Got it Philip (I frequent Data Centers, network engi)

Regarding the 2 USA not 4?
Is it a network delay issue or node saturation?

Shipping issues and fees are bigger orders.

Most of us order from bitmaintech and use ups.

I do every order as a single unit I have purchased 5 or 6 so far 1 at a time and never had an issue.

If you read threads people getting 3  or 4  at a time have had issue.

If you want 4 do separate orders on the same day

I did 2 on one day 2 times

33426  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I'm Set up follow the example, But i do not Successful ""Avalon6""" on: December 22, 2015, 12:59:24 PM
My guess is the unit is not getting the right power.
Or the unit is not connected to the rasp pi ------the black cable from the unit to the little stick may be bad. try switching sockets on the avalon 6

or the mining site had an issue.

I fixed your photos

the psu should have a short guard on the positive post (yellow cable side)

I have to ask are you giving the psu 240 volts?
are you sure the pcie cables are wired correctly

you could move the black cable to the other socket.

this is my  avalon I used dchp
you used static.  both look okay

yours

the site you are mining on   44 seconds is short you could have waited a bit

I love it Philip, I like to mod everything I can as well.  I am working on a 2880 mod and should have something to show after Christmas.   Wink

Looking forward to seeing this.  Please share when you have the chance.

Thanks in advance...

need fan guards?

here is a good material
I have an older thread then the one above  can't find it but i used

this screen below

http://www.lemproducts.com/product/dehydrator-screen-material/jerky-food-dehydrators

works really well and since it is used in food dehydration heat and off gassing are not an issue.

I will look for some photos of it I used it for usb stick cooling

it is low cost 12 bucks for a 14 inch by 84 inch roll of it.

shipping = 6 bucks  18 dollars = 28x  120 mm fans   math could be wrong say 24
short proof will not rattle.  can take heat . won't off gas food grade material
we all know how fucking hot those sticks would get. The screens never melted

33428  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need help with my PSU for Antminer S3 on: December 22, 2015, 06:22:24 AM
Yeah i just found that post, but apparently the power supply I purchased has all black wires. There are no colored wires on the 24pin connector lol
Here is a picture of the jumper.

Here is a picture of the PSU side.
http://marcomiltenburg.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/ATX-Power-Supply-Connector.jpg

You would need to do it by location instead of by the color of the wire, so top row pin 3 and 4.

the s7 is about 4.6 th do not order 4 if you live in the usa order 2.

consider getting a 30 amp 240 volt circuit

consider getting a 30 amp pdu.

this will run  4 s-7's

lastly
read this thread on psu's

I did lower the noise a bit on the 2880watter it can run for me.

but damn the finksy/j4bbrwock 2x 2000 board is the real deal.

it can do 4 avalon sixes at the lower volt setting or 3 at the over clock setting.

it is small and quiet.  you can do 11.7th in a very small area with 3 avalons on over clock

or  13 th with 4 avalons on low volts

the  4 avalons only need 16 cables

33431  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Dec 11 to Jan 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool club latest setup. on: December 22, 2015, 05:44:56 AM

Yup, massive network growth was totally intended and planned for - that's why difficulty adjusts as it does.  If it wasn't intended then bitcoin would have been broken a long time ago.

I don't think anyone back then could imagine the amount of hashing horsepower we have now, not without speculating "quantum computers and bitcoin" hypotheticality.. none the less, we are climbing to the PetaHash/second..

I think I might go back to them oddballs of alternate crypto-currency, litecoin isn't worth it per-hash/per-watt, them other ones I've never even bothered with other then the now defunct yacoin.. Bah! time to dump my coins into BTC-e and run a random off the shelf trade bot!

Mining looks to be getting very hard right now.  Well one thing about  the sticks they are low power.

Thanks Phillip.  Got your tracking #, can't wait to test it out.  My C19-C20 cable came today so I was able to fire up the 2K IBM PSU.  I'm just using 1 PSU at the moment since only 1 S7 is using it and waiting for the mount.  Without the Voltage changing feature, the S7 hash rate is the same on this PSU as on the EVGA.  Also since I have the older boards, I only have 24 PCI connection max when using 2 x IBM 2K PSU which means I can only connect to 2 S7 and 1 Avalon not 3 S7 like the new board.  Needless to say, I'm anxiously awaiting for the new boards.  =) Here are the picture of my temporary setup so DMwardjr can get a visual of the size of these PSU.  They are quite compact and the Ultra Kaze fan push a ton of air without being too loud.  I can only hear the S7 fans not the Ultra Kaze when both are on.  Very happy and appreciative of this PSU recommendation from both Phillip and DMwardjr.  I have 2 more S7 coming next week as well as additional IBM PSU.  Will update once I have the FAN mount from Phillip.

I let you post a photo

Finally a decent day. Only +2.7% looks like its finally stabilizing.

It seems like a point it has to... but I don't know.  I mean there should be only so many slots out there to put miners in, and so many data centers.  But I'm unsure what to expect at this point.

I think it's likely everyone will be pumping out chips for the near future.  And if bitfury stuff is true... they likely will have huge advantage on next gen gear.
I wonder if we are going to see a big price swing.  230 to 460

so up to 920 would be smoking jump.

could this happen?

numbers are better.

Ingenuity at it's finest, Phil. Good work.  Cool

cheap to make easy to ship. It all fit in a padded flat rate  5.70 from nj to texas lets see if Nhando gets it before christmas.

Nice job on the fan mount!  Brilliant.

those white cutting boards are really rugged and tough.  Pretty thin  material.

What I like and did not show is the psu can sit right on top of  2 or 3 avalon sixes.

A pretty neat compact setup for the guy or girl that went all avalon six.
33436  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitfury ASIC sales in EU and Europe on: December 21, 2015, 11:19:29 PM
I quote air cooling stats because I have no rodent hindquarters to donate regarding immersion cooling. I want to play with these chips and I design for practical air cooling because that covers myself and all my target customers. I do not care at all what Bitfury builds for themselves or their millionaire buddies. That's my reason; can't speak for anyone else.
i do hope you get some to work with.

as always my 2 btc is always available to you if needed.
33437  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to dabble before diving right in on: December 21, 2015, 11:09:41 PM
your internet is fine. but the power cost puts you in a borderline profit .  I am not sure if you should jump in at that price level.

it would be easy for me to tell you do it if you pay lower power cost.

at ten cents a kwatt you may need to sell off gear in two months.

selling off gear to a super low cost power guy needs to be part of your method of profit.

this is becasue your power cost is middle not low.
33438  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to dabble before diving right in on: December 21, 2015, 11:02:28 PM
Danny has covered it pretty well.
I well try to add some helpful info.

Is your power cost under ten cents a kwatt?
Do you have 240 volt power?

if the two above are true and you buy two s-7 antminers you may make money.

if you have dirt cheap power five cents a kwatt your chances are better.

if your power cost is 15 cents or more per kwatt it will be hard to proflt.

240 volt power is helpful if you do not own psu s.
The s-7 likes a good psu.

atx psu s are short cables. so you need two per s-7

33439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 21, 2015, 10:12:49 PM
four cables means stud pcie cables are a must.  I am using the 3 foot 15 gauge pcie cables made custom by finksy/j4bbrwocky.

they are cool and do not over heat.
33440  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: December 21, 2015, 09:23:01 PM
Bitmain's support SUCKS big time !!!

I received the S5+ (7.7T SUPPOSEDLY) at the beginning of September and I immediately opened a support ticket (5th of Sep.) because the results I got with the miner were AWFUL !
I was waiting for 10+ days for a single reply, and each time their reply was asking me "did you do this, did you do that" although I explained in details what I've done, so they were obviously just stalling.
This took like 3 months of Q & A , going into circle with the same questions over and over , to finally notice that beginning December they CLOSED the ticket like it's been solved!!! I re-opened the ticket 10 days ago - and guess what - NO reply yet !!!

They didn't offer ANY solution for the whole time !!!
They tried to put the blame on the PSU's, so I bought 3 new 1600w PSU's  !!! For nothing !!!
I'm still getting like more than 70.000 HW errors per day showing 6.5T at the max Angry

THE WORST COMPANY WITH THE WORST SUPPORT !!! *E*V*E*R* ! ! !

The easy way to lower hw's is lower the freq setting.   What is your freq setting?

325M the default freq. I tried lowering it to 293.75, but things got just slightly better; that was the moment when I got convinced that the PSU's don't do their job, but guess I was wrong.
I tried also to increase it, but got even worse results.

I get that you are really pissed off.  you spent a lot of money and got shitty service.

so you dropped from 325 to 293 and got improvement?    that is good .

I know how to help it do better  but  it involves work.  you need a hot psu by hot 12.2 volts or 12.3 volts

and you need to set freq 300 even.

Now the bitmain psu  has a voltage pot and you can boost the power to 12.2 or 12.3 volts    this should help you get closer to 7.7th and have less hw's.

there is a thread from goxed that shows how ti access the pot on the psu.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1060439.msg13138214#msg13138214

Note psu power can kill you be careful

I think if you set your psu's to 12.2 or 12.3 volts and do freq 300 you will do better.
