I am a portugal supporter and hope that portugal wins this match to qualify for the semifinals but I don't want to underestimate Morocco too because they have so far play well, hopefully it doesn't happen like the previous match which ended in a penalty shootout

You are already thinking of penalty for this match and you know if it gets to that shoot out kicks, Morocco has tasted that and succeeded with Spain. The Moroccan keeper is well prepared to pick some of the penalty shots like he did with Spain. Update on the match is that at the moment the match is on no goal yet at 40 minutes, 5 shots for Morocco and 3 for Portugal, 1 shot on target for each but Portugal having better possession of the ball.

Wow, that was fun reading it.
Is this real or for entertainment purposes only?

It was not for entertainment purposes, it happened but if it repeatedly happened is what I can not confirm and this is longtime ago like I already said.

He made it sound like the TV is the crystal ball and it will tell you what the future beholds.

No it is not as such, not the crystal ball. The TV is out of it only that it was a medium that such numbers were shown and then plus other confirmation from soccer news papers that the forecast were drawn from.
3283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: December 08, 2022, 09:42:56 PM
I remembered that in my region there are a lot of aged men who come together to analyze the possibility of a particular number been used as draws they mostly do their analysis using jersey numbers but they do this analysis using news papers but not television as stated by the op I don't know if it is related to the idea of the op.

I understand this one you are talking about. The old men usually hangout forecasting through the soccer news paper to analyse on what draws will come during the weekend. It is almost same as the one the guy followed up on the TV because it is also about studying and reading of the numbers appearing that week. He also cross checked his forecast on the soccer newspaper to confirm same numbers. This is years back actually.

This strategy is purely based on luck and most people that use this kind of bet style are those that doesn’t want to think hard for there bet.

Lol such strategy is already a hard work itself. Researching on that daily is not a lazy man's job.
3284  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Medically assisted deaths could save millions in health care spending: Report on: December 08, 2022, 03:47:16 PM

Euthanasia is a delicate matter that should be treated with care. I do not think it's moral to do that for economic reasons. Life must be preserved by all means. Do not attempt to put pressure on people (who probably have chance of surviving) due to economic reasons

I was reading all the posts above posted to see if what I feel like asking is there and this side of your post corroborate what enquiry I have. At what point should euthanasia be permissible? This is the issue for me because I might not really be against it totally because there some health challenges that the pains are really excruciating and whose natural result is still death. So how do we reach to this level where it will be the most reasonable thing to do. It is difficult to take someone else life but some are not just bearable to see the person living.
3285  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria bans ATM cash withdrawals over $225 a week to force use of CBDC on: December 08, 2022, 12:47:04 PM
Personally, I see that such methods are to dry up liquidity in the hands of citizens, and thus limit the economy, including controlling inflation. If this is the case, then it is a bad way to manage the economy, and the citizen will pay the price when restrictions are re-lifted, as inflation will accelerate excessively.

I think the Nigerian government is biting more than she can chew. They are still struggling with the redesigning of the currency amidst litigation of not going through the right processes in the first place. The government is abrogating, doing the wrong thing at the right time. How do we juxtapose banning of bitcoin trading and account linked to the bank and now forcefully chasing masses to adopt CBDC ?

These whole currency thing is just like a sheep in human clothing, it has no real face but rather having political current with the general election approaching, it is witch hunting of certain political affiliates. The decision is I'll planned and coming just when an administration was coming to an end. The present administration will conduct an election in February and will hand over in May 2023. So why the haste after being in office for 8 whole years.

The challenges to Nigerian economy and inflation amidst insecurity is more basic than the currency regulation. Inflation will be push down if the economy do more of production, to fix the refinery, electricity, agriculture, transportation are more basic to reduce cost and scarcity that kept pushing inflation up. If the economy was running better then currency regulation will be more sane.

Honestly, with all of my time that I gamble this is the first time of hearing about such strategy. It's unusual to see that there's this strategy that exists and if someone was able to win through this, well, it's amazing.

It is really a gambling strategy I consider as a critical and logical reasoning. Sometimes they can add the numbers up and arrive at another number and bet on it. Like the first week is 7,19 so they can add 7 + 19 = 36. That means they either bet on 7,19, 36 or divide 36 in two to arrive at a particular forecast they are looking at.
3287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you experienced this kind of gambling on: December 08, 2022, 09:07:37 AM
I have experienced some guys who are chronic gamblers making unimaginable predictions from football player's jersey numbers, basket ball, hockey, rugby etc jersey's numbers. I have experienced this and their prediction is only based on these numbers shown on TV sports analysis consistently and regularly.
These chronic gamblers feel that when these jersey numbers keep flashing on your TV stations maybe during the sports news, analysing the jersey numbers on different clubs and display of the jersey numbers may be a sign that such number will appear as draw for the week and they do their permutations on that.

This is for example what I'm saying with the jersey numbers not about the person but numbers precisely.

The pictures are different and analysed differently for the week.
Like 7,19
Another week 10,7,17
Another week 10,7,17,10 (probably 10 confirmation of banker  Grin for this week)
Another week 8,7,8,10 (probably 8 confirmation of banker for this week)
Another week 16,15
Another week 10

So this particular guy in Nigeria around 5 years ago followed some Jersey numbers he has been monitoring for the week and according to him 3 of the numbers where consistently and regularly appearing on different TV stations for the week and he concluded some numbers and went to stake them 3/3 in the weekend draws and behold! When the matches were played all turned out draws and this guy cashed out from different pool shops where he did the stakings. It was a big winning story in the area alongside few guys he gave the numbers to try their luck.

My question is, have you experienced this kind of gambling with Jersey numbers ?

Note: The pictures are just to illustrate my point with the jersey not particular about who was wearing it and I didn't need to link any source because any jersey number will do or can be imagined, at most written with bare hands.
3288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2022 Discussion Thread on: December 07, 2022, 04:12:52 PM

Portugal didn't feel CR7 absence at all in yesterday's game and that was an important message to send to their opponents!
I am quite shocked by Switzerland performance yesterday.. That was one of the worst matches played by them and one of the worst defeats in the actual World Cup.

It is not a matter of the CR7 not being in the match and the Portuguese scoring that high number of goals, rather I think Switzerland is not a better side at yesterday's match and they Portuguese capitalized on that. They barely had shots on target at the first half, Portugal did all the attacking and of course the reason for the goals. Well whatever was the reason for not playing Ronaldo worked for them.
3289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 07, 2022, 11:43:28 AM

Spain going out this early was definitely a surprise, but looking back, Morocco ended up first in their group, with 7 points, and still undefeated.

Only The Netherlands, England, and Morocco are undefeated so far in the entire tournament. That's not just luck for Morocco, they have shown they actually have a proper team.

My guess is that France will end up in the final against Brazil.

Or if England manages to win, England will probably face Brazil in the final.

Basically France vs England is probably one the best matches of the last 8.

Yes the three countries that have had an unbeaten run in the world cup so far have been fantastic. I didn't expect England to beat Senegal as they did but they ended up smashing the African champion as they did with 3:0. But now that we have Morocco from Africa defeating one of the football giants in Europe and the world, why are you not giving them chance to see them at the world cup ? Remember this is a world cup with a lot of surprises. We didnt expect the defeat of Spain from Morocco, now the Portugal opponent to Morocco at the quarter final may go home while Morocco proceed to the semi finals, nothing is impossible.

Will it reach or cross above $20,000 in Q1 2023?

I still believe that it is still early to feel bitcoin is now stable in the price, although the price didn't drop like it is expected during the November season and December but the year is still on and anything drop can still happen. Bitcoin stability to me is during the halving and not now. What we are seeing this time could be little corrections going on.
3291  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: December 05, 2022, 06:04:04 PM

Create value, solve problems, and do it well, you'll attract people to follow you; remember, money follows people with value.

What's your take on this?

My own take on this is that I don't agree with it. No money don't really follow people with value because if you look at the professors, the well read, well behaved and descent people, they are not wealthy, they are just average and could only feed themselves, immediate family and nothing more but they have created value, taught virtues etc but they remain as below average or lower in the society. Money rather follow people who have been into illicit business and embezzlement, stealing public money, making contacts for contract awarding. These set of people are those that money follow but they are not smarter, they only choose such style of life. Winning through fraud, illicit craft, drug peddling is not value creation but pulling down the society and corrupting it more. So I don't agree with your assertion that money follow people with value.
3292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High taxes and ‘no future’ spark fears of mass exodus of young Britons on: December 05, 2022, 02:43:16 PM
This news is not surprising to me that UK is facing brain drain and her doctors are leaving for other better paid jurisdiction in medicine like going to Australia. I thought all was well in the countries that Nigerians quickly run to for greener pastures while the citizens there also leave there home land for other countries for greener pastures. Humans and their insatiable wants and needs.

Few months back around October I heard in the news that UK government licenced about 91 trained Nigerian doctors to practice in the UK

Okay now the whole scenario is sinking. They are doing replacement for doctors who have left like "Rachel James" and others who have decided not to return because of the unfavorable UK working conditions in her health system.

3293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World cup highest goal scorers update discussion on: December 05, 2022, 11:56:24 AM
In the list of top goal scorers for this world cup Qatar 2022, Mbappe is topping the list with 5 goals already and the rest following in the train are from 3 goals below including Messi. So I think kylian Mbappe has a greater chance to going home with the golden boot. The France team is strongly leading their world cup campaign, being in the race they Mbappe is my choice for the highest goal scorer this world cup.
3294  Economy / Economics / Re: The Labor Market Is Broken on: December 05, 2022, 10:43:16 AM

and it is possible that some beggars in the streets even manage to earn greater income than they would with a full time job.

If indeed labor markets are broken. What does the long term outlook resemble. What can average and ordinary people do to mitigate the dangers.

I agree with you that the work system has broken down. That is the government salary paid jobs, they can not afford anything near better living because of inflation as the main cause and that is why every home to survive have other things to do to raise money by the side. In Africa and especially in Nigeria unlike before where the culture is that the man is the bread winner of the family and goes out to struggle to feed the home, this is no longer happening like that as the reality of the economic hardship is even biting the women folks when the husband can't sustain the family from what he is able to bring, the womei now works and in some families are now the bread winners.

People have resorted into different means of survival and at the end of the day, what comes in from those means far outweighs government salaries. Begging and corporate begging is what some people have found to do. When you go to eateries, you see the service attendants there from the gates, doors and those in service expecting you to drop some change for them and this happens across the world not only in Africa, that is corporate begging.
3295  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs Cannot Save Weak Currencies on: December 04, 2022, 09:44:22 PM
Totally agree that CBDCs won't save weak currencies.  Fiat 2.0, I mean CBDCs, can't solve for the unlimited printing press of some of these currencies.  These currencies will be devalued due to their inflationary nature.

Yes it has the same connotations with paper money only that it printing cost is reduced from fiat but the country's economic activities and government policies will affect it like fiat too. If fiat is being devalued then it affects CBDC of the country and they sell at the same price. The value in price should be the same for both.
3296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every crypto newbies need to know this on: December 04, 2022, 06:20:47 PM

They use your money behind your back to invest for themselves.

All the banks do this with depositors money to invest in different parts of the economy and outside the country and who are the bank CEOs ? or bank owners? They are those in government of course and they are those trying to discourage bitcoin hodlers but they won't succeed to stall bitcoin. The poor and youth have found the freedom needed where you can control your money by yourself and not throw it into one bank for them to feast on it and send you monthly bank maintenance charge on your account. All those frivolous charges are cut off using bitcoin.
3297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 04, 2022, 05:27:52 PM

Although we are also not interested in his kind of gambling. I remembered the first time I watched a chicken fight, the noise around me, I could still hear what I was talking about, but when the fight started, it was very noisy and almost everyone was shouting because of their excitement.

It is barbaric actually to watch this kind of fight that has no referee to separate them . The fight sometimes becomes very intense and you see them bleeding from the crown and the head altogether. It is not a thing that we should be encouraging. Some people don't watch horror films because of the fear and blood that is seen and that is how it looks when watching two chicken killing themselves in fighting while betting on them is on.

(1) here I ask my seniors if we guess the numbers correctly but we bet the numbers with very high bets whether the dealer will issue our numbers
(2) does the city have a term for sorting numbers

 Please explain seniors👌👌👌

I have seen this kind of lottery game you are talking about and remember, lottery is just luck game. I didn't understand the permutations or computational algorithm of the numbers and so I stay away. I know people that play it and if they happen to win the cash out is very high but most times they lose. The stake for the game is very high and bettors tend to like it because of the potential when they are lucky to win. I think they play it 3/4 times daily and results for all the time are released one after the other. They have different names for the daily games. The results look like the picture @ Daltonik posted.
3299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2022, 02:20:50 PM

Do you want to know why cryptocurrencies are good for long-term investment?

Remember you are talking about cryptocurrency for a longtime and not specifically on btc. For cryptocurrency I don't think there is much of a difference between short and long time investment. Take the example of ripple, it is almost like stagnant after a long while and gaining little that will see it slightly over $1. Moreover I have some shitcoins for a while now and they never increase but only decrease and some get delisted. I can only believe in bitcoin for a longtime, etheruem or binance because of the exchange.
3300  Economy / Economics / Re: Share Your Best Money Advice Based on Personal Experience on: December 03, 2022, 09:38:12 PM
My experience with money is If you want to grow your money then don't leave it in the banks. Invest your money and make it work for you this is the best way of becoming rich, you can make money round the clock while you are sleeping only if you do the right kind of investment and allow people to manage it. This is about growing your money and it requires you not to spend money unnecessarily.

Doing extravagant expenditure is not a good money management skill. Back sometime ago some people I knew felt that when you spend money that it will increase more but this is just faith and faith without work is failure. So I believe in working hard and diversifying your source of income. You need to build wealth channels so that you don't go back to dark days of financial lack, this is important.
