3361  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: April 08, 2020, 08:27:42 PM
It is very likely that we will be soon witness another crisis after this pandemic event many people around the world are becoming jobless, in other word no financial to face the reality when this such phenomenon exit, add up the mortgage and bills to pay for, it is sure pain in the back to workaround and see what we can do for the upcoming month during this pandemic.

For me I will just thrown away any things that can be sell off, to support what do I need for, and stay on my list to dos after the event I don't have a family for the moment sure give me a time to not worry about.

How about you give me your thought on this event  I might be adapt your idea and get some of it to surest my stability when the time comes,
Honestly, there is nothing much you can do unless the government provides you help. Government of some countries are helping their people during financial crisis. Don't know where you are from, but get to know if there is any kind of aid/program going on to help people financially.
Don't waste anything or don't do anything stupid. Keep your savings with your and spend only what you have to spend. Don't go mad investing on crypto currencies with the hope of making huge profit after the pandemic is over. Know your situation first and then invest.
3362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: YouTube continues to ban crypto content on: April 08, 2020, 08:22:00 PM
According to this article, YouTube continues to ban crypto content; No one knows the reason!. Last December they ban a lot of 'legitimate crypto website'. But lately though, we have seen hundreds if not thousands of fake giveways, and with the Covid-19 pandemic, perhaps there are more crypto related scams appearing on Youtube.

I agree with the ban of crpyto related scams, and they should focus on it. However, if some legit channels are going to be affected, then they have to look at their process of banning, just saying.
I thought those bans were a mistake. Faulty algorithm which marked them as a scam and got automatically deleted. As far as I know, those bans were reversed and a rollback was made were the contents were recovered with proper stats.
You sure they still banning those contents? I haven't heard anyone complain about it yet anywhere and I do still find contents related to crypto currencies from time to time.
3363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin set to RISE into the Halving? on: April 08, 2020, 08:10:34 PM
The most important question on everyone's mind right now is Bitcoin set to rally into the halving or will we see another dump and retest of the recent lows?

In this video I take a in-depth look at the possibilities and probabilities of what happens going into the halving.

https://youtu.be/j78WSzThEK0
You see this is something we can never predict accurately. Was anyone able to actually predict how badly the price would have been affected by the current virus outbreak? Nope. People were instead hoping the price to rise, but you see the exact opposite has happened.
Now, no one is certain how the halving will impact the price. The halving might help us to recover to the previous price. We can already see it growing back!
3364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK outlaws credit card gambling from 14th April on: April 08, 2020, 07:30:32 PM

After 14th April cant use your credit card anymore in the UK for gambling websites.

That's annoying because I like to use the credit card when online for the extra protection it gives me against bad actors.

Will we just have to use a debit card now?

https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/news-action-and-statistics/news/2020/Gambling-on-credit-cards-to-be-banned-from-April-2020.aspx
They probably have their own good reason to ban making payments using credit cards when gambling.
You use credit card for online extra protection? Like you really think making online payments with your credit card is 100% safe? What about your privacy? What if your credentials gets leaked? What if your card details are used for carding and committing criminal activities?
3365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In what way can the crypto world help fight against Covid 19? on: April 07, 2020, 10:12:49 PM
Recently, TokenPocket has hosted a WeWearMask event to call on the community's joint effort in the fight against the Corona virus.
https://twitter.com/TokenPocket_TP/status/1246791435103293441
The participants will be prized with a  total of $2,300 and more. I think this is a good move to set up an example of how the crypto world can help to stop the virus. More projects should be doing this as well.
Yeah, events like this are actually helping us fight against the current virus. Those incentives are attracting more users attention.
Check out www.crypto-games.net . They are holding an event where upto 0.5 BTC will be given to its participants!  All they have to do is share their computing power at folding@home. More information on how f@h is helping to fight against covid19 can be found at their website.
Go to this thread if you wish to join the event.
3366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin current situation on: April 07, 2020, 09:57:49 PM
Sorry, but those people you have mentioned on the second category deserves to suffer like this. Sounds too harsh, but that is the truth. They won't learn their lesson unless they make some good amount of losses. Once they see that their ambition of becoming rich over night by investing on crypto currencies have failed, they will stop and start thinking about long term.
And who makes risky investment by borrowing money from someone else? That next level stupidity.
3367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can crypto gambling be provably fair to regulators? on: April 04, 2020, 03:29:19 PM
Most of the casinos are aware of this issue. If a casino starts running without a license, they will be facing some problems in the long run. The authorities are also not stupid. None of the casino will be willing to support such huge crime. Now, lets say a dummy casino was made to launder money. They will have to eventually move those money somewhere. If they wants to convert it to fiat currency, it will have to go through an exchange. The exchange will have AML and KYC policies, thus the launderers will eventually get caught.
The only option they have is to make direct P2P transaction. Now if they could make a direct P2P transaction, then laundering the money through a casino makes no sense.
3368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Ethereum Wallets on: April 04, 2020, 02:32:14 PM
Looks like you mentioned two online wallets. Blockchain wallet and MyEtherWallet. No way they should be anywhere near the "best ethereum wallet" list. None of the online wallets are safe. No matter how old they are, how secure they are, they are never hundred percent safe from hackers. You want to use a wallet where you don't have full access to the keys, do you? What if someone gets access to your username and password? They will be able to access your blockchain wallet too. What if the website goes down when you are need to access the wallet the most? Online wallets are never a safe option to store your coins!
3369  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments creating digital currencies - Threat or Opportunity? on: April 04, 2020, 07:38:35 AM
What do you think about the currencies that they are about to make? It obviously is going to be a very centralized coin where the government itself is going to control the whole network. Its going to make it easier for the government to track your financial aspects. There will be no financial privacy for you once you start using the coin.
Don't take those currencies as a threat. They are just another cashless payment system made by the goernment.
3370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are having the difficult time, are you still a Bitcoin HODL? on: April 03, 2020, 10:29:51 PM
All those people out there that sold their coins when the price started to drop are regretting now. Well, at least they won't be ever investing on bitcoin or has learned from this that they should never sell out their coins because the price is dropping.
Listen, the price is dropping, not the amount of coins you are holding. You don't make any loss as long as you are holding it. You make loss when you sell it. So just hold it and sit tight!
3371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 03, 2020, 10:27:38 PM
Cry This is my personal experience: I am a gambler who loves gambling mostly on sports betting and have had series of experiences which some a positive and others negative but for the purpose of this thread; I am going to talk about my negative experience.

Just a few days ago, the government of my country made an announcement about stay at a home policy which made me get boredom. During these few days, I have been involved actively in gambling mainly on virtual sports betting which I have lost beyond my imagination.

At first, I lost a whopping sum of #30,000 (NGN) in a local currency, I played some games and won with some good profits which I used to Carter for the family but went the next day to meet my Waterloo during which I lost the said amount. This has affected me and caused me a sleepless night because the said money wasn't for me but the entire family for upkeep during this trial moment. I am regretting my loss because the remaining members of the family aren't aware of this loss. This has not happened to me before now until this compulsory self quarantine from the government.

To my co-gamblers: these days are tempting, ensure to be more careful with your savings and "never gamble what you can't afford to lose"
Sorry to hear that you had lost all the money you placed for betting. But, listen, you made a mistake. You should have never played with those money. Was gambling your only option to earn? If yes, then you are wrong. You probably might be using thinking that this is the only option because you might be addicted to gambling. You are using this as an excuse to gamble.
What has happened has happened, try to not repeat the mistakes. You can't do anything about the past, but you can make your present and the future better. If needed, consult someone who can help you with your addiction.
3372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders need to learn on: April 03, 2020, 10:22:42 PM
Okay, yeah whatever you said is partially correct, but no, they shouldn't always be thinking about making profits. If one keeps on making strategies for  profit, then there might be a time where he will have to deal with a situation where he will have to make perfect exit with minimum loss, but won't be able to do so since he had never made any kind of exit strategy.
My point is, instead of thinking about profits only, try to think about the other aspects too. Try to think about what to do when you suffer huge loss. Try to think about the "mistakes" that you might make or have made.
3373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will coronavirus encourage people to use crypto more thoroughly? on: April 03, 2020, 10:15:10 PM
Coronavirus is actively transmitted without the use of money. I dont think that this will encourage people to use cashless payments, including cryptocurrencies.
Actively transmitted without the use of money, but there is a chance of transmitting through money, right? Then why risk it? Just because the virus can transmit through 50 different ways, does not mean that we should no longer care and take precautions of not transmitting it through money. The virus can live us to 24 hours on paper. And remember, the money is goes through the hands of at least more than 10 people in one single day and carries lots of other germs along with it. If people know how many different kinds of germs exist on a paper money, they would start opting in for cashless payment system.
3374  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Replace Banks? on: April 03, 2020, 09:50:22 PM
In a long term, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can take some of the users of banks, but most people will still use the bank system since it's easier to use and provides more offers. Nothing will change in the next 10 years.
How is this going to happen? If the government put strict restrictions on the usage of crypto currencies, how would it take over the banks? If the government starts to ban and make transactions made with crypto currencies illegal, how will people use it on the first place, let alone taking over banks?
True, nothing much will change in the next 10 years, but the banks might start using the blockchain technology (not crypto currencies, just the technology) which will eventually make people release about the benefits of crypto currencies.
3375  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best debit cards to spend BTC on: April 03, 2020, 09:42:46 PM
A bit off topic but why people don't sell their BTC and use their own debit cards instead of using a crypto funded one? In the end it's the same thing but with less fees. The company behind the card has to sell your BTCs to pay the merchant with fiat. What's the advantage?

- Underbanked or unbanked people and there are millions, in the US it represents ~25%of the population and there are 2 billion worldwide
- Some banks are not very friendly with funds coming from exchanges
- Taxes evasion
- Privacy

It's the usual reasons and yes it costs a bit higher but it's not a problem for most people

You sure people use bitcoin based cards for tax evasions and stuffs? Well, if they do, then they are dumb and stupid to be honest. Firstly, most of the bitcoin card providers will ask you to provide with your personal information. Why do you think they do that? Because they have to due to Anti Money Laundering laws or else they won't be able to serve their customers. At least you have to go through KYC in US based companies.
There you go, no privacy either.
3376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm concern for this family on this covid-19 pandemic on: April 03, 2020, 09:33:51 PM
Almost 50% people are living under quarantine conditions for the past few weeks because we have no other solution to handle to deadly spread of this Covid 19..If you are being tested as positive then you also no need to worry because mortality rate is pretty less and for a human with normal health condition will get survive in couple of weeks. But we have to be careful if we are not having that virus yet, stay safe and clean.
The mortality rate is low? It is almost 20% and you think that it is low? out of 100 people infected, 20 of them dies!
Also, you with good health condition might survive the virus, but think about the others. Those who are old or has weak immune system? They might get infected because of you. So yeah, no matter how strong your immune system is, just stay home and stay safe. Don't go running around like fool and start risking other peoples life.
3377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin was $3,871 on this day - 1 year ago on: April 03, 2020, 08:48:40 PM
Would be really great if people stopped comparing the price of bitcoin. Doesn't matter how much it was 2 years ago or 3 years ago. We should be thinking about the future. How to develop it, how to  make it more universal, how to convince people to use it and so on. Just stop focusing on the price. Do you really think its the price that is going to define how successful bitcoin is going to be? If yes, then stop focusing on the price and start spreading the word of bitcoin and its usefulness. You will see the price increasing by its own once people start using it!
3378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The door is never closed to new traders on: April 03, 2020, 08:14:10 PM
True, its never "closed" for new traders, but that doesn't mean that they should be jumping to trading coins right away. This is the big mistake most of the new traders make. They think trading is an easy task and starts trading without even knowing the basics of the market. Hence, they end up making huge loss, and later starts crying and says that the crypto currencies are scam, ponzie schemes, "only the rich makes profit" and some other bullshits.
They should first learn how the market works. They should start small and if they make mistakes which made them lose money, they should learn from those mistakes instead of crying here and there.
3379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to escape loss as an altcoin trader on: April 03, 2020, 07:43:57 PM
Lol, that's not a very "smart" way to "escape" from losses catching up to you. Just trading your altcoin to a stable coin like USDT when you have reached your profit goal isn't the solution. Why would you even trade it to USDT in the first place? Wouldn't it be better if you convert it to fiat instead? Anyway, the solution you put forward is good only if you decide to never trade at all after reaching your profit goal. If you start trading again, you will have to invest your back back to altcoins and there will always be a chance to lose your investment.
3380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: April 02, 2020, 10:53:35 PM
I am not sure if you know what the term "outbreak" means, but reading rest of your post, I guess you meant after the pandemic ends, am I going to return to gamble in a physical casino or not. You probably thought that outbreak means end. It actually means spreading out spontaneously suddenly to a point controlling it becomes hard.
I don't gamble much, occasionally visit casinos.  Would rather do something I enjoy more than gambling.
