3301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 08:49:47 PM
I don't think Blackjack is a skill-based game.

for card counters it definitely is, especially when it comes to single-deck blackjack. with a house edge around just 0.15%, it's beatable if you know the game well and can ride out variance.

i would never gamble on chance-based games. i love poker, and i'm all about playing in games where i have an edge.
I don't think any casino uses a single deck to play blackjack! Though counting number is considered illegal. If you get caught, oh boy you are dead. They take you to the back  room. Beat you up and take all your money.
Lol kidding. I have a friend who used to be a dealer. They used six decks on their casino. They all are taught how to identify those who count cards. If you get caught, they just tell you to leave and all you winnings are forfeited. Don't worry. They won't beat you lol.
3302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 07:59:23 PM
As we are now under community quarantine because of this pandemic virus, we tend to play online games to lessen the boredom we feel at our home, so I wanna know your preference on choosing what gamble to play.

There are two types of gambling for me, the skill-based and the chance-based.
1. Skill-based - these are gambling that requires our skills and techniques for us to win, such as playing poker, betting on races, and playing blackjack but the odds of winning are still different for people and it is always in favor of the owner of the gambling.
2. Chance-based - these are gambling that you will only wait for the result, you don't need to do something or to think so deep for you to win because all of you have an equal chance of winning such as roulette, lottery, and other gaming machine.

For me, I will choose the skill-based gambling because I am not hoping for the luck of life, I want to make action to make my life great. It still better to to think logically and analytically at any time.

But if you are only a beginner, I think the chance-baded gsmbling would be duitable for you, but do not stick only on that, you should improve yourself, acquire skills and knowledge through experience so you will be able to play skill baesed gambling soon.
No matter how much you say "skill based" games depends on luck, in the end, luck is what that matters. No matter how much skilled you are, you still might get crushed by a "lucky" user anytime. Think about poker. You played you games analytically. According to your analysis, say the chance of the opponent to get a better hand than you is like 0.1% (assuming those numbers). You might think that you won the game and go all in according to your analysis, but if you are unlucky, the opponent might win it.
3303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New exchanges worth my money???? on: May 14, 2020, 02:22:25 PM
I will like to drop my likes for few altcoin projects for some minutes and talk about one particular use case in crypto space today that hardly goes wrong unless the team have bad intent from scratch, that's Exchange Platform, most new exchanges are 99% bad but I will like to give a try, I'm looking or seeking for a fresh new exchange token that I can invest little money on, I think it's worth the risk after seeing how successful some people turned after investing in the follow exchanges

1. Binance (BNB Token)
2. OKEX  (OKB token)
3. Huobi token

Once upon a time these exchange tokens are dirty cheap and look how amazing they are today, now if you don't mind please fill me with some information
Your title is a bit misleading. Fix it. At first glance, it sounded like you were talking about trying our new exchange platform.
You think its "worth the risk" just because few tokens out of hundreds succeeded? If you do the math, its highly unlikely you would be making a good investment.
Invest on those three you mentioned if you like "taking risks". You never know, those three tokens might die too one day.
3304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC Halving and its effect on gambling on: May 13, 2020, 10:21:17 PM
Hey! With the 3rd halving just around the corner and Bitcoin trading at about $9,200 at the time of writing, the price may break past the $10,000 mark once again in the weeks or months following [a lot of polls in regards to that here as well]

A massive price surge will highlight renewed interest in Bitcoin, which eventually may influence the iGaming industry to give more value to crypto gaming. This may result to a boom in the number of Bitcoin casinos on the market.

As Bitcoin gets more attention, more online casino operators would not want to miss the opportunity to tap the crypto gaming market. Existing operators that cater to only fiat-money players would consider accepting Bitcoin, while new brands in iGaming would launch as crypto-friendly casino and sports betting sites, for instance. Gaming dApps, for instance, may also get the boost they need to launch and get a strong following and support from the community.

Looks like a fairytale for you? Share your thoughts
Not sure if its going to have any affect on the gambling. I mean, I don't see any reason or any connection with halving and crypto casinos. Though, if the price starts to rise, then people will be betting lower amount of coins (but the same value or bit more) on each bet.
I don't think fiat casinos can just jump and start accepting crypto currencies. There are laws and regulations that they will have to abide by which will make the process quite slow for them.
3305  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you using a trading bot? on: May 13, 2020, 10:07:55 PM
Not much into spontaneous trading, so I don't know much about bots. But, I have heard there are different groups that uses these bots to pump and dump coins.
Just curious, are bots safe to use? Aren't you risking a lot when using a bot? I mean, what if your bot starts to malfunction? Or what if the bot goes rouge and you lose everything? What if the bot itself steals your coins?
3306  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Real or fake? on: May 12, 2020, 08:41:03 PM
Hello, just sent 1$ and received 2$. Is a trick something or just a scam to make me send more and then run with my money?

https://telegra.ph/Steve-Wozniak-Foundation-5000-Bitcoin-Giveaway-Airdrop-05-11-2

"You can only participate once. If you try to participate more than once, your BTC will be automatically refunded. " => How they know how many times I can participate?
Lol, this is fake and you are probably involved with this scam. You are posting here to promote this scam. Look at your username.
Secondly, you sent $1 and received $2? The link says you need to send at least 0.1 BTC (and LOL why would they put such restrictions?). Thirdly, if you actually did make a transaction, then why can't I see any transaction being made on that given address?
Gtfo with your scam.
3307  Economy / Speculation / Re: The excitement is over, what's next? on: May 12, 2020, 07:19:04 PM
Here we go the much anticipated price of BTC Halving is over, there were lot of speculations on this but the majority failed, however I guess it still remain stable Even in this tough situation.

So what's next? Will the price go down or it will remain stable or it will pump? In my opinion the price may go down as this COVID-19 has affected very very badly which may cause investors to sell their assets.. kindly share your opinion guys.
You know, no one knows whats going to happen to the price, right? So, asking people what will happen to the price next is useless. Most people will likely feed you with wrong information or just try to "force" their opinion on you.
How about you do your own research? Try to understand who are mainly going to be affected by the halving, what are the things they might do and so on. You might get what an idea about what the price might be in the future.
3308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to become a professional Trader (PRO) ? on: May 12, 2020, 07:12:09 PM
Whatever you say, in the end it is the experience that will make one a "professional trader". The more you keep on trading and the more time you spend on trading, the better you will become. You will learn a lot through your trading sessions, you will also make a lot of mistakes. Try to understand what you are doing and learn from those mistakes.
Everything you mentioned (having right mindset and capital management) will come automatically once someone gets used to trading.
3309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Biggest bitcoin "giveaway" scam I've ever seen... on: May 12, 2020, 06:44:02 PM

This scam isn't something new. I remember people posting about "casinos" that gave free coins when joining them. They were spamming everywhere. From this forum till discords and social media websites. Once they join the casino. They claim the codes. In order to withdraw the funds, they will have to wager 1x the amount. As soon as you place the bet, you get really "lucky" and you win a lot of money. But, when you try to withdraw those money, guess what? You will have to make a small "deposit" lol.
Such a sad attempt to scam people.

While that sounds scammy, it actually isn't. In fact, I've played on multiple casinos that rely on this model to attract new players.

Sure, deposit measures are implemented to prevent no-deposit abuses but once you meet the requirements, you're free to withdraw after that.

Boils down to due diligence.
Can you elaborate "no deposit abuse"? I mean, if they are giving away free coins, why would you have to make a deposit? How does depositing helps you to prevent people from abusing this promotion? Users can simply still abuse it by making multiple accounts. Playing for a while. Making a small deposit and withdrawing it. You see, depositing isn't stopping them from anything.
3310  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Biggest bitcoin "giveaway" scam I've ever seen... on: May 12, 2020, 05:38:15 PM
Everything started when I received a message from a bot of discord:

-snip-

I registered at tradefry.com and when I received the "0.69"BTC on my account I tried to withdraw:

I hope no one will deposit that 0.02BTC...

3311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a professional gambler on your own way. on: May 12, 2020, 01:32:08 PM
There are some people who are dreaming to become a professional gambler like Don Johnson who won $15.2 million playing blackjack, when asked to explain what his secret was, Johnson smiled and then he explained he needed only two things to beat the house: good skills and a plan. Having skills in every battle would be a great advantage but it won't work if you do not plan something, so it is a matter of combination between skills and plans.

Every successful professional gamblers treat gambling as a sport and like disciplined athletes, they don't let their emotions get the better of them. There will be bets you win and bets you lose. If you let the excitement or sadness get to you, you will end up making bad gambling decisions.

If you are going to ask any professional gamblers how do they survive at the tables. No matter how good you are, they will tell you this: it's inevitable that you will have a bad string of results Ir even a bad year so we should always accept that we can lose the game.

Gambling facts:
There are some gamblers who believe in superstition. Every time you watch or read something about gambling, the hero of the story goes on a winning streak as soon they bet on their lucky number, or keep a lucky clover close to their heart. If you think these things work, don't gamble. As you can read on this article that explains how to win at Blackjack every time you play, superstition has nothing to do with your success rate at the table.
Source: https://www.casinosmash.com/casino-strategy/professional-gambling-secrets-2652.htm
Lol, I don't believe it was just skill and "a plan" that helped him win $15.2 million. If it was skills and plans that is helping him win millions, then why isn't he a billionaire by now. Why don't we see his name on the list of richest persons? I would say he just got lucky! Luck played vital role for him on winning.

True, luck has nothing to do with those superstitious believes. Isn't it why we call it superstition (irrational believe)?
3312  Economy / Economics / Re: Epidemic to Pandemic to Diaster-Cycle on: May 12, 2020, 12:27:24 PM
i thought the first case was on china's wuhan because this is the first epicenter of the virus  . the spread only continue because workers and travelers from china are going back to thier hometown without knowing that they are carying the disease  . country was stable before the attack happen but there are still problems that people face of course . also crypto market that time was not really that stable  but the virus only make them worst  . bangladesh isnt the only country that is affected with it but governments show thier support for now luckily   .
You are correct. The virus originated from China and people suspect that it started from Wuhan city near a wet market (and then there is a lab and people suspects that the virus was leaked from that lab, but lets not get into those conspiracy theories). The spread did not continue because people were travelling all over the world with the virus. Yeah, it did spread out for travelling but the people did not know because the Chinese government was hiding this outbreak and wanted to suppress all the information. Even after it came to our knowledge, they told us that it did spread from people to people!
3313  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't trade what you can't risk loosing on: May 12, 2020, 10:34:57 AM
Lol, he lost all 10 BTC? I would say that's bullshit and probably he didn't even invest anything. You should be next level stupid if you lose all 10 BTC during trading. Like did he just choose one coin and go all in? If someone sees that he is not making profit and starts to make huge loss, then if he is a sane person, he would just sell whatever he bought and save himself from further loss.
Even if you can afford to lose, don't make stupid trades/investments.
3314  Economy / Gambling / Re: My urge to go to land base casino in this lock down and how I fight it. on: May 09, 2020, 02:41:41 PM
That's really good that you are trying to fight your gambling addiction (or urge) during this lock down. The other few steps you mentioned are going to be quite helpful. But, instead of looking at those youtube videos that helps you to quit gambling, try talking to someone you trust a lot, someone who would never judge you for who you are.
Trust, talking and getting help from someone close is much better than watching those random "inspirational" youtube videos.
3315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering More or Wagering Less on: May 09, 2020, 02:23:29 PM
-snip-

Let me tell you that I agree with you

That said, if you are implementing some strategy that allows you to take home small profits while not taking many risks (yes, it is possible), it could formally be claimed that the more you wager the higher your returns are going to be. However, we should keep in mind that you can increase the wagered amount in two ways. The first way is to increase the size of your stakes, while the second to increase the number of your rolls without changing the size of your stakes
-snip-
Not really. Implementing "some strategy" won't make you rich. It still depends on your luck. If strategies would have made people win, then everyone would have applied strategy and the casinos would get cleaned. They would be forced to ban those strategies in order to operate.Lets say you are playing with a martingale where you keep on doubling the your bet amount every time you lose. Unless you have a infinite amount, in the long run you will lose. The more you keep on wagering, the higher chance of getting wiped.
3316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering More or Wagering Less on: May 09, 2020, 12:35:56 AM
It's a general perception that if we gamble more, we can get more profit. Also we see gambling sites offering wagering competitions. The more you wager, you become eligible for a reward or prize money.

What's your though on this ?   Wagering more makes you win more money in gambling?
The wagering contest is just totally out of context over here. The wagering contest is just a form of promotion, more like incentive or a cashback reward for heavy gamblers.
Wagering more does not make you rich automatically. You may wager for years and make no profit at all, while someone might just wager for a single day and become a billionaire. It all depends on your luck.
3317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Play? on: May 09, 2020, 12:01:41 AM
I don't know if there are already some casinos existing with the folowing features:

-In every losing bet, 1% of it will be donated to their handpicked charity
-For every win, only 95% of the pot will be transfered to your wallet and the remaining 5% will go to your handpicked charity that is also available on the platform.

If something like this exist, will you still play? Do you think it is a bad idea to make the users make a donation in this way?
The 1% might sound really small, but that's going to rack up when multiple bets are placed, which will hurt the bank roll in a real devastating manner. Again, what if after winning the bet (and 5% of it being donated), you lose what you won? This means you didn't donate anything, it was the casino that donate the 5% and the 1%. This would just never happen. Though casinos can donate an extremely small percentage of users loss. In case of winners, they can be given a choice to donate when trying to withdraw.

I would definitely play in one of those casinos!
3318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are research on altcoins for long term investment worth it?? on: May 08, 2020, 11:36:03 PM
Altcoins doesn't include only IEOs, ICOs and projects. There are also other well known and well established altcoins. Try looking into it. All those altcoins I am talking about does have some value and is used by everyone. So investing for a long term on these altcoins is actually a really good choice.
And yeah, its a waste of time looking at those new projects. Most of them are just scam.
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep track of your gambling? how? on: May 08, 2020, 09:36:51 PM
Didn't know there are people who thinks gambling is a form of investment. Wow. Even if it is, then it indeed is the riskiest of all kind of investment. Though I never consider gambling as an investment.
I think everyone keeps track of their gambling habit. All modern casino does have personal statistics included on their casino, thus there is no need of opening a spreadsheet and doing all calculations.
3320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will More Countries Introduce Crypto-friendly Legislation? on: May 08, 2020, 07:51:30 PM
Yeah, they might but I doubt its going to be anytime soon. Currently, there are many countries out there that are kinda against crypto currencies. The government of those countries itself uses the media to spread only the negative aspect of cryptocurrencies. But, they do have their own reasons.
More countries will start crypto friendly legislation, they may start making their own coins, but unfortunately, they are going to be more like a centralized coin.
