I don't understand how other players will be able to play against Eriksen,when they know about his condition. Football is a physical sport and I assume that nobody would want to tackle or try to hurt Christian Eriksen. Many football players get into a deep depression,when they quit professional football.Football is the meaning of their lives.They just can't handle the massive change in their lives,after they quit.Maybe that's why Eriksen doesn't want to retire. This is both brave and reckless,but I guess that nobody in the world can convince Erisken to retire. Even his wife cannot convince him. Actually, that is something I didn't realize at first because obviously, you need to put at least some kind of physical contact to get the ball from a player, and I don't know how that is going to happen with Eriksen. Because that may cause some serious damage to him. And there is also something that every professional player should think about, which is they are obviously not going to play for their entire life and they need to figure out what they are going to do when this is over and have a future plan ready for after their retirement. That will obviously make retirement a lot easier. ~
It is stupidity. If there is a danger of him dying on the pitch, then no team should be getting him any minutes at all and he should be willing to retire. I get that he is young and not at a retirement age and he doesn't know what to do and feels like he has some years left to provide some meaningful football. However, he is not going to make too much anyway and he could simply just turn his football knowledge into something else other than a player. He could be a staff, he could be a commentator, he could be anything in the football field, a scout even. That will not pay him as much maybe but the difference wouldn't be big enough to make him go broke. The amount of money in football is good enough that he should have enough to retire by now and that is why I doubt that it is about finances. I think that money can be like drugs. Once you get a taste for it you want more.  But in this case, I don't think it's about the money. I think it's more about the same and the feeling of being on the pitch. He can obviously make good enough money in any other sector of football. I know there is a lot of emotional things going inside his head right now, but I think he should be more realistic and start thinking about other ways of making money and move on. |

~edited out~ I know that the franchise have a habit of spending and I absolutely agree because I really cannot see some of the players being worth the money that they were bid for. I think the bidding could have been smarter, to be honest. Yes, its true but we can't overlook other points too. Franchise inflate price for some players during bidding, just to fuck with opposition bidding strategy due to limited purse. Recent example is Khaleel Ahmad. Delhi was trying to mess with Mumbai but poor guys end up buying him for 5-ish crore. Yes, I know how bidding works. Sometimes you need to make sure that the opposition wastes their money on things that are not so useful. But people have to be careful because waste strategy can backfire very easily if the opposition figures out what is happening. I'm sure Khaleel Ahmed as a player is worth less than that. They are better and worthy players than him to buy. I'm not saying that the money was wasted but it was not the best investment either. |

This is the prime reason why I quit making bet on cricket matches. You make a handy bet on favorite team and for some reason your team lost the game and you lose all your money. It happened with me lots of time. Now after this match odds must be in favour of Sri Lanka team. Sri Lanka need to play well to keep this series alive.
T20 is a very unpredictable game. Even teams such as Netherlands, Scotland and Hong Kong have defeated nations with test status in this format of the game. And that is also one of the reasons why the odds are more attractive in this format. And irrespective of whatever we say about Sri Lanka, we need to admit that they can spring up a surprise at any point of time (as seen from the second T20 match, that was tied). They have some very good players such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera and Pathum Nissanka. T20 is the least skill-based game in cricket in my opinion. because the whole game seems like if you can hit the ball out of the ground and take some singles here and there you will be fine, and you have the same 10 wickets that you get in one day international and test cricket, so the Batman has more luxury to go for the big shots. And if we talk about the bowlers, only one ball is actually effective in any situation and that is the yorker. Almost every other ball seems to be easy to heat out of the park in t20 cricket and that's why this game is really unpredictable, especially this format. |

I fear for the guy tbh.. But respect to the guys at Brentford, Thomas Frank and Matthew Benham for giving him a chance even if it is at least in a ‘let’s see and decide’ basis. It’s hard for the club to commit when a player has a pace maker that needs to be turned off when he’s on the pitch. I’m not a doctor but who knows what kind of risk the club and Eriksen is putting himself into. I understand what the player is going through and what this might mean to him. But at the same time, I absolutely do not agree with this because this seems to be almost suicidal. And I honestly cannot decide if this is bravery or stupidity. This involves a huge amount of risk for the player. But I have to say that this man is something else. He prioritized football over his own health, this is not something that should be done but this is actually amazing. |

Overseas players are vital cog in a IPL machinery but franchise can't go after every foreign players. Demand and supply matters, for example if there are tons of solid openers and spinners available for the limited slots then obviously many would go unsold. Just look at every squad, almost every squad has at least 2-3 Indian batters who are ready to open the inning for their respective franchise, same with the spinners.
On budget i think BCCI should increase the overall purse, let's say additional 30% if not 50% because they earn shitload amount of time but with IPL they are into only business, that's it. Yeah it does help players on many account but its purely business. This brings another point if some players are not available for full season then they clearly don't deserve big amount, no matter how talented you are.
Yes, that's correct that all franchise has a habit of overspending on some undeserving players be it overseas or local but it also true that their value would go down drastically if they don't deliver, unless they are extremely talented. Remember its not a charity but investment for the franchise.
Overseas players are often bought with a lot of money but a lot of time we can see that they leave because of international duty and many other reasons. I think the other reasons can be forgiven but if the IPL knows that someone will have to leave because of international competition then I think they shouldn't be bought for or the money for him should be less. And some players are also going to get unsold because not everyone can get a team and there are just so many players. Regarding this news Seems Benzema have in the squad. I hope the match shows us impressive football not defensive but attacking each other, I see the bet tonight supreme PSG to win about 45% while Madrid 25% and the rest of the draw. And I believe Madrid won't be easy to beat even PSG play as host with a perfect squad. what is interesting tonight is will Messi score a goal?. I think if PSG wins, Messi will be on the score sheet. But honestly, I am not really confident about PSG winning this match even though they are in their home ground and have a really good squad. well I am of the opinion that:
1 - PSG is a team that still doesn't offer me the security that they can win the champions league

I think I read same before India tour to South Africa that it will be a piece of cake for India but India lost both Test and ODI series.
Afghanistan is coming to India for playing 3 ODIs and since its home soil for Indian players, that's a big plus for them since they rarely lose on there own pitches. But we still cant rule out the fact that Afghanistan can do some upset.
The expectation for India's tour of South Africa was there because South Africa was literally having a much weaker side and India toured Australia and England and everyone expected the South African tour would be a cake walk but South Africa played really well and showed they can still depend any team in their background. When it comes to home series, it is a difficult to defeat India if they are playing with their best squad and since they are experimenting with the team all the time giving opportunities to young players and if they think that they need to try young talents then there is a chance for Afghanistan to defeat India, if not it is a hard task for them. I think against Afghanistan, India is going to try their luck and give the new players a chance to play for the national side and also look how the players do who are new to the international scene. And I think that will surely give the opponent a good chance of beating India. Back I don't think that India is going to face that much problem from Afghanistan.
Afghanistan still can't be compared to the other test playing nations. They started playing cricket very recently and the first national team was established in the 1990s. On the other hand, South Africa has a cricketing history of more than two centuries and even now they are one of the best in the world. Their poor performance at the international level is not because they don't have talent. Rather, it is due to the fact that a number of their best players emigrate to other countries such as New Zealand and England to escape the quota system.
South Africa is still one of the best teams to play cricket ever. Over the years they have produced a lot of quality cricketers like Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla, and a lot of others. But they have a lot of problems with their board. Even Kohli is facing the worst time of his career but still having very strong back up from his team and current management is very good he can fight back anytime in near future because we have a very long history of bad patches of great batsmen, and they fight back done good for their respective teams same can happen here in Kohli. Virat Kohli was having having a dream run for a very long time and even during that period he was well aware that he would be going through a lean patch during his career and that is what is going on in his career right now. He will tweak his flaws and i am sure he will be back in form in a short period of time and one bad serious does not mean anything, he will be back in form. They are also humans with having all concerns like we have so without any doubt he is facing some bad time in his batting and now with recently few bad management from BCCI and few his own faults making things more terrible so just because of these all he is feeling more pressure. With this all Indian cricket team having one of the worst schedule because we all can check how these players are living and doing things these all have impact mentality and physically on them even they are professional with better skills and having better environment about this all. Virat Kohli without any doubt legendary cricketer of this era, and he can fight back in near future as he still has nearly 3 or 4 years for international cricket and few more good years in his IPL career but right now he needs something very positive for this all change. Virat Kohli is undeniably one of the greatest players to play cricket in this era. I really believe that he has the capability of making a comeback very soon. But one thing I don't understand about the fans is that when the players are doing well everyone seems to support them but when the player is not doing so good, the fans start to hate on the players and that is the time when the players need the support of his fans the most.  |

I really don't even think that India thinks about this thing as a problem because India is not suffering from this by any means. This is actually rather problematic for Pakistan because through IPL a lot of Pakistani players also could have proved themselves but now they don't have that chance and also the financial loss that Pakistan is having to bear because of this decision. I think Pakistan should improve the quality of their own T20 league and they can have a lot of profit from that.
It's purely a political decision of not including Pakistani players in IPL since present govt of boh counties don't have good ties. PSL current edition is 7th over and so far it's a good journey for Pakistan. Initially PSL was held in dubai but now all matches are played in Pakistan and players from all countries are participating in it. Apart from that Pakistani players are also participating in all leagues world wide which give them a good exposure and chance to earn money. In my opinion Pakistani players not being able to play in the IPL should not be much of a problem to them anymore because everyone knows that Pakistan has some world-class cricketers and almost every other T-20 league has not done anything like the IPL. So, they can play in any T-20 links except IPL. So, in my opinion, it is not problematic for Pakistan at all anymore and they have a lot of alternative ways to earn that money that they might have with the IPL. |
