3281  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Beginning of mining and hardware investment. on: December 23, 2015, 05:18:01 AM
why would it use more fuel my truck has a 200 amp alternator its spinning all day anyways and 1300 watts at 12 volt is a little over 100 amps. Even when idling I gotta run the PTO so it doesn't shut off so its always making electricity. on top of the 4 giant deep cycle batteries each holding lots of juice as well.

I find it hard to believe that using the electricity is same amount of use as not using it.... I could be off on it that just seems wrong.  But either way you really don't want to run around with a miner in your truck what will you do with heat exhust? Or bringing in new air?

And biggest thing is it worth it for your employer to possibly catch you and you lose your job?  So seems like it would be not very ethical, and big chance of losing job if caught.

Something is wrong with his activity info.. ?

I have a small chance now as well.
You have an equal and Random chance .

Quote
Legendary:   Activity: the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement.
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity,
but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user.
Gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half dark blue.

Did he delete lots of posts?  That is main thing I can think of that would have brought activity down.

But to go from 1134 to 867 is a big drop.   But account is from June 25, 2011 so could have a high potential activity.
3283  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 23, 2015, 04:32:01 AM
Since this thread is slowing down a bit.  I figure I would show this "TEASER" of 7TH+ from my single Avalon.  Now you guys don't have the fastest OC Avalon anymore!  hahaha

Quoted so image shows above.

I would not count it though 10 seconds is not enough time to stabilize Smiley.  You can get really high/low at start of most miners, you have to let it stabilize before it really counts.
3284  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: December 23, 2015, 03:11:18 AM
Yes definitely Luck.  My Batch 8 using the same 220V IBM 2KW won't change in hash rate by moving to 775 or 800M.  Have to increase the voltage to see some gain like what Phillip did.

If you look at 700 it's already pushing freq compared to where older S7's were on lower freq as shown below:

3285  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Learn basics of mining on: December 23, 2015, 01:50:58 AM
You might want this to move into the mining section because most of the mining pros are in there and they might not read your topic in here.

It's fine here since really new question.  OP you need to tell us a lot more also you will have to do some research.  To ask about learning all mining... huge topic cant really teach you it all.

If your wondering on profit what is your electricity price? (after taxes and fee's, make sure to include).  Once you know that your a big step closer to knowing if profitable.  Also do you have a Import or VAT tax?
3286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't feel bad newbies - Early adopter without many Bitcoins on: December 23, 2015, 01:48:37 AM
Yeah you right, when i still newbie about bitcoin and don't know anything. i'm just doing faucet everyday and oneday i feel this is waste my time. everyone start from newbie, so don't worry for newbies Cheesy

Honestly faucet is waste of time no matter what your rank is.  Only way it is not is the ones with big referral base... I don't have that or seek that on faucets as I don't want to send people out wasting time and me get a kickback from it.

I still say take time you would use on faucet and learn a sell-able skill.  Pick something you enjoy but a few hours a day add's up pretty quick.
3287  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [Hands On] TREZOR Hardware Wallet - Notlist3d on: December 23, 2015, 01:42:52 AM
Still using it.  Did experience a firmware update on it. Very easy to do on website held both buttons as it instructed and let it update.  After you confirm fingerprint to make sure you got the valid firmware, so seems pretty safe with that.  Very easy process to do.  Below is during update:

*Moved topic so in same board as my other hardware wallet review.  I'm trying to get a discussion from others hopefully currently using this.  I'm not sure how it got to other board if it need's moved please just PM me and I'm happy to, but could not find a moved by so I was not sure.
3288  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Large Miner Hosting Center Under Construction on: December 23, 2015, 01:37:39 AM
Can you point to claim?  it should be public record if so, and be online if you truly know this. I would be interesting in seeing if true.

I think there was some issues with old place, but new sounds a lot more promising with price.  But would love to hear from anyone who had miner hosted during the move.

no I don't believe it's online and I'm not too keen on doxing myself either sorry

I just gave a fair warning and what anyone intends to do with it it's their business

I know I wish I had a warning before sending my miners to asicspace... lesson learned, nice words and pictures and low prices don't mean nothing

but if you don't trust me - understandable - there are other bad experiences in the other threads if you care to research:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1036376

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622998.msg11176711#msg11176711

etc

If you say they have a claim, it's normal to back it up.  It's not doxing... it's proof of what you claim.  To say "no I don't believe it's online and I'm not too keen on doxing myself either sorry" makes me put little belief in the suit.

It does seem some had trouble.  What I'm surprised is no one is saying anything in thread now It makes me wonder if they made it right, or if people just got tired.  We really don't know.  But I think you need to bring more then just a claim with old threads when making a accusation.  Where is current info?
3289  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer s7 stop hashing Help please - BITMAIN on: December 23, 2015, 01:29:26 AM
1) upgrade to the latest firmware.
2) Try another PSU
3) Check boards/Fans.

Hope it will help you.

How can I upgrade to latest firmware as I can't even access the machine through IP or LAN.
I have checked with several PSU as I got 22 Antminer s7 from first batch.
Fans and Boards seem to be working fine but can't access the machine as it doesn't connect to the LAN or doesn't assign the IP to access the interface.

Already sent an email to BITMAIN hope to have this solve soon

never never never never do firmware upgrades 80% of bitmaintechs  firmware upgrades were bad.

I would not even mess with updates unless there is a big security issue, or big feature addition.  It is just risk in most  cases for not much.  If it works why mess with it?

But phil is right never stop or close window during firmware update.  I have had one power issue on S3 during firmware ... and it made a brick.  Ever since then I'm very careful on updating.  I'm guessing they have you send in controller and they ship one back working.  Depends on if you have warranty still on the price.
3290  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: December 23, 2015, 01:26:32 AM
RichBC the thing is that the problem is not only S5+ related, but it's more like "Bitmain related", that's why I did post it in multiple threads where I saw discussion about  their products.

Thank you for offering to troubleshoot the problem, I really do appreciate it, but I just don't want to go over it again...I've spent like 3 months trying to resolve that issue and I'll leave it that way, don't give a sh*t about it anymore ....

I'm so pissed off with those morons that I will never EVER buy a single piece of crap they sell!!! You can't treat customers like that!

OK have it your way, it's your money. Just a pity that you chose over the last 4 Months to rely on Bitmain for support & not use this Forum and the wealth of experience that exists here to perhaps find a solution to your reduced Hash Rate....

Rich

Dont bother, not dealing with a Rational adult here. Already asked him to tone it down and already offered to help and he has pretty much just spat in my face. Not quite sure him getting banned for spamming is going to help his issue either.

We are not Bitmain, so i don't see why we're getting the hate.

@VirosaGITS
Not cool man ! Nobody spat at anyone's face as far as I understand English (although not my mother language)
I said I can't deal with it right now , I don't have time for it since I work for 12+ hrs every day! Maybe if things change a little bit - I will give it a try again!
I also politely said "thank you" to the people that offered their knowledge&experience to help me out, so I really don't see the need for such a comment .

You did spam the forum across several boards, copy pasted your wall of rage all over, and then reply with rage-induced words at a couple of replies you got to them, while replying stuff like "Its not about troubleshooting anymore, its about Bitmain sucking!!!1111".

You're posting your rant all over, to people who want to help you, when your rant has nothing to do with these people, nor are any of us related to Bitmain, this is not Bitmain's forum.

You seem to have plenty of time to reply to posts, to complain further, for someone who does not have time to reply to the inquiries of people who wish to help you.

I just don't see why you keep posting over and over, wasting your time and some other's, since you dont actually seem to want to get anything constructive done. That is why my latest replies to you has been harsh.

If you want help with the S5+, i and other's all are available to help you as time allow and i'm listening right now. But if you don't want any kind of help from users, i just don't get why you keep posting about it.
Why am I still posting ?? Because some very respected people from this community offered their help !!!
And it's way too rude just to ignore that !

Who offered help on it? And what help did they offer?

I just think it's going to be interesting on what they can help.  I think if at end of warranty you did not get it fixed... chances are sadly you are out of luck.  And I think they will be out of parts, I just don't see them having many unless you get lucky and they have a pile somewhere.
3291  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Dragon miner 250Gh module needed ? on: December 23, 2015, 01:21:58 AM
Hi All

Looking for one of these, as a few have died on me -

http://www.tuhorimada.com/products.php?product=ASIC-MODULE-250-GH%7B47%7DS-8-%2A-A1-28NM-ASIC-CHIPS-

Can not find them anywhere at a decent price !!!!!!

I did come across them cjeaply on Ali Express but been searching and NO LUCK ??

Is the above site legit or has anyone got a link for one ?

Cheers

I don't think you will find a decent price to be honest.  Only chance is if you get someone who has a lot of A1 Dragons still running and has parts, which is getting fewer and fewer.

I think at this point you will be best will be to run it without all modules, as I'm guessing profit vs buying replacement is not going to equal where it makes sense.   That site might seem decent... but appears scam.
3292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Hands On] Bitmain AntMiner S7 - Batch 8 - Notlist3d on: December 23, 2015, 01:19:31 AM
Have not got an official response on electricity usage I know some were waiting on it.  So of you measure usage it is appreciated if you put usage and PSU you used.

But it appears it is less efficient then the batch before it.   Still a more efficient miner overall but not to what some were experiencing on some batches.
3293  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to dabble before diving right in on: December 23, 2015, 01:15:33 AM
I just wanted to thank everyone for their help.  My brother called the power co. and after fees and taxes, the cost per kWh is actually much higher.  It's pretty clear from both the discussion here and with the assistance of the calculators that in our case, it would be a great way to slowly throw money away.  We will be continuing our search of a good endeavor that we can join in on together and enjoy.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out!

Everyone should do this before starting.  It sadly is a common mistake getting electricity off internet and it does not have fee's and taxes on it.  Easiest way is to get electricity bill and divide it out, you can see it with that. (works unless on a tier system where different pricing depending on usage).

But best of luck.    I'm glad it sounded like you found out before buying.
3294  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 6 Vs Antminer S7, which one you will choose? on: December 23, 2015, 01:12:19 AM
S7's lill monsters. Come July 2016 all the old asics will stop mining.

I'm not sure if 100 percent true.  Some places have such low prices of electricity they can run for a suprising amount of time.  A lot of A1's are still profitable in some China ones... I think they have yet to drop off.  Where I could not run a A1 with much/any profit.

Also we have no idea of cost on it or value of BTC.  I'm hoping BTC value goes up some between now and then but we have no idea how much, and if it will only speculation.
3295  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I join to miners ? on: December 23, 2015, 01:04:13 AM
I wouldn't do it. It's risky and monitoring your miners takes time. Even more time if something is up and you need to 'debug'.
Buying and speculating on bitcoin is way more profitable.

If you really want to mine, then there is always cloud mining...

Most miner's are actually pretty easy to install at this point, and if trouble there is a entire forum here that help for free.   So I don't see that as biggest issue.

I think electricity cost is biggest thing.  Only hope is gear sells for more in EU.  But still with that electricity rate chances are he will lose.  He would be better off with a data center hosting it.  He could save at least 1/3 of running cost if not closer to half depending on center.
3296  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Usb miners that pay more than they consume in power on: December 23, 2015, 12:58:05 AM
USB miners is like the dumbest decision you'll ever make... They profit you literally nothing, especially with the difficulty rising quickly.

Dunno, they make amazing lottery miners. They have a different purpose than let say a S5. They fill a different niche and just like any other hardware, some sticks are great (sidehack stick 8-23GH/s+) some sticks are horrible choices (nano, 400MH/s, etc whatever).

Some people just don't get it.  It's for the fun on this section of miners either fun or learning.  Chances of making money is slim off of them I think everyone know's that.   But you do it for the fun.

And yes I have much bigger miners that are for profit.  So I don't do all with no goal of profit.  But a few out there are fun especially with things like the compac group working together, we can run our compacs for very cheap for a long.. long time.  My U3's on other hand a little more costly but still fun.
3297  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 18 to Jan 1 diff thread setup picks are now OPEN!!! on: December 23, 2015, 12:54:49 AM
It really is slowing down:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    93,448,670,796
Estimated Next Difficulty:    104,584,791,627 (+11.92%)
Adjust time:    After 1368 Blocks, About 9.3 days
Hashrate(?):    719,150,921 GH/s

I really hope for under 10 this week.  I'm going to wait on guess.  But I'm hoping we see it go lower.  Price is around 436 hopefully we can get a little more gain there.
3298  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Beginning of mining and hardware investment. on: December 23, 2015, 12:51:29 AM
Ha I just thought of something. What if I ran a couple of miners in my double bunk OTR Volvo truck. The company pays for the fuel and I got all the power I want already @ 12 volt and my unlimited data plan from Verizon will cover the internet connection. That'd be all profit after equipment, ha.
Right now the truck pretty much runs 24/7 when Im in it, Monday to Friday or Saturday straight.

And serious miner uses a LOT of power.  I think you will be wasting a lot.... for a little income if that.   I can't imagine a truck being a great place to run a miner.

And if the company notices.  You lose job?  Possible really bad outcome... don't  do it.
3299  Other / Meta / Re: MY ACCOUNT stolen PEOPLE on: December 22, 2015, 05:28:57 PM
-snip-
a thread that is so long , it will take 24 hours to finish it , the question I have here is can or can not I take my account back .

If you cant proof that you owned it, no. You proof that you owned it by providing a signed message. If you have any problems understanding the guide, let me know.

It is not a quick thing since "stolen" it mean's two people claim ownership.  You will have to prove as mentioned that you own I hope you did a deal or posted btc address somewhere is best. (For others reading stake a address if you have not yet).   Look at other thread's as honest it can be a lengthy process.

But once you find that post/deal you have you will need to sign a message (look it up if you have not already), that signing proves you at least owned it at that point.  But if you can not sign any BTC address chances are it's gone forever.
