Silly bunny. BBQcoin.org is the official BQC site. Therefore the updates there are the official updates. BTW could you enlighten us who are you and why do you talking on behalf of the community?
3282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Incentivize Altcoin Developers on: October 18, 2013, 11:41:52 AM
I think the community should agree in a reasonable amount of premine (something around 3%) or in a similarly small percent of mining tax, otherwise devs (except Sunnyking) will not be interested in putting much effort into development.
Funny to see when lots of people here loudly babbling about free market capitalism and stuff like "no free launch", however the same people expecting a socialist approach and a free launch from the devs. If a dev asks for a payment then these blokes start yelling about "no free launch" again.

REC looks pretty much dead.
3284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Supposed ASIC Scrypt Miner | Scrypt ASIC International on: October 17, 2013, 08:41:11 AM
So it wasn't my paranoia Smiley.

Perhaps those ScryptASIC shares should be renamed to ScryptFPGA and the owner should agree with some script fpga developers (like beekeper or the other guys on litecoin.net) for supporting their research with the raised funds. This would be a good solution for this awkward situation. Everybody would be able to make money and a working scrypt fpga with a reasonable hash rate would be a great breakthrough for the community as well.

3286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Supposed ASIC Scrypt Miner | Scrypt ASIC International on: October 16, 2013, 03:54:20 PM
Well I bought 10 of them, as I think I could make a profit off just the shares alone.

Not really bothered with the actual website/company/organisation or whatever they are.

Then again, I have loads of shares in most of the projects on cryptostocks, so this is just an extra one for me.

Any new users reading this, don't invest what you cannot afford to lose.

Well... yes, probably you can until they keep posting funny pictures. I guess they will try to pump share prices with more great news then dump and later "admit defeat" by saying something about unexpected technical issues Smiley. If they have some hardware (for demonstrating how hard they were working on the project) to show on the trial they can walk away at the end Smiley. But maybe my opinion is just pure paranoia  Roll Eyes.
3287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Supposed ASIC Scrypt Miner | Scrypt ASIC International on: October 16, 2013, 03:31:52 PM
They issued 110K shares and currently selling 25K for 0.05 BTC each on Cryptostocks. I'm really curious how this will end.

3289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The End of Alt Coins on: October 16, 2013, 07:51:20 AM
Wait till governments take Bitcoin seriously and start regulate it. This will be a great opportunity for new altcoins designed specially to fit or get around those regulations.

I've never really brought into that idea much. Regulation will be an umbrella covering all crypto-currencies.

I wouldn't bet on that for a second.  It could be an umbrella, or it could be specific.  It could even mention bitcoin by name

Being specific would open up a lot of back doors, so I guess a generic umbrella style regulation would be easier to implement and maintain.

3291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brand new kind virtual currency - CAPTCHA coin on: October 15, 2013, 09:09:53 AM
sorry, a captcha cryptocurrency is not possible unless you figure this out

This is not possible if the coin is open source (reverse engineering will be easy), but it's possible with a closed source code. But if it's closed nobody will use it.

Not even possible with closed source. Everything is open source if you know how to use a disassembler and a debugger.

There are a couple of opensource or free captcha implementations. You can embed it into the client or you can use it on the "pool" servers. The only issue with the second solution is the relative centralized nature as you need the captcha servers to keep the coin working. Writing a distributed solution where everything included in the client would be a lot of work but it could work well.

Yeah, I need love, can someone donate? Cry

Well, if you are a girl and look like Pamela Anderson some 15 years ago then I can volunteer Smiley
3293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [KGC] Krugercoin is a coin to love on: October 15, 2013, 08:23:06 AM
Any suggestion how we could get the price up?

Real word services, or backing KGC by some kind of commodities.
As a first step you could reestablish the shops (none of the listed shops working or accepting KGC)
Do the same as igotspots. Pile up some copper, brass, lead or whatever you can get cheap in bulk and make KGC backed by these "commodities".
(If it will get some value then you can move forward by buying more relative cheap commodities (like old silver coins) and further increasing the value.)
Maybe you can buy or lease some piece of cheap land, lend it as a grazing land and then you can channel this income into your "backing". You can do similar things with some other property.
In the meantime you can try to persuade some shops to accept your coins.
3294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins most likely on mtgox? on: October 14, 2013, 06:15:09 PM
+1

Please stop. Gox had their chance/shot and they failed. Move on.

Generally speaking I agree, but Gox is still a major player.
My guess is LTC and NMC.
