3301  Other / Meta / Re: Earning merits/smerit on: March 02, 2018, 03:46:41 PM
Earning merits are quite difficult but its for the forums sake to avoid low quality post. Spamming is the number 1 problem in this forum but now, the merit system is implemented the shit posters are lessen. So lets just report them so that they will be elimanated or get banned.

Also, from this thread, we can say that farmed account users are now having a hard time ranking up all their accounts at once. Also we can see their connections to each other since they are giving merits to each other. Merit is doing pretty well not only on shitposters or spams but also in these matter, not only doing well, it is doing great.
That's why they try to make cheat, because they want to ranked up so fast. Merit system is a good challenged to all users but due high numbers of cheaters reputation a this system was starting to fall down.

People will find their ways to overcome something but they are doing it in the wrong way. Still, if they figure something out to abuse the system; there will be always someone that will find them doing it wrong and the mods giving the right punishment for their wrongdoings.

Let's not focus on these people that want to earn their merit and climb to the top abusing the system, it is not our job though we can help, let's focus more on making and creating good posts that will earn our well-deserved merits.

So its a fork of the old Bitcointalk?  Roll Eyes

Kudos to you and whoever helped you made that forum, I think I'll register there, wala naman mawawala.

I just joined this forum and it has a fresh look than this forum that we used to. They have other things that this forum don't have like reactions and leaderboard.

All in all, the members are still few and it is great exploring the forum without any spam though you can only a few threads since it is still new. I hope more Filipino members visit and join the new forum.
3303  Other / Meta / Re: 14 merit bonus for quality users [Jr to Sr. Member] on: March 02, 2018, 10:29:55 AM
I am not proud of those 20 posts but I think I can test them here if that is worthy of merit or not.

I hope you can spend some time looking at them.

How am I going to receive the 14merits, if you already give it to hugeblack???

Well. the OP actually said:
*arbitrary amount is because of the sMerit I have left.
The OP will not only give 14 merits to one people but some of the people that he will be agreeing on based on their posts.
3304  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 02, 2018, 10:22:13 AM
The problem in this merit system is the merit count that you can send to others is very limited ( specially when you have a low rank account when the time merit system invented ).

So you want a sMerit that is not limited? That might be a problem if that happens. I think the merit system is not that limited since you can have 1 sMerit for every 2 merits you receive.

What if Sir theymos update this kind of merit system, atleast adding 1 merit everyday (sendable merit).

That will be a lot of merit and it will be obviously abused by the members who has a lot of accounts, don't you think?

Like my rank, I sent my merit to someone worth it, that's why I don't have smerit even I see a quality post while browsing here in bitcointalk.org.

Well, you give your merit to a one member. I do not know if that is worth it or intentional since there is a lot of thread here that is more worthy than that 2 posts.

Hoping that this message can caught the attention of the Admin theymos.

I think so, but I think it will just be ignored .

3306  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be the signs a big dip is coming on: February 28, 2018, 11:13:48 AM
I was expecting a dip before now but it's not happened.  What are the signs a big dip is about to happen.  Would it be at a particular time of day or would there be signs in the price that a fall is about to come.   Or would it be totally unexpected and just suddenly happen.  And the same for a huge rise?

Being an investor of a volatile and decentralized digital currency, you must rely more on your experience and the price charts. As a trader, price charts are your companion and it will help you through your trading activities. I am not that professional in terms of trading though I know something that can help. Price charts gives pattern to traders that might help them, you can just read these article for it. Though I don't really know if this will help you or not.

3307  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Hirap sa English on: February 28, 2018, 07:18:06 AM

We can't just rely on google translate. If you will be copying a long article there and translate that to tagalog, there will be grammars and words that will not be translated. If we will be relying on it, your grammar might be infected by how the google translate do it. As far as I know, the google translate change/translate the word one by one.
3308  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Napapansin niyo ba napapansin ko? on: February 27, 2018, 12:52:10 PM

Thank you...

Im sorry but I dont really know what is the meaning of "kapagbigayan". I am a millenial and I think most of our members here are the same. If they will be reading this title they might be confused so I think I will go with the term "pabuya" since it is more popular and known unlike the other one. That is just my suggestion, I do not want to offend anyone here.

Since we already have a child thread here in the local thread which is also named in English, I guess English will pair good. But I do get the point of sir Rickbig41 that a Tagalog name will do great since this is a Philippine Thread.
3309  Local / Pamilihan / Re: HYIP,Ponzi Scam, Paano nga ba natin Maiiwasan ito ? on: February 27, 2018, 11:46:29 AM
As we all know many people especially Filipino's are taking their chances to get more financially stable here in Crypto industry and some of them are taking their time learning how and what Crypto can do, they even study the market charts and routines. Like this airbit that's recently take the mainstream media na namention ni Erwin tulfo sa kanyang pagbabalita.

Because they are not reading the project very carefully. There is a lot of ICOs and new projects that is circulating the market, there are people who do not pay attention to the projects that he or she is putting his or her money especially those projects that is like a taken for granted project. Investing is a risk, so that is common to lose some of your investment in a project. Read their road map, read the plan of their project because if you are taking it seriously, you will know if that is a scam or not.

BTW, I don't think that you deserve that merits, that is a lot for this post, well, what can I do right.
3310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gaming is now a Disorder on: February 27, 2018, 10:43:33 AM
Many children and teens are addicted to online games, they sleeping late, eating late because of playing, thats why they is gaming is a disorder. We must discipline our child in using gadgets and internet, they must have time in studying, and playing games. Parents should educate their child so that they wilp not be addicted in internets and gadgets.

I think these children and teens are not the only one on fault since they are guided by their family or their guardians. If they are still addicted to it, then I think the guardians are not doing their responsibility right. Also, gaming is not that new to our world, in fact there are schools that offer courses that includes playing and computer games.

Game is the new sport of the future, there might be a lot of people that are addicted to it, but there are also some people who get some profits or salaries from their gaming activities.
3311  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Hirap sa English on: February 27, 2018, 09:08:25 AM

This makes sense since my father always bring Hollywood movies every time he goes back to other country. I always watch that kind of movies since I am an Elementary student, picking up some English lines and terms that I can use at school until time flies and I can speak the language but still not that fluent since I still have some errors to it.

I think this one might be a problem since not all of the members here will be interested in that kind of articles and news. Though if they really want to construct a quality post, they must read some information about digital currency. Reading any books as long as it is English, it will be of help.

This will be the best one if you will be wanting to speak fluently in English. Though I can suggest that if you want to really construct a quality post, using a dictionary and reading English articles and also posts here will be a great help.
3312  Other / Meta / Re: Drawbacks of Merit System on: February 27, 2018, 07:03:45 AM
i changed font as it's more easy for me to read in that font than normal one

You should keep this in you mind whenever you are posting in this forum or any other forum, you do not post because you will be the only one reading it. The reason you are posting here that means you are sharing some information and opinion that will be read by a lot of members of this forum.

bottom line i didn't make that post to complain , i said it needs some "Modifications"

I don't think so, how about this lines?

I know that there are many other threads about merit points between supporter and opponent . i know moderators have implemented this system to raise quality of posts but is it the right way to do it ?!!

For example , some people just post simple replies to threads (including me) regarding rating portfolios , opinion about some coins , advantages & disadvantages , coins with potential , under radar ,.... etc .
Does that mean it's not quality posts !!

i saw many hero&legendary members have posts to give people merit points depending on quality of their posts , what i noticed is that they looking for Flawless ones like a a whole comparison of privacy coins with details of their technology anything less than this isn't considered a quality post for them

this is a community where people ask for advice and share info and not every reply have to be complicated to get a merit point , as long it convey member point of view , it's good .

low rank members have very low numbers of Smerit to give like i have only 5 points ! , i keep seeing good reply but can't decide whether it's qualified for point or not as if i gave him just 1 point , it's 1/5 of my total points !  . that way it gets really had to get enough points to rank up .

I think these lines count as complains.
3313  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: New Issue for Ranking and Merit System. on: February 27, 2018, 05:47:32 AM
It is a good idea, though it is also a bad idea. Not all of the jr. Members here in the forum are alt account of a higher rank member. Remember that when you make an account here in the forum, you need to pay for it. Increasing the required merit for ranking up will just create more complains.

Also, members will gain merit to reach a hundred to be a full member. I think that is fair enough, unless you relly have some members that will give you merit.

3315  Local / Pilipinas / Re: What really is happening. on: February 26, 2018, 06:44:24 PM

We all did, luckily I sold my holding early since the price is so awesome to pass. I've been holding my altcoins for a long time now and that is the time I've sold them, and it really gave me a good profit.

Sadly, that is how people will react since they are used to bitcoin pumping rather then dumping.

That is the best choice. As I've read a thread, the movement of bitcoin these past months are not because of banning of China to Bitcoin. It is dumping since bitcoin is actually a volatile currency.
3316  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Cryptocurrency as part of the syllabus in business courses on: February 26, 2018, 03:47:37 PM
What do you think? Should our universities and colleges educate the future workforce about cryptocurrencies?

Students, to be exact the millennials need to be educated about these technology. This technology will not only be an asset, a trading tool for us but in the future, it is a great tool to be used not as an asset but as a currency the reason they need to be taught about it. But I am not saying that it can be a course since it is not that hard to understand. Some of the teachers I know already told their students about it especially the economic teacher.

When I am also observing a class with a taxation class, they also encountered the term "crypto currency" which really makes me more interested to listen and that confirms that not all of the people are aware of this break through. In the end, they really need to be educated about it but not that far that they need to add it in a curriculum or make a course out of it since it is over the internet, there are even a lot of site that offers crpytocurrency as a course online, you can search them.
3317  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Other Ways To Get Merits on: February 26, 2018, 01:43:35 PM

We do not hate Newbies, for me they are the ones that needs to be guided and be offered help.

That is the point. Being a newbie doesn't mean you must post hastily. Being a newbie focuses more on reading than posting since they do not have anything to post since they do not have a knowledge to post or to share some thoughts to others unless you already have the knowledge before joining this forum. There is a lot of pinned posts here in the local board and I think if you are really wanting to post here to gain knowledge, you can read that beforehand since most of the people I knew read that pinned posts and more pinned posts outside this local thread.

I know that is bad in the side of the high ranks but there is a lot of newbies out here that are only wanting to have their way unto high ranks the reason there are a lot of members of these forum in these board that hates that kind of posts. You must also know the side of us high ranks and not only the side of the low ranks.

I am not judging you or anything with this post but I only just want to say this as a member. My posts are also being deleted a lot of times now so you can't say that you are the only ones experiencing that.

I gained my merits because I know something that I can share to the members of this forum and I spend my time making those posts. I don't gain that because of having a lot of accounts but because I am exerting effort to my posts since then.

Read this thread for Newbies. This might answer some of your complains and some of the things you still do not know.

I saw many hero&legendary members have posts to give people merit points depending on quality of their posts , what i noticed is that they looking for Flawless ones like a a whole comparison of privacy coins with details of their technology , anything less than this isn't considered a quality post for them !

If you will be tracking the merits given by these members, you will not see not all of them are like that. Every members has their own point of view what is a quality post and what is not.

Another point, low rank members have very low numbers of Smerit to give like i have only 5 points ! , i keep seeing good reply but can't decide whether it's qualified for point or not as if i gave him just 1 point , it's 1/5 of my total points !  . that way it gets really had to get enough points to rank up .

Giving some sMerits does't mean that you will reduce you're merits. Please read the post of theymos again.

not all users here are Native-speakers ( i'm one of them ) their posts might not be as good as a native one , although some might see it as a low quality but i real they just have a tough time expressing their opinions . and local sections aren't active only very few languages you can say it's live .

The reason most of the members that do not speak English fluently needs to stick in their Local boards than making low quality posts outside their local thread.

people are already abusing points and there are some posts about that issue . i like this system but it needs some modifications to make this forum HEALTHY AND FAIR TO EVERYONE .[/size]

I've been saying this a lot of times but please, if you know someone who are abusing the system, report them to the people that can give them their deserved punishment.
3319  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Other Ways To Get Merits on: February 26, 2018, 11:40:49 AM
I made a thread regarding the spreading of Merits here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2910923.40

I want to share my smerits to people or members of these forum that deserves them. But there are a few people whose interested in that thread and they are just giving their point of view in these situation not putting links in that thread to be merited by me. So in order for me to spread my merit, I just look up some of good posts in the Services posted in the Smerit Reviews by Bill Gator and there I merit some of the good posts I can read.

If you have some good posts you know that is qualified to be merited, post it here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2819141.0. If you deserve the merit, he will be giving you some depending on the quality of the post and other people that will read that post.
3320  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitcoin to Game Developers on: February 25, 2018, 05:41:38 PM
How do you think can bitcoin affect the companies/developers who manages online games if they want to be part of this? Will it be alright if they  use this as part of their payment option on the game even if the rate of Bitcoin isn't stable?

For me Games and Gamers will be a huge part in the future of crypto currency especially cryptocurrency mining. This companies in the future will accept digital currencies as a payment, with a lot of gamers who do not really want to pay their games using their own identity, they also want to be anonymous since there are some games that is quite awkward to buy in a store. When it comes to mining, more gamer will be wanting to mine altcoins since they have the hardware for mining since most of the high end PC for gaming is also good for mining digital currencies.
