33081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: February 07, 2016, 11:15:41 PM
Hello EH/s! Thank you Bitfury!

Sad part is that I don't think this is even bitfury stuff. They are supposed to get delivery of their wafer orders this month.

Are you 100% sure on that information? Maybe it's what the public must know. Their wafers are already hashing Wink
It's not our stuff. As jstefanop said, our wafers are still in production. You can easily see Bitfury hashrate from https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC

so you don't have bitfury chips mining away at .1 watts?
33082  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Issues with newbie on: February 07, 2016, 11:10:12 PM
Yes you're right there was something wrong with the Ethernet cable once I changed it the scoring hash rate came back to 1100 gh/s
Thanks for your help.

One question more:
Is it better to continue with slush pool or go to kano.is
And what is the difference between them

I am partial to Kano.is mainly because he was a major developer of the mining code cgminer.

I wrote a long write up on why I think his pool it the best choice.

Since I started the write up he went from good to better.

But like any pool your connection to the pool is important.

If your connection  to both pools is equal I believe Kano.is is the best choice for you.

this is my writeup as to why you and for that matter anyone with a good connection should use kano.is

33083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 Whisteling sound on: February 07, 2016, 11:05:27 PM
Yeah set your fans at 55% here is a secret top speed on these fans is about 4400

And 65-70% setting will get you to that 4400 level

55% should get you around 3500 to 3800 rpm

Do that and see if temps remain at 60 to 65 c

Crazy how they have millions in a single btc address wow.  I would be spreading my funds around in a bunch of addys in case something happened...

Anyway mining is still going nuts and there is no ceiling in sight, havling is not that far off either.  I would call this a bit of a hash war seeing the huge amounts of network power going online.  So I guess the mega miners claim their spot in the network and they have such cheap electricity and efficient chips that they can take the diff increase and then lose half their revenue at halving.

Right now I do not know what to guess.

But I am a 10-12 thousand usd guy.

My mix is 1/3 in coins 1/3 in gear 1/3 cash.

I was going to do a third group buy on the avalon6s but I am not so sure.
33085  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Re round three of Avalon group buy. interest page. on: February 07, 2016, 10:55:25 PM
actually the wait for the buy is making it look like 875 is not low enough.

on monday we can decide.

At next diff of 175G, and if it does not go up anymore it's almost 8mo ROI with FREE power. I think it needs to be priced at 175G diff at least.

Yeah for now I am holding off for a day.

While I Like having gear 20% jumps back to back may force me to handle my moves another way.

So think tues collect weds send.  Or maybe no buy at all.

Hi. I started mining on CKpool on January 19, 21:10. I have accumulated a certain amount on rewards. The payouts however do NOT reflect the accumulated rewards. I need to contact CKpool to remedie the problem.

GNicolas

what is the issue?

this is what we are paid up to  block 397140

notice that I do match 0.01842464 BTC

there is one reason you would not match that is if you are dust btc.  ie very tiny btc like 0.00000055

congrats! and i initially thought a 20+ percent guess was nuts...

looks to be 20% again  which will kill off  some s-5's

if we do 20% to 175 a 6 cent price  for power and s-5's are about dead

Bitwisdom Starting the week:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    144,116,447,847
Estimated Next Difficulty:    174,664,592,904 (+21.20%)
Adjust time:    After 1907 Blocks, About 12.3 days

Price around 376.  Hopefully price does a little jump during this difficulty that would be nice.

It  is pretty obvious that some very big farms are building up here.  I still find that bitmaintech is holding on to more then 24,000 coins

so the four I am  running   do 4080/13145 or 0.31 watts a gh

sound levels in the garage are under 60db I will measure.

at couch in den/ht with garage door open 39.9db

at garage door entrance 48.1db

closer to the gear it is next to the garage door on the left about 15 feet from the meter in my hand 55 db

lastly about 4 or 5 feet away it is 63.7 db

I had 1 Sanyo san ace 120 fan and replaced the New fan.

bottom far left is the sanyo new replacement
runs at 3900 to 4200 keeps gear cool

close up of it

here is a close up of the rev 2 oem fan
pretty loud

here is a close up of the rev 1 oem fan
pretty quiet at the 2900rpm level

a shot of power used 17 amps at 240 volts  = 4080 watts

4 units do  13145gh
33094  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Re round three of Avalon group buy. interest page. on: February 07, 2016, 05:59:39 PM
im interested if the price is right

price is 875 and a little to ship  I am in New Jersey where are you? FL correct?

We are close to at least 10 pieces.

I will open for coins on Monday and close on Tuesday

try to be ready with coin.

crap.. i wont have the coins by monday.. coinbase takes 6 days to many....

That's always been my holdup and the reason I will be out of this buy (i'd like one more).  That's ok though.  I need to settle in with the few i have for a bit and watch the diff increases do a number on everyone!

none of my business, but it looks like coinbase does not bestow a $1000 instant buy account limit anymore.
they used to do it for basically anyone.

You have to have a credit card on file now in order to receive the $1,000 Instant Buy

coinbase is like dealing with a bank.

I can buy 1000 instantly

I can sell 50,000 a day ------ not instant
I can buy 50,000 a day ------ not instant

They have a major CC and a 4mb photo of my passport.

I could of used a 4mb photo of  my drivers license  with a major cc.

Back to the miners

this is a good replacement  fan

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YOC80IO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A1JKGKBA82098O

it cools better then the newer fan and it is quieter then the newer fan.

I will order a case of them and toss one in each avalon6 box that comes to me.

note the high light that is the new model with the replacement fan.

33095  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: selling miners on: February 07, 2016, 03:16:06 PM
after all i heard from you guys and thıs dif. i think ill just keep minig with the ones ı already got and invest the 30 k in a server farm since my power cost are so low
THX for you help guys.

So your power is 1.2 cents a kwatt?

Where do you live?

If in the USA you could buy avalon6 and have them in a few days

My group buy is able to get them at 875 use.

Do you really have 1.2 cent power?
33096  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: February 07, 2016, 03:10:24 PM
Got my 2 new Avalon6 all setup and running!  Easy as plugging them in, logging into the UI and setting up the pool.  They are a little louder than I was expecting based on videos I'd watched (but that's because they are the rev2 miners).  Nowhere near as loud as my S5, thankfully.  Running about 3.5TH each on EVGA 1300 G2 PSUs at 12.0V and default settings.

I'll probably goof around and see if I can get them running on a Pi using standard cgminer - without the openwrt-based firmware that came with the Pi/SDCard combo I got with the miners.  I've got the spare Pi and it's got cgminer 4.9.2 compiled and built with the avalon4 support enabled (it currently runs my 5 U2 sticks).  All told I've got about 9TH now in house and all of it's pointed to my pool.

I've also got a bunch of S3s to sell now, too Smiley
why the avalon 6 instead of the ant S7?

Well having owned both the s-7 has a huge downside if it is broken replacements take weeks at best.
Or like me I got an under performing s-7.  About 4500 gh not 4860 gh.

This was a batch 1 to this day they have not given me anything to compensate for this shortage of hash.
I purchased seven more s-7 unit asked for a coupon to make up for my shortfall in hash.
Nothing.

On the avalon6 I burnt a board and got a replacement board in under a week.

The newer s-7s are prone to break down. So the edge in price is somewhat negated by terrible service.
For me I will not buy from bitmaintech until they compensate my batch 1.
I am not the only one that has had poor service from bitmaintech.
I can not speak for Jonny but this could be part of what he is thinking.

I think the nature of this betting game has so high level of probability (or variance if you want) that sticking to exact number to win a prize could cause to have no winner for unwanted amount of periods. I think it's better fun if there is always some winner.

We did allow endless rollovers  and it attracted a lot of scamming at the .3btc and the .4 btc levels.

I think 1 rollover and the lowball highball limits once the rollover stops is the best I can do.

And WTF its a free shot at coin.  Plus a place to BS.

@ Kexkey   I need your btc addy to pay you
