3281  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining 4 Bitcoins per Month on: April 22, 2017, 07:38:53 AM
Cloud mining in general is the worst kind of investment. Margins are fixed against you, the provider has no risk because you carry it all. Users take the loss every time there's any and it's almost guaranteed that the mining will stop being profitable through your cpntract's span so the provider can essentially run away with user funds.
3282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: April 22, 2017, 07:34:52 AM
If you are too scared to use debit card services because you think they are unreliable what you could do is open an e-bank account like the ones Leupay provides and load it with Bitcoin sales. It's nor as convenient but sure more trustworthy.

Other than that, there are reputable providers among the bitcoin debit card services. Coins bank for example have experience in the field for years now and no open accusations against them that I'm aware of.

Dear Alani123

I'm more focused on spectrocoin

I will transfer and test,

Which one are you currently using?

Many thanks for the tips.

Thanks
Almir
I would advise against using Spectrocoin with large sums of money due to the plethora of unaddressed accusations against them.  Other providers have a better track record.
3283  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: April 22, 2017, 07:33:13 AM
You can move Coinjar Swipcard up the list I will vouch for them, been using mine for almost 2 years now without a single problem.
Coinjar also has some of the best customer service I have ever had to deal with, very professional.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Actually, the accusation against CoinJar was more about the trustworthyness of its founder.

Thanks for keeping this list updated. It's really interesting to see how the most well known bitcoin debit card service rips customers off by essentially hiding fees in their BTC/FIAT rates.
3287  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-18] Bitcoin Price Keeps Above $1200 as Traders Start Fleeing Bitfininex on: April 20, 2017, 09:53:52 PM
Still it doesn't look like they're unloading their coins elsewhere. They are just buying more coins, moving them out of Bitfinex and holding, because otherwise the difference between the exchanges would be even bigger. Bad for Finex, but not much has changed in people's attitudes to Bitcoin.

Of course they are not going to unload coins at a fairly lower price elsewhere. I strongly believe that if this continues, the premium will likely be $100-$200 within this month. Only negative point to this is that when Bitfinex considers itself to be loosing too many coins (in the way that people keep cashing out), they might even put a withdrawal stop to Bitcoin as well. I just hope people can get their coins out of there before that.

What's funny is that the news comes just shortly after Bitfinex supposedly proved to be solvent again after the hack. I wonder why traders stick with exchanges proven to be unreliable.

Spectrocoin is really trustable Huh   ?

The providers in this category have been offering their services for quite some time now, but issues are reported by users from time to time.

Several users state that they're happy with Spectrocoin's card but since there are open scam accusations against their service I'm listing them In the Quarantine category which IMHO should be avoided. All services outside of Scams/Quarantine/Questionable have some integrity and are unlikely to be outright scams but you should still do some due diligence.

Bitcoin Price Keeps Above $1200 as Traders Start Fleeing Bitfinex

Digital currency exchange Kraken is adding support for wire transfers denominated in US dollars and other government-issued currencies.
The company disclosed the update in an email to customers this morning. In addition to USD support, Kraken is supporting wire transfer deposits and withdrawals in euros and British pounds. The San Francisco-based startup, founded in 2011, is launching the updated deposit feature effectively immediately, though the withdrawal upgrade won't go live until 24th April, the exchange said.

I came across a new bitcoin debit card called Paycent: https://paycent.io/ I guess you could only reserve your place for now but If they ever deliver but they are promising in the website, I doubt anyone would use any other service, I suggest you keep an eye on it Smiley
Thanks for bringong this to our attention. It does indeed looknpromising. I look forward to being able to test this service.
3291  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: April 16, 2017, 06:12:30 PM
Is the free virtual card offer available still?
I'm not in direct contact with Uquid atm, can't confirm.

Also, for those interested in anonymous cards, here's a list by cryptocompare:

https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/#/cards

It's far from complete but it could act as a reference point for a more complete list (which I don't have the time to compile right now).
3292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Value of Non-currency Cryptos on: April 16, 2017, 08:16:49 AM
For example, on ETH it is convenient to deploy your contract.
It's also very convenient for casual monetary transactions, with its confirmation times taking less than a minute for transactions and fees being low.
3293  Economy / Speculation / Re: oh Arbitrage, where art thou on: April 15, 2017, 06:44:55 PM
No fast transfers between exchanges, no good liquidity at Finex and withdrawal issues too. Not that hard to explain.
3294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have recurring dreams of holding a coin that goes to the moon on: April 15, 2017, 06:43:39 PM
Now's not the time really, especially provided that BTC has gone up with it's price spiking and rallying above all time high levels, taking alts up with it... Seeing another astronomical rise would be kinda unlikely as experiencing a widespread bullish market for alts doesn't seem too likely from here on. But who knows, you could be getting the lucky exception.
3295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Value of Non-currency Cryptos on: April 15, 2017, 06:36:14 PM
Bitcoin isn't that of a great currency either if you think about it. People and parties that accept it as payment regularly are likely to be converting it to FIAT cash because bitcoin's volatility doesn't make it that of a good tool when it comes to exchanging it for products. Other than that, the fact that trasnactions are not even close to instant and also quite expensive makes it far from ideal for use as a currency other than a value transfer protocol. Cash exceeds at small, fast transactions something bitcoin can't do.

The fact that certain cryptos are putting more effort of the underlying protocol's side isn't that bad of an idea and gives the monetary token of said crypto more value as more users partake in the network.
3296  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How safe is blockchain online wallet? on: April 15, 2017, 06:30:25 PM
Not that safe, but that really isn't the biggest issue here. Blockchain.info has bugs that have not been addressed since its inception and has been observed to be quite unresponsive at times of high demand. If you want a feature rich web wallet you should try greenaddress or if you're after simplicity but wouldn't mind compromising some features and privacy Xapo is ok also ok.

Only a node that is mining is a true full node.  The rest are just slowing down the propagation of blocks between the real full nodes.

At this point, I am convinced Roger Ver is compromised and is posting absurd shit like this to tip us off.
How can a person be compromised? Roger Ver is the #1 bitcoin idiot, only famous for becoming rich as an early bitcoiner with his buddy "the first bitcoin felon". Are you forgetting Roger's rich past with idiocy and crime? I don't know if Roger is trying to talk about SPV mining here (he's proven that he knows close to nothing about bitcoin's technical side as he doesn't even know how to transact BTC) but if that's the case, here's some actual insight by someone that knows what he's talking about.
3298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a bagholder? Which altcoins do you hold? on: April 15, 2017, 06:01:56 PM
Perhaps only a dozen or so altcoins have proven to be good long term investments. I only was a "bagholder" with ETH as it really was the only alt I treated as a buy and forget investment after buying in the ICO. I did get out of the market through the recent peak though.
3299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: a new strategy for dice (all or nothing or double or nothing!) on: April 15, 2017, 05:59:07 PM
No such thing as a strategy. Here's the thing though, with small amounts, it'd be unlikely to win anything sizeable. Going double or nothing is perhaps a good way to lose fast but hitting enough wins in a row so you can withdraw from a single faucet claim is just too unlikely.
3300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is BitFUnix and the Tether dollar USDT about to crash the Bitcoin market? on: April 15, 2017, 05:54:32 PM
Of course not. tUSD and whatever else peg are separate entities from bitcoin and the way they pave has close to no effect on bitcoin's longlivity, as well as its markets. If they were to go through a rough patch, certainly people would lose money through those trust based systems but bitcoin markets unnafected by them would survive and outlast them.
