3341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi aka Craig Wright seems goes straight to jail :D on: June 19, 2019, 03:07:02 AM

Satoshi Nakamoto is popular and the wildly known creator of Bitcoin. However, this fake Satoshi is just claiming everything the original creator did, and CSW has been in the crypto space early that's why he gains followers and even shills for him in this community.

But then again, we all know that he is not the real Satoshi by any means because he has thousands of excuses not to sign the supposedly original address, and now the court is going to proved that he is indeed a fake one and will be exposed big time.

Satoshi is also creator of Bitcointalk, you know? The forum you are using right now...

So why is Mr Faketoshi not logging as admin here right now? Does craig even know about bitcointalk?

And this is why they don't get it. "Distance" from Bitcoin because they "share" information with authorities? Guess what, Bitcoin shares information with everyone on the same level, including authorities. The blockchain is public and nobody gets special treatment.

This altcoin has several flaws and disadvantages. Mr. Zuckerberg is going to learn the hard way how NOT to make yet another altcoin...
3343  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: June 19, 2019, 12:54:53 AM
Is IP SET button is same IP REPORTER button? If it is I have no luck to get recovery mode.
and at last no new IP listed in router dhcp list. and scanning network with arp also unsuccessful.

Is this maybe happend beacuse of new antminer s9j frimware?

I would suggest you connect a pc or laptop directly to the miner, and perform an ip scan using a tool such as angry ip or nmap.

But, for your information and the people reading this thread:

Quote from: Jan Čapek
The IP report button works if you run discover.py
https://docs.braiins-os.org/#network-miner-discovery

If you boot using the sd card, you can also permanently install Braiins OS to the nand controller flash storage, this would also get rid of the evil 2019 firmware.
3344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government. on: June 18, 2019, 01:37:22 AM
Bitcoin is a poor choice for these activities, as it leaves traces. Even more traces than fiat...

Sure you could mine some yourself, then maybe buy with them one of the fancy altcoins that promise anonymity, and then try with that, but then you could have mined that coin to begin with...
3345  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 18, 2019, 12:11:21 AM
Over 7PH; looking much better!
No, Its Over 9000! (Th/s).

The faster this pool grows back up, the better for everyone.
3346  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining: Adding Solar Home Now, as "Mining Hedge" for future 2020 miners? on: June 17, 2019, 06:59:00 PM
Regardless of what you do, solar panels and a grid tie inverter are going to lower your power bill, now, in 5 years and in 20 years.

If you want to mine no matter what, then even more reason for you to lower that bill. If you never mine, you still save electricity and the thing will ROI in some years.

Only reason to not invest in renewables is lacking the money for the initial investment. Remember, you don't need any batteries you are not going off grid or doing backup power. Of course you can also do that but its much more expensive.
3347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi aka Craig Wright seems goes straight to jail :D on: June 17, 2019, 06:13:00 PM
I doubt he'll end up in prison, he'll probably just get fined and then have to sell/transfer the bitcoin he stole. No doubt this scumbag can afford it too.
Hopefully this will be one of the first court cases of many to eventually bankrupt this fraudster, but we can only hope.

Hope this serves as deterrent for the other faketoshis,,,, Jus't don't.
3348  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Details around setting up a replacement S9 controller on: June 17, 2019, 06:02:02 PM
Jumper jp4 makes it boot from the sd card. You could test Braiins OS by booting that way, then you can mix and match all the hashboards you want, Braiins OS doesn't care, you do the tuning yourself by observing the hash board perform at different speeds and voltages, and stick with the best settings you want (ie. efficiency or power) for each of the boards.

Just make sure chip ideal rate and actual rate match, this might take several retries (and cgminer restarts) for every hash board, as they all respond a bit different to each other anyway.
3349  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: June 17, 2019, 04:09:56 PM
AFAIK in the interest of squeezing all the efficiency possible from a miner these are all using the PSU to regulate the Vcore applied to the chip strings. Losing the on-board regulators saves 5% power loss or more per-board. That means the only way to replace the PSU yourself is by using an exact replacement that has the connections needed for remote voltage control or sensing.

So is an integrated PSU a good idea? With everyone screaming for higher THs/J, yes.

Well i was thinking to use the same PSU from the other T17s for testing... So yes, the same Bitmain PSUs, But don't worry, where there is demand, there might be a supply, all it takes is a psu manufacturer (or customer custom order) psus intended for the latest miners.
3350  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Quiet [40 dB, 8 THs/500 W] Hotmine Convector Miner. Product Overview on: June 17, 2019, 04:03:03 PM
Canaan was a bit ahead of its time, but the idea of appliance mining is good. Someday, all mining will become too expensive to do on large industrial fans, only hobbyists willing to spend money to keep it running and those with free energy will remain, In that world, all those little mining appliances can easily become the main mining force.

As with this heater, you can look at it as a heater that helps itself pay its power bill. Same with the Wifi or the TV, perhaps ovens and kitchens could come next, water heating, etc.
3351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: June 17, 2019, 03:48:23 PM
So..........one of my T17s just died today....about 2 weeks into operation. Apparently having an integrated PSU is NOT A GOOD IDEA!

The miner is fine, but the PSU blown a fuse or something. total of 10 miners, 1 already blew a PSU 2 weeks into operation.

Hope the S17s fare a bit better.

Well you can technically replace the psu, but since you are till under warranty  and unless they explicitly tell you to, send back the whole thing...

Ambient temperature and humidity readings at the time of the event would be useful to know if possible.
3352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bull run due to Binance no longer serving US customers? on: June 17, 2019, 03:33:55 PM
That's strange coz if binance suffers all the market suffers. US citizen distriction is suffering for sure.

It also shows the US market isn't as important, this is the worlds's leading exchange after all, and the most people moving bitcoin are Chinese, with Europeans and Russians not too far behind.

Given that the regulations are for US citizens, it makes perfect sense to separate it, to not annoy their main customer base.

Otherwise you would have to attempt to discriminate users by country, and that means kyc...
3353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Decentralized on: June 17, 2019, 03:18:52 PM
90% of bitcoin hold by whales, only 10% of bitcoin hold by people, whales  can do anything pump btc to moon or dump it to hell,
BUT ask yourself 1 question: What Happens to Bitcoin After All 21 Million Are Mined? then whales completely control bitcoin price.
Bitcoin Is Not Decentralized.

If this was true, why didn't they took it over? the Chinese tried and failed...

What do you think will happen in the year 2140 when the last bitcoin gets mined?

Who controls gold price today? Are they hoarding it or not?
3354  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s9j flashing with sd card problem on: June 13, 2019, 07:39:01 PM
Hello everyone ,
I am here again with another problem  Embarrassed
I was trying to update my s9j control board  with sd card
As bitmain instructed I downloaded  T9+ firmware  ,copied files to  sd card inserted it  then  I shifted jumper number  4 and turned on the control board
after both green and red led were  blinking as it should ,  I turned off control board put jumper 4 to default place ,and remove sd card . but now I can not connect to miner interface i tried to use ip scanner , or ip reporter but couldn't find IP address of miner, what should i do ?

Try to find it using an network scanner such as angry ip or nmap.

Alternative use the sdcard to boot Braiins OS, and use (or install) that instead.
3355  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you want to see on a Crypto Only exchange ? on: June 13, 2019, 07:30:43 PM
A fully decentralized exchange, where people control their own wallets. Pretty much like Bisq but i would hope to get something done in c or c++ rather than Java, that lets you use your system's Tor instead of its own.

Thats what i would like, based on my experience with Bisq.
3356  Economy / Economics / Re: Are there any communists in this forum? Is it compatible with crypto? on: June 13, 2019, 07:22:21 PM
In my opinion crypto maximalism (which implies libertarianism, freedom from state's control of our money) is not compatible with being a communist or even a socialist, as the implementation of these systems requires always some kind of force being applied by the state to "redistribute" wealth, but maybe someone can prove me wrong.

Communism is a political system. It has little with economy and money.  Bitcoin will part state and money. Same as in past they parted religion with state. Communism were totally fine with that. Smiley

In 200 years when you will tell someone that money and state were connected they will think you are mad. Same as you would say to someone that would claim religion and state are connected. And that our political leaders are representative of God on Earth.

Yes, ironically Marxists want to end the State with a giant State, and replace the free market with a State "controlled" command economy. It always ends in a police state that destroys itself from within.

Anarchists claim they are the true communists. Within that group, i think Bitcoin makes more sense, but not Marxists.
3357  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: June 13, 2019, 04:13:23 PM
the 21s is like the bitmain t17  cheaper to buy but not as good as the  s17
the m20s is like the bitmain s17 more costly to buy  but better then the t15

Having run the m20s using close to 3360watts and getting 68.6 th
it is a beast  it reminds me of this scene in the movie " fast and furious "

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtnTZSJndPc

Well thats disappointing, i expected to see your video of the M20S not a clip from fast and furious...

But you could do a chrome paint job to the case if that makes you feel better.

We have a few large miners that failover here. They used to mine here consistently but moved on to other pools that let's say don't treat each TH the same. The nice thing is when they failover they are still ramping up and us consistent Kano miners reap the benefits of 5nd.

I wonder what pool is that, Viabtc? seems to be the fashionable pps pool nowdays...
3359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LATEST: Two oil tankers were damaged in a suspected attack near the entrance to on: June 13, 2019, 03:29:38 PM
If this place is so dangerous, why isn't there a force constantly patrolling the area? Didn't Somali pirates got controlled by having multinational military forces nearby? (and its right next to Hormuz strait).

I don't think Iran would have anything to gain from this.

But be realistic, if the US wanted to "invade" (not really, they would probably just "intervene", as in guided missiles and drones, Libya style) they wouldn't bother with these petty acts and simply "do it".

But we all know at this point Trump is not the type to act with military force, he threatens but never delivers. In the end its just empty rhetoric.
3360  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s9 error "Cannot Find Signature!!!" on: June 13, 2019, 03:06:38 PM
Moral of the story: S9 owners DO NOT upgrade firmware to 2019 version, you will lose SSH access!!!

I wrote that for a reason. Still, you could use an SD card to flash it back using that convoluted T9 firmware method, or simply boot Braiins OS and install that instead.

I don't think S9s should be running any other firmware at this point, unless you have the ancient controller.

With Braiins OS you can improve the efficiency from 100w per tera hash down to around 80w. This alone increased the lifetime of the units against Bitmain's wishes, which is why they responded by locking down ssh access since 2019.
