Has anyone looked into Bytecoin (BCN)? What are the main differences compared to Darkcoin?
Bytecoin is, from what I hear, ~80% premined (as they waited 2 years to go public), has no gui and only has ring signatures. Darkcoin is 0% premine, has a functional gui, has coin mixing and will implement IP obfuscation and ring signatures in V2.

Also, this isn't a market that's easily day tradable. There isn't enough spread or liquidity in the corrections to pull it off without a lot of experience and taking a couple of weeks off your life expectancy.
You can say that again: I'm a bit on edge due to trading DRK in the last weeks and I noticed a very noticeable increase in white hair ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

You will be lucky if you even get to sell at 0.0035 in a few days ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mindingthecampus.com%2Foriginals%2Fbubble%2520%25281%2529.jpg&t=663&c=JTwusSDX1k4sxg) Utclover is a major FUD spreader. Ignore him immediately. On utcclover own words from the Cinni thread: " Other / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: May 12, 2014, 11:17:24 PM I deserve this. I spread too much FUD just to buy at 22k sat(cheap price). Now this happens. If you really believed the FUD I spread then you shouldn't be trading crypto." Please ignore. Ahahahaha this is epic stuff. "I deserve this, I spread too much FUD" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

The dump will be in a few hours. People buying now will lose atleast half their money if they hold. Remember when there is a pump there is a dump. Good luck. I'll buy back at 0.01
Let me fix that for you ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) There will be corrections of course, but I believe DRK is in the process of finding its true value considering its unique features. Just for comparison purposes, if LTC and DOGE had their money supply adjusted for 4.3mn coins, they would cost 70$ and 8$ respectively (instead of 3$ of DRK). Goes to show how undervalued DRK is. That doesn't mean it must go to similar levels overnight, but fundamentals tend to win in the end.

It is a distributed trustless coinjoin implementation, that being the difference. Were you hiding under a rock when we discussed this long ago? And how do you protect against a user that create tons of sockpupet-addresses to map anonymized addresses ? You ask him to pay 1000 DRK for every node he sets up. And you also do the mixing in multiple nodes. So if it goes over 20 nodes, the bad actor must control all nodes, not just one or the majority of them.

Hey guys, trying to shutdown my masternodes. I have them pointed to a machine that is no longer running, was a vm. In windows qt, I issue command masternode stop and I get not implemented yet. Not sure how to stop it.
DRK is unstoppable ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) lol! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) All this stuff in these posts sound good and stuff but I just wonder what that hard fork will bring.... got a little scared that would mean dumping time! I think it's a safe bet to assume there'll be another hard fork later on to fix bugs that appear live. The masternode payment system is a complex system and its doubtful that testnet has evaluated all possible scenarios where it can break.

Not remotely a competitive threat to Darkcoin, anyway.
Yep, totally different targeting. Btw, Darkcoin will look very good (and attract quite a bit attention) if its price rises a bit more to pass Namecoin + Mastercoin in coinmarketcap... ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

is RC 2 happening on the 14th ??
2 of the 3 patches that were programmed for the 14th will be implemented today and Masternode payments have been postponed for the 25th to iron out some bugs.

Without being mean or anything, can anyone explain in plain English what exactly Mastercoin does? It's worth a lot (~$26 a coin) but I can't get the idea behind it. I'm wondering how it's worth so much?
That's the problem with Mastercoin: The functionality that it introduces is too advanced for the average joe who has no use for it, unless it is dumbed down to practical applications. Privacy/Anonymity however is something that can be used by anyone (and be easily appreciated for its benefits). Coin price is highly related to the number of coins issued. Master coin only has like 500k coins which is 7.6 times less than DRKs. If Master coin was dilluted 7.6 times to reach the same number of coins with DRK (4.3mn), it would cost 28.5 / 7.6 = 3.75$, which is not far from our price level at 3$. On the other hand, people do not really understand how overpriced DOGE and LTC are compared to DRK (or how undervalued DRK is compared to DOGE and LTC). If one reduced the number of DOGEs to the number of DRKs (something like a reverse stock split in which for every 18000 current DOGEs you'd get one new DOGE that would equal the prior 18.000 DOGEs), DOGEs would cost something like 8$ per DOGE... and then you have to ask: 8$...for what? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) If we do that with LTC, where only 4.3mn LTCs would exist, LTC goes something like 70$ per coin... and again the question is "for what?".

There is a good old Anoncoin with TOR/I2p and ongoing zerocoin implementation. I think the zerocoin implementation is way more safe than a coinmixer.
In terms of "ongoing", dark will have coinmixer + ip obfuscation + ring signatures in v2 and none of the trust requirements of zerocoin. So...

any real proof ? ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Plenty of proof... proof-of-stupidity. Claiming scrypt asic can do x11 = ignorance or real issues in the brain department.

AC2 must be extremely butthurt right now. He came to spread the FUD through some kind of constructive criticism (of course the venom was already apparent in phraseology like "darkcoin is a joke" etc) by saying "oh Monero has ring sigs and they are better" but it ended up pretty bad for him (and pretty bullish for the coin) when he catalyzed Evan's reaction into a public statement of "V2 will have ring signatures" which was da bomb ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Not having anything to say after that in terms of technology (it backfired pretty bad), he started the spoetnik/cryptohunter/iloveanoncoin crap ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

I have a problem. I'm using official drkpool: http://www.drkpool.com Sometimes i get Reject(blablabla job not found). After 2-3 hours my worker gets ban(temporary). --no-submit-stale option is on. How can i fix it? Drkpool is kind'a sensitive with the workers being banned - perhaps its a DDOS issue?

I think we are past the point in which shitcoins were launched every day and their value actually increased due to people buying in.
I believe you underestimate the power of stupid people in majority-sized grouping... I don't... I just think they are running low on BTCs after being scammed time-after-time ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
