3341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 05, 2022, 11:59:16 PM

We have here the groups and their game schedules. I have to say that Team Secret should be able to make it into the upper bracket.

Group B though is a very tough group. Wildcard Gaming and Infamous are most likely the weakest teams that will drop into the lower bracket. I am very excited to see if T1 players are able to utilize this break and worked more on their chemistry and strategies. Their first game will be against Liquid right away and that's like a deciding factor already if they are indeed a serious team enough to compete at the world level.

T1 and Outsiders (VP) should happen. Even if one of them wouldn't qualify, they can still bring us some good betting opportunities and of course, good Dota. Team Secret is the favorites to win this last chance qualifiers and I understand where that sentiment is coming from. T1 proved to be not in their element as they have been formed a few weeks before the qualifiers and the chemistry is not yet there. Nouns also have a huge fighting chance against all other teams, but hopefully their carry pulls through though.
3342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Crash Incoming? on: October 05, 2022, 11:06:11 PM
I don't think the crash will be as hard as it was before. A lot of things has changed since then, and we definitely have more players in the game that are already involved in the crypto market that would surely not want the price to go lower than their entry points. If there will be a crash, it will be somewhat subtle and we can surely take the blow. The world economy is going to shit, and the money flowing out of it has to go somewhere. Stocks are slowly getting deemed as overvalued as well and that too, is prone to a huge crash. It's either just precious metals or crypto, as hoarding cash with the world currencies going under is just straight up dumb.
3343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Table tennis is the best sport gambling! (My strategy of winning) on: October 05, 2022, 11:54:49 AM
I think your main idea makes sense. I mean betting on quick games for fast profit is great. If there are many games you may divide your chances in different games so can cover your losses with your luck.

Short games also tend to be very unstable, though. I'm not sure with table tennis, but if a player consistently wins against another in a H2H, I don't see any reason to go against the said player in a sport you are barely familiar with.

But its also hard for me to justify looking at player's faces. People should know more about players who they are betting for in my opinion. Its very important to increase your chances. But odd like 1.7 can be nice enough.

This one I call BS haha. You can check on their stats if you want to bet on them. But looking at their faces and tell whether they're good or not? Lots of noobs look like pros just because they have certain facial features that make them look like legends in the sport Grin
3344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It An Easy Transition From Gamer To Gambler In Casino. on: October 05, 2022, 10:45:10 AM
If you are into competitive online gaming, say, MOBA—obviously not so much on MMORPGs—it's easier to transition since you already know tons on the teams that are usually playing the game and you already know the strategies, the meta, and all of that stuff. You'll base most of your predictions or bets on your knowledge on the team, the things that they usually do, and their opponents that I'm pretty sure you also know about. Gamers are somewhat fast to analyze things and can make judgments on the fly, hence it will be easier for them to start betting on the game that they play on but for other games/sports, it will take some time before they get the hang of it.
3345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I find way to win on dice on: October 05, 2022, 10:02:16 AM
Do only 50% bet 20$ every time if it fails do 60$ it fails do 150$ if it fails do 350$ if it fails do 900$ if it fails do 2300$

There is no way you will fail 7 times and if you do just increase the bet and you will get it back eventually even if you wait 12 times.

what you think on my method?

You must not have gotten too deep into dice. Even with 49.5% odds there is a huge possibility that you can sink into a lose streak that is more than 7 times. Longest I've had is 15 and if I followed your method, I'd be out in the game in just a few seconds. Also, changing bet size is IMO not a sound strategy that can help you increase your win probability. It's all luck in dice at the end of the day. Changing bet size helps you make the most out of the greens that will help you make or break, but it's not a gaming strategy.
3346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quidax is one of the best and secure Exchange platform on: October 04, 2022, 11:58:08 PM
But what about the volume? No matter how secure the exchange is, if the volume is low and not enough to make markets move, it's a wasted effort. Sure, scammers and hackers may not penetrate the site, or even harm the users, but apart from security what does it offer to us that is not already offered by major CEX in the industry? Perhaps if this is a DEX then you might get some heads turning. But another CEX with just 'heightened' security to offer? I don't think that that's enough of a selling point.
3347  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits limit my betting limits (Becausue I consistenly winning) on: October 04, 2022, 10:58:43 PM
IMO sportsbooks and other gambling platforms typically limit your bet amount in an event of a win streak. They should be able to tell you this if you inquired as to why you can only bet certain amounts on certain events/games. They'd be more than willing to give you a reason for the decreased betting limits, and usually they'd go on for 'account verification' as a reason (based on my experience with Nitrogen). They'd usually return that to your normal limits once the 'verification' is concluded, or when they recovered from the losses they incurred from your win streak.
3348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: October 04, 2022, 08:06:03 PM
I think he did it for a similar reason scammers use crypto to commit crimes and sometimes are caught due to the permanent nature of blockchains.
He probably didn't think he would be caught
and was pursuing the drill that comes with status of being a winner, even by using these methods

sad to see

Or he just wanted to be famous for the wrong and obviously flawed reasons. Everything this guy does, whether on stream or OTB tournaments scream attention-seeking, most recently with that "chess speaks for itself" comment. Dude can't get recognized with his own abilities wherein Magnus is the superstar, so he decided to meme his way into the chess elite scene, and he can only do it by cheating. He may have reached GM status after several years but the fact remains that he's a weak player that cannot even explain variations and give analysis on what he just played.
3349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you change your mind on gambling ? on: October 04, 2022, 03:28:18 PM
Obeying the law is indeed a very safe choice what else for them and like me who is married will think a thousand times to do it because of family, and as long as online gambling can still be used why not.
and online gambling is more comfortable and safe and also without having to leave the house, and even though it is prohibited there are still many ways to still be able to use it.
There are many examples where people were not stopped by the fact that they had a wife and children. When the addiction is so strong that you simply cannot stop, then you cannot think about the consequences. To some extent, this is a disease that a specialist should help to cope with, but he can help only if the person himself wants it. And of course, everything must be within the law, for me this has always been an important point that I cannot violate, this is important for my peace of mind.

Some thinks about the consequence, but didn't really keep that in their minds when they're doing the act. They know what's right or wrong but it becomes hazy when you are preoccupied with doing something that you really like. I guess before on starts a family, they should already work on trying to remove this bad habit because it will bite their asses down later down the line. If a man cannot decide to leave or control his vices, then he's not deserving of a family.
3350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 04, 2022, 11:51:38 AM
Except that every team in this tournament wants to get this done with as quickly as possible because the intensity, the emotions, and everything about this tournament will get into their heads as it progresses. Everyone wants a quick win to prepare for the next match and I think a lot of teams displayed their eagerness to close the series. Of course that will not always be the case since a lot of times, as you said, games are dragged to the clincher rounds wherein it's just do or die for either of the teams involved.
That is just the way I prefer it, when I know nobody is gonna test some stupid drafts and opt for out of meta heroes. It is way more predictable and easier to place great in game bets after draft phase finishes.

I am not good enough to judge how some obscure hero will fare but I am good enough to judge meta matchups and capitalize on that.

I used to spend 12+ hours playing Dota 2 in SEA server with 7k mmr and we used to test some stupidly efficient drafts that are out of meta in past patches. Lost that eye for innovation after I got busy on real life events and now just following closely on the pro scene and some streams but don't play that much anymore. It helps to understand out of meta team comps if you are actually playing with them, but it becomes a grey area when you just bet on them and follow what the meta is all about. I think this year's TI focuses mostly on early rotations from supports converging to mid since the disappearance of the small camp near the tower removed lots of potential exp for the midlaner to gank on other lanes. Hence why a lot of carries tend to be self-sustainable (Pudge, UD, Faceless Void) since most of the time they are left on a 1v1 matchup against a somewhat aggressive offlane.

Pretty sure there will still be that one OP meta that a team has already figured out (like the Tiny-Lycan last year) that will surely test a lot of team's capabilities in handling these cheesy strats.
3351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing and the casino business. on: October 04, 2022, 10:03:55 AM
AFAIK Bustadice and Bitvest are two reputable casinos in this forum that still offer bankroll investment, so if you really want to invest you can choose those casinos. Although it sound investing in casinos are very profitable since the house always win, but they have a rules about withdraw fees where you want to withdraw your money from the bankroll investment. It depends on each casinos, just like Bustadice who ask 2% of the total investment.

If you didn't hold for long and withdraw your investment before it reach at least 2% profit, you'll loss.
Oh, yes, thanks for mentioning these ones, although I haven't heard positive feedbacks from the profitability point of view about these casinos. If I remember correctly someone who invested in Bitvest had his investment pretty negative (in LTC currency I think), while Bustadice didn't show expressive results too. To make this kind of investment worth I believe the casino has to be very active and popular, otherwise it will be a risky deal, since few gamblers can come in, win a big prize, go away and there won't be many customers/gamblers to cover the loss the casino and investors had. Then you might have your money stuck there for a long time just to recover the same amount your deposited initially.

And as you said, there is also this cashout fee rule which discourages the investment a little more...
[/quote]

The strengths of the casino may also be its weakness, too.

If 100 players won a fair amount in a day, it can greatly affect the bankroll of the casino and even one's bankroll investment. IMO investing in casino bankroll is tricky and more dangerous than investing directly in the platform and helping it develop its infrastructures. The return is lower on the latter but it ensures that you'll have profits over time compared to just investing on a bankroll wherein a good day for someone is a bad day for you.

I am glad these tournaments we have at the moment progressed to knockout stages and BO3 games.

Well business wise, its always good to drag this yearly tournament as long as possible to milk in more money from sponsors as they can set up booth and whatsoever during the tournaments. Viewers wise, no complaint as I'd love to watch this tournament for weeks long so yeah everything is just straight up great ( except for the prizepool, kinda expecting it to be atleast 30 millions or something )

3353  Economy / Economics / Re: JPMorgan Chase Is Phasing Out Safe Deposit Boxes on: October 03, 2022, 11:26:39 PM
Well, we do have a lot of secure storage facilities outside of banks anyways, so there will always be some organization that has it covered even if banks were to phase out this offering to their customers. The thing is, how trusted are these organizations to begin with that we entrust them our important physical possessions in hopes that we can still get them when the time comes? They will still probably need the same approval the government gave the banks back then, and if not, well it's better to safekeep your important physical assets in a vault that you only you know where the location is.

For sure other banks will not follow suit with what JP Morgan & Chase's business decision, but eventually SBDs will be phased out as the demand steadily declines through the digitization of lots of important documents that are usually the focus of this service.
3354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Table tennis is the best sport gambling! (My strategy of winning) on: October 03, 2022, 10:58:59 PM
Things to look are:

Odds on the casino site
Last Winning record.
Face appearance (do they look like winners bonus)

If they have a history of losses and unstable gameplay be careful with it.
If they are winner you can bet in the middle of the game big bet even on only 1.4  because you know they will pull it off.
I am in 600 USD profit today in Duelbits

Some proofs:
https://prnt.sc/JRlm6aYf2xB1
https://prnt.sc/NLJ2DTLmgL6q

I use to do this on other sports and guess what, I always lose Grin I thought that whenever a person looks like a protagonist in an anime, he/she will literally win the bet for me. Turns out it isn't the case. But what about if both of the players doesn't look like winners, and one guy's odds are better than the other? Would you still consider that a good game to bet on or will you just skip it? Honestly if this works for you, then it's good, but I don't think this is a sound advice for gamblers at all. Yeah table tennis is a fast and easy sport to win at but only if you have prior knowledge of the sport IMO.

P.S., that bet history with lots of losses isn't really attractive especially if you use this to pitch your strategy.
3355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think this is gambling? [Collectibles & Gambling] on: October 03, 2022, 10:10:31 PM
I think it is in part, because you are banking on the possibility that any of these cards contain something of high value, kinda like the lottery which is more of a chance in getting a huge payout. Then again, if we go by that logic, a lot of things will be considered as gambling, as we always expect to net something positive on our choice to invest on something. Gambling by definition and in general covers a lot of things if we are pedantic about it, but others always beg to differ.
3356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Charges 2 Firms and 4 Individuals in Crypto Pump-and-Dump Scheme on: October 03, 2022, 08:08:26 PM
Imagine if this is 2017 then they'd go after a lot of entities because that is when most of these Pump and Dump scammers prospered. Good thing that the SEC is now actively going after such scammers because if not, a lot would surely be burned just like what happened in countless other cryptos, most recently which is LUNA. I've been with some pump and dump groups before and you never really profited from it unless you're one of the early guys on the group. It's something that I somewhat despise of til now and something that I regretted doing because it leaves a lot of people in the ground.
3357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does everyone want bitcoin to be stable in price? on: October 03, 2022, 05:54:29 PM
If I want to use bitcoin as a currency, a stable price would greatly help me because things can be priced with bitcoin without much change on them. However, what that means is basically removing the speculative trait of bitcoin and just using it as a currency. That also removes a huge number of people on board who only sees bitcoin as a speculative asset and nothing else. So do I want bitcoin's price to be as stable as it can be? My answer: no.

You can still buy things with bitcoin even though it's volatile. Just expect that prices will never ne the same for a long time that is.
3358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be used to clean environment and reduce waste?? on: October 03, 2022, 05:29:51 PM
Yeah, no. Pretty much another unwanted expenditure on the part of the mining firms that it's best to leave the waste as it is and just focus on their main goal: make bitcoin. The idea you outlined is great, although its implementation would require shaving tons of resources from these mining firms. Perhaps some of them can start a movement, but I doubt that they'll ever do that. Recycling waste and turning it into energy is a good thing, but would the energy generated be worth the hassle anyway? Would it remove their 100% dependency on the grid? I don't think so.
3359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 03, 2022, 03:14:33 PM
What about gambling on cruise ships? They have huge casinos. I would say 1/3 or 1/4 of a whole deck. I've been on the cruises 3 times, and every time the ship was in the sea, casinos were full. To be able to make a bet, you just need your cabin card (that is a key, cabin account, on board ID, an all-in-for-everything card). While in casino, just insert your card and you are ready to gamble. No one asks your age.

Cruise ships are generally away from any mainland, so it makes sense that they would not really worry about your age during cruise if you want to gamble. Unless of course there would be any crimes you would commit during the trip. Anyway, your cabin card may even give them a hint on all of your details anyway, hence why they didn't ask much regarding your details and anything about you. They can keep tabs on your gambling habits, they just don't because they profit from.you and there's no law enforcement people nearby anyway.
3360  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa with so much endowed natural resources but remains the poorest. Solutions on: October 03, 2022, 10:18:29 AM
It's not only the West exploiting your natural resources. You also have China setting up debt traps and your politicians wholly accepting it for their own personal gain. The youth needs to stand up against your corrupt politicians and start making moves to remove these guys from the office. Africans are selling Africa to other nations, let's face it. The colonial powers and China are extracting every resource they can from your continent because your leaders allow them to do so. If you want Africa to prosper, stop choosing the same people and putting them in the office then maybe you'll have a head start.
