3341  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador has just bought it’s first 200 coins on: September 07, 2021, 02:30:50 PM
It is a really huge amount of purchase which is worth around $10m for now. This is a good preparation before making Bitcoin their legal tender. The most important thing is what will happen later. Because I still don't know how many El Salvador people are likely to use Bitcoin in their daily lives. And I wonder what El Salvador's strategy will be from now on to convince people to use Bitcoin. I hope that they become successful after this move.

Quote
The country depends heavily on money which citizens based abroad, often in the US, send home and these remittances to El Salvador were worth almost $6bn in 2019, amounting to 16% of El Salvador's gross domestic product.

The country moved to using the US dollar as legal tender as a result of these remittances, and the move to Bitcoin is based on an expectation that more Salvadorans will begin sending money home using the cryptocurrency.

What do you think, will some people start using crypto for sending money to their family or dollars?! Fees will have an important role when making a decision... And not just fees, the process can be easier with crypto, and people like it when it's easier and cheaper!

Time will tell, but I think El Salvador made a good move here!

Just wondering also how they can deal up when transaction fees surge up because this could be the pain of their ass also considering each transaction might cost more bucks but I believe they can find ways towards that issue.

But any from that well crypto will be the biggest happening on their country and thanks to their government for showing the support for bitcoin since for sure they will earn something from it in future especially when bitcoin reach up to $100k  or more.

Once El Salvador became the first successful country to adopt bitcoin for sure many countries will consider to make it as their legal tender.
3342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: September 07, 2021, 12:53:31 PM
Seeing the current hype and situation recently, looks like this fight is more possible to happen rather than any other fights to other boxers. We just need to wait for some official announcement. Casimero will not say anything about confirmed fight if there's no inside information he got.

Hype = big money so if this two fighters will hype more there selves then this fight which many fans awaits will surely happen, but I believe they will make this fight done as Inoue is pissed off to Casimero already and their are things needed to prove up that's why I really believe that they will make this huge event happen. Yeah and since casimero already give a hint about their possible upcoming fight for sure the only thing they wait is the agreement between their management.
3343  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Has your bank or credit card told you they will stop you buying crypto? on: September 07, 2021, 11:14:21 AM
The banks are not telling us that they will stop the use of credit card for crypto buying but they are not allowing too. Still, banks are waiting rules and regulations by the respective governments. Hope they will allow soon.

Banks can't say you can't buy cryptocurrencies with their card, but they can just terminate your account agreement and just close it. One of the reasons is what you wrote, which is no regulation, but in my opinion banks do it for another very simple reason. They just know that cryptocurrencies are their direct competition. At the moment, their actions are sporadic as the cryptocurrency market is still relatively small. However, I am sure that with the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies, the intensity of repression by banks will also increase.

Maybe in some point they will think about crypto will be their competitor but actually for the current happening they will not think about that since the money people earned from crypto will still go to them since people needs bank to stored their profit which they exchange to fiat so this is win for them knowing how big the transactions possible created by their costumers, but unfortunately since crypto is not regulated the government will think about that this is illegal maybe they read bad stories about scamming that's why they think that way. So if they regulate it and start with the bank then they cannot do anything but to follow what government told to them and implement it to their clients.
3344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is securing recovery seed this way logical? on: September 07, 2021, 09:41:07 AM
i want to write my recovery words not in order and have another recovery card indicate the order of words and put the different places. so i want to know is it possible if some one found the recovery words make a script or something to test them and found the order of my recovery word (i know this is possible but the spent time is not worthy of doing this i think!)

so is it secure to write recovery all words disorderly (all original words) and have another key to to order the recovery words.

thanks by the way

For making it more vulnerable to any possible hacks due to easily giving tracks to other people especially if they know you well better to use those random phrase generated since its more secure than creating your own but make sure that you stored your secret phrase on safe places where other people doesn't have any access towards it. Also think about other said here since it can make you realize that their methods mentioned is more safe rather than what you are thinking.
3345  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or altcoins on: September 05, 2021, 02:45:47 PM
I watching some altcoins which the bubble are very big. I mean if bear market happen the price of those coin will fall very deep, but it's not a bad thing for contrarian investor like me. Honestly, this one of many reasons why I bought altcoin too. More than 50% of my fund is allocated for btc, and the rest are divided into several altcoin such as ETH, TRX, DASH and etc. Some altcoins has very big potential to get big market share, so in line with company's growth the price of that altcoin will be rise, when all infrastructures are ready for those companies then the price of those altcoin will rise like a rocket. For example is TRX, this coin price is already rise 100% from the lowest point at bearish market, I bought it at very cheap price, today the value is double. I still prefer like to invest in BTC rather than altcoin because altcoin still very depend on the company itself. Government regulations and other economy factors will affect those altcoin.

For quick and big profits, you may consider investing in altcoins but if you want to be 100% safe in your investments, then your best option is bitcoin only.

Bitcoin is not a safe option rather a good choice to invest on since remember the price still so volatile and the chances to lose is so high, we see so many people lose their wealth when suddenly bitcoin drops especially bear season occur on certain months on the ecosystem. Maybe we need to learn on how to manage the risk first so that we will not get caught on false expectation.
3346  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Dogetrix - HYIP/Ponzi scheme on: September 05, 2021, 12:30:26 PM
So old scheme which I think will not succeed here, I'm so sure that many people are so aware about how those ponzi scheme site works also good think this one immediately exposed here since this could be reference for new comers to not invest on this or the same site which offer to good to be true profits to the people who's going to invest with them.

Also the site looks so cheap and obvious.

3347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do Not Sell! Don't Let The Whales Get Your Precious BTC! on: September 05, 2021, 10:52:27 AM
People are buying Bitcoin these days rather than selling. And I think that this is the right thing to do now as long as you didn't buy your Bitcoin years ago. We are still expecting the price to reach $100k by the end of this year and it doesn't seem impossible to me. All we need is a bull run for this to happen. But this bull run shouldn't come late otherwise most probably we will not see this level in this year at least.

That's not the real happening many still selling especially day traders who already settled with their profit for that day but we can say that right now the demand is much higher and sell off is covered by those people who aim to hodl since there are positive predictions spreading and people don't want to get FOMO and do panic buying when price is at the peak. Many are expecting the $100k so I think that's good since if people keep looking forward for that to happen many will think bullish this year.
3348  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 04, 2021, 01:43:26 PM
Someone needs to do an investigation into these protests. Who is provoking the people in El Salvador? There is a lot of FUD and fake news being circulated and it seems to be pretty organized. No one is forcing ordinary people to use BTC. It is their choice whether they want to use cryptocurrency or not. Given this, I don't see any point in protesting against the move. The rollout hasn't yet begun, as the Bitcoin law is effective only from 7th September. And according to rumors, Malta and Panama are next in line.

We don't know what's the real situation happening as we are not living on that country but if their citizen is not really force to use bitcoin then provably this is just a propaganda, maybe this is made by their political enemy so that they can create fud also have something to blame with current administration. For sure we will see like this in future but what good thing is they are starting to use bitcoin and its better to ignore the current news since it will not give any good contribution to bitcoins.
3349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are athletes also becoming problem gamblers? on: September 04, 2021, 11:51:03 AM
Accordingly to this article, athletes are more prone to developing gambling addiction than another individuals: Athletes and problem gambling: what do you need to know?

They present the following reasons to justify potential levels of addiction among players and athletes:

  • Quote
Players and athletes are technically more prone to gambling addiction due to the signs of compulsive gambling like winning expectations, energy levels, competitive spirit, and high IQ levels.
  • Quote
Athletes have higher tendencies of gambling because of their skill set. These people start gambling for the challenges and competitors attached to it but it adds to the risk of getting addicted over time.
  • Quote
The competitive spirit and potential have led the athletes to gamble in multiple forms. Along with these comes an additional addiction to alcohol and drugs. Gambling helps them financially and is highly lucrative. The cycle of addiction begins with wanting to get back what is lost which leads to more losses or wins and so on.
  • Quote
In the case of a normal person, after losing money in gambling, he might want to move to safer ways that would eventually help to recover his losses. Whereas, among athletes, it is a sense of superiority and power, and thus winning is the only option for them as they do not like defeat. More money is invested into gambling, and it goes on.  This is where their addiction begins.

It's not a secret many popular athletes had or still have issues with gambling addiction during their lifetime, which prejudiced their personal lives and careers. Is the mentioned competitive spirit a double edge sword, which helps the athlete to improve his performance, but at same time lead him to an insatiable desire for winnings that may end in a frustrated attempt of beating the casinos?

Or is it just bullshit and another attempt of distancing gambling sponsors from sports' industry? What do you think? Share your opinion, please.

The only thing I find reason why they are prone to become more prone to be addicted gambler its because they mostly got a high salary and some other players are involve with casino so provably this one can trigger there addiction unto this. But I think this is rarely happen now since most of the high paid athletes have financial manager so I thimk there addiction will be controlled since someone is watching their finances.
3350  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be too desperate to make earning on: September 04, 2021, 10:47:31 AM
Being desperate cannot help us earn. In fact it can make us loss because we cannot make a proper plan because of the desperation that we fell. The only thing that we need to do specially when we are desperate or when we arein loss is to keep calm and have some rest for good there is always another day to start again.

What I notice is when we get desperate to earn a profit on some things we are going for ex. trading we will lose more since the more we pressure ourselves to earn and we became greedy its because the first thing came to our mind is big profits, even though we know the risk of losing but still we push since we want to gain profits and its hard to chase and put double of the amount we lose just to recover back and hoping to gain again that's why we should have discipline so that we became contended and knows when to stop if there's a opportunity to gather or bounce back on next time.
3351  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is HITBTC Bad Exchange? on: September 03, 2021, 11:15:18 PM
For so many bad claims posted here regarding on their costumer experience I erase that exchange as my trading platform to trade option since I don't want to get any problem to the money I trade, but since you got an issue there maybe better to move on and think about its lose amount since actually Hitbtc support is so slow or unresponsive so maybe you will just get a head ache for chasing them. So better next time spend your money wisely and go to top tier exchange.
3352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get merit as a newbie? on: September 03, 2021, 12:57:05 PM
Hello legendary, and hero members..am new into the forum..

But also be informative like posting some good contents or helping a certain member regarding to what they are seeking and you might get a merit for that. But anyways its good thing you follow the suggestion given by the community members, also I do hope you will became a good member and not became a troll since there are so many trolls already and its really not good to see any additional one here.
3353  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: September 03, 2021, 11:42:34 AM
The difference here is that we learned about rollbit when they were already good, when they already worked on their website and it was over a year later, so that means we saw a place that "starts" with amazing for us, and that is why they got so much attention.
They have never stopped making improvement on their casino. They listen to customer opinion and pick one of them as their priority. They upgrade the casino to satisfy gambler request.

New coins for deposits. Exchange. New game.

Their support is amazing because I see Rollbit resolve issues from customers very quickly. Because they are new here, I think they will bring more surprise to us.

That's what distinguishes them from other casinos who have made no improvement since long and still running all those games but the gamblers want variety and different exposure which Rollbit is successfully providing them in best possible way. They are emerging a favourite spot for gamblers with all these new additions and exciting offers to community.
That's why they are good since they really do a good research on what gamblers like since if people will keep entertained and be surprise for something new then for sure many will stay on their platform and for several promotion plus addition of some features then they really earn what they deserves so its not surprising that by now this casino is one of the toughest competition since they are continuously doing a good job to make their gamblers impress to them.
3354  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Twitter seems likely to integrate tipping using Bitcoin. on: September 03, 2021, 10:37:18 AM
It sure seems like they're going to require KYC/AML. And while it sucks for sure, can we really blame them? It's highly like that Twitter allowing non-KYC money sending(even if it's just a front-end UI thing, not necessarily them facilitating the transactions) is just going to get themselves in trouble with the government.

In the end, while again— it sucks, this is still in no doubt positive in my book.

Well maybe yes they will implement that since knowing we are dealing money for using twitter but we shouldn't get afraid for that requirements if they require their user to do that since Twitter is a strong platform which is now registered to the government. For sure they think about legalities for implementing that so there's no really big thing to afraid regarding unto this since for sure the one we see is great thing addition usage of bitcoin if twitter would really add up that feature.
3355  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 02, 2021, 12:13:37 PM
The protests are growing in support.

That is a DEPRESSING picture. But OP, you’re wrong. They are NOT “protesting against Bitcoin”, they’re protesting against the laws that FORCE them to accept Bitcoin. I already said it in another thread that accepting Bitcoin legal tender is OK, but forcing the people to accept it without giving them the right to say “NO” will be a problem. El Salvador should let Bitcoin be used in its own merit.

They didn't see the effect by its usage to there people and implementing it as mandatory option is totally a bad  thing to those people who didn't know about new tech the same like that, old people for sure cannot take the risk and imagine on what will happen to them if they see their money melting due to market bad behavior so government needs to revise the implementation and don't force their citizen to use bitcoin make them decide its either they want or not since once bitcoin circulates successfully in the country for sure those who are not into bitcoins will get interest to try if they see their neighbors earning a lot of money for using bitcoins.
3356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Metaverse x Gambling on: September 02, 2021, 10:33:29 AM
Who else thinks that these kind of thing may hit mainstream sooner or later? I don't know if this is something new but seen a  news from Decentral Games that they are launching a play-to-earn Metaverse poker. Others predict next to NFTs boom that it could the the Metaverse hype. Any thoughts?

Quote
Over time, we believe several projects will attempt to deliver play-to-earn architectures. However, due to the state of Decentral Games’ current product and community, DG is in a lucrative position to take advantage of this new wave in gaming with a first-mover advantage. We’ve already built metaverse poker, blackjack, roulette, backgammon, and slots, which are games enjoyed daily by our community through memorable events like live music performances, casino night competitions, poker tournaments, and more.
https://decentral.games/blog/decentral-games-announces-play-to-earn-metaverse-poker-ice-token-rollout

For me if you put any amount on metaverse/NFT we cannot call it gambling maybe we can categorize it the same as other traditional games and the only difference is sometimes we need to put some money just to became stronger. Maybe its time for Bitcointalk to create NFT section since this is booming industry now and might this forum can gather the attention of NFT devs  and market their products here.
3357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Warning]: Fake OpenSea support staff are stealing cryptowallets and NFTs on: September 01, 2021, 10:29:49 PM
See so many the same attempts made by those scammers everywhere so its good for people to verify who they talk especially if they have problems on their accounts and also they should remember that support will never go message first so verify is the key since scammers/impersonators do that to scam people also be more aware and treat as a huge red flag if they ask your private key, seedphrase or any important things unto your account.
3358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to make money or for FUN? on: September 01, 2021, 01:09:19 PM
Both since its hard to play without any motivation and also its so hard to have fun while we are losing money for times so its really hypocrite to say that we only here to have fun, I know many rich kiddos out there will say that but actually at the end of their games and they don't have enough money to spend on other things for sure they will regret on why they used there money to gamble. I know its hard to win or get a profit on gambling but once luck is on our side we should learn how to quit so that we can enjoy the amount we won.
3359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The life span of bitcoin is till infinity on: September 01, 2021, 11:34:56 AM
The number of followers of Bitcoin is increasing day by day. There are Bitcoin investment enthusiasts all over the world. We can all see the daily transaction volume and amount. There may be new investment products in the future, but Bitcoin will not disappear. Bitcoin coexists with people.

Bitcoin has clear and promising prospects, transaction volume and the number of active users continues to grow even during the pandemic period, crypto has increased by more than 300%, this proves that crypto will continue to shine in the future.

Not only that as bitcoin is already reaching at the mainstream and the adoption of El Salvador is one of the perfect move we can see on the history, for sure we can see more from it as bitcoins future is really promising the current pandemic really helps the acceptance to the people globally since it gives good exposure for people who's seeking alternative earning source that's why we exit the bear season early since the demand is so high this year.
3360  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you have a separate phone/PC for crypto? on: September 01, 2021, 10:42:57 AM
I used my phone and pc to both crypto and not crypto stuffs but so far for the span of 5 years in crypto I didn't encounter any issues regarding to hacking or any bad incidents that cost me a financial lost. Its just you need to be careful on everything you do and always think twice on unfamiliar platforms you go. Also don't download anything unverified nor sign up on some things you didn't know to make your accounts safe from frauds.
