3281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 17, 2022, 01:03:36 PM
Well, looking at their standing today. They're no longer joking as it seems that they're on a 4-0 run, while their other 2-0 from RNG looks like an easy game for them.

They'll have their last game against Gamin Gladiators today.

While the bottom 4 as of the moment and not yet official for this day are, Boom Esports, BetBoom, Talon Esports, and TSM.

Team LGD win because of getting a by default one of their former player Sommnus got a covid and we know how this man strong in the midlane and RNG right now are struggling in the match because one of their core right now is cant fight with the bracket game, still LGD gets the win for this match because we know their capability but again there's a chance that RNG can manage to win that comeback, still there are a lot of games right now and congrats to EG the bleedblue is back again.
And just another news came for RNG. 4 members have contracted covid-19 except xNova.

News: 3 more RNG players test positive for COVID-19 at TI11

As of posting this, they're having a match against EG and most of them are isolated while competing for the group stages. Anyway, congratulations to EG as they've secured upper bracket even if they still need to play for other matches.

This sucks. The manager should really be penalized heavily for not disclosing that he contracted covid and it caused a chain reaction of events that led to this. Good thing I chose EG to win the bet, although for sure bookies would nullify the result since it's a no-contest match.

Valve and the organizer should also be more strict when it comes to imposing covid rules and health restrictions. They should have multiple swab tests too. But yeah, they're skimping too much on the funds.
3282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Catholic Nuns Who Are Building a New Church With Bitcoin on: October 17, 2022, 10:54:10 AM
Of all the things laid out here in this post, this is what I am most surprised about:

  • Through generous bitcoin donations made in 2017. These donations allowed the Benedictines to build a church for the ages without the burden of debt financing.

This means that they are receiving a good amount of bitcoin on just donations alone. I never knew that at this day and age a lot of people are still believing in churches and are willing to donate to them. For me this is just another use of bitcoin and nothing much, and it doesn't surprise me anymore. Over time, more and more people will be realizing that bitcoin is accepted by a lot of people so long as you have huge amounts of it. For sure, the nuns aren't receiving what they need in spot prices for the materials and the labor, but still pretty good deal nonetheless.
3283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 16, 2022, 10:46:21 PM
Hell no! I don't even have a favorite celebrity, so I guess I can easily pass this one. I can check what others think the match, especially the professional bettors and see if their analysis makes sense and perhaps consider it before I go and lock my choice. If I can easily be swayed by someone famous enough to be caled a celebrity, I think I deserve what happens if the pick turned out to lose. There's no black magic in there, just straight up rational thinking.
3284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Usage of Blockchain technology on: October 16, 2022, 09:25:28 PM
This is actually a great use of the blockchain. I've been saying for years that it is a great tool for public ledgers because of its immutability, making it extremely difficult for other parties to tamper with the contents of the said ledger. It can also be a starting campaign to publicize government records that should be known to the public, but I think that wouldn't see the light of day.

India is a country full of technologically-inclined citizens. They can easily spearhead a lot of projects that will benefit a lot of people, and this complaints system is a start.
3285  Economy / Economics / Re: MNCs and it’s impact on developing countries. on: October 16, 2022, 08:43:59 PM
MNCs look to developing countries as their 'feeding ground' because we know that most developing countries are hungry for that product that they can flex to their peers any time they wanted to. Heck, it's even becoming a status symbol to a lot of them and I'm not sure as to why this is the case. This is happening evidently here in the Philippines wherein products from a multinational company will always be preferred more than local brands even if it's more expensive and offers less compared to its local counterpart. Lots of local businesses are affected by this economic infestation, and may even be the reason why there aren't a lot of successful local brands here that can topple the market share of its foreign counterpart.
3286  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 16, 2022, 06:10:17 PM

I think those popular gambling sites here are already regulated. To make their business even more legit, complying with the regulation is a must.

Actually, as a user, we can't really feel much of this regulation except for the KYC part. But we don't have to worry as in most cases, KYC is just for big whales. That might be annoying for these big players but for us average players, nothing to worry about as long as we are not doing something unusual.

Only ever did KYC once on a casino, and it's mostly just basic info about me that will not be dangerous to give. I agree that most of the step two or three of KYC are reserved for the winners and the deep pockets, both of which most of us do not belong to. It may be the government's way of legalizing things on the gambling industry and keeping everything in check to prevent money laundering and other sorts of nefarious stuff from happening. Though of course these platforms that handle our data should also keep it safe from shady entities, and the gov't should impose a regulation regarding data privacy and safety, too.
3287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 16, 2022, 05:14:49 PM
EG and RNG would be a 50-50 game for tomorrow, so I'll take whichever odds are good for these guys. OG and Hokori too should be an easy bet, as the boys from OG are on fire after their excellent performance earlier today even with an 11k deficit. Team Liquid v Gaimin, this one should be a 50-50 as well because of how well Seleri is drafting and how cohesive their strats are even when faced with cancer heroes. There'd be a lot more juice to be squeezed from tomorrow's event but that's all I have analyzed so far.
3288  Economy / Gambling / Re: All the truth about Crazy Time! Is Crazy Time Rigged? on: October 16, 2022, 01:33:32 PM
These games are often audited and are reviewed too for anomalies and the likes, so most probably you just experienced an extremely bad streak in the game. It's not really surprising that this happened to you given how random the game is even if it's a live game. Also, Evolution is known on the gambling industry as one of the top live games provider, and so far similar doubts and thoughts have been raised over the years against them but none had succeeded in proving their suspicions.
3289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPI and Inflation rate discussion on: October 15, 2022, 07:43:08 PM
I'm suprised that Bitcoin price is still not dumping hard despite the consecutive inflation rate bad news. I believe there are whales that buying this dip.

It's because most of the holders of bitcoin have the money and the means to carry on with their finances without having to sell their bitcoins for a quick buck. If bitcoin holders were also affected hard by the inflation, for sure you'll see the price rapidly going down but that's not the case. You still have a lot of people on the buying side somewhat providing balance after each heavy sells.

But we all know inflation is a creeping beast, and it will slowly get on to bitcoin in the next coming months if it continued at this pace—which I think it will since the dollar is still getting stronger by the day and a lot of economies are being affected badly.
3290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 15, 2022, 06:14:00 PM
I've changed my entire sleeping schedule for this weekend to watch Dota 2 TI games and so far only great games but a few mistakes from production PGL but I'm sure the guys will sort them out.

Strongest team after day 1 in my opinion are : EG <3 , Secret ( Secretober hehe ) , RNG , OG and Hokori who are playing insanely good! Shocked

Finally Bulba decided to expand the hero pool of Abed not limited to spirit bros anymore. Actually this is the real EG because they have a pretty strong players individually and there only weakness are being out drafted many times on there previous tournaments. They master there current meta while there players still strong so this is the result of there patience for so many years of silence and frustration.  Cheesy

With the hate that Bulba has been receiving throughout the years because of his insistence to pick the Spirits on Abed, I think he finally gave in. Abed has lots of talent in a lot of heroes but he cannot show it through an official pro match because his options were always limited by Bulba. Well to be fair, over the past couple of years, the Spirits were the best midlaners due to their versatility and their mobility. But that isn't always the name of the game, and it's obvious that it's not always working out.

LGD is the upsetting team on this TI tournament. I believe they start weak this time and not there usual style on international competition.

Or they just don't want to give their all in the opening matches. Lost 2 bets on them today but I think XinQiu needs to wash his face once more Cheesy But yeah, day 2 and hopefully they bounce back and be stronger than what they showed in Day 1.
3291  Economy / Economics / Re: Running a successful business in most developing countries on: October 15, 2022, 05:40:27 PM
My printing services didn't offer the cheapest out there but people back then choose us over our competition. We offered fast and high-quality prints that other shops cannot replicate. We only had 4 computers and 4 printers running 12 hours a day, with regular maintenance every other day to make sure that the ink level on the printers, plus the dust build-up on the units is well taken cared for. I didn't spend a fortune opening up that business, but it gave me a lot of experience (and money) for 2 years straight, before we had to close shop due to the pandemic. If that shop is still up today, I'm pretty sure it will do well because we just did everything well, even if our prices our quite higher than the competition. Why waste a lot in promotion if your product/service couldn't live up to its claimed standard anyway?
3292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 15, 2022, 03:56:53 PM
There is no reason for me stop gambling after a win, mostly because the amount of money I'm putting in is somewhat negligible to me and I'm just doing it to have fun and not make serious bank. If my finances weren't straight at all and I'm in deep trouble, I wouldn't really risk any of my money in gambling because I know that the chances of me winning is very slim.

If it's a huge amount, say more than $1000 then I'd definitely stop right there and cash it out. I'll return next week on my gambling habits but certainly not there to chase some wins, but just to have fun once more.
3293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 15, 2022, 05:10:34 AM
Called it last minute. OG @ -0.5 is a gem. True, BOOM Esports is one hell of a team but I haven't really watched them win a long, dragged-out fight. That Naga farming so fast whilst his teammates were being battered by the snowball from BOOM seemed like game 2 was over, but all they needed was a good song and a good pick off and they just win the game. 15k net worth transfer in just one fight. OG is DISCIPLINED this starting game especially Ammar who never got caught loads of times by getting greedy on the map.

2-0, I also stole the draw in Liquid v RNG. So far so good!
3294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It An Easy Transition From Gamer To Gambler In Casino. on: October 14, 2022, 11:59:30 PM
Maybe that user is spending things in games like doing a gacha game which in fact can be treated as gambling if the desired items inside the gacha were unable to get. The items inside the gacha is not guaranteed and RNG will be applied. There are cases in online games where even after spending lots of money, still they can't their target items on gacha.
Well, on today most online games, spending things is common. You can buy items, game currencies, etc. these games are also addicting but i won't considered them as gambling. Although gacha, claw machines are considered as gambling by others and its true coz you can only play it after you spend like gambling for depositing.
But one thing not all games are gambling, unlike OP is saying.

Gacha is commonly embedded on a lot of online games nowadays that it's becoming a tiresome thing. Back then you can buy high-class weapons without worrying about getting a shit item because of the lootbox system. It's like the entire online gaming industry is slowly turning towards a gacha-based item shop mixed with lots of microtransactions. Sounds insanely unreal but it's the direction we're heading right now unfortunately, so you can somewhat consider online games as gambling, as you're betting that you'll not get shit items from the loot box.
3295  Economy / Economics / Re: Uber Doordash plunge after regulation proposal change to worker classification on: October 14, 2022, 11:41:37 PM
This will just mean that less and less people looking for Uber and the likes as a side job would be tempted to apply. The pay that they are receiving from doing such tasks is very minimal, though still crucial to supplement whatever profit/salary they may have monthly because of the rising prices. If this regulation is to be implemented, it's possible that Uber and the likes would just resort to full time employment because of the added cost on their shoulders. Not good at all, though from the safety perspective I can see why they want to pass this regulation. Perhaps it could be made more flexible, but you know how the regulators roll.
3296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New metaverse city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on: October 14, 2022, 08:17:15 PM
Any city can claim that they are the center of a new technological advancement but not actually be the best at it. Just like Zuckerberg's own version of metaverse who turns out as bad as it is. Say, their application and implementation of the tech turned out flawless, would it even be within reach of us mere mortals anyway? Or would it only be available to the elites whose social status is extremely high and whose pockets are so deep they can do anything that they want. If we won't be able to get a taste of this experience, what's the point of them being the metaverse city at all?
3297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 14, 2022, 03:37:15 PM
It is finally here, T1 starts tonight for me and it is time to take some money away from the bookies.

As usual I will probably target underdogs in the beginning and then shift my focus more towards favorits as the competition is coming to an end.

Looking at BetBoom +1.5, Boom +1.5 and draw in Team Liquid - RNG match from thise early starts.

I like the BetBoom option, full confidence on their roster plus their recent pubs are so cool to see, especially the Visage offlane from Notice. Team Liquid - RNG, I would just bet per map on first bloods and f10k. RNG is highly unpredictable, and we may even pick their on-point version for this matchup and that's what most bettors don't want to see since a lot are heavily leaning on Team Liquid to win.
3298  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 13, 2022, 11:58:21 PM
Government makes lots of money from taxes generated from casinos and that will make most governments reluctant on digging down casinos that is why there seems to be a free market that allows regulations to check underage gambling aside from that, most countries have flexible casino regulations.

This is what's currently happening in the Philippines. A lot of lawmakers are defending the POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) platforms because they insist that it generates billions upon billions of tax revenues for the gov't. If numbers alone would be the main point of the argument, it's really a beneficial thing. The problem is, the proceeds of these tax revenues weren't anywhere to be found, and each fiscal year since they allowed these gambling operators in the land, we sunk deeper in debt when the said activity is meant to offset that.

In the end, it's the misuse of funds, taking advantage of the fragility of the gambling industry, and the crooked officials which will take down gambling. They never allowed POGOs to operate 100%, just took advantage onsome clauses and loopholes that temporarily allowed their operation.
3299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Back To Promoting Doge as a Payment Method for New Cologne on: October 13, 2022, 10:59:55 PM
And people are still falling for it  Grin How many times do people like Elon Musk need to do this thing before people realize they are being made a fool by someone whom they hold in high regard? I think at this point, Elon is just making fun of his followers and trying to make a point ALL THE WHILE making money on the side due to the gullibility of the same people.

At this point, people jumping the bandwagon of whatever Elon created are mindless followers but whatever.

So this is it, ladies and gentlemen, the groupings are here. OG and LGD are in the same group A while Team Spirit and Entity are in group B.

OG, PSG.LGD, Boom Esport, EG and Betboom are the powerhouse and top team of each respective regions. Its going to be a tough matchup on this group and not to mention that we have RNG and Team Liquid to spice things up on this group as well. Thats it though, I probably going to watch only group A I think lol, its going to be super tense starting from day 1

This is the powerhouse groups IMO. We will see a lot of crazy fights and a lot of good Dota on the first day just because of this. I'm expecting a lot from Betboom and PSG. I just miss their synchronized team fights and how well they divide and conquer the map. For OG, I'm just waiting for Ammar's antics and how playful he can be even while their enemy team is taking the lead. Whoever arranged this groups must be thanked to the bits for a good opening to TI11.
