3361  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: October 18, 2020, 09:03:49 PM
Sorry I haven't bought any of these 19 series and most likely won't be buying any for years to come, but what I know from people who I trust and who have these 19 series as well as the 17 series miners and all of them with no exceptions vouched for the 19 series over the 17 series, since these gears are still new nobody has enough data points to compare it against S9 or M21s for an example, it's easy to compare them to the 17 series because most people weren't as lucky as phill, gears were breaking after a very short period of mining, these S19s aren't doing that (YET), when something is extremely terrible it's very easy to compare it against anything else.

My concern is that the first a few batches of the S19/T19 are good and then the newer batches will not be as good, but I am known to be "paranoid" and Bitmain became my nightmare after having lost thousands of dollars on their mining gears, so my view could be biased.
3362  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: October 17, 2020, 11:49:58 PM
[...]

I gave you merit for reporting back since a few people actually do that, so I just want you to know that your follow-up is appreciated.

As for your problem, I sadly don't have much more to add to Favebook's comment, if returning the gear isn't an option, then all you left with is attempting to fix those boards, try applying some pressure on all the heatsinks, set the miner in a horizontal position, chances are slim to nothing but you lose nothing, whenever this happens to me, I say to myself "Hey, look at the bright side, I have a spare PSU and a control board". Cheesy
3363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance bot for new listed coins on: October 17, 2020, 09:46:27 PM
Very many people use bots for buying and selling coins but until now there is no bot that can buy coins for the initial open exchange .. on Binance exchanges.
everyone wants it so badly because it will be easy to profit in just a few minutes.

There is no such thing as easy profit, if that is the case then everyone would be using it, what the OP is requesting is fairly easy to implement, Binance API is open-source and is relatively easy to work with, all you need is a bit of Javascript skills.

By using

Code:
GET /api/v3/ticker/price

According to Binance API, you will get

Quote
If the symbol is not sent, prices for all symbols will be returned in an array.

So what you want to do here is to store that array and compare it against the next array you get, if a symbol is present in array2 but not in array1 then that's your new listed coin, you can run this script every 60 seconds and this will ensure that the maximum time you are going to miss will be 60 seconds, but you wil need market orders not limit orders.

You will of course need to go through some validations to avoid buying new pairs that are generated from coins that were already there, for example, if Binance adds LTC-XRP, comparing the two arrays will give you a false positive, so a few IFs are going to be needed.

Of course, the real thing will be a lot more than the simple explanation I have given, but any mediocre Javascript programmer can make it.

Keep in mind that many coins actually tank when they are listed on Binance, especially if a large quantity of it was given for bounty hunters and the devs, everybody will rush into selling their coin if it wasn't listed on any other exchange, coins that were already listed on other exchanges tend to increase in price when added to Binance, but fresh coins can do the opposite, so this isn't a 100% accurate strategy and I suggest you test it first before going all in.

3364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S19 and S19 Pro on: October 17, 2020, 09:21:07 PM
None of us have owned s19 long enough to know.

What Phil said makes sense, but if we compare them to the 17 series then they are indeed more reliable, I remember people were reporting dead hash boards a few weeks after they received those S17 and T17s, so if you only want to know if the 19 series is better than the 17 then the short answer is YES, however, words like "more reliable and better" are subjective, the 17 series were so bad that you can compare them to any other gears and safely assume the former will lose.
3365  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: October 17, 2020, 01:29:10 AM
if it takes a million years for 1 video card to search, then a million video cards will be found in 1 year. Unlike mining, when it is extracted regularly for a little bit, the process of searching for keys takes a long time, but the reward is more significant.

The average video card would cost you about $200, so that's $200,000,000 in cards alone, it's safe to assume that you will need 30% of that in other pieces of equipment (apparently a GPU isn't a stand-alone device) so that is another $,60,000,000. You will also need a few million dollars in labor and shit.

The average GPU would consume about 120w per hour to do the "guessing" job, that will be 2.9kwh a day, the average electricity cost is 5 cents per kWh, so you will pay $0.145*1,000,000 = $145,000 daily, in other words, $52,925,000 a year.

A million GPUs would need 120 megawatts of power, and perhaps another 10MW to cool that down, you will need to get your own transformers and build your own infrastructure to attempt that kind of shit, you will be looking at close to 1 billion dollars in total by the end of the year including all the other expenses, that is close to 0.5% of the total value of bitcoin, you will spend a 100,000BTC in an "attempt" to hit a collision of some type, only to realize that those funds were moved to a thousand different addresses, or at best case scenario, whatever you may have found isn't worth a 100,000BTC anyway.

On the other hand, if you use those 1M GPUs for mining you make  $620,000 in profit (after the power bill of 5 cents per kWh), so in a year you make 1/4 of a billion-dollar that is clean money without the chance of actually "stealing" some else's bitcoin.

One-way hash functions are built in a way that makes them economically less incentive compared to when you harness the same resources to make money else way, so if profit is the only "goal" it makes no sense to attempt that unless you want to gamble.

يمكنك شرائه بنفسك من الامازون, ماتحتاج اليه يعرف بأسم Mineral Oil

As far as I know, S17 Pro and S17 (non-pro) use the same exact firmware, so you can use the S17 version for your S17 Pro, I am 99.99% sure about this theory but to be 100% sure wait for Tazy to confirm it, you can also reach out to him on Telegram where he is most active.
3368  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: October 16, 2020, 10:32:04 PM
@windjc, that is a lot of "IFs" which might not happen, I wouldn't count on stimulus to be a life-changing factor for bitcoin, a good portion of that money will surely end up being invested in bitcoin but it won't be something huge, we have a ton of other cryptocurrencies as well as a ton of other markets where most of that money will go to, the good thing about bitcoin, however, is its relatively small market cap.

U.S stock market cap = 27,000 Billion
Bitcoin market cap     = 200 Billion

so if the stimulus is going to be 2000 billion and 1% (20 billion) of that goes into stock, it doesn't add much with only 0.-07%, however, 20 billion for bitcoin is 10% which isn't that bad.

I really would like to see a strong move to ATH.

Watch the S&P 500, if it breaks its ATH (3% from current prices) then bitcoin will likely hit 16k by end of the year if the stock market fails to do so and start collapsing, we will see 9k again.

The rainy season in China is about to finish, thousands of S9s will go offline by the next diff adjustment, let's hope that drop won't be wiped by all the S19/S19 pro miners.

I have been trying to check my stats but keep getting error message
http://solo.ckpool.org/users/3PcZTNU4RiUfs4hWUJt5uf1DQZ8YJXkNU5

This is probably because you never connected to the pool with this worker (btc address) if you try any random BTC address which didn't submit anything to the pool you will always get

Code:

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) Server at solo.ckpool.org Port 443

Are you sure you mined on the solo pool using this address?

As far as i know, there are only two valid URLs:

stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333
stratum+tcp://rfpool.org:3334

Actually there is one more, the previous Europe URL still works.

Code:
stratum+tcp://de.ckpool.org:3333
And this takes me back to my reply on NFW's comment which I need to modify, Moeter81 has the right pool settings in the picture, and those de. URLs are for the solo pool despite not having the word "solo" in them.

3373  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: bitcoind.link حول on: October 15, 2020, 08:27:02 PM

3374  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: October 15, 2020, 08:05:58 PM
It is normal for these Antminers to act strange, I still think your issue is a loose heatsink that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, however, what you described in your last post could also mean that your PSU is faulty, usually, when the temp-sensor issue appears on a single hash board, it means that particular board is bad, but when it happens on all chains then there is a good chance that the PSU is going bad and it can't supply enough power to all boards.

To troubleshoot this you would try with a another PSU, and then remove two hash boards and keep only one at a time, start by keeping chain 0 and then chain 1 and lastly chain 2, by doing this you will confirm whether you have good working hash boards and just need a new PSU or your PSU is fine but the boards are dead.
3375  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: October 15, 2020, 12:21:49 PM
hmm could not get it to work. i will re test

Which firmware are you using? I am pretty positive that any miner with Vnish firmware will work with solo.ckpool.org without an issue, please double-check the URL and worker details, they can get a bit tricky especially with missing the "solo" part in the pool URL>
3376  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: October 14, 2020, 08:47:34 PM
NFW, that is a neat observation, he indeed is pointed to the other "long gone" pool, he should add the solo part in the pool url. the settings are correct, these two URLs belong to the solo pool, however port 443 is down, so only port 3333 works now.

stratum+tcp://de.ckpool.org:443  > will not work
stratum+tcp://de.ckpool.org:3333 > works fine

As for the .de, i think Ck stopped using the server in Germany but de. Url still directs you to the main server located in the U.S, so it should connect just fine.
3377  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: October 14, 2020, 03:34:19 PM
Since when does CK support Vnish but not chipless and other smaller ones?

Since ever i guess.

Maybe you are confusing Kano pool with Cksolo pool. Have you actually tried to mine on solo.ckpool.org using Vnish and were not able to connect?
3378  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN SLOTS] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: October 14, 2020, 01:18:14 PM
to make a list of candidates he would approve and then ask the participants in the CM campaign to vote for 4 ( or depending on the slots) candidates, the ones that gather the most votes enter the campaign.

The problem with this approach is that he won't be able to balance the appearance of the signature across all the different boards he wishes to target, by observing how DS chooses the campaign candidates you can tell that he usually looks for the best canditiate/s within certain boards and not just the best overall, or else he would simply count on the number of earned merit, but that isn't the case.

This approach is very tiring for any campaign manager, but it ensures the best results for the project.

Also for those who don't get accepted, it doesn't always mean the accepted members are better than you overall, they are likely just more fit for that "specific" task.

Good luck to everyone.

3379  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: October 14, 2020, 12:43:46 PM

Use the "Insert Image" function isntead of posting the url.

You settings look right to me, I can't tell if you have any leading/trailing spaces, so the best way to know for sure is by looking at the status page, if the pool shows "Alive" then your settings are correct.

As kids would say these days, BIG OOOOF incoming.
Custom firmware and Ck have a rocky relationship.

Crazy Mining is a rebranded Vnish, Cksolo pool works just fine with Vnish (Asic.to and AwoesomeMiner) so I would assume this would work as well, and might as well hit a block or two.  Tongue
