3301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling - Do you have winning limits???? on: October 13, 2022, 11:30:16 AM
Never had winning limits imposed on my account by a casino, nor I impose myself. I only win a few times and only modest amounts, but I never usually withdraw them if I'm done for the day, just leave it there to be used for next week's gambling adventures. I learned to not be greedy a few years ago, and I think it helps with my mentality on gambling and also the limit on how far should I go for this activity of mine. Once you get to learn that nothing comes out of being greedy but defeat, you'll be contented with what you have at the end of the day and will never chase losses nor wins.

I'm going all in on Secret to win against VP in a series. Hopefully it's a Liquid/Secret finals.
VP and Team Secret got two chances to get the slot. Whoever wins first tomorrow will go happily to the TI11. Chance of Team Secret getting that secured slot is very high. Even though sometimes, I'm not impressed with how things go at their early games, still, they're proving to themselves that they're determined to win as soon as they've got the momentum. They're not letting it go and that's showing how much Puppey still got that prowess and understands the game. Much respect for Puppey and for both teams, VP and Team Secret, one more step away and we'll see who'll be the first to step to the main event.

I sometimes think it's the 'Puppey effect.' Dude has this "fuck around and find out" aura in him that if you made one mistake, you have to make sure that you'll make it up in the next few minutes else something will happen very bad to you Cheesy But yeah, I think it's that this team easily recognizes what they are doing wrong and they are quick to correct it, either by slowing things down or rushing the enemy by invading their jungle and just doing their thing. Puppey is a genius when it comes to drafts and timings. They certainly have the potential to win TI but it will depend on how well they would be able to handle stress and fatigue.
3303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Token Swap? on: October 11, 2022, 11:17:56 PM
Token swap is just another term for salvaging a project that proved to be a failure. Most crypto teams do this in hopes that a new token would help them overhaul what their project is which will in turn, attract new investors or old investors to reconsider the token once more. Kinda like a breath of fresh air, except that it's the same old thing facelifted to make it look fresh and new. I don't buy the idea behind token swaps, but it obviously works because a lot of people still buy them even though they know it's the same thing.
3304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2022, 10:55:42 AM
No hate for T1 but man, their drafts are really weird and kuku on the offlane is literally 0 impact on all of the 3 games against VG. Also, you can see that Kuku blocked Topson's Tiny on game 2 during the last clash. Topson can survive Morph's right clicks in there but man, kuku has to body block my guy.

Anyway, good thing I didn't bet match winner last game, but still lost on my first blood bet lol.

Secret vs VP tomorrow for first team to get qualified for TI from total of 2 slots available. I do think Secret will win just because they seemed the practice a lot during the free time and also finally came with meta strategies that puts opponents in difficult positions ...I mean , we saw today Puppey Ench that couldn't be touched and ended up winning that game in around 25 minutes.

VP looks solid but always ready to trow ...like NaVi did today...kinda normal for them to do this.

Secret's meta is slowly being copied by a lot of teams because of its efficiency and not a lot of wave clear heroes in this patch. Visage is also being utilized very heavily and we can see a pattern here. Puppey with his Chen/Ench can make wonders, and I don't think VP is that prepared to counter this given how they prefer single target heroes with chain stuns and lockdowns as of late.

I'm going all in on Secret to win against VP in a series. Hopefully it's a Liquid/Secret finals.
3305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Formula 1's Crypto.com Sponsor Is Falling Apart on: October 11, 2022, 09:47:57 AM
It's quite unfortunate really, but if you built your company heavily on ads and not focused on strengthening what you really offer, plus venturing out on other possible business fronts, this is what you'll get. They were extremely ambitious and bold in getting their name out there, and it's evident on getting deals left, right, and center on big sports teams and leagues.

They could have focused on one particular sport and perhaps branched from there before getting all these deals in one go. That way they can still get their name out while also allotting lots of time and resources on making their brand the real deal, as opposed to just advertising. A bad move, but hopefully they get out of this one.
3306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2022, 06:08:52 AM
-snip

This is very close tournament and I am thinking I am playing over maps on all games tomorrow. Worked brilliantly so far so maybe that is the way to go all the way.

Nice hit on that ticket though, it was probably the best decision on taking over 2.5 maps especially on that T1 vs Navi games.

I took this though and now Im thinking about splitting it to a single tickets then take all of it at over 2.5 maps as well. Its pretty much win or go home at this point though especially on the lower bracket so yeah most games would probably ended up not under 2 maps most likely

Good call on splitting them in singles. Team Secret just finessed T1 real hard thanks to Zayac's great plays enabling the team to go on pesky supports (Whitemon, Xepher) ensuring that no save will happen to the cores. Also, it seems that the meta for Secret is picking heroes that can dominate and control creeps to their favor, as this patch there aren't any good aoe nukes with short cooldowns that can take down these controlled units. With the nerf of KoTL this meta is alive and well again.

Also worth noting is that T1's draft isn't really the best and that is something they can work on still in the lower bracket. They can play on long, dragged-out fights and can initiate pretty good team fights, it's just that most of the time they don't have the heroes to do so because their drafts doesn't suit what they need to contest against the enemy.
3307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bangladesh has blocked 331 online casinos on: October 10, 2022, 11:56:07 PM
A good move IMO, especially if these casinos aren't really contributing to Bangladesh economically and are helping drain people's money. If Bangladeshi gamblers still want to pursue what they do, then they'd need to just go to whatever is available and not risk getting caught which may lead to jail time. These online casinos must first comply to the gov't requirements, otherwise they are operating illegally and should be blocked as was the case there presently. Nothing too complex in this situation, just Bangladesh doing what it needs to do to for its own good.
3308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question to players: what does really drive you crazy in an online casino? on: October 10, 2022, 11:27:50 PM
Unpolished games is what usually throws me off when it comes to online casinos. You invested a lot of resources in getting your casino out, together with your promotions, advertisements etc. But if you'll be providing me with games that doesn't look and feel right, then most probably I'll show myself the door and find some other platforms. Customer support, UI, speed of deposits and all that kind of stuff don't bother me that much so long as the casino is reputable and is already established in the field. I came in to have a good time, and if the games don't give me that, why would I force myself to play?
3309  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 10, 2022, 11:04:30 PM
I chase anonymity so much that I refuse to win on casinos but still make sure I have a good time Cheesy Most casinos I've played with only require KYC when you win, so it suits what I do because I rarely win on the casino anyway and just stay there if I got a hang of the game. It's also hard to change casinos frequently just to chase a no-KYC policy. You just risk your identity being known in a lot of places rather than giving it on one platform and making sure that the info you gave is as little as they would allow.
3310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: REFLEX ACTION IN GAMBLING AND TIPS TO AVOID ITS PITFALLS. on: October 10, 2022, 10:19:49 PM
Checking yourself first (especially behavior) and your pocket should always be the priority while gambling. I think everything comes into place if you have these two as your priorities. I think there are more to this list but OP just highlights the few things that should be taken into consideration by most gamblers.

There are still imstances wherein these two aren't enough to deter you from going wild in your gambling habits. I know a lot of people and heard a lot of stories about other people that caught debt because they bet the money they don't have and went over budget on their gambling allowance. Being aware is one thing but keeping yourself aware when worse comes to worst is another. It's a good start but it can still be improved IMO.
3311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 10, 2022, 08:22:39 PM
It looks like the bookies are slightly leaning towards both EU teams in the upper bracket and that means there's a bit more value on T1 and VP since I don't think Team Secret and Team Liquid have the edge when every series went all three maps.

Secret has the edge and the capabilities. They are known to take lots of games in a single day and still come out ahead of the competition. Team Liquid, I don't know much. They bank heavily on their precision and their ability to snowball on games that are pretty hard, but on dragged out fights and long series, the stress gets to them easily. This may be the reason why they always try their best to get the upper bracket whenever they can, because they simply cannot stand playing for extended periods of time.

T1 and Secret is a pretty even match with T1's performance yesterday. Their mentality has become somewhat strong and their teamwork is already showing. Keep the momentum and they may even drag the UB run to the grand finals, though that may even be a stretch at this point.
3312  Economy / Economics / Re: Retailers make more profit than wholesalers during inflation. on: October 10, 2022, 05:58:58 PM
Simple reason is that the people don't have enough money to buy wholesale due to the rising prices, hence the ones who can are presented with an opportunity to sell the goods with a slightly higher markup to allow other people to buy it in bits and pieces. Also, the wholesalers have no other choice but to keep their markups at the minimum to still make a sale and may even result to them closing shops or slowing down their restocking since not a lot is buying anyway. It's a chain reaction that is not pretty to look at.
3313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the best time to buy Old Coin? on: October 10, 2022, 04:19:35 PM
There are tons of old coins that are in the market which are still available for the taking. It highly depends on the volume and market dynamics of the coin if it will make or break. A lot of them crashed heavily in the previous years and most are beyond recovery at this point. Though there are some that are still experiencing some pumps and dumps, but it's always safe to just invest on coins that are still active in the market than risking on old coins which has no activity or updates whatsoever.
3314  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cashback VS Bonus on: October 10, 2022, 01:27:55 PM
Both wouldn't usually allow you to withdraw whichever amount you garnered in the casino after losing, so whichever of them is present in the casino I will gladly have. Besides, what bonus is there to give to a $20 max deposit every week either way? There are 100% deposit bonuses on new casinos but that's just about it. My bet amount and bankroll is so low that it's best not to worry about these bonuses because they are usually negligible in value, so either of which is fine for me.
3315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: REFLEX ACTION IN GAMBLING AND TIPS TO AVOID ITS PITFALLS. on: October 10, 2022, 06:18:26 AM
If it's a reflex then the best thing to tackle it is to avoid the stimulus, or learn how to anticipate the stimulus and be prepared for it. It will be hard to combat these kinds of actions especially if your brain is wired to do the same thing over and over again to curb or to counter something. In gambling, this may be a quick max bet after losing for a lot of times. To avoid this, you have to be calm and cool about it and try to leave your gambling session and just continue once your head clears. It may not be a great approach but it helps you in a way since it prevents you from doing something crazy.

Lots had been rooting for T1 including me but seeing on UB first match against Navi then i do already lost hope.  Cheesy

1. Navi
2. Secret
3. Vici

If T1 would go on LB then they could handle out Tempest but lets see on how they would be handling Navi considering this
team is on rank 1 in Group A. This LCQ is really action packed.

T1 just defeated Navi in a very convincing fashion. Swedenstrong doesn't seem to be strong at all in this series unlike when they were still at the groupstages wherein that man terrified the hell out of the carry. Kuku also finally went back to his usual effective offlane picks that doesn't try to experiment just for the hell of it. Xepher's saves on the tusk on game 2 with Topson's puck is also phenomenal. T1 is starting to play in sync and in harmony, and just sent Navi to the lower bracket.

I'm curious on what a T1 vs Secret series would be. Topson and Ana have both been consistent on their performance this LCQ.  It's also up to them to get the early lead and take the head start for their team in order to stand against a calculated Team Secret.
3317  Economy / Economics / Re: More than half of Silicon Valley residents want to leave on: October 09, 2022, 08:52:35 PM
It's about time that people learn to disperse somewhere else. The US is a huge country, and there are a lot of states offering great career opportunities in the tech sector. California may have been the center of wealth and tech in the US for decades, but as a worker, the cost of living is nowhere near comfortable, and may hinder financial growth in the long run if the work doesn't pay enough.

Florida and Texas is becoming very appealing as the years go by. Apart from the hurricanes, Florida is actually lenient and forgiving when it comes to taxes and cost of living.
3318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Censorship resistance is underrated, move to bitcoin and #DeletePaypal on: October 09, 2022, 07:56:14 PM
Too bad I still need to use Paypal because this is how I get paid for some of my offshore clients. Tried to pitch in an idea that I'm open in receiving my pay in bitcoin or any other altcoins out there but they don't seem too comfortable to handle such transactions. Imagine I just posted something against Paypal out of frustration but not out of spite, and then a $2500 deduction on my account would be posted? This is nuts. This is what happens when an organization is given a lot of power on their hands, they act like they are the law and that everyone is on their payroll.

Wise is a decent alternative, but I'm not sure if it's any better than what Paypal is right now.
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 09, 2022, 06:20:34 PM
I agree with Polaris losing since Team Liquid looked solid so far but I think the Navi-T1 match should be close even though Navi topped the groups, T1 can still put up a surprise. Also, the over 2.5 maps might be the best play for now since every other match feels like a tossup aside from Team Liquid.

Navi will surely be giving T1 a hard time. Noone is playing so good and swedenstrong is just surprising me with a lot of his pos 4 rotations that I'm starting to like him on this LCQ. If they can keep the pace going, there's no way that they'll drop to the lower bracket as the event progresses.

I still believe that Polaris can beat Liquid on upper bracket since they are solid too by getting a draw result against Navi and Secret. Team Liquid is not that strong anymore, They just look unstoppable because the team on there bracket is not that strong. Polaris has a better run on this qualifier compared to T1 that keeps showing inconsistency on all of there matches. They can’t even manage to get a sweep on weakest team on there bracket that is only a sign that they can’t maintain there performance in long game run.

Liquid's bracket may not be as stacked as bracket A but you can see on how they play that they are composed and seems like they got everything figured out. There are times that they are doing some questionable moves (I'm looking at you, mICKE) diving in deep but most of the time they just know how to take objectives and remain focused. Other teams are very explosive but very unstable too, just like T1 during the first day of LCQ. Liquid has a high chance of qualifying, and it may even be Secret and Liquid in the end. Polaris is a 50/50 team still. Discipline is what this SEA team is lacking especially in team fights. They know how to clash but they still don't know when they would do it.
3320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 09, 2022, 05:20:38 PM
The only thing it has an advantage of compared to others is that I at least know to a certain point the team behind it and I know how to contact them or make them notice my issue directly without any difficulty

I agree with you, but we can't forget that as new altcoin creators do on this forum, casino guys are the same thing: in the first few days they are very active on the forum, but after months they disappear from the forum and claim that they are very busy, It's always like that

There are obvious exceptions to this rule of course. Reputable casinos that sprang from this very forum always have staff or representatives that still answers to questions up to this day whenever they have the time. They still engage with the community and gather feedbacks whenever possible. These same casino guys can also be found on their respective chatboxes on their platforms, so there will always be a way to contact them. And they will answer too, based on my experience.
