tell them to look at the 5 year price charts...then let them decide!

I think most people will think that bitcoin is dying if we do that without a proper explanation  Tongue
3322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi still spendng his bitcoins? on: March 30, 2015, 06:00:45 PM
I started to just follow one of the bitcoin address and the flow of btc from a given bitcoin address claimed to have owned by Satoshi by one of forum members

The first ever bitcoins  https://blockchain.info/tx/0437cd7f8525ceed2324359c2d0ba26006d92d856a9c20fa0241106ee5a597c9

Found that last year a transaction is made https://blockchain.info/address/1JfTwtVUtrnqcicAefCo3f9nLTKYy7wxhV , so the question is , is still Satoshi spending small amount of Bitcoins  Huh

Perhaps you could go into more detail. The bitcoins from that transactions are from block 9, so they are technically not the first bitcoins, and you failed to state the significance of the address 1JfTwt...

Ok, thanks, this is where I got the address from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=548508.msg7646818#msg7646818

I am just curious, can you give me the first generated bitcoin address?

here it is https://blockchain.info/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa
First Tx: https://blockchain.info/tx/4a5e1e4baab89f3a32518a88c31bc87f618f76673e2cc77ab2127b7afdeda33b

those coins can't be spent, by the way
and that address might not actually be the first address. I don't think there's a way to find the first ever bitcoin address

Pizza with double cheese. I love that fat!

oh this guy just answered for me  Grin
3324  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Percentage of People that Make Money Trading Crypto? on: March 30, 2015, 04:46:29 PM
funny, I never thought of myself as a good trader, but I actually got some nice profit (arbitraging) before I stopped trading.
it IS tiring though, having to keep track of a lot of coins in different sites. sometimes the site that I use as my reference is wrong, too.

I'm not going to go back though, because it's tiring and I'm afraid it's just a matter of time before I lose big.
3325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi still spendng his bitcoins? on: March 30, 2015, 04:29:34 PM
LOL, Both of the network propagation data in blockchain.info of the first bitcoin created and the new spend ones show they orginate near Africa, so is Satoshi near Africa? LOL  Grin

are you stupid or something? this is my transaction from last week, so am I near africa too?

do some research before you go around and speculate, dude. hint: look at the relayed IP. move your pointer tothe question mark icon
3326  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just found this site for buying and selling bitcoin through paypal on: March 30, 2015, 04:15:18 PM

And not risk-free as well. Why risk your money and reputation, buying Bitcoin from such shady sites? I don't know why this obsession with Paypal is there. Why don't use Localbitcoins and buy the BTC directly?

except that not everyone feels safe about meeting and exchanging hundreds of dollars for bitcoin with a stranger.

I do agree that there's better options than paypal out there, though.
3327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi on: March 30, 2015, 04:10:42 PM
are we going to see you again ? maybe other project ?  Undecided
He's probably still around under a different nickname. He posted once on his p2pfoundation profile to say that he wasn't Dorian Nakamoto. He is around, he just doesn't like the attention.

oh, come on. that wasn't him. he didn't even sign a message
3328  Other / Off-topic / Re: Strange Pictures from Around The World on: March 30, 2015, 04:08:34 PM
lol shopped ^

oh really now?
3329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi on: March 30, 2015, 02:15:31 PM
Not necessarily. If Satoshi can't use those Bitcoins in any way, at the least he'd want credit for creating Bitcoin. Satoshi already revealed himself, it's just people don't want to accept it. And he's not Dorian or Nick Szabo.

Source?

If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

and what about it? what's that conversation have to do with who he is?
enlighten me, genius.
3330  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I believe on: March 30, 2015, 01:59:27 PM
I believe advertisements should go in the marketplace section.

no, this belongs to the project development section. I'm going to report it

edit: actually, I'm not even sure if this is a project.  Tongue

The OP has an amazing vision of bringing blockchain to gaming!

Spells of Genesis is a long-running project by Swiss-based company EverdreamSoft. There will be a Token Sale in June on Koinify.

don't get me wrong, I kinda like the concept of this game and it looks pretty cool too, I just don't think it belongs in bitcoin discusssion.  Wink
3331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you convince a newbie to use BTC? on: March 30, 2015, 01:44:56 PM
I think because Bitcoin really is something too vague , unrealistic . Even people who have knowledge of information technology are hard to understand let alone those who do not know anything about computers

not only vague, bitcoin is complex too.
but it certainly is not unrealistic.. of course people might think it is unrealistic the first time they hear about it, but it will change after they do a little reading about bitcoin
and one does not have to learn how crypto technology works to use bitcoin.

Oh sorry ! As was not sure where to post  Wink
Hope the admin will put in on the right sub !

or you could just move it yourself. just search for "move topic". it's on the bottom of the page

you know that you could just go to the marketplace and buy/sell for paypal there right?
there some pretty trusted user there. better than some questionable sites, at least.
3336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you convince a newbie to use BTC? on: March 30, 2015, 12:31:15 PM
It depends on what that person needs. If he wants to get paid for small jobs like coding and such then Bitcoin is a great option.

Getting rid of paypal and their charge backs is mostly enough to convince people. Sending money instantly with a near to zero fee is also music in their ears.

He is asking, how would you convince a "newbie" to use bitcoin?  No why bitcoin is better then Paypal (as method of payment ).

read again
he said it depends.

if this newbie is having a hard time liking bitcoin because he is only interested in buying things, bringing up paypal's (or whatever it is that they use) cons and bitcoin's pros is a good way too convince them.

if the guy only interested in making money, then we can introduce them to trading and other money making method that uses bitcoin.

I see some dumb posts here. even if they're a newbie to bitcoin doesn't mean they're an idiot.

3338  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Penghasilan Terbesar Bitcoin Kamu ?? on: March 29, 2015, 09:58:30 PM

3339  Economy / Services / Re: DADICE.com Signature Campaign - The BEST Yet | HIGHEST RATES! | JOIN THE FUN! on: March 29, 2015, 09:53:22 PM
Can i join?

there's still 10 available spots for full member so yes, you can.
just post your application here, the format can be found on the first post.

His post history maybe fine for a campaign you know of but if i was to make a decision i would have to say no this time, but with a chance to improve and come back at a later date to try again if it does improve. He would probably be banned within the first week if he joined and got noticed. Luckily i am not making the decision that will be ndnhc  Wink

well, in that case add "good post history" as a requirement then.
but I'm just answering a question, not declaring a war, soooo...  Tongue
