This happened in the Nigeria Ogun State FA Cup final between Remo Stars and Ijebu United... so you will also know that Nigeria has been seen as the most corrupt country in the world.
This is not only about Nigerian Leagues, it is better to not bet on small leagues, bet on only big leagues because most manipulations are from the small leagues, not only in Nigeria but many other countries.

Only in the lower leagues, that's why most sportsbooks usually set lower limits and offer few markets for less popular leagues.
But I can see hundreds of matches played daily that were included by bookmakers. I do watch some on bet365, with the look of some matches, the field would have indicated that it is a small league match, some will not even have any crowd watching but just the players and the small stadium which is not fascinating at all.

So it's basically a mobile wallet. For crypto I will never trust a mobile device to have any wallet. Mobile devices are more vulnerable then desktop and laptops.
I beg to disagree, desktops are more vulnerable than any kind of android phones of this current security patch.. It's just a difference of good practice on how people using their device while doing their crypto stuff.

By the look of it op probably got phished which is more vulnerable in phones if you dont have any idea of what you are downloading.
Always check the sources and its main website before downloading apps especially in crypto.
They are both online wallet and they are both vulnerable, depending on the one you use more for online activities. But mobile wallets are said to be more vulnerable because you take mobile device outdoor and putting it in your pocketbwhich have more chances of being lost, being outside makes it more vulnerable. For malware attack, they can both be protected by your online anti hack or anti malware practice.

It is obvious that was a fixed match, no other comment than to investigate the match and the right punishment needs to be enforced.

talking about match-fixing, I'd like to know, have you ever bet on a match that is most likely a match that has already been set? I've personally experienced it several times, at that time I chose the more dominant team, even I had to give -3.5.
If I know a match is fixed, I do not go for it at all because we do not know if It is the dominant club that will win. Haven't you watched a match that the dominant club maybe leading at the 85th minute, later the other club suddenly become dominant, equalize and win.

I will prefer to always bet on bigger leagues like EPL, La Liga Santander, Seria A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and other top leqgies. I can also go for world cup and continental cup matches.
3284  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Keycard bypass on: July 16, 2022, 11:10:31 AM
Ledger Nano X, S Plus and S are not affected. Are there people that are still using the old type of Ledger Nano? Is Ledger still supporting those old devices? I do not think so. I will not recommend anyone to use those old devices anymore. At least, you can get yourself either the X, S or if you are NFT person,  S Plus.

You have all it takes to get all notifications that you want.

If you want merit and quote notifications, you can use the Telegram notification not.

I will not advice you to use the Telegram bot for replies notifications because the bot will notify you of each person posts, even if you are not checking the replies. This can be annoying at times.

For notification of replies under topic, scroll to the right side of the thread, at the upper or lower part, you will see notify which is beside reply that you click on if you want to reply to a topic, enable the notification there. If you have the email as active email notification on your device, you will be notified. The reason I like it is because once you do not click on it to check the reply again, you will not be notified again until you continue to check the reply.
3286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Online Gambling be Banned? on: July 15, 2022, 07:13:39 AM
Gambling can mean freedom, it can be useful and it can be as good as anything, but also can it be as bad as anything and can be a prison for some people which are addicts.

Getting the government revenue is not part of the pros for anyone, it is just part of the pros for the government. If you lose, will the government pay you anything or money? No. The government do not care much as long as they are collecting taxes from gambling industry. It is you that will care for yourself and not the government. So in respect to yourself, financial life, marital life and being a good dad or mum, gambling is not a pro or of any advantage for you but for the government.

Gambling is fun if treated appropriately by not gambling with what you can not afford to lose, by not gambling with the amount of money that can have you depression or resulting to financial or family problem. Just little amount of money to gambling is enough, we should not see gambling as a profession but as high risk.

About online gambling to be banned, I will say no, just that gambling ads should not be allowed at anywhere children are accessing, be it online or offline.
3287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 15, 2022, 12:19:44 AM
Just as many mistake gambling for trading, that's how many mistake sport betting for actual gambling.
If I can remember very well the type of gambling I was addicted to, it was football betting, I only tried tennis few times but bet more on football day to day, taking leagues in Europe, Americas (especially the south America like Brazil), Asia, Australia and even Africa like top league in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt. I have bet on in-play matches several times. All I have noticed was that football betting is gambling, there are just different types of gambling.

I was still able to know that if betting horse or dog racing, roulette and other non sport related gambling, I have high risk of losing, but I thought I could analyze if betting on football, I only realized I was deceiving myself when I have lost a lot, losing, trying to make corrections, but yet my money was only going to the gambling sites and I was losing than gaining.

If I analyze, it will be almost similar to what are on prediction sites, I analyzed based on the head-to-head, all matches they have been playing from the beginning, the last five matches played by the two clubs and the likes. But yet I lost a lot of money. On in-play, I used something like goals on target and possession but yet I lost a lot of money.

Football gambling sites are making more money even just with football, that is why you will even see many small leagues on their betting sites and the companies continue to grow.

If I was mindful of all other gambling that they are risky, thinking I can use analyses made me fall into being a football gambling addict for 5 years and some months.

I read a news about a guy that his father sold his only one plot of land just for his son to travel abroad, he travelled, earned around $12500 and returned to the country and started selling cloth, his friend introduced him to gambling and he lost all, maybe he lost to virtual bets but it was on football gambling site. He was arrested because he later become an arm robber.

All are gambling and they are risky. See little odds for big clubs and small odds because bookmakers only try to make all the profit. I am very certain about this that gambling, including football betting or other sport are all still game of luck.

Although, we can all have different opinion about this. This can be a good topic on its own, but definitely, people will choose it to also be gambling, but just telling the difference it has from virtual and other type of betting.
3288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 14, 2022, 10:42:56 PM
I don't really like calculations using tables to accumulate finances in terms of gambling. Because usually it is often done by people who are too economist in terms of spending. The struggle is still entertainment, and in this case, taking into account every time we lose I believe the defeat is much bigger than what we get.
Individual are different, we are not the same, some people can have a book to calculate their monthly income, how they will spend some and how they will save some, there is nothing bad in that, it can go beyond gambling, just that the amount of money that will be allocated on gambling will be included also also among. As for me, I am not like that though, but having this kind of calculations can help in managing finances.
3289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 14, 2022, 01:30:47 PM
Sports betting is not seen by everybody like gambling. Sports betting means an educated guess. Gambling is driven by chance.
To bet means to gamble. I am just hearing about this, what I know sport punters do say and that I do say is that it require analyses which makes it different from other type of gambling, but sport betting is beyond educated guesses, it is also driven by chances. People that gamble often can expatriate more on this. The sport gambling sites make odds in a way it will be hard for anyone that bet often to have a positive net profit, that is why the industry is growing, they are making the money from punters.

Both are not the same sometimes gambling make it worse if you bet or gamble you stand a chance to either win or lose and that is final your funds can not be recovered on like the trading, in sport trading, you can trade and make some profits or currencies in which you are trading with might lost value (depreciate) and you still have some left behind and can be liken to increase at any given time. You can trade and make instant profit but Gambling is more or less of a "Probability game" which is termed to be 1 or 0, 0 or 1. Either you lose or you win, so they quite different btw.
You are very correct, gambling make it worse, but that is for professionals, for newbies, both gambling and trading are like the same if talking about losses, only experienced traders knows the right thing to do to make profitable trades.

Are you trying to imply that  sport betting and the chances to win is borne out of a persons level of education? And also if sport betting is not regarded as gambling by some persons as you said, then why the inclusion in gambling sites.
Can you enlighten me about this.
In theory, it can be like that, but in real life, it is not. The most dominant type of gambling in my country is football, after checking prediction sites and after making your own analyses, if you gamble more, you will notice losses. There is no perfect thing than to take gambling as fun and never use the amount of money you can not afford to lose to gamble. But the fact remain that professional traders still use more money to trade, especially if they earn profit often, but they will always also still advice people to use the amount of money they can afford to lose to trade because they know it is also risky, especially for beginners, beginner traders always lose and they do not know how to manage risks.
3290  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: July 14, 2022, 01:13:43 PM
After the global epidemic that started in 2019, there were problems not only in football but also in all sports branches. However, sports branches that appealed to the audience live, such as football, were more affected.

Even if normalization begins towards the end of last season, we are getting ready to enter a season that we can call normal.
This is 2022, what effect did COVID-19 really had in gambling in 2021? The wost effect was in 2020, but the big clubs still came out good just as usual like before, before the pandemic.

In this process, especially for football, I think that the big teams lose more power in general. Because supporter support is one of the most important criteria. This season, we will have a more normal season and I think we can watch better matches. Of course, we may also be entering a more enjoyable period for betting.
Do you mean the big clubs will lose more power in this coming season or they lost more power during covid-19? Like I have said, big clubs still won as usual, Manchester City in EPL, Real Madrid in La Liga Santander, PSG in Ligie 1, Juventus was not able to win in Seria A, but not due to COVID-19 and it was still a strong club that won Seria A. Real Madrid won Champions League.
3291  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 14, 2022, 12:15:40 PM
In gambling, no matter how good you are, underdog can win a strong team, which means there are chances that the bet may go wrong way and result to lose.

Gambling is all or none, if you lose, you lose all. Please never quote to post about cashout, I have used it several times without any useful help. In trading, the market may first not favour but later favour, you may be losing before and later profit may come.

Nobody can be professional in gambling, we should not deceive ourselves. There are professionals in trading, if indicators and market are well studied and also using low leverage, trading is better.

I opned a 1x short position day before yesterday when bitcoin price was $21000, bitcoin got to $22000 and I increased the leverage to 2x, the mark price increase from $21000 to around $21500. I was losing before but the market corrected to the position I opened and I gained. I couldn't see that in gambling.

Both are very risky, but for professionals that are both gamblers and traders, they will choose trading.

I do not know much about how to sign a message using lightnings network, but if you are having your own node, you should be able to sign a message. I have not done this before, but let us find out if it is helpful for you.

As for me, I will still prefer to just use my bitcoin address to sign a message. You can use light client like electrum. You can just close the channel and sign the message with your bitcoin address.
3294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to make new all-time-highs within 24 months: Coinshares CSO on: July 13, 2022, 08:19:45 PM
24 months would take us to July 2024 which is approx May 2024. Historically we see an ATH not too long after the halving but I don’t know if 2 months after the halving is a bit too soon. I think more likely is we see an ATH in late 2024 but let’s wait & see.
That is true, I have edited the OP for correction, July 2023 is 12 months from now while 24 months from now is July 2024. I too believe that people will buy bitcoin more after halving.

The first halving was on 28 November 2012, the second halving was on 9 July 2016, the third halving was on 11 May 2020. Looking at this having period, it is almost 4 years before the next halving but not up to four years, because of that, I think 2024 halving may occur before May and it may be more than 2 months to July by that time. But I too can be wrong, it is possible that halving can even occur after during or after May 2024.

I understand your point though, the price of bitcoin still always take some months before reaching all-time-time and it can take over 2 months or more, but we do not know yet when the halving will occur.
3295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more uses to deposit. on: July 13, 2022, 05:16:35 PM

This is certainly something that the Gambling companies do have to look into since this will go long way, thus changes needs to be made, What do you think, how important this option is for you?
From the link, I saw these useful information that will point more to the question you asked:

Quote
Choice matters. Bettors expect a wide range of options for making deposits and withdrawals. Some of the options bettors want aren’t even available in the US today.

Experience is everything. Slow deposits and withdrawals are hurting the player experience. The research indicated that the withdrawal process was 10% more painful than depositing. This is probably not surprising given the checks and balances that go into the withdrawal process. However, the research showed that with minor improvements, this process can be sped up significantly. The biggest issue for players was the length of withdrawal time.

Information privacy. This is an area where the difference between frequent and casual really stood out. Casual bettors in particular were wary of sharing additional financial information to sign up. There’s an expectation around privacy and anonymity, to protect personal information.

Preferences. Different bettors have different preferences, particularly frequent vs casual bettors. There is a need for operators to meet the expectations of both early adopters and casual bettors as the industry matures. It’s imperative for operators to retain players they work hard to attract to the site, given the incredible cost of acquisition per player operators spend. Many operators in the US are finding current acquisition costs unsustainable, $1,000+ per player.

About choice, cryptocurrency can be of importance because it is easy and faster to deposit and withdraw with bitcoin, tether or any other cryptocurrency.

What I experienced was slow withdrawal. When I was using fiat to gamble, I use bet365, which I think is not a US company, on the site, deposit is within few seconds but withdrawal takes 7 days or more for wire transfer or so, the only withdrawal option for me.

About privacy, I always think that gambling sites which are centralized will still not have any option than to request for KYC as they are becoming common and known to the government of the country that they are.

3296  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin to make new all-time-highs within 24 months: Coinshares CSO on: July 13, 2022, 10:22:59 AM
We are in July now, this means that bitcoin can hit all-time-time before July 2024. Is that possible? What is your opinion about this?

Read about the news from here:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-to-make-new-all-time-highs-within-24-months-coinshares-cso

If I will have to be positive about bitcoin price, I always think that this year will only be full of bear market, that makes me still continue to think that it is possible the price of bitcoin may drop more, drop more in order to rise more in the years to come. All I am thinking is that a significant rise like that may not occur before halving, halving will be in 2024. Is it possible for bitcoin to reach all-time-time by 2023 year before bitcoin halving, or by 2024 according to Coinshares CSO analysis?
3297  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2022-07-11] Bloomberg UK - Bitcoin Is More Likely to Hit $10,000 Than $30,000 on: July 13, 2022, 10:14:05 AM
I do not have to care if bitcoin will hit $10000 or not, but I think bitcoin can not be that low. The price of bitcoin has decreased from $69000 to $20000, that is a huge drop. There is nothing bad to start using dollar cost average to invest in bitcoin. This is bear time, it is normal that some analysts will only want to create panic and overestimate just like when some analysts created fomo during bull market by saying bitcoin will hit $100k, but which actually didn't happen.
3298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 13, 2022, 10:07:22 AM
Some gamblers even have what they call a weekly or a monthly betting budget but I don't really pay that much attention to that. Sometimes I even find it funny because they tend to ignore it when they're on a losing streak.
That is the best, to have a weekly or monthly budget for gambling, but out of 100% of the weekly or monthly budget, I expect less than 5% to be for gambling while others should be for family finance and savings. Anyone that do not consider gambling as a way to make money will not find himself using more than the weekly or monthly budget. Sometimes I even use lesser than the weekly budget.

Every time I play online gambling in crypto, I don't think about how much I should lose in gambling, as long as I can be sure that the amount of money I put into the gambling platform is not big. Maybe for the big ones who are really into casino online gambling, I can say that there is a threshold limit to avoid too much loss. It seems that you still have control over money when we know we are losing at gambling.
I either. That is the problem in gambling, putting the amount they can not afford to lose, if loss is the result, the person will think about it and it can even lead to depression. I still wonder why some people just like to go through the depressed state of mind which is not helpful for the body at all, if they use the amount they can afford to lose, they will not be depressed if they lose.
3299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: July 13, 2022, 09:46:45 AM
And why OWL keeps on going up in price? Honestly their site doesn't seem to be very unique or impressive - anyone has a credible explanation who is behind the price rise of that OWL token?!
Probably because more users are using the gambling platform and they prefer to use OWL token on the gambling site. There can be ways the token is promoted on the gambling site that makes people using the gambling site to buy it. As people that are using the gambling site increase, the token market worth will also increase, thus the price as well.

If I will have to invest, what I can first consider is marketcap, I like high marketcap coin. Although, the coins or tokens by the gambling platform may not that decrease during bear market, but what tells us that such token will significantly increase during bull market? We are in the bear market with no further significant downturn, I expect people to more invest on coins like bitcoin so to take part in the bull time.

On gambling platform, I prefer to use coins like bitcoin or stable coins like USDT. I use USDT most during significant bull market and change back to bitcoin after significant bear market like this.
3300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: July 12, 2022, 03:44:58 PM
I prefer sport, especially football (soccer).

My threshold before was until I have lost all my money in bank. Later I know about cryptocurrencies and later I got a job. After leaving gambling for over a year during the time, the only way I am making money is through my job. I put less than 5% weekly income on gambling and I have fun with it.

This time, I do not think I am experiencing anything like threshold, if I lose during weekend that I only gamble, I play no more, if I win, I have another money to drink bear.
