We all knew this was coming after the thrashing that GTX 680 gave to AMD's inferior gaming cards ... Too bad Nvidia is still forgetting about us and no mining card STILL ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Trolling detected. Seriously, nvidia cards came out MONTHS later

Interesting thread. The situation once more shows why we need bitcoin: for freedom. We aren't even free to send our btc to an address now ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Then we have the intersango guys who of course says the thread is defamatory...

As i said, what i fear is that the internet change and become like current smartphones, with only approved APP given on approved STORE
Or, a lot of places where you have to register accept facebook profile instead of registering a new account, next step will be accept ONLY facebook profiles.
So the internet freedom become a small niche of us nerds instead of now

Looks like were going in circles...
So you are attacking USD for being backed by nothing at all (and now I'm thinking you want it to be backed by gold), but support Bitcoin which is also backed by nothing... That's where you lose me. Your given reason for disliking fiat can be also applied to Bitcoin. Back OT, I support Bitcoin because I think it will kill Paypal. This is a much shorter term and much more realistic goal than ending world fiat, and it will probably fly better in the geek subforum as well. Hold on, there is a huge difference between fiat and bitcoin Governments can print as much fiat they want and inflationate it like hell Bitcoin is limited to 21million maximum bitcoins, and no more. No inflation. No governments printing money as they wish.

+1 to what he said, p2pool stales are not like other pools stales.

Seriously guys: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.androidiani.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F01%2Fandroid.gif&t=663&c=C8mDrB4xxbvK0w) But well, it's true that we have to allow new people to use bitcoin, and it's not our fault if they use fail phones

Maybe one day we will have an internet where you can only use APPS from legit stores/marketplaces. Any unofficial APP won't work.
After all, even today good luck for ifail user to get the bitcoin client APP, it keep getting removed from the APPstore and they have to jailbreak and get the korean one.
Do you remember good old days when you just downloaded and installed the software?
|
|
|
Voting no at all.
Seriously people, stop trying to mess with people savings. We want bitcoin because it give us sovereignty on money, and you propose to happily remove that exact thing? No.

It's useless even for security purposes.

I suppose most ppl with a lot of BTC keep an encrypted wallet with a lot of BTC and an unencrypted one for their daily expenses.
|
|

Right but it's the internet where you always lose, so by posting, deathandtaxes automatically lost even if he is right.
Dear Panda Mouse if you aren't happy with reality send your whine to god. Meanwhile stop spreading FUD.
|
|
|
as i assume everyone does Your assumption is wrong, actually very few ppl encrypt the wallet. Most ppl keep it unencrypted and thus they are vulnerable to attacks. If you encrypt your then make sure you use a good password, otherwise an attacker can crack it very fast

Dear DeathAndTaxes if you aren't happy with reality send your whine to god ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Seriously, this fud is ridicolous, p2pool is open source, if you think p2pool is scamming you then check the code and find the scamming part.

No, the day they will notice bitcoin harms their interest then it will become the currency of terrorists and thus made illegal. After all if you are a honest person you use dollars!

Given that CPU mining support has been discontinued for cgminer, I hope that people will find this fork useful.
Really? Maybe we should reactive jgarzik/cpuminer then. and start merging pull requests. Seriously, CPU mining is useless

Yeah, as you guys said it just doesn't seem right in theory. Whether the CUDA miner or something else needs to be adjusted or re-written for the Kepler architecture is just my guess, it's too bad to not see it mine well.
FWIW, Folding @ Home (Stanford) has also said they have to recompile their program to work with the new architecture. Thus while normally Folding is a strong suit for Nvidia, it also is "broken" on the Kepler cards for the moment.
Might also just need a newer driver. Hopefully if that's the case, Nvidia won't take 3 months to release one. Normally it seems like they get new cards' drivers out very fast (updated ones I mean, rather than the stock). Here's hoping!
Folding @ Home is broken because nVidia broke it. The cards have way less DP/SP floating point performance than a 560 Ti. It's part of nVidia's new tactic of making their lower end architecture useful only for gaming. And despite that there are ppl who love nvidia and hate amd. Nonsense. Seriously, who want to buy a nvidia? Not me.
