Did four orders for s-7's today.

It would have been nice to get a coupon or compensation for my poorly made   batch 1.

So far  I have no compensation for my batch one or batch two machines.

But they have the best gear.

total 12.416 btc.

I figure they owe me just about .4 or. 5 btc from batches one and two.

And they figure they owe you and everyone else shit all. What a fucking horrible shitty company they are. If any normal business acted like bitmain does, they'd be bankrupt with the quickness. Luckily for bitmain, they have a (hopefully temporary) monopoly for the home miner's market, and they make money printing machines so they don't actually need customers. We're just there to reduce the risk they take in developing hardware. All they're good at is making decent hardware and shipping. Everything else is a complete shit show.

Well they have
1) the best gear for sale -   watts per gh
2) they ship pretty fast
3) they sell at a better price then anyone else
4)the gear works pretty well

All of the above is true.

5) if there is any kind of a problem they are pretty much fuck you.

Now I am not the biggest buyer they have had but I purchased 15k in s-7's and 2 k in s-5's
and 5k is s-3's
and 5k in s-1's
and 5k in u1's
and 2k in u2's

I wrote fix it threads and reviews for much of the gear.  And I have fixed a shit ton of their miner issues on support posts pm's etc.

when you have 2 pieces of mining gear in the entire world to choose from

S-7
Avalon 6

it is hard to get service or gear.

his rasp pi is fine.

@ op  put this pool in

   Pool1Worker                    1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

   Pool1 password                x

you may have a pool issue

if it mines at the above pool your pools are bad.

Of course just test for a few minutes since it is my pool.

if it mines we can try to figure out a good pool for you.
33405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: December 23, 2015, 12:52:09 AM

Tapeout is normally a step MONTHS in advance of producing actual sellable/manufacture with chips.
Sometimes, if the design wasn't done right, tape-out is just "oops, we designed these but the design don't WORK back to the drawing board to figure out how to FIX what's not working right", though that's not common with modern design tools. More commonly, the design works but doesn't meet the intended specs at which point you have to try to figure out how to fix the design to meet target specs, or you decide to live with the specs achieved if they're close enough to target.

Even in cases where the tape-out prototype chips meet the target specs, actually ramping up to production is still usually a "months to go" thing.

It's not hard to picture Bitfury having working chips NOW though, all of their announcements have been a few months ahead of the corresponding Innosilicon ones, and I'm expecting full production out of Innosilicon 1Q next year timeframe.

I would bet we will see Innosilicon chips for sale before we see Bitfury's.

ya think.  Maybe so.  My guess we get neither of them.
33406  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer s7 stop hashing Help please - BITMAIN on: December 23, 2015, 12:50:11 AM
1) upgrade to the latest firmware.
2) Try another PSU
3) Check boards/Fans.

Hope it will help you.

How can I upgrade to latest firmware as I can't even access the machine through IP or LAN.
I have checked with several PSU as I got 22 Antminer s7 from first batch.
Fans and Boards seem to be working fine but can't access the machine as it doesn't connect to the LAN or doesn't assign the IP to access the interface.

Already sent an email to BITMAIN hope to have this solve soon

never never never never do firmware upgrades 80% of bitmaintechs  firmware upgrades were bad.
33407  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: December 23, 2015, 12:42:30 AM
I've always updated my antminers with Firefox. No need for Chrome. I guarantee he's getting an error because he's trying to extract the file instead of just flashing it as downloaded.

I don't suggest updating the miners, though. Just set a manual fan speed with whatever firmware you miner shipped with.
What manual speed do you use?
What is a safe rpm to use?

depends on room temp and clocks

3480 at 45%
3720 at 50%
3840 at 55%
3980 at 60%
4120 at 65%  all of the above   could be okay

I do 3980 at 60%

33418  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Usb miners that pay more than they consume in power on: December 22, 2015, 06:05:54 PM
Hi guys

I am considering testing out mining.  I have read a lot of mixed views. Many say you will never earn enough to pay for the power that is used. Some say differently.

I do not want to spend a thousand plus just to test and have some fun. So if I want to play and see, is there a guide for a raspberry setup running 5+ USB keys?

What are the fastest USB keys for mining?

Any direction you can provide to get me started would be appreciated

this is the fastest usb stick

33419  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Voltage ripple on: December 22, 2015, 06:03:39 PM
So this question is for the hardware/psu gurus. I'm powering a Neptune heater in my house with server PSUs that don't have native 5v output. I'm using this to step 12v down to 5v to power the KNC controller.

I ordered it a little quickly, and didn't notice that in its specifications ripple is listed as 200mv which is insanely high compared to ATX specifications of 50mv max on the 5v rail.

My question is, how dangerous for the controller is this? Am I looking at imminent death? How would I go about smoothing out the ripple to acceptable levels? I do have server PSUs with native 5v output, but they're less convenient for in house use. I guess I should possibly just use one of them with a single cube to take advantage of it's clean 5v output.

return and get this  ripple is listed at 50mv
