3321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best time of the day to buy Bitcoin on: June 28, 2022, 07:28:10 AM
I have read an article that there is a best time to buy bitcoin. By considering these patterns, we can be able to buy bitcoin at a lowest price.

1. it’s better to buy Bitcoin in the afternoon since prices tend to drop. While the best time to buy Bitcoin is from 3 pm to 4 pm.

2. They say, you can also get a good deal from 11 pm to midnight.

3. Weekend is also the best for people to consider and decide on buying bitcoin since many business people trade Bitcoin on weekdays which causes Bitcoin price go up and the demand increase.

4. We should also avoid buying bitcoin in paydays since many people get their paychecks in the middle and at the end of the month. When people have more money in their account, people tempted to spend it and Bitcoin prices can rise quickly.

Does anyone follow the same this practices? or would you mind share your own practices if you have, to help us get an idea where is best time to buy bitcoin.

Imho the "best time of the day" may give some hits to day traders, but not much else. Also if it's a "known thing" (heh) speculators may also try to take advantage of this.
If you want to buy and hold for longer, DCA tends to be the best bet. Small variation from different hours (btw, for what timezone were those hours?) will not matter.
3322  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: June 28, 2022, 07:10:17 AM
You are thinking of Ledger's first model, the Nano S.

I think that this is a bad choice of words. Nano S is the smallest, the oldest they're still selling, but, afaik, not their first.

Your budget for the device also shows me that you're probably dealing with capital that should be fine (not financial advice) to keep on an exchange - as I said, also for more efficient / fast trading ability.
OP owns £3.000 worth of crypto. Personally, this wouldn't be an amount I would be comfortable storing in an exchange account. Not to mention that these £3.000 can easily become £5k or £6k during the next bull run. But people have different needs. OP doesn't strike me as a day trader for him to require access to an asset within a minute or two.

You said that the coins can double or more on next bull run... I would say that the bitcoin may double or more, while some of the altcoins will probably turn to dust.
So (as a second thought) I would do different. I would get the Bitcoins to the hardware wallet (or, even easier, I would generate a paper wallet offline) and I would keep the altcoins on exchange(s).
Altcoins are much more volatile than Bitcoin and one may want to sell them. Fast. Bitcoin, on the other hand, tends to do great on long term.
3323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be careful ! 4500 Bitcoins has send to coinbase pro on: June 28, 2022, 07:02:29 AM
sir , the main case i am talking about is not 4500 coins. the problem is about  high number of cdd. 4500 bitcoin is something to not care we all know that.

It doesn't really matter who is selling and how old are the coins. What matters is, as usual, the amount (well, the amount over time actually). And since the amount is not so big, it doesn't matter.
Even if it's old coins and you would say it adds up on top of the usual sales, it's not a big enough amount to matter.
3324  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can I mine on Bitcoin Core? on: June 28, 2022, 06:22:03 AM
And don't tell me, please, to buy specialized hardware to mine, I'm not looking to make money, just helping the network. Thanks!

If you don't buy specialized hardware you don't help the network, you just "burn" electricity (which you'll probably have to pay).
3325  Other / Meta / Re: Is one forum rule needed? on: June 27, 2022, 02:04:30 PM
Thank you all for the answers.

While some were misled and kinda insisting on (unrelated) body harm, I've got some very thoughtful answers too.

LoyceV is right and nuances are important and sometimes the language barrier can make them even more confusing.
LoyceV is also right that the newbies have to kind of pass the "test of fire" here Cheesy (and most do) and Lucius pointed it out very good: explaining them when it's the case should suffice.
And the conclusion is from BitcoinGirl.Club: whether we like it or not, all this is part of the freedom of speech. Any added rule can harm that. So.. we're good as we are.

Thanks again. I will lock the topic since imho it has achieved its goal.
3326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: information about crypto price on: June 27, 2022, 01:56:29 PM

Hi,
I'm begginer so excuse me for this question who's, maybe stupid..

Why the bitcoin price or other token isn't the same on crypto.com and binance ??

Thank a lot dor your help

You can think on this: why potato prices are different at <insert supermarket 1> and <insert supermarket 2>?
Difference in fees, liquidity do matter. Even more (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong), I think that crypto.com is an OTC exchanger, hence it tends to have wider spread (higher buy price and lower sell price).
3327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any entropy odds on this effords? on: June 27, 2022, 12:59:51 PM
The Bitcoin(BTC) hash 1LoadMewf3YfGDQwwvNqsqiL3irVLYXVAh is sending Satoshis to the richest wallets to input the richest homo sapiens that controls this wallets to LoadMe the hash.
What is the odds for a wealth homo sapiens load some BTC into the hash? Is this only a mental illness or inputting those apes could make any input back the hash?

1LoadMewf3YfGDQwwvNqsqiL3irVLYXVAh

It's just another beggar spamming a lot of addresses with dust. The fact he affords to spend 22$ on this kind of move already proves he's not so poor.
I don't think that he will get anything from this move. But one can hope, right?
3328  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 27, 2022, 12:21:55 PM
But there are different views from when something is declared as an insult and / or trolls.

That's correct.

That's where the problems start, because there is also rule 23, for example, but no matter how hard you try - impossible to make it right for everyone.

I keep telling the users: when you're not sure, report it and leave the mod interpret the rules as he thinks. Nobody's perfect.

In addition, it is just as forbidden to make double posts, to report the same post again and again (until you get the desired result) or to post deleted texts again.
And what happens? All of the above.
So if you take it very strictly, probably all users who were named/shown here have already violated several times against various rules.

 Cheesy so true

My suggestion which has already been mentioned several times and would also help 100%: Everyone looks for the 2-5 users with whom he has a problem, clicks on Ignore and leaves it at that. Easy.

Indeed, if one feels it's too much, then ignore is the best approach.
And if he can still handle and didn't ignore, then report what can be reported Wink

I am now really out of here again because actually I was on vacation to be able to do the pending tasks properly. And now? I come back recovered and have to spend directly again X hours with topics that I actually do not want to have in my life.

Ouch! Maybe you take it slow/easy then for now. Time uses to solve this in a way or another.
It can end with both sides chill, it can end with death threats (hence proper ammo for actual sanctions). Maybe I should not have been saying this...
3329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Short story] How do I use bitcoin as a means of payment! on: June 27, 2022, 11:27:25 AM
This is my short story with, so have you ever used bitcoin as a means of payment for the purchase of physical assets like land or anything else?

In Europe, when the papers are signed, the payment is also discussed. There are certain minimal prices and you have to declare the transaction value at least at that price.
Now the fun part begins: the values over 10k EUR must be transferred through banks.

While I know that there are estate companies that accept Bitcoin, I don't know how they make the deals. Person to person.. I find it practically impossible, unless the papers are done as donation (which is different than sale and can be easily reverted).
3330  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 27, 2022, 11:12:08 AM
e.g. if I told you now go and lick XY's ass or you're a pig or not a human, interesting that that's okay. Cheesy

The way you're talking usually tells a lot about yourself. First post of yours in this topic you were lying, now this. This is the picture you're offering.
Interesting that 5 years and 3700 posts on this forums and you didn't care about its rules.
3331  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining Using SHA 256 on: June 27, 2022, 10:55:18 AM
Is there any other applicable use of SHA 256 aside the verification of bitcoin transaction on the blockchain network?

I would not be surprised if your passwords on various websites you use are not stored there either as MD5, either as SHA256/SHA512.
However, another (main) use of various flavors of SHA is to create/save CRC-like information for files/data.
Also I will add that the various SHA are also used for SSL (let's say for the HTTPS you see on all websites nowadays).
3332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best non-custodial Bitcoin mixers available today? on: June 27, 2022, 10:46:13 AM
then why can't Bitcoin have various non-custodial (decentralized) mixing solutions?

I think that it's about offer and demand. The decentralized mixers, from what I know, are costly. Also not as much decentralized and trustless as you'd think (Wasabi has a CoinJoin coordinator, you will need to trust it).
And I think that people will go where it's cheaper and it works. And ChipMixer being for free... do the math.
If there would be a need/demand for more such solutions, I think that a bigger variety would pop up. I will also add that LN is also considered nowadays a pretty good "mixer"-like approach.
3333  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 27, 2022, 10:32:01 AM
we‘ve been insulted every day

Insulting is not against forum rules. Trolling is. You (and your friends) keep insisting on insulting like it would be an offense, while it's not.
In the same way you insist others ignore you (and hence leave you alone) if they don't share your views, you can also do the same about them, especially if you feel so much insulted.
3334  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 27, 2022, 09:23:56 AM
Can you prove this or is this just bullshit spewing from your mouth? By all means, if you have proof the Royse777 story is bullshit, then share with the rest of us.

We both know that all the bounty exploiters who got caught have here the opportunity to hit Royse777 while he/she's down.
It's inevitable.

Asking them about proof to show they're bullshitting is a good approach. Just make sure you don't find yourself caught in fighting the windmills Wink
3335  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY ITS SO POSITIVE THIS BEARMARKET. on: June 27, 2022, 08:58:05 AM
Bitcoin market has shown it goes in cycles and people do expect it to get on bull market rather soon.
With every passing year there is a bigger percent of people who is still on profit even in the middle of crypto winter (2017 ATH was under 20k, remember?), hence a bigger percent of people is calm and call for calm.

So as long as one doesn't do anything stupid (like investing in a scam or a worthless project) should be fine sooner or later.

PS. This is the view of a Bitcoiner; I will add though from my experience that one should not really count on the recovery of any altcoin, they usually perform badly on very long terms. Bitcoin is the only one (or one of very-very few) with actual good history.
3336  Other / Meta / Is one forum rule needed? on: June 27, 2022, 08:50:39 AM
There's quite some drama in Reputation board about things happening in the German forum, I don't want to get the same drama here.
While the question comes from there, it's actually generic.

If an user threatens another user (especially a rather new account) with getting him banned... is that OK? Or, better asked, should we do anything about it? (report or anything). Is a new (unofficial) rule needed?

Of course, it's a fake threatening since he has no power to do anything, but it can silence or disappoint new users coming to this forum.
Or I'm worried for nothing, since it's a situation that doesn't happen often and it's usually related to political (to say so) views, not technical, so not a big deal?
3337  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 27, 2022, 08:40:43 AM
I think for the German-speaking board the moderator mole0815 is responsible, but here could be the real problem. If we go back to the facts, the following things stand out to me:

While mole0815 could be the one responsible of German board, the problem I was talking about is generic, hence I would have been preferring an answer from somebody who is not already fed up with the drama in German sub (and for good reason!).

Ignore button works, you all should use it. I know I read someone say they cannot ignore because some of the posts from whomever need a response, but that's not true. Just ignore and go on with life. Start reporting posts if you feel they're attacks or threats.

Other option is to pull out your dicks and do the measurement!!!!

 Cheesy Grin Interesting conclusion.
While Ignore is a great option, while I do recommend it for the sake of people's sanity, it's not the best option.
I do have my admiration for those who have the patience to counter and report the ones who fill the forum with garbage. We do need this kind of people too.

I see the army of trolls are all here now? I've seen lies, I've seen normal posts accused to be trolling, I see they want to enforce their alternate reality. Interesting.
One laughable argument I see repeated like a mantra is that this or that is disrespectful. Well, I want to tell that lying is even more disrespectful, so.. yeah..

@mole0815: I feel for you. On the other hand I am almost sure that all the bigger national communities face similar problems. How the others handle them?
3338  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Python3 CPU mining on: June 26, 2022, 08:06:13 PM
I wish to write a CPU Bitcoin mining program in pure python3.

Interesting project, however you're some 10 years late.

Now, if you do it for fun and your own learning, being aware about the fact it's useless, no problem at all.
I remember there was a bitcoin miner made for Commodore 64. I didn't look into it, but who knows, maybe it can help: https://github.com/ytmytm/c64-bitcoin-miner (sorry if it doesn't)
3339  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 26, 2022, 08:00:43 PM
Some people have too much free time.  Cheesy

I've seen how guerilla marketing works. Those get benefits irl, not in the forum. Paid trolls may be in the same category.
And making an army of accounts for being convincing and for producing some sort of discussion look alike is part of the job.
So it's not necessarily about having too much time.

For example, we have already rules in place like trolling spam and similar but it's not easy to decide here.

Yes, that's what I've been also trying to say.

I've reported some shitposts in the international section and all of them were remowed. That's how reporters and moderators can make Bitcointalk a better place with lesse spam.

Well, you have to do the same in the German sub. Non-German users cannot really help there.

But after all, the most essential thing is, that people participating on Bitcointalk have at least some sort of self-awareness:
Are my posts beneficial for Bitcointalk or am I abusing Bitcointalk as a dump for my propaganda?

We should try to be people from the first category.  Smiley

I think that the vast majority is okay. But, like everywhere, there will be some who think that's smarter to pee against the wind.

I'm still hoping for more self-awareness how such low-quality posters are destroying the forum, even damaging Bitcoin's reputation. Most of the are just here to earn, some are just here to troll.
People brought that up in our local section, shitposters didn't care.
We keep trying.  Smiley

I stopped having such an utopic view on humans. The good thing is that bitcoin has became so famous that even the worse kind of people can have account on bitcointalk and post his .. things. Good (!) or bad (!).
Those spamming and trolling definitely don't care about the forum. Expecting that (or anything good) from them is useless, really.
3340  Economy / Reputation / Re: User: Unknown01 threatens me with a forum ban for saying my opinion on: June 26, 2022, 07:19:05 PM
The problem of these accounts spreading Putin propaganda in the German section: they are thinking they can abuse Bitcointalk for their agenda and post their nonsense without receiving harsh opposition for their inhuman hot takes. They are derailing our local board. That's what's wrong and we have talked to them whats wrong about it.

Although I don't follow the German board (Ich spreche keine Deutsch), I agree that the forum is full of this kind of people accounts.
I don't really have a solution for them and I don't know what can be done. If we do something we hurt the freedom of speech, if we don't.. the forum gets full of this kind of trolls.

They aren't listening and instead now, they are threatening Newbies with bans (which is funny because troll accounts don't have any power to ban anyone, their lack of forum rules, DT and other stuff is apalling)
Yes, it's not only limited to propaganda spam but also to giving out positive trust to other troll accounts, which is deeply concerning in my opinion because it's not how positive trust should be used. Such feedbacks should be neutral, see here.

Spam should de reported and removed at sight.
I've seen the threatening of newbies. Afaik it's not in the forum rules, it may be punishable offense. But we need mods' input in this. Cyrus is mod in Reputation, maybe he can help?
Trolling is punishable offense. But trolling may be a bit vague. Still, it's best we can do.

The only problem is @1miau himself

I've seen useful posts in the forum made by 1miau. Somehow I managed to miss all of your great contribution. So I don't share your opinion.
