3322  Other / Beginners & Help / Devalued coin scam attempt, newbies please be aware! on: June 01, 2021, 09:26:19 AM
As the title says, there are a few scammers (or a single scammer) trying to scam in a new way. It's new to me since I have seen such as attempt for the first time although this kind of scam isn't new in the forum. I will share the story.

I got a few PMs yesterday from several Telegram users. I have received PM from 3 individual users, but I am assuming it's a single person comparing writing style. They have asked me if I have any devalued coins to sell. When I receive this spam message then I realized a scammer trying to scam me. Then I said yes, I have a few devalued coins to sell. I just want to make sure they are a real scammer. Then I ask how the transaction will happen. So they provide me an escrow website called www.chesterpact.com. Then I realized that they will scam people with that website. I took a deep look at that website but didn't found any useful information at all. But eventually got a forum thread about this website, here is it. It's pretty clear there that the escrow website is a scam site. So, if you receive such as PM from any platform means you are going to get a scam if you make a deal with the scammer. Just don't be greedy for your devalued coins and don't lose them. Who knows if your devalued token sometimes becomes valuable assets. It's crypto and we don't know what will happen near future.
3323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News: RBI is directing Indian banks to stop deplatforming crypto customers on: May 31, 2021, 06:19:52 PM
Please avoid posting downloadable links from the forum. And don't copy-paste like this, just make a quote a part of the news and write some your own words as well. However, I read the news in Coindesk an hour ago, there are more details written. No doubts it's a piece of good news for us, not only for Indian citizens. As we can see many merchants suspended crypto payments getaway to accept cryptocurrency. So most likely they could start it again to use since there is no prevention from central banks. So it will keep a role in the overall crypto industry. But I am not so excited, because after a few days we will see another drama like before. I don't know the thoughts of the Indian government.
3324  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANn thread developed using imgur images - is it a right way to do it? on: May 31, 2021, 06:02:29 PM
~snip~
Still, I am confused what was the contract between you and OP. If the problem is just about inserting links on the thread then I think it could be solved easily. No need for much more arguments IMO. But I am assuming since the thread was a bounty thread, then OP is looking for signature code. Was that on your contract? Or anyone from you can describe more what was the real commitment between you? If we don't know the real story, then we can't judge anything even you create a scam accusation. Hope the problem will be solved.
3325  Economy / Reputation / Re: Seller of fake ratings and reviews of various important apps and websites. on: May 31, 2021, 05:45:05 PM
So the user in question has been evading the ban. Had anyone reported it on meta to take action from the moderator's ends? I have noticed this thread and had asked questions. It seems he is thinking that the service he has been promoting is legal. But he is breaking "Terms of Service" of many platforms like Google & Facebook. Since it's clear that he is breaking forum rules, so breaking other platform rules isn't hard for him, hence I believe this user is harmful to the forum. I have left negative feedback, hope who are encouraged to buy his services will aware of potential risk.
3326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is here to stay, do not panic on: May 30, 2021, 06:14:54 PM
Easy to say but hard to follow. When a piece of bad news pop-up then most holders become panic quicker, not only newbie. As a result, we encounter more dumps in the price. Even we know Bitcoin would pump back anytime but we don't have enough patience. Where patience ended, then start something good. I always face this issue, once I sold a coin the next day it starts to move upward. Now decide to hold Bitcoin and not to sell before reach it back $50K at least, now Bitcoin not moving (LOL). So it's true we shouldn't panic, we should more practice patience.
3327  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Serum fake tokensale website. on: May 30, 2021, 05:45:45 PM
If this is fake then what was the real site? I am asking because I am confused, is there any real Serum project? I am sorry but am not familiar if it exists. OP should write more details what was the real site and contract address as well if there is. So we can compare it. As we know it's not surprising on Telegram. Many scammers there around use and sending unsolicited PM regularly. Most of the time I just report and delete. Of course, I share with the community if there is enough time to share.
3328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin volatility on weekends on: May 30, 2021, 05:27:29 PM
Whales already manipulated markets which has a result in Bitcoin price. Now it's time to accumulate more Bitcoin and pump it slowly. For Bitcoin, if you expect a sudden pump it wouldn't happen right now since there is few bad news around us. So it will take time to pump it back again. Weekends don't mean actually coin should pump or dump. It fully depends on demand (buy or sell). Bitcoin was dumped by very big whales, so if need a pump now, then need a very big whale as well. Manipulate Bitcoin price isn't too easy right now. And that's the reason why Bitcoin isn't pumping.
3329  Other / Meta / Re: A question about unsolicited PMs on: May 30, 2021, 04:58:07 PM
Unsolicited PMs reports have been handling by humans, not by AI. So I believe forum moderators know what was the intention of the PM's and obviously they would have a standard to handle unsolicited PMs as well. That's why all moderators aren't involved with handling PMs. If you ask someone if he is interested or not working with you then you should have a clue why are you asking this question. Otherwise, still, it should consider unsolicited PM IMO. Moderators punish based depth of the reported PM how it is Unsolicited. There wouldn't a few limited rules of Unsolicited PM which shouldn't send to others.
3330  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much attention should be paid to forecast websites? on: May 30, 2021, 04:29:57 PM
How it should consider as a prediction site? It seems they predict for 5 days and the price should between $40992.959966455 and $33793.028229637. It's an idea that would be made by anyone who is familiar with crypto-currency. Forecast formate shouldn't like this. Personally, I don't believe in such as prediction site or signals site. Also, this site wouldn't be useful for us anyway. This is the worst forecast ever I have seen. Better to not follow them.
3331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANn thread developed using imgur images - is it a right way to do it? on: May 30, 2021, 04:14:04 PM
Can you specify to us that the contract was only for announcement thread design? Or the contract was including BBCODE's signature? If it was only for announcement design then nothing wrong with Imgur. It's enough to put all the designed images in Imgur. Actually designer should provide full design including links like website social media and so on. But for that, you should have a contract with the designer and should provide links. Before making an accusation you may share what was the real contract with the designer. Putting a link on the image isn't hard, but if you don't know it then instructions from Adobe. It should work fine.
3332  Other / Meta / Re: This thing with the accounts' farming has to stop... on: May 29, 2021, 06:03:24 PM
I have noticed these kinds of fake conversations thread where any alt account are involved. It's pretty clear account farmer just trying to increase account activity which would help him later to get in any Bounty, Airdrop, or other mini tasks. Since the forum allows create multiple accounts it's hard to prevent them unless they break obvious forum rules. Blaming altcoin also not appropriate without a proper connection between each account. So account farmers will exist. I have seen a few account sellers in Fiverr where they selling accounts with activity only. Because it's hard to earn merits for them. So I am assuming this would be a reason for account farming and involved with fake conversations.
3333  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New scam spacex coin on: May 29, 2021, 05:52:12 PM
Although scammer trying to make us fool, I don't think anyone will fall into that. Because who is familiar with Elon Musk will never invest in such as scam project since it's pretty easy to get an update from Elon Musk Twitter where he is most famous. Only stupids will fall into this scam. If Tesla decides to launch a coin then it will be announced officially. Not such as the way they will promote their coins. This isn't new that scammer using Elon Musk's name to scam us. Anyway, thanks for sharing with us, forum users would learn from here.
3334  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Who can stop Bounty Campaign Scam? on: May 29, 2021, 05:40:16 PM
You can stop. Yes, only you can stop being scam yourself. No one else can help you here except you. Simply avoid scammy projects would help reduce getting bounty scams. You are expecting money for spamming and they are scamming you. If you promote a scam project and by chance, a few investors lose money due to your spam then you are also responsible for that. Because you are spreading words about a project, but you don't have faith if it's a scam or not. Also, do you care about Bounty managers? Very rarely projects turned into scams managed by well-reputed managers. You should follow them only if you want to avoid being a scam. Also, you have to do your own research before starting a bounty project, there is no alternative.
3335  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase don’t allow to withdraw on: May 29, 2021, 01:17:31 PM
I haven't seen such as problem in Coinbase previously. A long time ago they blocked my account without providing any valid reason although my account was fully verified. But they give me options to withdraw my existing funds to an external BTC address. Is your friend made transactions to any gambling sites or any illegal site that are against Coinbase terms & Conditions? Not sure, but that would be a possible reason. Also, Coinbase support isn't too worst at all. So try to get responses from the support. I don't think there is any other solution except support.
3336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No One Can Shut Down Bitcoin on: May 28, 2021, 06:32:59 PM
Those who have minimum knowledge about decentralization or blockchain technology, they know it's impossible to stop Bitcoin anymore. It's not possible to stop by any government or centralized organization, because we don't need them to operate the Bitcoin blockchain. How anyone can stop? For example, if you are holding a million-dollar worth Bitcoin then you will start mining in case all manners decide to stop mining. So just imagine how many big holders in Bitcoin and will resume mining node. They won't dump themselves. So it's quite impossible to stop Bitcoin anyone since it's impossible to trace who is mining currently.
3337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips for newbie. on: May 28, 2021, 06:19:03 PM
@OP, one suggestion for you. Just read more as much you can rather than create a new topic which is really unnecessary. Nothing new on your thread nor useful much. Because many threads have been created to guide newbies by reputed users. If you search about newbie guidelines then I believe many threads will be pop-ups. So you can just participate in an existing discussion. This means we can prevent many spam and fake conversations as well. A few examples already in your thread.

Last but not least, once you care such as a thread and realize that really it wasn't necessary to create then please lock the thread from the lower left. This is what I do.
3338  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of Participant in the promotion of scam site. on: May 28, 2021, 05:57:16 PM
Flag (or maybe not suitable) won't stop these participant either, so negative tag for them or neutral and then ignoring them is a solution that other manager like you might find useful.
It was quite ridiculous when I visit 1xbit signature campaign participants. Because I found only one participant who does not have red tags, but he has neutral feedback from other DT members as a spammer. I don't know who accepted or not, I just follow who has worn 1xbit signature. So I left only one neutral feedback to users since that profile wasn't tagged. I don't think it's necessary to tag who already have a red tag for a various reason since I do not accept red-tagged user usually in my campaigns.
3339  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of Participant in the promotion of scam site. on: May 28, 2021, 01:18:10 PM
Do you think they care about negative feedback that applies to the 1xbit campaign? I don't think so and most of the user who has applied there are red tagged. I don't think a flag against participants is appropriate. The best solution is to add neutral feedback for future reference, so other managers would notice them before accepting. Most probably I will take a look at applicants to leave neutral feedback because I have to mark them since I am a campaign manager. By the way, most participants are just spammer there. I am not sure how effective will this campaign at all.
3340  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do I accept cryptocurrencies? on: May 28, 2021, 06:44:05 AM
Here is your solution, use btcpayserver. It's an open-source Bitcoin payments getaway and noncustodial as well. So there is no need for any KYC or something similar like this. If you don't want to take the risk with your funds then btcpayserver is the best solution. Even you can accept altcoin as well if you need it. You can host it on your own server if you have technical knowledge, or you may use their party server listed by btcpayserver. If you need a more easy solution then you might simply use coinbase API. But I will not recommend using it since they need KYC and it's a custodial web wallet. For that you should have your own system (website) out of Colver, otherwise receive Bitcoin manually is better option imo.

Here you can find a possible solution: List Bitcoin payment processor
