3301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone buy during $1200? on: December 17, 2015, 04:28:42 PM
I was just learning about Bitcoin back then, so the only thing I remember is seeing people going insane in Reddit. Next time I will have some BTC so it will be really exciting, except it will be 10 times higher than the last ATH. I cant wait to see the guys selling at 1.2K and regretting a month later.
3302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When was your first "awareness" of Bitcoin/How were you made aware? on: December 17, 2015, 04:26:11 PM
Probably 2013 in the midst of the epic rally, first time I ever opened the Bitcoinwisdom tag it was probably at around 600 dollars, and I saw it go to 1000+ dollars in front of my eyes, I still remember the moon guy gif in MtGox. Gool ol times. I had 0 Bitcoin by then and if I had I would still have held.
3303  Other / Off-topic / Re: In 20 years, what would you like to do with your bitcoin? on: December 17, 2015, 04:24:09 PM
If everything goes it should, I would make 21 BTC way before 20 years go by, hopefully by next year I can hits landmark. And then, I must resist any urges to play the smartass card and try to short, which means holding for said 20 years. This should put me on a guaranteed early retirement. The question is, how much to sell, and how much to keep on BTC? we will see how the world looks like in 20 years for that.
3304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice game strategy? on: December 16, 2015, 05:35:51 PM
I personally use reverse martingale when I do dice, although it is really rare these days.

It is a fun strategy to watch, and it's all about luck. If your luck is good then you'll win.
I think you can only use it for a while,
and do not leave the robot if you use it, or you will see your money devoured by robot

Martiangle is suck for me since it will bust me at the end.
I change my method " loss at all or win big " just like Hui did on everybet with low chance of winning.
If luck is stay with us today, we may having big win

Martingale sucks because you dont calculate it well before you start to use it. This is my method like for examples you have 1 btc balance, you should play it slowly like start your basebet for 0.01 or 0.001 then set a goal like may be 0.01 or 0.1 after that you will stop it. I dont think this strategy will let you loss a lot. Loss all and win big is pretty risky to do. This is matter of luck like you said set for 10% of winning. Did you calculate it well how much will you loss before you can win it? Although you win doesnt mean that your loss was being covered may be you still on minus

Knowing when to stop is indeed the most fundamental technique and one of the few you can use in actual gambling, the rest don't really ork. But for me to have real fun in gambling I must try to beat the odds, playing conservative is not really exictin, so I like to not gamble often, but when I gamble I try make as much as possible out of it, and if I lose all of my bet I just deal with it.
3305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way for small online shop to accept Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2015, 05:33:37 PM
If I had a small business as a physical shop, I would simply go to bitadress.org, generate a new paper wallet, and print the public key in a paper, put it in the counter and that's about it. I wouldn't even bother dealing with 3rd party payment processors. The more you stay true to Bitcoin only the better unless you really need to.
3306  Economy / Gambling / Re: If Mayweather made a comeback, would you bet on it? on: December 16, 2015, 04:59:01 PM
For the guys that say that he will end up broke because of his flashy lifestyle, I think they don't get it. This guy is not Mike Tyson which was reckless and didn't gave a fuck, this guy is really sharp and a businessman, it's always investing, hangs out with Warren Buffet. All he does is exploit his own persona to make even more money, he isn't showing off for nothing. He's enjoying his money, and making even more money out of it. He's set for life, unless he really losses his mind somehow because that much money and power can delude anyone, but it's unlikely.
3307  Other / Meta / Re: Hilarious bots posting nonsense: what's the point? on: December 16, 2015, 04:38:34 PM
He's definitely back, and notice that the cunt has changed the template of the subject. Now he's switched "?" for "...". He uses a "The" at the start of a sentence and "..." at the end so you think you are reading a legitimate thread tittle but it's actually spam. If you see a subject starting with "The" and ending with "..." it's going to be spam. Maybe it could be automated so any thread starting with "The" and ending with "..." gets removed? I mean what are the chances that a legitimate user is going to unfortunately make a thread subject exactly like that.

If the amount of words used are always the same, I think It can be safely automated.
3308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Nakamoto wins Craig Wright at the media war on: December 16, 2015, 04:33:44 PM
Not really surprising in my opinion.. He has been in the News for much longer vompared to the few weeks of craig at the moment.

Maybe on one year it Will be much more mixed ratio.

I don't see Craig ever getting as much attention as Dorian. Google ranks stuff pretty quickly, I know because I have done SEO for some companies that wanted to rank their products. If Craig was relevant to Bitcoin, he would be all over Google by now, but the Dorian Nakamoto incident was much more outrageous than this, and his face is like the other poster above said, very iconic and characteristic, the other guy looks like a regular businessman.
3309  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Segregated witness - The solution to Scalability (short term)? on: December 16, 2015, 04:30:44 PM

Peter Wuille: Segregated witness and its impact on scalability at SF Meetup with more time for questions and clarifications.

I would love to listen to this since the latest lecture was very limited in time as there was a bunch of other speakers in queue, but I just can't stand having to hear a voice from only one of my headphones...

Is there a way to make the sound mono? It's not that hard to do it before you upload it, so much for tech geniuses that fail to duplicate the left audio channel into the right one before uploading Tongue
3310  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: December 16, 2015, 04:22:07 PM
I know for staff is different beacuse you have to read what people write, but I don't  Wink
Technically we don't either; we don't have to do almost anything. However, I think the best way to remove this problem is by tackling its root (they don't have to be necessarily removed, guidelines/restrictions could be made).
I have just removed my signature campaign. All I have to say is that most people posting in signature campaigns are either people living in third-world countries or people who find way to abuse the signature campaign. Sig campaigns greatly reduce the quality of this forum with people who only post for the Bitcoins, even if it is not much. It leaves us skilled computer users dealing with a ton of spam. What I found is there is a lot of programming and many other gigs available on this forum and those living in third-world nations should get more skilled

So you are saying that people in third worlds don't have a right to benefit from Bitcoin? I remember reading some stories about how some guys that were unfortunate to be born in some of these shitholes were making more money thought signature campaigns than they did working a real job (where they are exploited for peanuts). Isn't this beautiful? Bitcoin is liberating people, this should be celebrated in any case.

Anyway, I live in a first world country, and unemployment is only getting worse. Getting some extra bucks a week is greatly appreciated. Removing sig campaigns would be removing an actual use case of Bitcoin that directly benefits real people (both the people getting paid and the people improving traffic into their websites by promoting it through them, not to mention the website itself benefits as traffic is way higher and it ranks better).
I would also stop buying stuff with Bitcoin because I only buy stuff If I get paid with it, buying Bitcoin then buying something with it makes no sense.

If you want to be elitist, maybe you could disable signatures in a specific new subforum called "technical talk" or something, where it's impossible to get paid if you post there, filtering any possible spam. Other than that, doing this with the entire forum is a mistake.
If someone spams, mods see it and ban them already, so this is really a non issue. If the colorful banners offend your eyes, it's also a non issue since disabling ads will be possible soon for Hero+. I personally tried a script when I wasn't in a sig campaign to disable all signatures and the forum looked extremely sameish. My eyes have become used at posts being separated by banners at this point.
3311  Economy / Gambling / Re: If Mayweather made a comeback, would you bet on it? on: December 16, 2015, 01:41:19 AM
I used to make so much mone with Mayweather fights, I would always bet in a win and the guy won and won nonstop for years, of course you needed to bet a pretty decent amount since the odds were always in his favor. Sometimes it was close as hell with Maidana 2 and I got pretty shaky.
Anway, would you bet that Mayweather would win his 50th fight? I just have a feeling that he might come back next year with another fight, probably the last one to have that perfect number.

I think it won't happen again since he's already retired. And if miracle happen, absolutely I will bet on him.
I like the way he attempt to knock out the opponent

Well he has retired at least twice before, 2008 and I think 2012, the took long breaks, but if you are in top shape and you still have the itch to compete, you will fight again even if it means contradicting yourself, he has done it before.

3313  Economy / Economics / Re: CNN: Money is flying out of China on: December 16, 2015, 01:19:46 AM
Everytime that there's something going on with China the price of Bitcoin has been going up lately, it's pretty much now a confirmed pattern, I would say almost guaranteed that when something is about to happen with China capital controls it's a really good time to buy in if you are feeling lucky and think you can time the market to short some of your BTC.
3314  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: December 16, 2015, 01:15:57 AM
Well if you are in here I assume you have hope for Bitcoin for the long term, otherwise you are probably at the wrong place. Most people that are here but are negative about the outcome of Bitcoin are usually FUD trolls in the speculation section. Everyone here that has done its research knows that Bitcoin has a very bright future and it's only getting better day by day.
3315  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Soft Fork to Increase the 21M Limit? on: December 16, 2015, 01:13:09 AM
I think increasing/removing the 21M Limit would result in panic reactions. Adding extra decimals places is a much safer way to achieve the same thing

It's just really stupid if you think about it. Who the hell wouldn't sell all of it if Bitcoin is about to do something diametrically opposed to what it was designed to do? (to not fall under the same tricks and traps as central banking). Everyone would sell since you know the supply is going to get increased therefore your money is guaranteed to devalue, so as the price goes down, miners would ultimately end up with less revenue. Im just hoping in the future Bitcoin mining is more decentralized, we can't be praying forever that miners will not do something stupid.
3316  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin satellites on: December 16, 2015, 01:09:00 AM
Hello,

When they launch these on orbit? Is there any smilar electronics on board?  Huh

http://www.coindesk.com/jeff-garzik-announces-partnership-launch-bitcoin-satellites-space/

I've been hearing about how whales would eventually launch their own satellites which basically would be space nodes, guaranteeing we have nodes available even under the toughest scenario possible. I think that's amazing but I have no idea when it will actually happen. We need a guy like the Virgin guy in Bitcoin shooting BTC satellites, it's the ultimate step in decentralization.
3317  Other / Meta / Re: Hilarious bots posting nonsense: what's the point? on: December 16, 2015, 01:05:33 AM
Seems to have stopped, but it could just be a temporary lull.

Edit: Nevermind, no lull. I soon as i wrote the above, I looked again and new one popped up.

I've been lurking at job and just arrived home and I haven't seen any single of the random word threads popping up. The guy that was doing this might have gotten bored of it since he wasn't getting nothing out of it, people wasn't even annoyed by it anymore since I saw the threads getting deleted pretty much instantly. Im glad we didn't have to implement some additional protection which would annoy legitimate newbies.
3318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CSGO Predictions BY:Zilara :) on: December 14, 2015, 07:45:53 PM
Oh waw men this a really great to have, for people who like gambling thru CS:GO nice up to dates.
Well maybe for now is not for me, but some day I will do it.
Well good luck with your bets I hope you will win and win every game.

I have not been following CS in ages. I used to play CS competitively (not serious but some fun with online cups) in the 1.6 days, that was fun. I even remember more earlier versions than that, like the really early version of the early 2000's, then I got too old to spend that much time on videogames. It seems all the kids are into CS:GO nowadays, it seems to be the same thing but just like better graphics. I was good at guessing who would win but I lost track in who is good nowadays. I remember SK was the team that would win you most bets back then.
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When choosing an online casino, what do you look for? on: December 14, 2015, 07:40:45 PM
I want to be able to inspect the code of the website to see how it works, I don't want to be playing in something that you don't know the inner mechanism of the site because then I would rather go to the conventional casino, of course provably fair is a given these days and anyone that wants to be competitive in the gambling game needs to offer that.
3320  Economy / Speculation / 500$ as a X-mas present on: December 14, 2015, 07:37:42 PM
Im going to say it first: we'll see 500$ by around xmas time (so that's 25-31 December). Of course, I have no evidence to point at this happening any other than feeling really bullish at the scaling progress done in the past weeks and feeling generally really happy with the good news we are seeing lately, and of course having some fun in the speculation subforum with other Bitcoin fellows, so get in here if you are in for a 500$+ xmas party.

If it doesn't happen, you can still enjoy this drawing I did, and be sure it will happen next year anyway
