3281  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2015 Bitcoin Debit Card Reviews on: April 24, 2015, 03:47:51 PM

We are pleased to report that the WageCan site is working fine now and we have one of their bitcoin debit cards on order. Looking forward to posting a user report when received. WageCan is considerably more user friendly to work with than ANX.
3282  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ANX working against the spirit of Bitcoin on: April 24, 2015, 03:35:03 PM
With much excitement I signed up for the ANX debit card, ordering the max of 10 cards, and paying nearly 300 USD, plus loading my cards and express mail verification.  I had to wait 3 months to apply as I need to switch power bills in my name.

I hold a USA passport but have permanent residency in Ecuador, meaning I have life time residency, government issued ID, and legal this is my tax residency, and KYC residency.

WARNING to all getting excited about ANX, ANX will refuse you without giving any reason at all and you may lose your money for your printed cards. I provided 3 photo IDs, me holding all of these IDs and a power bill from the government power company.  I paid over 500 USD, and I still have not received back my money.  I am here at the house waiting for an express verification that may never come.

I received the following:

"Thank you for submitting the verification documents again. Kindly note that we received all your verification documents as many as you described.
Unfortunately in this instance our external KYC vendor has not approved your application. The vendor does not disclose specific details as to why a verification request is rejected.
Our sincerest apologies but we can not proceed further with your verification request.
Apologies that we can not be more helpful.
Keith
Customer Support Team"

Ok bitcoin community, its not us, its  "our external KYC vendor" that is screwing you.

We are refusing you without reason, or refund is the jest of it.  Does this sound like what we as the bitcoin community should accept from our providers?  I would expect a bank to refuse without cause.  Bitcoins are about being transparent. For example, you have been denied because you are american, at least that I can understand, and I know not to refer USA passport holders to ANX.

I have no criminal record and good credit.  Is it the color of my skin? Is it my country?  They dont say, is this what we should expect from our bitcoin providers?

We need to stand up together and make sure companies like ANX cannot do stuff like this.  ANX has the right to refuse, but they most certainly should give a reason, and not pass the buck onto "external providers".

I am in contact with the local bitcoin community, both in Chili, peru and Ecuador to see what can be done to make sure our block isnt discriminated in this fashion, and ANX will be brought up in a public forum of my bitcoin peers.  I will state my name and not pass the buck on to external providers.

In the mean time use cation when applying for cards from them, as you may lose hours of your time.  I am not going to go as far as calling them a scam at this point, but I am certainly out 500 USD that has not yet been refunded and it appears cards are in the mail.

In the very least I am owed 500 USD and an explanation of why I have been refused.

Anyone who was rejected by ANX when applying for a bitcoin debit card should apply for the WageCan card instead, their approval process is much less complicated and you will most likely be approved.

Anyone here try the WageCan debit card yet?

This podcast gave it a positive review (35:25):

https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/uncoinventional-bitcoin-bus-tour-day-2-3-and-4-conference-recap-bus-lessons-and-wagecan-use

And one here:

https://www.facebook.com/notes/盧翱/finally-got-the-wagecan-bitcoin-debit-card/10206497572182525

One negative is the website says it takes 1 business day to charge the card once BTC are sent in.
I think it would be better (less risky) to be able to hold btc on your phone and wait to charge the debit card until right before using it for a purchase.

We have been trying! But the WageCan site appears to be broken and we keep getting error messages trying to log in. Tried different browsers to no effect.

Surely you guys already figured this out... but sharing anyway for posterity. cross posting from GH...

In reference to GH user Processor,

Unless someone can vouch for this guy or otherwise produce evidence of the true motivation here, I'd advise not inputting any information into the website located at gawlawsuit[dot]com

This has shady written all over it and sounds like a reconnaissance mission to me.

Spread the word guys. As much as I'd like to see a collaborated effort, one scam won't end another. (example: ZenCloud converting over to PayBase)

Anyone interested in something like this should be talking to @Allen1980s. He's a trusted member of the community and already has the ball rolling with a lot of fire power.

N.B. Allen1980s posts mainly at the GetHashing Forum. His username here is Allens1980. Information on the potential lawsuit can be read at Probing a Lawsuit Against GAWminers et al.

good news for those who bought hashlets and cashtakers with credit cards Smiley

> I just called my CC co to check on this. I haven't filed a claim yet but when I mentioned GAW they said, oh OK time limit will not apply due to investigation and that they are
> already processing over 1500 chargeback requests for GAW.
> since no product was actually "delivered" virtually all can be refunded

There is a guide on how to properly start a chargeback for Hashlets at https://forum.gethashing.com/t/gaw-legal-credit-and-consumer-protection-rights-thread/2878

And what about nexusmining.com
The price appears acceptable, there are no indications of the fees on their site. You don't know how much they'll charge you after you sign up and they intentionally try to evade this aspect.

They also claim to be Bitcoin Foundation Silver members, they are not any kind of members, and there is no Silver membership at the moment.

I am trying to choose something right now, but a bit scared actually.
You should be, you and everyone else keeps googling for scams to get burned on. Simply browsing this forum for the companies will reveal their capacity of providing their promised services.

At the moment only the S5 market purchased shares on HashNest are the most profitable and certain options.

is there a reliable cloud mining service mining altcoins and instantly converting them to btc?

No man, nothing out there is reliable.
And especially not at these cryptocurrency prices at the moment.

I do not think there is a single one operational. Does Zeus still offer their overpriced service? Genesis Mining has shut down their scrypt operation.

ZeusHash just partnered with HalleyChina and are offering SHA-256 hosted mining for $0.299/GH/s. Actually a better price per GH/s than Hashnest S5 but daily maintenance is higher.

Hello all,

Sorry to interrupt all the fun.

I am currently working through the charge back option (Hashlets) and was wondering if anyone has a link to the archived TOS/Product advertisements already assembled for this purpose.

 Thank you and it's appreciated.

 Now back to the fun...

I wish you good luck on recovery. This is interesting, if charge backs are still an option please post with your results to help others.

Did he post those "strictly confidential" emails before coinfire did?

Coinfire posted first.
