I get
Stratum connection failed:....

from Yaamp

and

...retry after 30 seconds

from west/nice hash

for which algos? ... most? ...

yaamp is now down - the owner / dev committed a comment to their thread ... saying that their severs have been compromised ...

no time frame as to when it is coming back up - only the 'promise' of it coming back up better than before ...

sad to see ... this could be another multipool down and out for the count ... will see whether they get back up soon or not ...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508786.msg11401645#msg11401645 ...

#crysx

yes yaamp is down, i tried only quark @ nice/west and it didn't connect.

quark ALWAYS seems to be down at westhash ...

well - not always - but a lot of the time ... Tongue ...

ive emailed support regarding the continuous disconnects of ALL algos for the donation links ( stratum proxies ) and have yet to hear back from them concerning that ...

it seems that if the ip that connects to their stratum servers stays idle for a while - it kicks it off and doesnt allow a reconnect ... which is why ( if you are using the donation links for sp or granitecoin at the moment ) are not functional ...

They used to failover to yaamp - but alas - yaamp is down indefinitely now ...

does anyone here know of a 'good' multipool that does the same thing as yaamp and westhash / nicehash - that we can setup as a failover for the donation links? ...

#crysx

Crysx, I don't see the problems you are having with westhash. I've had a continuous connection to the quark
pool for 1575 minutes. As I mentioned to Masked_Immortal the only problem i see on westhash is the
one retry message on startup. Does your proxy support extranonce?

Ditto on the search for a good multipool. I have used simplemulti and xpool but the're focussed on x11/DASH, and neither
has a quark pool.  I don't know what's behind Mintsy's front page. Globalhash looked promissing but came
and went in less than a weekl. It's looking like it's nicehash & westhash for now.

Lazy..
The windows builds produce more hash, and use less power. You can get 100% more  profit if you switch to windows.
not supporting linux in this way dulls the shine you have with this fork ...
#crysx

I will continue to support linux. But the memclock/gpuclock is windows only for now.

The results i posted are from Linux, the hash rates seem pretty comparable to Windows
results, no idea about the TDP.

@joblo
yes i left it to try several times, no success
also i am not a coder and i am not familiar with the structure of miners codes like ccminer and sgminer
in sgminer when the server is down there is no gpu load
but it seems that in ccminer my gpu is under full load even when there is no connection to server!

YAAMP IS DOWN! You even acknowleded in the the post I replied to.

Did you let it retry a few times? When I start quark on westhash it always
fails to connect on the first try.  To be more precise, It always displays that
message, but no other error message when starting up.

Hi guys here are my results for various algo. I used simple config w/o any switches for all algos except scrypt ones & cryptonight algo. I used ccminer release49, cudaminer 2014-02-28, & ccminer-tsiv-20140926.

I was also running cryptonight on 2 CPU cores & atleast 10 POS coins were staking Tongue. So take these results with a grain of salt. My machine is i5 4670, 8GB RAM, Win7 64-bit, MSI GTX970 & GTX750ti. I measured power consumption using APC Powerchute s/w for the cards only not whole machine. I basically noted the difference in power consumption while machine was idle & while mining. There was very little fluctuation so figures are pretty accurate.

Sample config: ccminer.exe -d gtx750ti -q -s 1 -a ALGO -o POOLURL:PORT -O USER:PASS [scrypt/cryptonight switches]

Yes i like it. Nice work.

The power numbers for the 970 are almost all over spec (145W), but the 750ti numbers are almost all a little
under spec (60).  That puts the 970 power draw the same as the 980 (165W), or maybe the 980 also draws
more than spec. I haven't got any power data to compare.

Your hashrates, except skein,  on the 750ti are lower than mine. I may not have let skein run long enough,
it was a quick test and I wasn't too concerned about that algo.

My card is an EVGA GTX750ti SC, 1255 Mhz boost clock. I think the MSI is around 100 KHz lower.

My observed hashrates from yaamp (when it was alive) with ccminer 1.5.50-SP default parms.

x11            3075 KH/s
x13            2420 KH/s
quark         6050 KH/s

skein         79 MH/s
neoscrypt  170 KH/s

Hello.

I found it in twitter account.

YAAMP
YAAMP ‏@YAAMP1
Server maintenance.

It is very strange.

Regards.
Antuam.

tanx for that ...

found it on their twitter account also ...

server maintenance - or server rebuild Wink ... hehehe ...

#crysx

I was just about to post the following when yaamp's reply came in.
If they do come back with a better system all will be forgiven.

---

The way they posted a maintenance message with no estimated return to service
time and no updates a full day later is not encouraging.

Wafflepool vanished  under similar circumstances. They posted a maintenance message
and never came back.

btw ...

it seems that not only has yaamp dropped most of the connections and is being quite temperamental with new connections ( and dropping out altogether ) - but wetshash / nicehash seem to continuously drop ALL the donation link connections and refuse to reconnect ...

we have contacted the support people at nicehash / westhash - so will wait to see what it may be thats causing this issue ...

hopefully we will have the donation links up and running once again ...

is anyone getting the same or similar issues? ...

#crysx

yaamp down nearly 24 hrs now. nicehash stratums dropped for a about 15 minutes around 6 hrs ago.

Could it be a coordinated DDOS attack targetting both pools? nice/west activated their annoying DDOS
tool yesterday that delays a page refresh while it "verifies your browser". They ran it once before and I thought
they had given up on it, but it's back. Seems to be off now.

>> I stand corrected. I couldn't get over 900K on a 980
My junior gtx750 can do 890khs lyra with sp_'s #50 heavily oc'ed to 1480/1575 cpu/mem
you're doing something wrong... the 980 should do around 1.5MH/s (at least with my version... not following much what is happening here)
Joblo have you changed the intensity setting for the 980?  The default might be too low for the 980.

I was able to break 1 Mh/s with -i 21.2, any higher would crash. I guess I won't be mining lyra2
with that card.

Your PSU is a good one?

Cooling is adequate?

EDIT: yeah, Quark is best pay right now/lately anyway.

Power & temp are good. I have two monitors plugged to that card, maybe that's it.
3289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 17, 2015, 12:45:04 AM
anyone use this with a GTX 770?  What kind of speeds/algos?  thx

SP's optimizations and default builds are for compute 5.0 (gtx750 & newer) so you would first
have to compile ccminer yourself for compute version 3.0 and it probably wouldn't benefit from the
optimizations. If you're not comfortable compiling, or more spefically, changing the
compute version, there have been some discussions about it earlier in this thread. If you get
stuck I'm sure someone here will help you.

Same issue, payments keep getting cleared. I am missing a lot of payments over the last 3 days. I have to move off yaamp, probably permanently.

Sent email to the owner of yaamp, but he has not replied.

I think this is him:

Marc Nolette <marc.nolette@gmail.com>

EDIT Now my entire history is gone. No history or payouts of my wallet address on the site.

How do you view your payment history? I haven't found a way.

Anyway yaamp has been down (yet again)  for 2 hours as I write and there is just a terse "server maintenance"
message on twitter. If they don't get their act together quickly it will kill the pool.

Regarding your lost payments I have not seen that problem. Sometimes the graph drops to zero for a while
but when it recovers it's back where it belongs. A couple of times I suspected a payment was light but
when I was watching closely all payments matched up my balance. If I could find my payment history
I could reconcile it with my wallet deposits.

Are you being paid in an obscure coin? I get paid in btc or dash. I have read of problems where yaamp can't
find the right coin from the address.

that's actually why I think letting users set the intensity, isn't a good things...  Grin

Yes mine works much better with x11, quark, etc, even with random default settings.

So your OCed 750 with 1 GB of RAM, my non-OCed 980 with 4 GB, and an i7-4790k can all
hash about the same, but with significantly different TDP profiles. It looks like the 750 has
the best TDP.

I am disappointed with the performance on the 980. I'll have to do some wider testing to see
if any other algos show this non-linearity among different cards.  It will complicate profit
switching if the card model has to be taken into account. I had wrongly assumed that all
algos would scale linearly and just used the 750ti as a reference.
3294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 15, 2015, 02:18:27 PM

Looks like AMD gpus are best on lyra2re, see my miner in the signature (r9 290 almost 1.8 Mh/s and about 200W).

By extrapolation from the 750ti the 970 could match that @ 145 watts and a 980 2.2 Mh/s @ 155 watts,

It doesn't work like that - 750Ti tends to be the absolute best of the three in hash/watt...

And Lyra2RE depends heavily on ram speed: just think that r9 290 and 290x are virtually equivalent, regardless 10% more shaders. Kinda like scrypt.
Thus, I don't think the 980 can do 2.2 Mh/s, probably half that.

I stand corrected. I couldn't get over 900K on a 980.

3295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 15, 2015, 07:42:59 AM

The whole reason I asked about Lyra is because I'm using Miner Control to help keep my connection to yaamp. It works great, took me some time to get it to run, but does, according to price, switch to that algo.

I think yaamp normalises prices based on AMD HW, as do most profit switching multipools. Some algos are way
off compared to ccminer.

NiceHash/WestHash allows you to set the hashrate factors, I believe; I love that, since mine are different as well.

Is that on the multi-algo port? That only works with the opencl miners, not sure if it's only some of them.
ccminer certainly can't handle algo switching.  I don't know if the custom factors can be used on the individual
algo ports, which would allow a simple round robin bat file to do profit switching. If Miner Control can manage
algo switching with ccminer (and it seems it can) it can probably handle custom price normalization as well.

If you want to mine lyra2 checkout cpuminer-multi. I get higher hash rates on my i7-4790 than a 750ti.

what hashrate do you get? ...

#crysx

Default 7 threads @ 115 Kh/s each on i7-4790k  @ 4.3 GHz. Best performing cpuminer/algo combination
I've found and the only one that beats a 750ti, or even comes close. minerd/x11 is a very distant second
at 8 x 85 Kh/s (minerd defaults to 8 threads). I think lyra2 is a very challenging algo for GPUs.

Edit: I should qualify this by saying it's the best free cpuminer/algo combination. I have no knowledge
of any private cpu miners.

thats pretty good for cpu ... so i must agree that it does perform quite well ...

but that cpu ( from memory - too lazy to check ) also chews almost 90W of power ...

the gigabyte 750ti oc lp max is about 40-60W and does a little over 660KH on lyra2 with spmod ...

cost wise - at around 3 x the price of one of those cards ( basing it on australian dollars - but should be approx worldwide ratios ) - the hashrate doesnt play well ...

but then again - thats if you are ONLY mining ( like we are ) ...

still - quite impressive for a cpu hashrate ...

can you still use your computer when all 4 cores are at full pace? ... or does it slow down to being almost unusable? ...

btw - where is the link for the software? ... github link? ... miner settings that you use also please? ...

tanx ...

#crysx

You're right about the power but if you really really want to mine lyra2 I think CPU is the way to go.
If you're GPU mining, lyra2 can't compete with any of the other algos. You can also CPU mine lyra2 alongside
GPU mining a more profitable algo. CPU mining with n threads can affect ccminer so I usually use
n-1, which just happens to be the default. Other CPU intensive applications like compiling are obviously not
advised but casual desktop use is still reasonably responsive.

I occasionally fire it up if lyra2 is paying unusually well but not lately with the way quark is performing. What's
with the order prices on nicehash? What could they be mining at those prices? I've seen that kind of activity on
nicehash prior to a coin launch but it usually only lasts a coule of days but I haven't seen any new quark coins
in a long time. And this has been going on for over a month but accelerated in the last couple of days. Even
yaamp rentals are paying higher than any of the coins in their pool.
