3321  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to mining and trying to learn, Antminer U2 setup question on: April 07, 2015, 07:50:20 AM
I'm trying to setup an Antminer U2 with multiplool but can't seem to get it to work.

I'm using the command line:

                        bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://us-west.multipool.us:7777 -u [MYUSERNAME] -p x

With cgminer I get "No devices detected" I see the device listed in both device manager and in Devices and Printers as Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (Com4)  It does eventually seem to find the device but It does not appear to be doing anything productive.  I keep getting in an endless loop:

Pool 0 difficulty changed to 16384

Also once working should I adjust the Bits per second in the hardware properties?  It's currently set at 9600.

hi jburke4 .
I think if you post some log or screen shot it could help to understand..
and maybe it is useful to help you!

like Subject,
how i can permanently drop a banned account?

it is possible?

and if not...
why it is not possible?

The modlog lists an autoban on the account bloodDiamond.
If you are still posting in sections outside meta (as you seem to be), it would be construed as ban evasion.

in the mod log i can see 4 type of activity:

"Delete reply" and "Remove topic"

are very explicit...

but this 2 activity???

"Nuke user"
"Autoban user"

what does it mean???

Nake user >  it is a permaBan

Autoban user>  a temporary ban

I don't think autoban is a temp ban.
In https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=833435.msg9315006#msg9315006, theymos said all bans listed on the modlog page are permanent.

Hum
Confused.
Can moderators clarify?
Many thaks

If the account is deleted, all posts will also be deleted or sometimes the username of OP will change to something else to keep the posts. It always is better to keep the posts because some of them maybe important.

Edit: shorena already answered.

ok...

now i understand...
thank you for the answer Muhammed!

i will change password with random GUID.

3328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a game of conviction on: April 06, 2015, 05:12:26 PM
Let me ask you one thing:

Who is that gives value to a "thing"? I think we are giving value to each thing in our life. The problem with the fiat value is that people are giving value to a piece of sheet so Why can't we give value to a byte (data)?

maybe because the majority of people are blind...
and the bitcoin community will educate to this new currency protocol,

then people will understand.

Good news but I guess the damage is done, and things will not go back to normal. I would never put any money in a Cypriot bank.

we will be safe from this bank rules,
when we will reach decentralization.
all bank power will be reset!

here's a basic misunderstanding.
The wealth of bitcoin is decentralization!!!
Many people just want to get rich with bitcoin buying to $ 1 and selling at $ 10.
but at the end, will only have dollars ... and will always be slaves of central power of the banks.

that's all.
What's your definition of slave? You can equally say that bitcoiners are slaves of bitcoins.

absolutely NO!
if you wan to do a payment, you do not need a third part bank services...
you manage your wallet.
you manage the payment.

remeber: decentralization it is the key!

that's all.
3332  Local / Trading, analisi e speculazione / Re: [ANALISI][Dati 26 gennaio] Il prezzo dei bitcoin on: April 06, 2015, 09:36:57 AM

3333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Interest... again on: April 06, 2015, 09:27:40 AM
Bitcoin has two major issues to overcome. The first is the fraud. People have lost their life savings to places like BTC trader and PB mining et al. All of the ponzi schemes and outright thefts scare people away faster than any media spun story about Isis or child pornography being related to bit coin.

Secondly, we have utterly failed to educate the public on the advantages of bitcoin. We talk about bitcoin technology and how it is the "internet of money" but as a day to day thing people know very little about it and even less about how to actually use it. I place blame primarily on the bitcoin foundation for that. They are supposed to be our voice to the world but all they seem to do is enrich themselves and allow corrupt individuals to create some token credibility by selling them memberships.

+1 to this. I have a feeling that most of community sits on their hands and waits for the price to go up. This is not gonna happen without strong promotion and involvement of all of its members. Regarding fraud, I ve already stated my position about this. Bitcoin needs a system/agency/legislation which would provide a consumer protection function. In other words, somebody you can ask for help if you get scammed when dealing with BTC.

sorry but....
i think bitcoin it is fighting right this...
i repeat...
decentralization is what bitcoin must reach!

Let the forum users knows you.
then, when you have got trust from community you can ask for loans
3335  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitln.co anyone used the service? on: April 06, 2015, 08:10:37 AM
You may give it a try for a small amount but I recommend to stay away.

I just registered with this bitcointalk because I bought some bitcoins at that site $100 worth and the company won't reply or give me the coins since purchase Feb 28. And the transaction says From Non-US Unverified. But on the site it has a US address.
Watch out!

Sorry I made a mistake with the site name see my other post below. it was Bitin.co that was the scam.

Its been a week with no communication. I should have cancelled the payment when I had the chance :-(
The minimum is $50 (notice where my "$" is also). I sent $53, so there goes the minimum theory.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE

^^I sent to a Non-US but verified on THE DAY of me sending the payment. I had a chance to cancel the payment, sigh.

Use this site to check for Paypal verified status:
https://www.paypal.com/us/verified/pal=[INSERT EMAIL ADDRESS HERE]

I have to issue an apology also. I to, made the same mistake.
Stay Away from:BitIn.Co
Bitin.Io Is a legit site.
Sorry for the confusion. (I'm sure they named their site as such to cause it)

thank you for the tip Muhammed Zakir.
a bookmark it in my black book!

3339  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Developing a multi-purpose mobile app HTML5 headaches on: April 06, 2015, 07:54:41 AM
Im in the stage where im developing a multi purpose mobile app for my services, and every othee service which may require these features. Some problem... The main problem now is really the design. I have tried several HTML5,CSS3,JS designs, but all of them are just too slow or just look too much like website.

Is there any suggestions, especially for designing mobile app templates? OR
would someone just team-up with me to build the required andriod app?

if it is just a layout problem
to do a responsive app you can try to use bootstrap framework
to stylize your app...
3340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Not Understanding Cold storage on: April 05, 2015, 08:02:00 PM
Use electrum. Create a new wallet and put those 12 words on a piece of paper. Then you can use the master public key on the computer. You can generate addresses and reciee receive on any of them but no one can touch your coins without that piece of paper. I would love to write you a tutorial if you are interested.

Electrum combined with a linux live cd should is the best "cold storage" method for you. Download and bootup a live cd, disconnect from internet, run electrum, mark down the 13 words (the newest electrum version uses 13 words), copy a few of your addresses into a text file. Then test your 13 words by rebooting with the live cd and recover your wallet with those 13 words. If you get the same addresses, you are safe to use them.

sure..
you can use live linux on usb or use and VMWare USB image to run Windows live if you do not
know linux operating system...
but i think linux use a very small amount of Gb
