because of the bad performance. But maybe it was a mistake for them to exchange it for Westbrook. This is the first time in Lebron's career to be on the losing end, they can't afford to lose another of Lebron's season this way.
3274  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake - The Official UFC Sponsor - Doesn't accept bets on the UFC on: October 30, 2022, 10:52:43 AM
Your account has a bet retriction due to a certain rule. You should clarify this to the support and not here because this limits is already been discussed many times and the Stake doesn't control the max bet limit but rather the bookmaker sets it on each account. Probably you win too much on your game history that’s why they lower your bet limit.

Contacting there live support is the best way to settle this matter. The title is misleading too, they accept bets but with only limited amount as seen on the screenshot.

I am not asking them to resolve the matter, I already know how it works.
All I'm saying is that on Twitter and on the "High Rollers" screen you see people posting bets of 5-6 digits easily, on the same event, risking supposedly $100k or more - and here even $70 is not being accepted.

The purpose of this topic is to show this extreme difference between the two, and not to look for a resolution for a $70 unplaced bet.

Perhaps it has to do with his account, he might need to level up to a higher VIP level, so that the restrictions could be removed.

And obviously, the high rollers might just be above the Bronze, for the level up, here is a good link: https://help.stake.com/en/articles/4793501-stake-vip-program-overview
3275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 30, 2022, 10:09:25 AM
This looked like two journeymen fighting. Paul is still not even remotely close to being a legitimate contender. He called out Canelo. Maybe he is delusional enough to think that he can beat him but the only possible outcome will be a vicious and devastating knockout where he is on the losing end.

I didn't watch the fight and if he call out Canelo, then obviously, it's for the money that is going to be in the table but I doubt that Canelo is going to bite on his offer. But for the sake of arguments, we could see a similar Canelo knocking out Amir Khan, its going to be scary.

I read that he drops Silva in the last round and he won in the judges scorecard, good for him.

Maybe he will go for another retired MMA fighter next.
3276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 30, 2022, 09:44:27 AM
Ya, another rough night for Klay Thompson as the Warriors lost to the Charlotte Hornets who didn’t have LaMelo Ball or Terry Rozier (their starting backcourt). I think the Warriors just had a bad three point shooting night. Live by the 3 die by the 3. I’m sure they’ll bounce back.

As for the Hornets, I’ve heard rumors of them looking at a trade with Gordon Hayward and some others for Russell Westbrook and some picks.
To be honest, I believe that sometimes an excellent team like Warriors can have bad days, with a bad performance.

It happens, and it's normal... it doesn't rule out the Warriors' image to be an excellent team and even one of the favorites to be this season's NBA champions.

Yeah, even from the best of them, upsets do happen, maybe it was not meant for them to win against the Hornets. They just have to stomach in that defeat in OT, go to practice and move on to the next game.

I'm not surprised though if the rumors are true that they are going to trade Hayward, the team is already talent laden and it's hard to see where Gordon will fall on the rotation of the team. And I think with Gordon's injury when he was still in Boston, it might have taken some best years from his career and it looks like he become just an average player. So it make sense that his name will be in the trading discussions not just for Russell Westbrook.

Good and congrats to you, that was a bold prediction on your side and it seems that you really knew that he is going to win so you have to bet on him and win big.

But I do agree that some of us really wanted to quit gambling, however, as per my experience, whether I win big, I tend to continue to go and bet again. I guess that's our first instinct as a gambler because we tend to believed that we are still going to win and we want to have that kind of experience again. The high that gambling brought to us specially if we are winning. Not to burst the bubble, but I have a feeling that you might continue to bet if you see some fight that you think you will profit huge again, just saying.

3279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: October 30, 2022, 08:11:28 AM
I don't like a nation of sport gamblers as they would be in default debt really soon because no one would really work, all of them would have their mind in their betting.
A nation of sport gamblers will have the problem of having citizen who are mostly Irresponsible. The gambling will not affect everyone making everyone irresponsible, but it will surely have the number of irresponsible people more than the responsible. The irresponsibility is people who gamble without control, and those that will do anything just to keep getting money to gamble including involving in crime.

For a country like us, since when I have the ability to understand what gambling is, I saw a lot of problems as well. Crimes for one, and then parents becoming irresponsible like would just go and play all day without taking care of their kids. However, this is just prominent in provinces here because of the proliferation of illegal betting, underground cockfighting and others and it is being control by a group of powerful men and that they have corrupted and bribe the police and even government officials. On the other hand on the city, we have big casinos and you can see the same pattern though. Because when I go, I see a lot of gamblers who really trying their luck, just average joe who want to make it big by winning. We have a term here, "one day millionaire", and that's what their goals is. So I guess I have witnessed what a nation of not just sports gamblers, but gambling in general looks like.
3280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 30, 2022, 07:51:11 AM
I think for some it's a disappointment to see how the fight turns out to be, but yes, a win is a win and so Loma will take this one, whatever you call it. It's just interesting to see how big Ortiz is, as I have mentioned in the weigh-in, he looks drain but has a good chance to rehydrate and I think he did here. Probably there is no rehydration clause that he could easily be gaining back some fluids in his body. Ortiz might have won some early rounds but Loma took over the latter rounds for me so I don't see any robbery here.

So Haney is watching in the background and he might be the obvious fight for Loma next year.

And hopefully though, Loma should step up, let's give him the benefit of the doubt that it could be his long absence from the ring that he seems to have experience the known phenomena of ring rust.
