3341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Concern on time spent my phone & pc due to crypto and btt, is this good or bad? on: April 26, 2022, 03:16:04 PM
is this a good habit that I'm about to begin? Or should I continue to regulate the time I spend with my phone and computer.

There's a saying and i quote "what worth doing worth doing well" as long as you see bitcointalk and any other platform or crypto activities you engage doing really deserve taking your time them you can go ahead, but be reminded as well that any thing you're doing for long and you have no results to show for it is as waste of timez energy and resources, i will also advise you to have a future plan on a long run because later in future or at old age you might not be able to be as versatile as this, nature can't be cheated, also learn to prioritize things, have schedules for all activities, getting busy with your phone or laptop doesn't mean you should dissociate yourself from enjoying every good things in life including human relationship.
3342  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Uniswap Starts Blocking Addresses Linked To 'Blocked Activities' on: April 26, 2022, 02:57:18 PM
As for me personally i never see them as a decentralized exchange right from onset, i don't know much about defi projects, finance or exchange as the case maybe but users have to understand that any exchange that is able to trace, freeze or exercise dominion that overide you as the user and owner of the account is no more a decentralized exchange, in other way if one can not get guaranteed of maximum protection over such exchange on user's data and privacy then it's as simple as a centralized exchange and nothing added.
3343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Features of fake/scam AirDrops on: April 26, 2022, 02:34:00 PM
There have been alot of scam project now...

Three features of fake airdrop.

1: any airdrop that "have no end" they often runs for 2/3 months, majority are not true.  real airdrops don't last more than a month.

2:  95% of airdrop given to "all participants" is not real. Normal airdrop is mainly for a limited number for top referrals.

3: Any airdrop promising you high amount of their token equivalent  $5000, $10,000 or even more without through referral bonus may not be real. Real airdrops don't give such amount, unless you are claiming on  their site where you pay gas fee,

As for me i don't even bother myself hunting for airdrop and faucet-like stuffs they require much time and at the end resulted into wasted efforts what a big punch, although it can be advisable for begginers to have a good start from such so as to learn, according to some user's past experience on airdrops, some have made a good history and lot of people benefited from them unlike noe that the effort does not commiserate with the outcome but only a showcase to waste of time because most airdrops now are the promising package by spammers.
3344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: World Cup Groups. on: April 26, 2022, 02:24:56 PM
Can also recall the one time FIFA president who was directly involved in fraud one way.
But in the case of Nigeria it is very high as you can see some of these ugly acts with your eyes.
Reasons I don't waste my precious time watching Nigerian game's.
How well with the African qualifiers ? Has anyone got a quick update to share ?

Honestly i never find the game more interesting ever since the super eagles couldn't make thier fly to Qatar and this is very disappointing, unless they NFF had a total revamp there may not be any tangible result to come out in Nigeria and ther most annoying of it all are the list of the qualifying countries like Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Tunisia who could not even deliver upto half of the super eagles potentials except for Tunisia, well let's see how the finals will landed with other countries from Europe and the likes.
3345  Economy / Gambling / Re: Btxwar.com new site on: April 26, 2022, 02:11:27 PM
It's like an HTML assignment that I've seen before. Sorry to say but make it better and improve a lot of it. The design is like those marketing webpages that I've also seen before.
So a gambling website is also this prediction game we've been seeing as options. The play button doesn't even work to see how it works, there are a lot of things needed to revamp and fix for this website.

You're right mate, i think they needed to sit well and make lot of implementation innother for their site to gain attraction and you know one thing with gamblers is that they normally look out for qualities like this that can make them enjoy the game in a friendly atmosphere, aslo to me i see it more of a trading site than gambling but maybe that could be my own personal interpretation to it but they have really done well to have put something together worth this, add more effort and make it efficient and you have a better expectations on outcome.
3346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do some project developers like copying on: April 25, 2022, 08:24:41 PM
I think its a foul play if a project team that has a utility like privacy or swap tries to go metaverse and play2earn all of a sudden, why are developers of today like this?

We have to understand the desirability of the developers to withstand the challenges of competition in other for it to stand out, this developers have the idea and insight but lack two determining factors which are capital or access to fund and power, they must do what their comoetitors are doing in other for them to be among their category as we all know that the metaverse is the latest technology in town as this develooers must as well upgrade to that in other to het recognition but at the cause of doing this, there project got stucked on the way due to lack of proper funding to finish it into a successful one, they also lack the political power and influence that can triggered their success bit instead they face government regulation policies to worsen the case.
3347  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sign Up Bonuses on: April 25, 2022, 06:50:21 PM
I have more confidence in deposits bonuses since it requirement is less and most time users don't have to wager when they make winning bets using the bonus, but if it is a signup bonus the player will be subjected to a series of conditions and the site will be trying to prevent abuse of their platform and bonus system.

One thing player don't get along with while dealing with all this casinos is that the bonus given is an encouragement to find the site and the game interesting such away that any new user will benefit from the offer but know that you don't have to withdraw the bonus without playing, giving a sign up bonus is a choice and most of the casinos do give their nee users but i bet you its only useful for playing the games, remember no one want to make business and run loss, i do advise that only deposited the real amount intended to play with so as to avoid unnecessary delay with withdrawal process.
3348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: April 25, 2022, 01:50:58 PM

I really hope their country will succeed with bitcoin although know that it is very difficult because the price volatility of bitcoin is so big

This is barely eight to nine months now and El-Savador is still going along, remember earlier this year the prize run deep around $34k before it swindled it way around $47k, now bitcoin is back to $38k bearish move and you think this will cause a panic on El-Savador's? Bukele has have plans and strategies in place which US fail to see nor understand, but i believe the time El-Savador will begin to unleash it fortune will be when a new ATH record is set and/or after the launch of it volcanic bond, they will definitely survive through because this is not their first experience.
3349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy rug us again? on: April 25, 2022, 01:36:25 PM
Honestly, speaking I dont understand your whole point why you accuse the Microstrategy announcement as the reason why the Bitcoin price sharply fell down based only on buying announcement for me that's crazy, and why the price would be affected if that announcement was positive because it's buying, for me it's not related and I think there are other reasons why the Bitcoin price fall sharply on that day and definitely not because of the buying announcement from Microstrategy. that's my opinion about it.

The fact that Microstrategy keep on accumulating it buys on bitcoin does not have anything to do with the current bearish, i don't understand why people work by assumption theories that are not real, the company is just opportuned to be among the bitcoin whales just as others, what i expect people to talk about is possibly on the next halfing coming up 2024 and the consequence of the last one on the economy, another thing to put into consideration is the bitcoin supply rate which is the functions of the hash rate across the globe, this are the possibilities to consider other than speculating on Microstrategy bitcoin purchasing power.
3350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: April 25, 2022, 01:26:41 PM
A thought experiment i wanted to know.
I have saved it in a disc (was inspired by satoshi who stated it that he has saved it and buried it)
memorised and saved in hdd in air gapped though!

I want to believe you're quite aware of the situation where you does not have access to the keys totally means a denied access to you coins as well, i want to believe in this you're referring to having an hardware wallet or a cold storage whereby the keys are in your possessions, they are actually non custodial and i will drop you with this for more safety: additional protection for your seed and private keys and also, you can go through this
secured air grip storage method they are recommended means to best save your key.
3351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: FIFA and UEFA has suspended Russian Football teams. on: April 25, 2022, 01:07:31 PM
Wow. One man committed so many crimes! Whose hands are at war? Whose hands are committing crimes against the civilian population of Ukraine (as in Bucha and other settlements)? Was it all done by Putin alone? I am sure that when all this is over, the propagandists (who are now saying on TV around the clock that the Ukrainians are Nazis and that they must be destroyed) will say so. But adequate people understand that it's not just about Putin alone.

Add in his cronies and those who wants to benefit from this war. There's a lot involved behind the scenes and they just don't want to be where everyone else's attention is. The one to blame will always be Putin, because he's the face of the Russian government for a long time, but I'm sure that he's not alone when he began plotting for the invasion of Ukraine. I'm sure China and NoKor has their hands on deck too, with the support they've been giving Russia on everything except military might.

It's just sad that Russia's athletes are suffering from this war that is the result of the animosity between the West and Russia. Lots of wasted potentials and talents, as they will surely be singled out and isolated from world sporting events that should have been a platform for them to showcase what they can do to the sporting world.

Yes, it is very strange not to understand that crimes of this magnitude cannot be carried out without the direct participation of hundreds, thousands and even millions of people. And now, while the war is going on, there is no point in determining who is to blame and who is not - the state of Russia is isolated until the war is stopped and the most high-ranking criminals are put in jail. After that, it will be possible to move on to more detailed assessments of the actions of individuals.

I believe football game shouldn't be biased or place under ethnicity segmentation, one thing I know for sure is that football game bring people together from different parts of the globe under the atmosphere of sport and this challenges that is happening to Russia should be a consequence in which their president should bear responsible and not the citizens or it sport organizations, this can happen to any country but when it comes to sport, i see no reason why they should be excluded afterall they are not the perpetrators of the ongoing war.

I repeat, dont deposit here. I played on many bookmakers on internet, some of them are scam others are legit.
Royse777 is a conman and involved in fraudulent activies, his DT friend will help him to defend this scam site.

I think you need to understand how things were being done in a proper manner, first of all, this is gambling section and you should be quite aware that you're on a wrong section laying your accusation, if the allegation you are giving is strong enough for you then why not go to the appropriate board and lay it, we have reputation there and here is meant for gambling discussion thread, and moreover it is not by force to play their game or as long as you have your right to choose either playing or not, am sure you're quite assured of the implications this you're doing might cause you that's why you created an alt account for such.

3354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Coinbase noncustododial wallet recommendable? on: April 24, 2022, 09:11:31 PM
I clicked on the settings icon at the bottom right side of the GUI and I scrolled down to see 'sign out', this more points to that, definitely it is a web wallet.

I don't know why a centralized exchange like coinbase give a wrong perspective on their true representation, they've got to understand why many users have preferred the use of non custodial wallet and think they can derive a means to convince them that they can as well get a non custodial wallet from their reputable exchange brand name (coinbase) just because they generates seeds phrase, and one thing I've observed they aimed at is to have their main targets on the newbie users because they might not easily get to understand their logic here except the experienced users.

but this suggests how the wallet is not even a mobile wallet but a web wallet which is the most vulnerable amoong online wallets.

I've heard of about two different attacks on centralized exchanges like coinbase and metamask within the space of last two weeks and threads were created about them on the forum, but i hardly hear i case scenario of how a decentralized exchange got attacked, personally I don't like centralized exchanges and I advise people to take heed because of the vulnerability to attacks like these and now this time, they are bringing up their web wallet in disguise as a non custodial wallet for people to fall in, coinbase is purely centralized 100% and there's nothing they can do about it in deceiving users because their bubbles will always get bursted here on bitcointalk.

One of the worst feature a wallet should recommend is fingerprint or other biometric means of access,

A true non custodial wallet which is also open source, like open source hardware wallet or airgapped cold wallet on electrum are more secured already and i see no need to the use of fingerprint, because they might thought of user preference in this regards but we are not talking about fashion in dealing with security here.
3355  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising inflation forces investors to look for defensive assets. on: April 24, 2022, 08:15:37 PM
Literally, some assets has been going down in value including fiat and cryptocurrency due to inflation and other issues around the world.
So it's a little difficult to recommend crypto for invertors to hedge their funds since all almost every crypto asset is going down in value too.

Why not make recommendation? this is cryptocurrency and bitcoin for that matter is worth investing even at the time, remember that bitcoin works by price volatility and no matter how inflation looms the economy, it's effect can be withstand by bitcoin before its an incomparable asset that stand out of all other assets which can be affected by inflation.

Cryptocurrency has no collateral.

I like this point you just mentioned, no KYC requirement on bitcoin investment assets and maximum security and privacy well considered, one can decide making a decision on his crypto investment any time without having to consider any drawback of terms and conditions required in other form of investments.
3356  Economy / Economics / Re: Does anyone care about the environment? on: April 24, 2022, 06:28:04 PM
If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.

It's not bad if you can provide us with a link to that, and to clear your doubts about if the bitcoin activities contribute harm to the environment or not, we have different threads that have talked about it already and i think you should get more answers to that on: A simple proposal for an environmental-friendly regulation for Bitcoin mining and also read on this: Re: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument. these will gives more insight on the approach towards the environmental impact of bitcoin and there you will discover how bitcoin is solving part of the problems instead of constituting to it.

How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?

Environmental challenges does not have any impact of the bitcoin price since the mining of bitcoin in not stereotype to a particular or specific location, hash rate is distributed across the globe.
3357  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and investment on: April 24, 2022, 05:59:50 PM
Any efforts made by the state and the economic team will not succeed in fighting inflation, this is because many things can cause inflation to occur, for example, an increase in oil prices, thereby increasing production costs and of course increasing distribution and so on.

I totally disagree with this, because what you're saying is that there's no way out of the inflation which is not possible else the whole economy will sink into recession and by then things would have gotten worst than expected, you have to understand that we have the role of the "National Economy and Strategic Planing Committee, Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planing, the Central Bank, IMF, World Bank, the Fed Reserve among others just to mention but few,  in which they were all saddled with the responsibility of controlling the economy system as against inflation and it is their duty to study, analyze and plan the budgetary allocations such a way that will ensure sustaining the economy and keep it running.

Inflation is that situation where the price of product is increased and the value of money is decreased.

In other words, the demand is higher than the supply and this will cause increase in commodity prize, but before that set in is where the role of the government should come in by fixing that.

When you want invest your money, you should more concern about the inflation. For investing, 1st you should calculate the future value of your money. If the present value of money is less than the future value of money that's mean you may gain profit. Then you can invest.

No any amount of fiat you can invest currently that will evade you from participating in future inflation except in cryptocurrency (bitcoin) which is a decentralized digital currency that does not operate with the principles of fiat to run its economy system.
3358  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs really worth it? on: April 24, 2022, 05:28:24 PM
2. It can be printed.

It can be printed in what context do you mean by this?
Is it that fake fiat currency can be printed or that its nothing when compared to the role and uniqueness of digital currency (bitcoin)?

Countries want to create their own CBDC, some piloted and created theirs already.

Not until the governments realized the need of the people that its not changing the packaging (fiat note - digital fiat CBDC) is what people really want rather than privacy, trust, security and decentralization in their economic and financial lives. this is freedom and the more we are craving for it the more they overlook it and i want to believe that this freedom is already gotten and taken in bitcoin and there's nothing they can do about it.

it is completely controlled by the central bank and the government, CBDCs are just fiat. Why creating CBDCs, it is not necessary in my opinion.

That same thing we don't want is what our leaders are craving for, a situation to exercise dominion over every humanitarian affairs, a situation where they can apprehend unjustful, a situation where we need to beg them before we can have access to our finances and a good living.
3359  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a good move by national bank of Ukraine on: April 23, 2022, 01:53:17 PM
Pretty simple, it's about controlling the currency.

Should we work by the assumption that USD now is their major standard reserve currency that determines their own hyrivnia or they are working partly in favour of US to help them at the cause of the war the more not minding the cost.

If some Ukrainians already have $ them buying bitcoin will not affect the hryvnia parity at all,

Why am much concern about this is that Ukraine has their own hyrivnia as currency not that USD is their standard major currency over there, same as we have many countries with their local currency and USD just just a standard most reserve currency for exchange.

on the other hand, they buy BTC or any other thing with hryvnias that will make the currency drop, by restricting this you try to limit the damage.

Damage on which side please? USD or hyrivnia currency? are they saying bitcoin will only compound to the falling of USD or hyrivnia? if used, because am not clear with the idea here?.

That's why I've always said a country in an economic crisis will never embrace BTC, it's like you suddenly import hard currency for your useless paper,

El-Savador was in debt before adopting bitcoin and they are going smoothly with an unregrettable decision. i think Ukraine has to wake up from it slumber and cease the opportunity in bitcoin for it quick recovery than waiting on USD to make a difference, US itself is undergoing inflation now and are looking for every possible means to get out.
3360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are new bitcoin users early or late to the party? on: April 23, 2022, 11:17:15 AM
I feel like I'm too late and the btc price is literally just gonna go sideways forever.

Side way as how? All you have to know is that going into bitcoin is never too late till now, why is because if we consider how it has started down from the scratch to have made it this far, then I think there are more futures ahead yet unveiled and it will do good if you also cease such opportunity starting from now.

Or maybe a slow gradual push up. Maybe in 20 years it will be worth half a mil.

Its possible, but don't sit down to watch this happening, be part of it happening, if you've been investing on liabilities and fiat then it high time to go into bitcoin.

I dont think we're gonna see anymore gains like people of the 2010s and 13s experienced. and even 2017...|

Talking about all time high (ATH), this has happened before on the account of multiple times as you've stated and will still set another record sooner.

Will btc ever hit a million? Or hundred million?

It seems you're more of spectator than an investor but you need to be positive since you also have the records of tremendous events of the past you, i think the results have answers to this.

Liek I'll literally have dreams of being in 2013 when I first heard about it and buying some... T_T

This same thing some people would have said back then that they wish to have started since the onset of the launch in 2009, you have to understand that in digital cryptocurrency like bitcoin, no time is too late for a start.
