3301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Treasury bonds and bitcoin on: November 05, 2021, 06:12:51 PM
Treasury bond is a bond with a guarantee. Those who are clever will never put their money in bitcoin, because they will never want to put their money in a risky place.
There is little or no investment without risks, and any investment with minimal risk will also have very low ROI, Bitcoin is a different kind of investment, and it's not just an investment, it's a currency, it's anything its user wants it to be, is it risky? Yes, but it's not some pump and dump coin that has the possibility of going to zero and out of the market, it has an actual use case and even if it'll take time, it'll get to mass adoption, and no matter how many plunges, it'll rise back up again, of course clever people, even geniuses are putting their money into Bitcoin, that's cause they understand how the network operates, how the ROI works, and most importantly cause they want to be their own bank and control their finances.
3302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interest on Bitcoin on: November 05, 2021, 05:58:52 PM
so happy I joined this forum - I didn't even know it's possible to get interest on Bitcoin! Thanks everyone for enlightening me here
I hope you understand the type of interest OP is talking about, it's not the sort of interest you gain from hodling/investing/trading, I believe OP is inquiring about forfeiting your private keys to maybe an organization/company and earn a percentage from the organization depending on the agreement in the contract, mind you that this is embedded with so much risks, if you've not heard, "if it's not your keys, then it's not your coins", thus giving your keys to anyone takes away the ownership of the coin from you. If you want to earn interest on your coins, then hodl it, trade it, just do anything, but make sure you are the only one in possession of your private keys/seed phrase.
3303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily Reminder: Watch Out for $5 Wrench Attacks on: November 05, 2021, 05:41:31 PM
With the ideology that every Bitcoiner is a millionaire, then I consider it too much of a risk to tell people you have Bitcoin, or you deal on/with Bitcoin, I have actually had individuals discuss about how much money they have in Bitcoin or have made from Bitcoin without understanding the risk they run doing that, I'll be in such discussions and wouldn't utter a word, it's that much of a secret that even most of my close pals do not even know that I do have some Bitcoin in my possession, there are many ways to protect yourself from a $5 wrench attack, but the preliminary step and the biggest one of them all is keeping your mouth shut about how much Bitcoin you have, if people do not have the perception that they can take something valuable from you, then they wouldn't bother attempting to rob you.
3304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 05, 2021, 05:30:04 PM
They are the people who said BTC is a scam and must be avoided, they will keep on saying bad about BTC. Its the responsibility of the community not to pay attention to such negative news.
Bitcoin users who are not new to the network and understand it wouldn't be worried about the FUD or what other people say about the network, the people I'm actually concerned about is the newcomers and individuals who want to adopt the technology, they are more often than not deceived by most of the erroneously placed news on the media about Bitcoin; that's the reason why it's always advised that one does his or her own research before joining the network, if you are expecting one so called 'expert' or the other to drop their opinion/perception before you make a decision, then you're must likely going to make a mistake.
3305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: November 04, 2021, 08:50:57 PM
I would like to see a much better Manchester United in this match but I'm not sure of it. They are not good with Ole now. But I also wouldn't like to say that the main problem is the manager. Because we all have witnessed how great Arsenal have recovered still having Arteta. This can be a "stay or go" match for Ole. I hope to see them not losing this one.
To be honest I really want the United board to sack Solskjaer, not cause I think he is the problem of the team, but cause I want to prove to the many people who think he is actually the problem, that he is not, Manchester United aren't just going to be automatically successful if they sack their present coach. If you watch their matches, it's clear that the players are not just giving their best, they are erratic/inconsistent, they play well today and the next day they are extremely poor, the players have to improve, that's just certain, irrespective of who the manager is, United players have to start representing their team/fans/jersey with more pride and seriousness.
3306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 04, 2021, 08:37:30 PM
It is claimed that Manchester City would think of making an offer for the current Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers after Pep Guardiola leaves the team. As we know, Guardiola said something about leaving City in the near future some time ago. And Leicester are thinking of sacking Brendan Rodgers after having poor results. I'm not sure about whether he is the right manager to fill Guardiola's place at City. I would look for more successful managers if I were Manchester City.
I would really love to see a link to this news/info, definitely Pep isn't going to stay at the Etihad forever, but I'm not sure if he is leaving very soon, Brendan Rodgers on the other hand isn't doing too poorly at Leicester city, he has kept them in the top 5/6 for a couple of years now, and with the crop of players they have, that is somewhat of a good feat.

Having said that, I personally do not think Brendan is a good choice to replace pep, neither do I think City are considering signing him as Guadiola's replacement. Having said that, City's manager after Pep is going to have a really tough time, it's going to be a bit difficult to coach a team pep just left recently, he has quite a lot of philosophies, so integrating yours in place of his is going to be somewhat tough
3307  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 03, 2021, 10:54:05 PM
The thing to understand is that "humans are insatiable" thus no matter how much money you have, you'd always naturally want some more, it's a normal human phenomenon, but that doesn't have any thing to do with financial stability. Being financially stable for me is being able to afford all your needs without having to forfeit any of them to get the other, for example you want to buy a shirt of $200, and also a shoe of $300, being able to purchase the two items without it affecting your funds for feeding or other things, then you can be said to be financially stable, it doesn't necessarily mean wealth or extravagance, it just means being able to get what you need, when you want to.
3308  Economy / Economics / Re: There are many online jobs out there. Crypto Opportunity. on: November 03, 2021, 10:34:06 PM
There have always been 'online jobs', and individuals with skills have been harnessing such opportunities, the thing is, if you want such jobs, it goes way more than just 'surfing' the internet, the first step is working on yourself, acquire necessary and sought after skills, when you have these skills you can now look for something online to do, it makes it a whole lot easier then, there will always be opportunities, but it's for those willing to take extra steps.
3309  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption by banks - good or bad? on: November 03, 2021, 10:28:35 PM
Personally, I think that more adoptions and regulations won't do any good for bitcoin, it will just become a little bit different digital version of fiat.
I'm afraid there is no sort of regulations/sanctions by the government and their banks that can bring Bitcoin to this level, it can't be compared to fiat or be a distinct version of it, mind you that no matter what, the government can't print/create Bitcoin, they can't control it, neither can they make it scarce, etc, they can only try and set their regulations and make it somewhat difficult for Bitcoin users to use the network and also seek a way to track them through centralized exchanges.

Having said that, I think in a few years to come, governments/banks will only have CBDC's as their major concern, the government only focuses on what they can control, and since they can't control Bitcoin, I'm not looking forward to a period were governments will be wholly into Bitcoin.
3310  Economy / Economics / Re: What books do you recommend for economics? on: November 03, 2021, 10:03:33 PM
Most that economic books will be talking about is based on theories. After reading most of them, they don't find their bearing in the physical economy of changing life and creating wealth.
Isn't that how all books are, it's definitely up to the reader to assimilate the content of the book and apply it in their daily life, that's the same thing with economic books, it is not meant to be a passport to wealth creation or a better life, it is just a printed material published to give the reader necessary economic knowledge and if applied correctly could be beneficial to the individual economically.
The government economic department employ the best of economic professors but you see economy not improving like it suppose to be.
I don't think that argument is too valid in this context, the economy of a country is on a very large scale, and it can't always be rosy for a country economically, there are quite a lot of factors that decides that, but that said, I'm pretty sure without these expert economists/financial decision makers in various countries, their economic situation would be a whole lot worse than you think it is at the moment.
3311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we accelerate the mass adoption of crypto? on: November 03, 2021, 08:55:10 PM
In my opinion, regulation, practicality, and stability are definitely required for the mass adoption of crypto as a payment method/currency.
What are your opinions on this?
I personally do not like regulations and I don't think it can in any way help in the mass adoption of Bitcoin if that's the coin in question, regulations are even inimical to the growth of the network, these regulations are imposed by the government and it's basically obvious that most of this governments do not want the Bitcoin network to attain mass adoption, just because they can't control it and cause it puts control in the hands of its users, I don't think there's any of such government sanctions that is channeled at making the network better, it's all in a bid to quell its development, make it difficult for people to use it and in that way make popular their central bank digital currencies.

Bitcoin does not really have to be stable to get to mass adoption, volatility is even an aspect of the network that most of its investors like, and it can be a reason why more people get allured to the network, I believe the best thing for mass adoption of Bitcoin is when people understand the importance and benefits of being their own bank, that way more people will appreciate the relevance of the network and would want to use it, so as to control their finances and take it a bit away from the hands of the government.
3312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's so “convincing” about Craig Wright? on: November 03, 2021, 08:43:05 PM
Some people support a "thing" or an ideology without really understanding it, some people even basically go as far as supporting the person popularizing the propaganda, not caring about the authenticity or validity, just without foresight supporting the person spearheading the said propaganda, and as such, whatever it is such person presents becomes 'fact & true' to them, without research, making their own findings or even asking necessary questions.

I believe most of the people in support of Craig and whatever he says falls under the above, they prolly aren't thinking critically like you want them to, and then again some people like to be on the controversial side of things, they prolly do not wholeheartedly believe the arguments, but they basically just want to "stand on the other side", the rest of them maybe are earning from it in one way or another.
3313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with whales? on: October 31, 2021, 08:33:17 PM
As a Bitcoin user, I'm pretty much not concerned with how many percent of Bitcoin is owned by whales or institutions, it's not like Bitcoin is a pump and dump coin that you have to be worried about people selling their coins, even if people who have large amounts of Bitcoins decide to sell it all away, it can only affect the price of Bitcoin for the short term, as it'll definitely appreciate back up again with time. Having said that, there is no way to deal with this OP, you can't control or stop people from buying Bitcoin as they like, all you have to do is buy at your pace and hodl, the coin has an actual use case, thus if you believe in the network there is really nothing to be worried about.
3314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: October 31, 2021, 07:46:02 PM
2 more days MU will vs Atalanta in UCL hopefully they perform as well as against Tottenham earlier and secure their position in UCL
This game is actually very important to Manchester United, they have to start winning games in succession, thus having won against Spurs in the weekend, they'll want to get another win on top of that by defeating Atalanta and strengthening their position to qualify from their UCL group. United played very well against Spurs and if they continue in that way, then they can revive their season and maybe OGS could still retain his job. Having said that, United are known to be erratic, thus I'd not be surprised if they do not build on their victory in the weekend and fail to win their next couple of games, it's up to the players to show character at this point and justify the amount they are being paid.
3315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: October 31, 2021, 06:30:22 PM
Well, I would say that the collapse was in the air already when Messi spent his last year in Barcelona as he was forced to stay. The team wasn't the same already at that point. No more Neymar and Suarez, Griezmann couldn't get back in shape. Now Barcelona is going to suffer a lot. All those hardcore fans and their team is no more able to really compete with the top.
Barcelona are struggling to compete, and it's only normal if you look at the players they currently have in their team, watching Barcelona's games these days and I find it difficult to identify some of the players I see in the team, it's that bad, it's not just the fault of the manager, they need to buy new players, but they seem to be in a financial crisis, thus I don't know where the money they'll spend on players is going to come from. I may not like Barcelona so much, but it's sad to see a club of their status in their present condition, this is a club that is renowned for competing, but at the moment, they are struggling to compete with even the lower teams in the league, I actually hope Barca find their feet again sooner than later.
3316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto influencers be like on: October 31, 2021, 04:51:47 PM
The best advice I would give to beginners is to do the necessary research before you invest in anything.
I second that, I mean cause there is absolutely no way projects will stop using crypto influencers to promote their coins, what we must even understand is that these influencers most times do not even know if the project is a good or bad one, or if it is on the right track to success, but it's all about them making their money, which is totally understandable/fine, thus it's up to you the investor whose money is going into it, to do your own research and draw your own conclusions on the project, I for one wouldn't blame any influencer if he/she promote a project and it goes south, in the network there should be no trust, and as such if you trust an influencer and you lose in the end, then it's on you.
3317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: advantages in the cryptocurrency industry on: October 31, 2021, 04:19:41 PM
There is a process before you can do that, however, you can start by buying bitcoin with around the smallest amount that you can test to see how it feels like owning it but you won't feel the fluctuations since it's just a small amount.
I second this, and to be honest, people need to come to the understanding that you can actually start small in the network, having the mindset that you must outrightly buy one Bitcoin before you can be said to be a Bitcoin investor is a misconception that really needs to be corrected. Mind you that you should only invest what you can afford to lose, so the best thing to do is to find a strategy of buying at intervals, and before you know it, you would actually own a stash that you'll be surprised how you accumulated all that. As far as price corrections are concerned, newcomers to the network must understand that it is a part of the network that is constant, you must learn to ignore it most times and make sure it doesn't send you panicking/selling.
3318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investors desire on meme coins are insane on: October 31, 2021, 03:41:00 PM
You know how dangerous they are yet you still made a lot of money from it.
It is risky cause these sort of coins are more or less pump and dump coins, and the thing with them is that you should only hodl them for the short term, I absolutely do not doubt what OP is saying, as quite a lot of people have made huge sums of money from "lottery" coins such as this, but many more people have lost all their investments to it, if you buy it at the wrong time, especially when others have started dumping it, then you'd be left with a useless coin that's prolly never going to rise again. If you're a short term investor then these sort of projects aren't actually a bad idea, so long as you know how to handle them (when to buy and sell).
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: October 30, 2021, 10:50:55 PM
This victory did Manchester United more harm than good, because Ole solskjaer we remain as their coach, the victory does not mean he is a good coach after all,na Manchester United we give him more time to keep delaying there progress of going to the top where they belong,am happy that levy we now know that Nuno is an average coach
Football lovers need to understand that sacking OGS doesn't mean that things will automatically start moving well for the team, mind you that there have been a lot of coaches in the United dugout since Fergie left, but no one has brought them the success they seek to reclaim, maybe that's even the reason why the United board is giving Solksjaer a bit more time, cause honestly if he gets sacked and another manager takes his place, except the players themselves improve, the new manager will likewise struggle.
3320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first Crypto Meeting on: October 30, 2021, 09:53:40 PM
This is a serious step forward towards mass adoption and recognition of crypto. People on the forum complain about why people don't get into crypto, but without educating, talking about it, and even mentoring new adopters, things will just not move anywhere. People might not like this, but those 4 points are really important for the future of crypto.
You have a point there, but tbh, talking to non-bitcoin people about Bitcoin can be actually very strenuous, there are quite a lot of erroneous ideas about Bitcoin all over the news, internet and media, thus many of this ideologies have been taken in by people hook, line and sinker, as such it becomes almost impossible to educate them on what Bitcoin actually is and how to safely use it, that's the reason why most times I actually don't blame people who try not to talk too much to people about Bitcoin. But having said that, it's always great to educate people about the network if you do have the time and zeal to do so, cause quite a lot of us came into the network cause someone took out time to explain Its benefits to us, thus repaying the favor to someone else isn't a bad idea at all.
