3361  Economy / Economics / Re: At what exchange rate would you call Bitcoin dead? on: March 18, 2017, 12:28:24 AM
I think that Bitcoin has gotten to a point that demand would never die off to a point that it can be considered dead under a certain price point. The whole economy surrounding it has certainly adapted to price ups and downs so it's unlikely that Bitcoin would die after reaching a certain price.
3362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.5 btc tx fee on: March 18, 2017, 12:25:30 AM
Somwone was probably drunkenly using a waller that allows hand input for fees and mistook the field. There have been cases that the pool mining the transaction returned the fee but they're certainly not obligated ro.
3363  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: March 18, 2017, 12:21:02 AM
I signed up using your referral link, and waiting the virtual card as promised.

Also is it offering the shipment of its plastic cards worldwide?
Do let me know on how that goes. I'm not 100% sure if Uquid ia still running this promo for free cards.
3364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NEM a scam? on: March 06, 2017, 01:05:52 AM
The fact that a certain altcoin gets pumped doesn't necessarily mean that its developers could be involved in the manipulation. Whales poking at a coin does not imply that its developers are looking to cash out and dump the project and surely doesn't mean that it's a scam as a whole. But other than that, you can't exclude any option since proving the opposite wouldn't exactly be easy.
3365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ETF betting on: March 05, 2017, 01:42:52 PM
Not betting, but if i would bet, then i would bet it will be rejected
If OP is talking about the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF I think that this is the most likely case. The SEC delayed their decision for so long for a reason, and things aren't going to change just because time has passed. But even it's approved, there's no reason to believe that the latest bullish rise in bitcoin markets would also be transfered in the ETF's trading.
3366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: best gambling/casino?? on: March 05, 2017, 12:25:08 PM
Directbet are surely a nice pick. The fact that no account was needed to bet on sports with them was an innovative advance and very suitable for bitcoin gambling from the start. However, at times of high demand when it comes to bitcoin transactions like it's been happening lately, you'd need to find a way to transact bitcoin reliably if you were to use their no-account sport betting feature.
3367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying altcoins over market price up to 200% on: March 05, 2017, 11:54:25 AM
Provided that you don't want "useless" coins, any coin that has some market value would also have decent liquidity to help you fund any project with the altcoin in question with targeted buying. You wouldn't need to buy at double the market price.
3368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Trading Poloniex bot on: March 05, 2017, 11:44:34 AM
I could try a vouch copy for a review but I'd be interested to also know how configuring the bot is like. What are the requirements for one to configure and run it?
3369  Other / MultiBit / Re: Should i worry about my Transactions? on: March 05, 2017, 11:42:29 AM
If they go unconfirmed for too long they'll likely be dropped. Don't try to re-broadcast them and export your private key to a wallet that'd handle fees properly when you see them having been dropped.
3370  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ATTENTION] Bitmixer.io Fake Clone - https://www.bimixer.io/ on: February 26, 2017, 10:48:53 PM
There are several authorities to which you can report phishing websites. Most importantly though, report it to Google and Mozilla so browsers can protect their users.
3371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: price at all time high while utility at all time low on: February 26, 2017, 10:45:21 PM
This is something joked about by anti-bitcoin shills but also a harsh reality. Bitcoin (on its own) can't be a currency helping the poor and unbanked and a highly traded commodity at the same time. The notion that mass adoption by developing countries would usher bitcoin to a higher price is a fallacy IMO.
3372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie Mining Questions, what would you do? and why? on: February 26, 2017, 10:39:34 PM
Nicehash is a good long-term solution for stable profit. Other than that, you could go altcoin hunting and try to mine coins you'd speculate they'd go up in value, but bear in mind that this is mostly worth doing if you'd rather spend power and time instead of capital (mining instead of buying if you think the price will rise).
3373  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [VOUCH] How to get FREEjavascript:void(0); 15 VPS monthly! 2017 WORKS! on: February 26, 2017, 10:35:37 PM
So how are those vouches going. I'd be interested to get one too for a honest review; if OP would like to have a review form a Legendary member.
3374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Concept, Come Poke Holes in My Idea on: February 26, 2017, 10:33:48 PM
I think that the basic client-server model is keeping it as simple as possible when it comes to serving content on a large scale. Such a network would require extensive testing and user support in order to grow and be developed gradually. In the end, regular servers would end up being more reliable too. I can't think of too many use-cases that would need such a network to make sure that there'd be demand for such a thing.
3375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: nullc reddit account suspended 2/23/17 What's the story? on: February 25, 2017, 12:54:06 AM
Was unaware that all this drama was happening on Reddit. If we have people being banned for reasons similar to what's explained above and if we have direct involvement from reddit admins, well... I won't be amazed if suddenly Bitcoin and or cryptocurrency related subreddits disappear...
Reddit has an especially stupid policy on banning users. Admins go through reports by hand and biases can be very obvious. Reddit isn't open as to how many of their employed have the power to ban users but that number surely must have not grown proportionately to Reddit's growth through the years as the platform is not profitable.

Bans are not questioned and there's no appeal process. Reddit employees with ban powers can ban anyone at their will with nobody being able to question their decision. Witchunts often result unsubstantiated bans in Reddit as the lack of Reddit employees on a payroll just puts pressure on the few ones to keep the platform clean and the majority of users pleases, disregarding free speech.

Bitcoin users really need to move on another sort of forum in order to facilitate better discussions.
3376  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you consider a new ATH? on: February 25, 2017, 12:48:50 AM
This is a nice question OP since not everyone will have the same opinion but in a few weeks or months the question will be irrelevant and we will witness new ATH and the discussion will be over for good.
The latest price rise, (whilst more global and seemingly organic within the now larger bitcoin economy compared to the previous one), could very well be a product of price manipulation. If that's the case, support for such high prices wouldn't be sustainable for long. IMO, it's not too likely for the price to keep breaking all time highs on the following weeks, although that'd be nice.
3377  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: transaction not confimed after 3hours whit hight fee! on: February 25, 2017, 12:45:24 AM
There honestly isn't much to do other than wait unless your transaction is urgent and would need to be pushed as is. Only if you fall in the second category, is it worth to go an extra mile for pushing a low fee transaction into quicker confirmation.
3378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who NEEDS bitcoin in a democratic society? on: February 24, 2017, 10:36:53 PM
In today's democratic countries, the of bitcoin is even more than in the non-democratic countries.
Good thing about btc is that it is for everyone and you own your bitcoin, privacy in today's day of age is important so bitcoin also provide at least some of that financially.

I think that privacy is an important feature bitcoin can offer because there are certain cases of people that need it when dealing with money. Few example of use cases in which bitcoin really is the most convenient and perhaps reliable alternative to use would include controversial figures relying on donations for their work (because conventional payment channels may shut them down even after unsubstantiated reports) or people might be to scared to donate if their anonymity is at stake.
3379  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone get this email on Kraken security issue? on: February 24, 2017, 12:43:20 PM
It's a widespread cloudflare problem but in spite of the low chances of individual users having their credentials stolen it's good that they've warned people to change passwords just in case.
3380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why i think we should reduce the block size on: February 24, 2017, 11:28:51 AM
I am serious and challenge you to prove (this means i want to see some proof not speculation) me wrong. Bitcoin price is at an ATH, so are unconfirmed Transactions and the fees. Everybody is talking about scaling up while the number suggest we should scale down. Nobody uses Bitcoin as a currency to buy stuff, everybody is holding and in for a profit, so the fees do not matter. Let us maximize the profit by setting the blocksize to 0.5 MB.
You don't know what bitcoin is used for.

Yes, all transactions are recorded in a public ledger, but this doesn't mean that they can be associated with the type of financial transaction they're fulfilling. While the number of transactions can be associated with the price, it could very well mean that people are starting to use bitcoin as currency more to buy things and so on as the price trend currently favors spending it against the dollar, to buy goods etc.
