3301  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little sad story on: April 13, 2021, 12:00:29 PM
So I got some bonus from bybit.

I longed btc at first with 50x leverage (you do that with 'free' money), but since it was on the rise for last few days, thought it will dip and closed the long, opened short.

Got liquidated soon after.

Had I not closed the long, I would be in several double digit thousands of dollars profit today.

Rip

This is how you gain experience in trading. You lose money, while you learn... Sad
Using leverage is a great risk. It's more like gambling, rather than trading. You have to resist the inner desire to "leave the table" with your current profits and you have to wait for the right moment to play your cards.
Some traders get overconfident after a few successful trades. They think that they can read the market, until the market punishes them in the end.
I guess that's why crypto exchanges offer bonuses. They want to incentivize risky crypto trading. Sad
3302  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC reached ATH 62K - are we on another milestone, 100K? on: April 13, 2021, 11:38:01 AM
I think that this is more like a price bubble that will burst, rather than a stable growth towards the 100K level.
There will be price corrections and the Bitcoin price will fall below 60K USD for sure. The price correction might not be followed by panic selling, since most of the traders and HODLers have very bullish expectations in the long term, but I'm sure that there will be a price correction.
Anyways, let's just celebrate the new Bitcoin ATH.More ATHs might be coming in the next months. Grin
3303  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the Market is Thinking About Bitcoin Differently on: April 13, 2021, 05:50:03 AM
If everybody is HODLing and nobody is buying, the BTC price won't go up.We need more buyers than HODLers.
If the Bitcoin market becomes stagnant, more and more HODLers will get tired of waiting for a new ATH,so they will start selling a part of their BTC.This will create more selling pressure and the lack of enough buyers will lead to a bear market.Having a bear market for a few months will change the expectations for a new ATH,so less people will HODL Bitcoins in the long term.
3304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity, Coinbase and Square establish a crypto council this month on: April 13, 2021, 05:31:58 AM
Quote
They will make this appear that this is a step forward, however, the formation of the Crypto Council for Innovation is a strategy to influence policy makers to protect the council’s self interests, to support their own agendas and control everything. They want the cryptospace to be their playground. They do not care about you.

Coinbase,Fidelity and Square are private companies.Their main goal is to make profits. There's nothing wrong with that.Do you expect them to act as if they are some sort of charity foundations?
Do you really think that they can try to "control everything" inside the crypto industry?
The average cryptocurrency enthusiast hates control and centralization,so these companies will lose customers immediately,if they try to do something wrong.
It's good to have lobbyists defending the cryptospace and trying to get support from the politicians.

3305  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you doing when you make your way down? on: April 13, 2021, 05:07:11 AM
What are you likely to do if you sell near the high, maybe in early Q1 2022? Should you buy put options or go short on futures? In a recent interview with Peter McCormack, Willy Woo proposed a high yield arbitrage fund.

I don't want to fumble this. Perhaps trying to time the top is the first bad step, and HODLing on the way down is preferable—it all seems too exhausting.

What are your thoughts?

HODLing Bitcoins is not exhausting.Just don't pay attention to the Bitcoin price and you'll be fine.
I don't want to deal with futures trading or call/put options. If I ever sell BTC during a ATH,I would just wait for a price correction and buy cheap Bitcoins. There's no need for me to use derivatives like futures and options.AFAIK,using financial derivatives comes at a cost.I don't want to pay additional fees.
Nobody knows what will the Bitcoin market look like in Q1 2022.
Can you give a link to this interview?
3306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Bitcoin is the laughing stock of our firm” on: April 12, 2021, 12:15:31 PM
Haters gonna hate and trolls gonna keep trolling...Let them do what they are going.
Nocoiners and Bitcoin haters will continue to hate, even when the Bitcoin price hits 100K or 200K USD.
Should we pay attention to the trolls?Nope,we are feeding the trolls with our attention.Do not feed the trolls..
I'm a Bitcoin maximalist and I don't like the altcoin market, but having competition is supposed to be good, even though Bitcoin doesn't have any competitors. Undecided

3307  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there such thing as a “safe strategy”? on: April 12, 2021, 11:50:01 AM
There's no such thing as "safe strategy".There are low risk/low profit strategies and high risk/high profit strategies.I wouldn't even call them strategies, because a strategy is more like a plan.
This is just trader tactics. Some traders love taking risks, while others want stability and predictability, combined with low profit margins.
I consider crypto day trading to be riskier than buying Bitcoin/altcoins and HODLing them in the long run.
Buying tokens, issued by new crypto projects is extremely risky.I do not recommend it to newbies traders.
3308  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia; The digital ruble will be launched in 2023 on: April 12, 2021, 06:12:21 AM
Digital ruble,digital euro,digital yuan...
They will be created to serve for the same purposes-cashless society, less money laundering, more tax revenue, less anonymity, more transparency...This is financial totalitarianism. The governments will control our finances and take away our freedom and privacy. They will do this, while pretending to fight tax evasion and money laundering.Pretending that they will create a better financial infrastructure, that is more efficient and safe. This is all just lies and propaganda.
CBDC is still just a concept, but central banks are working hard to bring CBDCs into reality.
3309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting Miners Total Stopped selling Bitcoin on: April 12, 2021, 05:56:32 AM
Still same, Miners still not selling anything,  They know April always been Best month for Bitcoin with last years over 30% up each april Wink

Yeah, but there's no "best month" or "worst month" for Bitcoin. The market just reacts to different events and those events happen to be in various months. The 2020 March Bitcoin price crash was caused by Trump closing the borders.Should we say that March is a bad month for BTC?I don't think so...
Everyone is expecting the Bitcoin price to hit 100K.That doesn't mean that the price will hit 100K.There might be more ups and downs, than we are expecting.
Users are moving their coins away from crypto exchanges platforms, which is a good sign, but not because of the bullish market, but because crypto exchanges are bad for the crypto industry. They are becoming the new banks of the crypto world and we don't need banks.
3310  Economy / Speculation / Re: small price correction after this bullrun on: April 12, 2021, 05:34:55 AM
People try to guess this cycle BTC price peak and we all know that prices in the 6-digit range is mentioned. but what i am afraid of this time is something different. let's say we reach 150-300K max  but after that we don't see the typical 70-90 % correction that most people expect to happen again. in this case people who will sell will most likely not be able to buy back again. due to the big money invested by institutions and larger scale adoption the bear could be less punishing than prior bears this time. i think about this possible scenario. what's your thought on this guys?

I think that most of the cryptocurrency traders have learned their lessons the hard way,so they won't fall again into the panic selling trap.Even if a small price correction occurs, most of the traders will just HODL.
A huge price crash will happen, only if there is some major government FUD attack or some institutional investor mass selling BTC.Those two events are highly unlikely to happen in the short term.
The "bears" aren't "punishing" anyone. They are just taking advantage of a decreasing price. Grin
3311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bloomberg predicting BTC reaching $400K in 2021 on: April 09, 2021, 11:25:59 AM
Bloomberg cannot predict anything.
I think that they just asked some crypto analyst for his opinions and he shared his extremely bullish views about the future of Bitcoin.
If they asked some anti-Bitcoin FUDster, the analysis would be totally different-Bitcoin is a giant bubble, which is about to burst, please do not buy BTC,you are putting your money at great risk,etc..
400K in 2021 is an insane prediction.Such price level would require massive FOMO/hype and trillions of dollars, invested in Bitcoin. This ain't gonna happen in 9 months.
3312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Could Be Chinese ‘Weapon’ on: April 09, 2021, 11:08:31 AM
People keep talking that China controls Bitcoin since 2016.So far, there's no valid evidence to prove this claim.
If Bitcoin is a Chinese "financial weapon",then how the Chinese will use it against USA?
Crashing the Bitcoin price,so many US investors will lose their money? This seems like the most obvious way to use BTC as a weapon, but how many big investors have bought BTC-Microstrategy,Tesla and bunch of other companies. Is this enough to cause severe damage to the US economy?Nope,I don't think so.
This is just another clickbait article with no facts and proofs.

3313  Economy / Economics / Re: Are "Work Ethics" & "American Dream" a way to keep people working hard? on: April 09, 2021, 06:02:53 AM
It doesn't matter how hard you are working. What matters is do you really like your job/business?
If you work hard on a shitty job, then your life is going to be miserable. If you truly enjoy your job/career,hard work won't be a problem for you.The main goal is to find your purpose in life. This is easier said than done.I still don't know what is my purpose of life.
The "American dream" and the "protestant work ethic" are just ways to explain the "hard work pays off" cliche.
And yes,it's always better to work something, instead of being lazy and wasting your life, doing nothing every day
3314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US idea to counter China attack with bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 05:49:23 AM
It seems to me that this post is full with BS:
1.If China has adopted Bitcoin, then why cryptocurrency trading is banned there?
2.If China (the Chinese government) is mining Bitcoin, then why there are rumors of crypto mining being banned there?
3.USA is actually more Bitcoin-friendly than China.That's a fact.
4.China doesn't own Bitcoin. The Bitcoin miners located in China are private companies. They own Bitcoins.
5.Bitcoin isn't illegal in the USA.
6.USA and China have a difficult relationship, but Bitcoin has nothing to do with it right now.BTC is still insignificant.
3315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tenants to pay rent with bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 05:35:57 AM
Those tenants must be really stupid to pay their rent using Bitcoin. What if the Bitcoin price hits the moon after they pay?Instant regret. Grin
It's way better to use fiat money for any type of payments and keep/hoard more BTC.
Bitcoin will be adopted everywhere, when the Bitcoin price becomes more stable. This might never happen, but having more institutional investors in the market should stabilize the price a little bit.
3316  Economy / Economics / Re: The total value of the crypto currency market is near $2 trillion on: April 08, 2021, 11:10:10 AM
All those market caps and market "value" you are writing about are overinflated due to the Federal Reserve money printing.I don't believe that Google,Facebook and Amazon are worth several trillion dollars.
The financial markets are in a total "madness mode".No wonder that the crypto market cap reached 2 trillion dollars.2 years ago,if somebody told me,that the crypto market cap will exceed 1 trillion USD in 2021,I would think that he is crazy. We live in crazy times. Angry
3317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next big news? on: April 08, 2021, 10:53:08 AM
Btc is hovering between $56k to $58k, it needs some more good news to cross this $60 mark.
After PayPal, which next business giant is going to endorse Bitcoin?
What should we expect in coming days that can push btc to more adoption and expedite it's March towards $1 million?

Why do you even care? The price will cross the 60K USD level sooner or later.
The Bitcoin price doesn't need "good news" in order to grow.We need more buyers, both institutional and small buyers.I think that the buyers will increase their purchases after a price correction.Nobody wants to buy expensive BTC.That's why many buyers will be waiting for a correction, before buying more BTC.
I don't know what big corporation will endorse BTC next.I don't have a crystal ball or insider information.
I'm not sure that Paypal will ever truly adopt Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.
3318  Economy / Economics / Re: There must be more banks in the world than number of cryptocurrencies on: April 08, 2021, 05:53:14 AM
1.The quantity of the banks doesn't matter.
2.Banks have nothing to do with the stability of fiat money.Fiat money are stable, because they are a legal tender and their supply is still limited(despite the massive money printing).
3.Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are created as an alternative to the banking system.
4.Banks are crucial for every economy, because every business needs loans,in order to survive and grow.
Why are you making a comparison between the amount of banks and the number of cryptocurrencies?
Such comparison is totally pointless.

Can Bitcoin create careers and jobs within the ideals?

Bitcoin cannot create jobs, because Bitcoin is not a company. Grin
I guess that by "Bitcoin" you mean the cryptocurrency industry. The crypto industry can create jobs, but you have to be skilled at programming and web design,in order to be hired.
The biggest benefit of Bitcoin is "being your own bank"(unless you are storing your coins inside a crypto exchange platform).
What do you mean by "jobs within the ideals"?Getting paid a high salary for sitting on your ass in front of a computer all day?No job is ideal.
3320  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin may go bull soon on: April 08, 2021, 05:20:00 AM
At this point, everyone on the crypto market expects the price to go up-The crypto whales, traders, miners, the average Bitcoin HODLer....
Everyone will be surprised, when the price won't be going up.The bullish expectations can turn pretty easily into bearish reality. At some point, the greed will turn into fear and a big part of the HODLers might start selling BTC,just to keep their profits from the previous bull runs. There's nothing wrong with that.Bitcoin is bullish in the long term, but there will always be a risk of bear markets in the short term.
