3281  Other / Meta / Re: Scams vs Spam on: April 04, 2018, 10:31:17 PM
I can think of a few easy ways right now like why are we even allowing newbies to post in the lending section? At least they shouldn't be able to start threads, most of them are scams and while there are definitely members stopping them like vod and others I still find it weird that everyone cares so much about spam and not enough about scams.

No thanks, I've gotten decent profit off of loans to people like max2607 who offer valid altcoin collateral that covers all of their loan. Newbies looking for a loan are usually scammers, but not always. I'd hate to lose the legitimate loan requests just because someone was stupid enough to lend to a very new account without any collateral.

There are a lot of people fighting scams too, and restricting those with negative trust from opening marketplace threads doesn't really help; they'll just switch to a new account. You don't hear about the scammers very often because scamming someone is black and white, unlike spamming/merit farming. If you're scammed; you don't trust that user. I doubt scammers will bother asking people to reconsider

Congratulation to bustadice.com for good gambling site ever, I was thinking before bustadice it's worth to getting that  Wink Wink,

I'm proud to be a part from your signature campaign and my gambling site when I feel bored in my life Grin.

Very impressive 561 bits wagered ($4 USD!) that you have on your main gambling site  Tongue

wtf 561 bit? it seemed a huge amount for her  Grin . I suggest you never try to gamble if you do not understand it because it will be the beginning of your nightmare
But that amount is not a big amount to lose so he may try his luck once and he also part of bustadice signature campaign so he will receive weekly rewards too so just try it if he is lucky then he will earn lot. Cheesy

it is depends on the person some are loosing huge amount of bitcoin but for them it is a small amount , some like him he lose 561 bits small amount , maybe he gamble and trying to have a profit with that small amount , it is very impossible with that amount to last and have a good profit .

He didn't even lose 561 bits, if you read my post, you'd see that it's 561 bits wagered. He has a whopping 21 bits lost, so if you could do a basic fact check (I linked to his account!) before signature spamming posting, that would be great.

Investors are now positive again!  Cheesy

The coin must be tradeable on Binance for this to occur.

Just curious why does the coin need to be tradable on Binance; ie you're looking for coins that are tradable on Poloniex, Bittrex or Binance but will only liquidate the collateral on Binance?

I trust Binance the most, and have the highest limits there. I only have 0.4BTC daily withdraw on Bittrex and $2000 USD on Poloniex last I checked. It's the most convenient for me, and I doubt there are any coins that aren't on Binance but are on Poloniex/Bittrex anyway. Those limits might not be an issue for a small loan, but if someone is borrowing 2 BTC or something, I wouldn't be able to easily liquidate on request. If someone defaults, I'm fine waiting a few days my coins. I've also had dumb issues with Bittrex in the past, they decided to lock my account for whatever reason and it was a pain to deal with.

-snip-
I cancel this loan request as i got payment from my work faster than expected. Thanks for replying and good luck with your service.

Thanks for keeping me updated.

3288  Economy / Gambling / Re: NitroDice.com - Welcome to the new era of DICE GAMING! on: April 02, 2018, 10:14:49 PM
Your house edge is actually much higher than 0.5%, probably more in the range of 1.5%. It's kinda misleading, given that you charge a 1% withdraw fee ontop of what I assume would be the normal miners fee. While this is not a direct house edge on each bet, it gives you a large edge. This kind of game would be good without a regular house edge, but combining both gives the player a very bad expected value. Stay away, unless you like losing.

Also, what kind of VPS costs $70 for an entire month? Even if you need to manually set it up, that's still overpriced.

DarkStar's Lending Service
The borrower friendly lending service

I'm aiming to run a more transparent and fairer lending service that is borrower friendly with more reasonable terms. I am relaunching as I feel that the lending section needs more competition again for no collateral loans.

No Collateral Loans
The information below this header only applies to loans that are not covered by collateral.

Currencies:
Loans in BTC and USDT (over the TRX network) are available.

Interest:
The below interest rates are daily rates, and interest is calculated as simple interest. The minimum interest is 0.3 mBTC (0.0003BTC) and $10 USDT respectively. Rates for new loans are subject to change. However, existing loans will be unaffected or given the lowest rate (if applicable).

 |  Loan Type  |  Interest Rate  |
 |  Bitcoin  |  0.117% Daily (3.51% monthly)  |
 |  USDT (TRC20)  |  0.167% Daily (5.01% monthly)  |

Terms:
1. No collateral is required for loans. If you have valid collateral, please see the second post in this thread for better rates.
2. You must have a minimum of 25 earned merit to apply for a loan. I delete all applications that do not meet the bare minimum requirements.
3. I reserve the right to deny any loan for any reason without explanation.
4. There is a soft maximum loan term of 3 months. Please let me know if you're looking for a loan over a longer time period and we can discuss further.
5. A one time fee of 2% of the loan principal will be charged if more than a month has passed after borrower's estimated loan duration and the borrower did not inform me of the delay. This fee is charged in addition to normal interest, and no fee (besides normal interest) will apply if I am informed of the delay.
6. I may or may not leave positive/neutral trust feedback after a loan is repaid. Do not borrow from me expecting to get positive trust.
7. A signed message is required for a no collateral loan.
8. The spreadsheet with loan repayment amounts may be incorrect for whatever reason and is only meant to serve as an aid for the borrower. I try to ensure the accuracy but bugs and errors can happen. If the spreadsheet is found to be incorrect, you will be reimbursed any extra paid or be expected to make up the difference if you underpaid.
10. I reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. New terms will apply to new loans only.

You can view the information on all loans as well as the auto updating repayment amount in the spreadsheet here.

3294  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Newegg (Canada) accepting Bitcoin on: April 02, 2018, 04:05:36 AM
Its really odd indeed; Probably Newegg is using them to accumulate bitcoins. And moreover, they might have lost some of their customers when they took the break from implementing bitcoin payment, more reasons why they came back.

i seriously doubt anywhere like that is accumulating bitcoin. they're a razor thin margin business who buy every single thing in from places that'll demand settlement in USD. removing that USD from the payment chain would require them to be paying out huge amounts from their own pocket.

the places that might be able to afford it are businesses that craft stuff from scratch themselves. everyone else is a slave to their supply chain.

I can't imagine their Bitcoin volume to be that high, and I'm guessing a large percentage comes from miners who need GPUs (maybe not with the recent crash though). With the crazy markup on GPUs, they'd be able to profit quite a bit. Overstock saves up a portion of their BTC as well, and they seem to do fine. USD does make more sense though, I assume their US suppliers want USD so this is just a way to gain some USD.

They used to accept Bitcoin in the past, but stopped due to Bitpay having issues with Canadian banks. Nice to see that it's back, though it would have been nice to pay with BTC for my new build when it was 20k+ CAD.
Well, yet, its still a good thing to see they are still accepting it despite all the issues with the banks and FUDs going on now.  I bet the banks must have thought that after the issues have been resolved, Newegg will have a change of mind  Grin. I must say the Canadian are really open minded on some issues regarding cryptocurrency, here they are not. Newegg is really one of my favorite site; its quite unfortunate I can't purchase with bitcon over here with it.

Where do you live? Newegg USA has accepted Bitcoin via Bitpay for multiple years now, and as far as I know, they are only present in Canada and USA. I suppose you could be talking about Newegg Business, but you can always shop at their normal store.

Also, the issue was that they lost their 'banking partner', so Bitpay was no longer to settle purchases in CAD. Therefore, Newegg stopped using them, as they don't want BTC and or USD. Odd thing is that Bitpay still doesn't settle in CAD, so I wonder if Newegg is using them to actually take BTC (yay!), or if they're taking USD for whatever reason.
