I would love to find a client to host one of these units.  This has been in the works for years, good to see it as a reality.  Immersion cooling is a growing technology, and Bitcoin Mining is a near perfect test-case for the viability of the underlying technology.  It is a very efficient package overall and in the times of rising difficulty, efficiency is key

-Dalkore

And if it does .11 watts per gh  before cooling it is poorly designed.

the chip has demoed at 0.06 watts a gh

So  this does close to 2x what the chip can do on the low end.

I don't see it as a good design unless they don't sell any chips to any one else.

If they sell chips and some one builds a .08  watt   s-9  it will hurt this machine.

Now if they back off on the power or allow this to run at a solid down clock down volt.

Ie if you can run it at .07 or .08 watts a gh as an option  it is  a fine  piece of gear.

I am a fixed rate and have yet to even look at the site for my payment.

I also have not bothered anyone  via pm.

I have been dealing with marcotheminer via pm each month as I do a flat rate giving him a better deal since I post like mad.

So who got paid this month for flat rate?

I know I am not the only flat rate here.

I am more interested in flat rate info then post info.

Also I assume I should still pm marco correct?

33267  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitfury Containerized Plug and Play Datacenter on: January 31, 2016, 07:04:07 PM
it could cost 2.200.000$, aprox, but the most amazin thing is that you can "transport" your mine center over world with only a truck...  Shocked

well, this is borderline price assuming maybe two more months wait.
Why? S7 is $789+shipping=~840 for 4.7Th, but I will go with $789 number because there are discounts for large purchases, which will negate shipping
16000Th (container)/4.7=3404 S7 equivalents
3404X789=$2685957
It would take Bitmain to simply lower S7 price to ~$605 to match the container price per Th (although without counting better efficiency).

Conclusion: Bitfury has to lower the container price to 1-1.2 mil to have a significant competitive advantage and deploy en masse vs Bitmain.

this gear is moron on BITFURY'S PART  and only a moron would buy it.

We all saw the video of these chips doing 0.06 watts per gh on a down clock..

so if they build a box at 0.075 watts per gh net  that uses 1000 watts it is a 13.3 ph box

They are complete moron for pushing this idea for now and pushing the light bulb idea  last year

When a 1000 or even an 800 watt box makes perfect sense. You know the one in the middle of the two idea's above.

This container will produce close to 8 million btu's

That is around 80 home furnace's

I estimate that the 16 fans on top of the box need to move around 400,000 CFM

true insanity.

When they can simply make 800 watt boxes = to a pair of s-7's.

I assume that this harks back to bitfury CEO past. He is from Latvia/former USSR growing up during 1990 USSR collapse.
Lots of bad people, lots of various scams and swindlers, so people's mistrust, perhaps.
He probably does not want to deal with tens/hundreds of thousands of small miners, hence the "go big" mentality.
Honestly, why not just put up the chip for sale directly on the internet, then institute a volume discount for large customers.
This way, anyone can build a miner and there is no need for some byzantine integrators communication pathway scheme.

Nicely put.  And if a chip can do a low of 0.06 to a high of 0.11

gearing it in In a container that produces 8,000,000 BTU of heat  and needs 400,000 CFM of fans is just plain stupid.

As for Roi.

All this setup makes a chip that can do 0.06 or 0.07 air cooled do worse then .11 since I have to fire the fans up and pumps to cool.

So I buy the monster and I find it does .14  watts a gh  with cooling costs and works great.

Bitmaintech tosses a ton of money for just the chips at bitfury and builds a .08  watt air cooled s-9  .

So by buying gear that with cooling approaches  .14 watts

I could be hurt if bitmantech puts out a .08 watt miner in small gear.

Right now bitfury needs to design the   container to do under 0.09 watts  not

.14watts with the fans pumps and cooling.

If I could come up with the coin for this I don't want it since it is designed to go high watts per gh on the chip not low watts per gh on the chip.

and bitfury could simply undercut me with a significantly better design for the same chip.  And no one will want the beast. for a second hand miner.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, thanks phillipma1957 for yet another successful group buy.

I'm wondering if the new hash rate for the "version 2" Avalons has more to do with the firmware updates than the string design. Here is a screen cap of my "Version 1" Avalon with the latest version firmware (MM & Ras Pi B) at 12.2 volts.

http://imgur.com/QyHqL8q

Seems I'm achieving the same results as "version 2" with lower volts using Jabber's/Finksy 4k watt PSU

If that's not the case, if I'm pulling 3.9 THs from a version 1 that's rated at 3.5 THs, then I should pull 4.2-4.3 THs from a version 2 Avalon with 3.8-3.9 THs hashing average. Can't wait till these bad boys/girls arrive!

yeah maybe it is better firmware.   not sure.

All these tracking numbers are UPS I will post here as they move towards destination.

I do not like giving the numbers out because of redirect issues. This is why Yan sends me the numbers via email not PM.
33273  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Lifetime pool luck for antpool vs kano.is or why aren't you mining with kano.is on: January 31, 2016, 05:00:53 PM
The kano.is pool has grown from 12 ph to 20 ph since this thread opened.

I am happy to see that 8ph worth of hash has come to kano's pool.

The net work is growing fast but for the last 8 days kano.is is grower faster.

Remember  the Feb 1  Avalon 6 giveaway will start in about 5 or 6 hours.

First off thanks to everyone pool just keeps growing.

My replacement avalon 6 board comes tomorrow .  So I will bump up by 1.6th or so.

The avalon 6 group buy should arrive at my house on thurs.

I know more of that will come here.

We are growing faster then the network but The network will go from 859 to 1000ph.

So when I said we need 42.95 ph for 5% we now need 50ph.

We can do it.  Since I wrote the thread + pool below  we moved from 12ph to 20 ph
Our luck has been over 140% since the thread below was started.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1338693.0

Keep it up everyone.

http://data.bitcoinity.org/bitcoin/hashrate/6m?c=m&r=week&t=a

scrolling across that graph its quite obvious we havent even seen what bitfury can bring to the table.. Look at growth

sept 11 2015 -    jan 17 2016

antpool  68ph/s then  now 231 ph/s  quadrupled
f2pool    81ph/s then  now 199 ph/s  about 1.5x increase
bw.com  28ph/s ""     ""    62.7ph/s   2.25 x increase
btcchina 41ph/s ""     ""    116ph/s    2.8x increase

BITFURY  70 ph/s              135 ph/s  1.9x increase for someone that may have 300 peta  not looking like the numbers add up to me..

Its quite apparent this hash is mostly china hash coming online..Bitmain and some avalon most likely.. we haven't even seen the full effects of what bitfury will bring (if they dont bring to table like they say then maybe we will hit a slow period of rise till halving or at least i hope).. So id say double digit increases will be the norm?? rather than the exception for quite some time. Maybe not all thru to halving but many months yet.. if it wasnt for kano pool id be out of mining already running s3's and s4's.

So i wrote this yesterday and waited to post.. Looks like they have kept things running strong.. What i do like about what i see on http://bitcoin.sipa.be/speed-lin-2k.png is we havent surged on the 8 hour past that 1.3 peta mark.. So this could again be a bit of good network luck along with another 10 % of hash that still needs to be accounted for... I really am starting to think the on/off cycle was not to trigger bitcoind warning system about producing over 48 blocks within 4 hours*(since it was coming from china the next headline would most likely would have been that china was attacking the network!).. Imagine what it could have done had they just turned on 51% of the network all at once Roll Eyes (280-300 block days??) Greedy china takes our jobs and our bitcoin.. lets hope they dont decide to come for debt repayment any time soon  Tongue  I always did like the story of the world being in over 50 trillion in debt. but the question is to whom is it owed?  https://www.facebook.com/notes/positive-money-uk/if-all-the-nations-of-the-world-are-in-debt-who-are-they-in-debt-to/190689830985039/  About time we just go to a resource based economy and use the blockchain as a ledger of ownership going forward.(im hopeful that this is where this is ultimately heading) Just do away with money altogether.. Imagine how many bad actors in this world are only doing so in the quest for money/btc.  https://www.thevenusproject.com/resource-based-economy/

Best Regards
d57heinz

bitfury points gear at antpool and at f2pool.

at least 100ph worth of their hash is pointed at those two pools.

well some good news first the replacement hash board arrives tomorrow.

and now the bad news that same unit running 1 board has stopped registering fan speeds.

and of course as a safety to not over heat the unit won't hash.

the fan speed says 0  and the fan is running full speed.

so I will now need a daughter board as it seems the fan speed detection no longer works.

So once again over-volting can cause your gear to fry.

I will have to contact Yan and get  a replacement daughter board.

I found a reset button on the daughter board and I am now hashing with the one board.

The replacement  comes tomorrow so things are looking up.

I just noticed that yours is a DPS2000BB B all of mine are DPS2000BB A

I'll try to find a cheap BB B locally to test.
The only ones I could find with a quick search were 200€ ($220) each.

Edit:

INTEL-ABCEPSU20-2000-WATT-INTERNAL-POWER-SUPPLY-DPS-2000BB-B

It's not made for IBM, so it's very likely that the pinout to turn it on is different on this one.

Thanks J4bberwock.  I'll have to be sure to get the right ones.  I didn't even think that would matter and especially since the breakout board still fit perfectly.  Oh well lesson learned!  Going to try to return these.

mine are rev 7 and 8 both have an A at the end

Having dealt numerous times with Phillipma1957 on and off the forum , I would not consider him a sell out or being paid by anyone for what he does.
If he does get paid directly, it is also not our business. He backs his info with facts in any thread he has. He is very helpful on pretty much anything I have ever asked him about in the past.

He is one of the very few people we should NOT be worried about being a sell-out on this SCAM-ridden and BS-filled forum...

On that note, I started on KANO.IS early last year and have been stuck on it (in a good way).
Always earning more than any other pool, even after some less than prosperous days of red blocks.

I only wish KANO would have an alt-coin pool.   Wink

I wrote the thread  because I believe what I wrote.
