3361  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Call to arms] Why don't you destroy BFL rather than QQ? on: June 09, 2013, 02:54:58 PM
It was worth the try. <Shrug>?

I honestly can say I've never seen someone so wiling to bring legal heat upon themselves Sad This is not normal. I hope we don't disappoint him.

All I can continue to do is shake my head in disbelief at this entire situation, and the continued taunting, hubris, and braggadocio only serves to steel my resolve in this matter further.

3362  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: D35TR0Y3R on: June 09, 2013, 06:19:31 AM
Yes, so I know you control the address!

LOLWUT ?! This is what signing messages is for.
3363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Call to arms] Why don't you destroy BFL rather than QQ? on: June 09, 2013, 05:49:13 AM
I appreciate the apology, but it's pretty hard to take seriously when, in the same post (and many others), you continue to talk up how you're going to bring about an epic lawsuit against BFL.

I don't believe I am saying anything offensive, detrimental, uncivil, false, slanderous or libelous.
You're absolutely right, you're not.  You're just being threatening (in the legal sense).  Much like physical threats, I do not respond well to either.  Like I said, if you're going to do it, skin that hogleg and go to work; quit talking about it.  You have made your intent to initiate legal proceedings very clear, so there's nothing more to say other than "see you in court."

The letter has not yet been sent.

It's not too late to settle this civilly via email.

With all due respect, I'm trying to be as reasonable and civil as possible. I am sorry you feel threatened.

You should have no reason to feel threatened if you have done nothing wrong.

I don't feel threatened by you in any way, I said you were being threatening, that's why I'm telling you to get on with it and quit yakkin' about it.  Just because a chihuahua arches it back, grows and yips in a threatening manner at a person doesn't mean the person is threatened by the chihuahua.  Sometimes it's even cute.

 Undecided

Ok. I tried.

Yes Xian, we've all heard, ad naseum, about how you're going to mount the awesome legal offensive against BFL.

Patience. Dotting our I's and crossing our T's.

Nobody cares, haven't you figured that out yet?  Just get on with it, all this posturing you are doing is just making you look like more of a tool than anything else.  Like someone already said, if you really had legal council, you wouldn't be posting on the forum.  You're a joke, man, move on.

I don't believe I am saying anything offensive, detrimental, uncivil, false, slanderous or libelous.

In fact, I'll do you one better, seeing as how I've never directly addressed you about this, here we go.

Josh, honestly and truly, in retrospect, I'm sorry I lost my cool and telling you to "Fuck off and eat a bag of dicks". I know you guys have been under a tremendous amount of stress over the last 11 months, and I'm sure some angry customer like me was the last thing you wanted to deal with.

I apologize for getting so wildly bent-out-of-shape over this entire development.

Please understand that came from a place of a frustration I have never experienced before, and, well, here we are.

I wish I could go back and be more chill about the situation and not harangue you as bitterly and explicitly as I did.

I'm very sorry that you think I'm a joke. Even more sorry we could not resolve this dispute civilly.

All I can say is, I've been patient for 11 months. I hope you can appreciate me asking you to remain patient for a little while longer.

3366  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: When will the gpu line be crossed? on: June 09, 2013, 05:01:09 AM
Since profit margins vary wildly depending on how efficiently people have set up their rigs, how much their electricity costs, and how much they expect to make off selling their GPUs, it is fair to say that "the GPU line is being crossed now", it's just that the line is thick and some have crossed, some are crossing, and some have yet to cross it.

I believe this to be the case as well, especially with this last difficulty jump given current BTC/USD valuation. I see myself retiring all of my GPU's by Christmas - Don't much see the point in switching the GPU's to LTC (although, I'm open to being convinced otherwise)
3367  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Chips - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited Pick Up. on: June 09, 2013, 04:38:17 AM
Can those purchasing chips go Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited and pick them up directly?
You wish. TSMC is the biggest semiconductor foundry in the world. This is an order of less than a million chips from some college dropout punk. They usually don't even accommodate in-person pickup for their biggest customers (billions of dollars) because it's a logistical headache and because of concerns with export restrictions and similar. The only exception is samples (sometimes).
Not to mention that the chips belong to Avalon, not you, as far as TSMC is concerned.
If you show up at their campus you will receive the polite Taiwanese version of "fuck you, get out".

Some of the smartest and financially-well-off people I know and work with are college dropout punks.

All things being equal, he's a multi-millionaire college dropout punk.

Just saying, you have to give him credit for having the initiative and drive to organize and pull this project off.
3368  Other / Meta / Re: New NSFW Category? on: June 09, 2013, 04:33:02 AM
This place kinda gets bad with trolling and craziness already.

Can you imagine adding perverted noobs into the mix overflowing into other subs asking how to buy Bitcoins so they can get a cam show, by adding a NSFW sub here ?

This place would end up being overrun with the equivalent of People-of-Walmart shoppers at Sodom-and-Gomorrah-meets-the-Second-Circle-of-Hell Undecided

I'm pretty sure Reddit has some NSFW Bitcoin related subs for people seeking that sort of entertainment.
3369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 1,483 remaining on: June 09, 2013, 03:52:01 AM
Its possible, but out of all the options for ascis right now, this is the cheapest.  Other than the WAAAAY over priced USB block erupter.

Except that AM Erupters are available for purchase, and shipping within 5 days right now. We're still going to need to wait for a while to get these little guys into our hands.
3370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Sample Chips on: June 09, 2013, 03:43:38 AM
This is awesome to see ! Glad things are picking up speed with the Avalon team.
3371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Call to arms] Why don't you destroy BFL rather than QQ? on: June 09, 2013, 03:41:13 AM
Wrong, it's a matter of degree Inaba, someone may come right up to the peak and not make it over, whereas someone else will be just barely more prepared, and slightly less incompetent, and still make it.
Don't try to rewrite history. Tom was and is a drunk piece of shit.  He's one step away from a scummy used car salesman, nothing more.  He lied from day one about his ASIC bullshit and strung people along with no clear ability or path to delivering.  BFL has made mistakes, yes, but at least we've always had a clear path forward and we've always intended to deliver a product.  Tom... not so much.
Has anyone compiled a list of your invective?  I think that may be fun to read Cheesy  Possibly good for newbs to know before they get involved..
I would love if someone did... then there'd be a central place that I can point to and say "You're full of shit, this is what I said, not your mindless bullshit you keep peddling."

I would appreciate this as well. Will be helpful in the coming weeks.
3372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashTech Avalon Clone Hashing Modules 22GH/s - 12.99 BTC on: June 09, 2013, 01:29:30 AM
I appreciate your input. But we will certainly continue to strive to prove ourselves.

Offering demo units to forum users to verify is certainly one good way of doing this. Good luck with this project.

Already received as of 9:15 AM CST today pretty much all of what was received yesterday. Looks to be a good day Cheesy Gotta love variance in any pool. Keep up the good work Bitminter and DrHaribo!
Man, you said it, and now again, we're at another hell-block. Oh well. Just another day in the mines... *hums the tune to The Song of the Volga Boatmen*
72% CDF is no hell block. But at this difficulty even most lucky blocks will require a considerable amount of work.

No doubt Sad This last difficultly jump REALLY hurts square in the male genitalia. Almost makes me want to get out of the game entirely looking into my crystal ball over the next six-months-to-a-year Undecided
3374  Other / Meta / Re: Deleted Post - censorship here on: June 08, 2013, 09:04:59 PM
You need to go somewhere (like a deserted island) where you can be alone with your thoughts for the rest of your useless existence.
Nop, the perverts must go to some lone island so other normal people can live without them around. They are absolute minority who does not respect other people and traditions.

Honey, you are turning me on when you talk that way. I can smell a flaming closeted-case half-way around the world, and boy, let me tell you, my nostrils are flaring !

Would you like to accompany me on a lone island for the rest of our perverted natural lives ? You can be my cocoa and I can be your nut.

3376  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Question for GPU miners on: June 08, 2013, 08:52:34 PM
With this last difficulty increase, I don't see GPU mining as being profitable any longer if you are looking to invest in PC hardware. Will probably be phasing, parting-out, and selling my GPU rigs by Christmas.

Disclosure: Was mining at a loss for a while over the last two years and ended up paying for all my GPU purchases + current ASIC hardware purchases, so YMMV.
3377  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty jumps 28% on: June 08, 2013, 08:25:04 PM
Wow we still talking about gpus considering asic's will be obsolete by 2014.

LOLWUT ?! Please explain your reasoning for this statement.
3378  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will asicminer price ever drop again? on: June 08, 2013, 08:05:51 PM
True, but that still doesn't stop them from going to 51% if they feel like it. You can help prevent something if you use P2Pool. So please check it out.
Friedcat has stated that they will NOT go near the 51% - which is why they moved away from BTCGuild in the first place.

This speaks volumes to Friedcat really caring about BTC long-term, and why I've thrown money at the guy. I can't imagine them wanting to go much more beyond 25% of total processing power without causing massive fear or risk destabilizing Bitcoin.
3379  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) CLOSED AND COMPLETED! on: June 08, 2013, 07:59:15 PM
It was originally from a 3Com 24 port 10mbps network hub

You win the MacGyver award for today. Impressive.

What do other people think about having multiple forum threads?

FWIW, I would say just stick with this one thread and update the OP with a link to the latest notes ITT.

Seeing a thread with 545 pages commands a certain degree of respect and gravitas, with respect to this project. Afraid making a post for each release would fragment things further.
