His computer will only work in NYC? This blows my mind! He either checks the connecting ip or has the certificates on a pc there.

I can understand them not posting a tracking number. I did not asked for this. If they had a tracking number, they would know whatever or not Jeff will receive the stuff by the 31. They do not. Well I don't know if it is a scam or not (and don't really care) but I am sure all ASIC and FPGA boards have custom PSU. Ok, -1.

I spent a lot of time during the last days (or weeks) on the forums considering a big investment on the Avalon ASIC. I tough that even if my english is far from perfect, i should have opened this thread explaining my reasons to people that didn't have the time to spend here as i did. 1) Jeff will not receive its order before the batch starts sellingIf you pay 400$ to ship something (rumors are that the custom agent was corrupted to let the Avalon unit pass trough) you get a tracking number. God, i just spent 400$ to ship something, i need to know where it is in real time. I need to know when it will arrive. If the parcel was to arrive before the second batch, Avalon would know it and would be confident about it. They are instead suggesting you that hey, you might lose your place on the second batch if you wait for Jeff. 2) They need to order components before this weekend because they cleaned the market out of resistors and capacitorsHell, yes. We need components! You know, this stuff is hard to find and it takes 4 week to have it. What kind of components? Sci-Fiction stuff? No, resistors. RESISTORS! Once that Avalon discovered the community is smart enough to realize that you can't run out of resistors in China, they changed the supposed-missing components to mosfets and "inductor". People that know their stuff better than i do thinks that the only pratical use for mosfets in the Avalon is to build a custom PSU. Something that doesn't make any sense. You have problems building the Avalon, you don't need to get things worse house-producing a PSU.They could have said that they need to have some other chips from the FAB and that the fab will work during the CNY (i don't think that intel closes its productions line on their multi billion dollars fabs during the holidays). That would have made sense to me. 3) They will not publish a video of the Avalon mining before the batch starts sellingThe original plan was to post it before the end of the 2012. No one saw it. It simply dosen't exist. There is no reasons not to show a little video of the Avalon mining if it does exist. This recalls me Tom when he didn't want to post pictures of the chips he should own. 4) They will not try to smash the network for a small period with their 100 ASIC to prove that they are out thereJust turn them on for 2 hours, we would notice. They didn't do this. They will not. 5) Did they told you (chinese customers) the reason of the delay in shipping? It cannot be customs there.
No, I personally have heard no Chinese customers receiving their products. There was no explanation in this post. I will change my idea if: 1) There is a video of the Avalon mining that convinces me and my standards 2) Jeff receives the Avalon at least 6 hours before the second batch, so that he has the time to show us something. The BS about keeping the competition at the obscure of the fabulous progresses the Avalon team did in the dark field of the ASICs doesn't hold anymore.I hope my thread to be appreciated. By no reasons i want to troll. I wanted to be a customer.

This thread only makes sense if someone receives the units before the 31 or if they release real proof before that day. If not, Avalon is a scam and i will bet whatever you want on it.

I'm not. Anyway, reading the requirements of the first post should have been enought.
I stopped when I reached the line "SMF is very good when viewed from the outside...", and I assume the rest of the post was of a similar note. I'm not here to offer a bid, quote, or custom solution. All I'm doing is throwing an idea into the ring for the OP to take a look at. And for future reference maybe you should check your condensation at the door and simply add a comment of "I don't think IP.Board would be an appropriate solution for reasons XYZ". Or if "XYZ" is too much trouble for you then leave that part out. P.S. If I come back here in 6 months and this site is running on IP.board or something similar I officially reserve the right to teabag your face. Deal. (If and only the software is IPB+Mods and it is worth < 1000$).

You are ignorant, and yes, I'm rude. Sorry for that.
I think that my ignorance of the child-rate ticket price for the blue line city bus is fairly irrelevant to this topic. You are ignorant on the field you are offering suggestions. As stated in my original post, I did not read all 15 pages so am ignorant of the contents thereon in. I hope that you are not ignorant of the topic of my ignorance? I'm not. Anyway, reading the requirements of the first post should have been enought.

Did not read all 15 pages, but I'd say IP.board (used to be Invisionboard) is the way to go, it's by far the best forum script I've seen and I use a lot of different forums. You can put away your 3000BTC, IMHO, that is silly money and the only people you are going to get quoting you in that kind of range are scammers. http://www.invisionpower.com/apps/board/ <--- $175 Just use it out of the box, and pay someone to export/import your existing data (members, posts, boards etc...) The whole thing shouldn't set you back more than a grand. P.S. Looks like they even have a free tool to migrate your existing data from SMF to IP.board: http://www.invisionpower.com/convert/So that basically cuts your total budget to 9BTC, but you can send the other 3000 or so coins over to me if you'd like ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Are you trolling or simply ignorant? Neither. You however are fairly rude. For example: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/ uses IP.Board and the number of users on bitcointalk pales in comparison to the 32,000 users they've had online at one time. You are ignorant, and yes, I'm rude. Sorry for that.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Even more stupid that pirates hyip.
This is the best thing I've ever seen on bitcointalk. We are not all scammers and trollers and spammers and drugs addicted. The OP showed that there is some good in us. No it shows how blindly greedy the folks here are that's the stupidity not that OP could have run for the hills. I thought you where talking about the fact the the website is now closed, sorry.

The bitcoingem owner had a high morale, realized what was happening and refunded everyone by his own pocket. Close that website now please, before its too late.
Let the bitcointalk community forget and live free from that shit.

Looks like that they closed the website and refunded everything. A 1000$ lost for the owner, he deserves some kind of recognition at least.
What can we do for him?

Could someone clarify why placing an order before a holiday would change anything at all? Obviously they're not producing anything during the holiday... if it's a foreign company producing then they don't care about the holiday for taking orders. I fail to see how the holiday has anything to do with placing an order.
Wanted to say the same, i suppose that it's a way to scam you better. Seriously, how could one not troll this thread? Please bitsynchguy, provide proof to shut me up!

I'm not imposing anything. A demonstration will come by a customer very soon, if you wish to wait until then, go ahead; but you then run into the risk of not making into batch #2, and where if I don't open orders now, I run into the issue not able to order parts before CNY, which has a pretty long lead time.
Something smells fishy. Sounds pretty logical to me. They need to pre-buy parts for batch 2. CNY is coming so they need to put the orders in before it starts. Like BFL they get bigger discounts when buying in bulk, so I don't see the fishy part. Though, I would be one of the folks who waits for the review. Of course like he said...those who wait lose the opportunity. I am pretty sure they will sell out in less than an hour like last time. All of this is nonsense.

We want and DESERVE the right to have videos and more pics of the internal components. There is NO REASON in the world not to disclose this if you are NOT running a scam. And no, i'm not trolling.

As for new information, we are still dealing with the custom issues I've previously mentioned, but Jeff should receive his units within this week, and everything will be clear then. You seriously believe that shipping one unit to one customer will make you earn 750k$ in preorders? During the weekend, maybe? Dude, It is up to us. He has nothing to believe in. We are the ones to decide if he will get 750K or zero. From what i see here the answer is yes he will sell 500 batch in 20 mins max if the site does not hang:) Let me refresh your memory first batch 300 units was sold for less than 20 minutes or so even though Avalon was about three mounts behind from shipping compared to BTCFPGA and BFL promises One customer is not enough for me and my investment. Good luck to you.

iOS 6.1 (released today) and 6.0 have a userland breach that allows the attacker to gain root access. A friend of mine have Cydia installed on his iPhone 5.
