3381  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Funds went missing on a transfer from Binance to Coinbase on: September 21, 2020, 01:08:14 PM
This is why non custodial wallets are a much better option for users especially if one is looking to store the coins and not trade them off immediately. Also knowing if the exchange or wallet supports the coin you are sending to them is a must otherwise sorry OP.
3382  Other / Archival / Re: Newbie Newbie Yes Legendary - A Poem on: September 17, 2020, 02:24:17 PM
I still don't understand the point you are trying to put across.
How is this poem beneficial to beginners or Newbies?

Now I know that once in a while, we have got to loosen up a bit but this poem is not necessary in this section. Maybe Offtopic board would do.
3383  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org forum's signatures & avatars on: September 16, 2020, 02:54:54 PM
I have a question.
Is it Okay for to modify part of the signature (the 10 years of bitcointalk part) to something of my linking like a link to the forum rules or something historic about bitcoin?

Time to drop a bomb again on that account. Few reports will do, mods will obviously see.
After having all but four posts deleted by mods last time round, the account is back again with the usual links from coinpedia. I don't know why mods haven't banned it yet but I will keep reporting the posts

3385  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Huawei without Google on: September 15, 2020, 07:21:02 PM
Me, too, is also annoyed by the pre-installed applications from google, but as a Huawei phone user, I find it incomplete without using Google Playstore.
It's because you are too used to Google playstore and nothing else. I have already familiarized myself with Huawei's App gallery on my phone as i am looking forward to getting another one of their phones and most of the popular apps are in there

There are a couple of popular third party android app stores I know about such as APKpure, and they always keep them updated. Whatever app you might fail to get in Huawei AppGallery, you can easily get it from 3rd party app stores.

3386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 14, 2020, 11:48:56 PM
I think Koeman knew that when taking over. Everybody was talking about him being just a temporary solution, especially since presidential candidates lay out their plans (managers of their choosing, players they will try to bring) before the elections. This will still be good for his resume and he's got nothing to lose. If he succeeds clubs will want him, even if he fails Barcelona is always a good reference.

He did good things with Netherlands but was without a club job for a long time (and club jobs are always preferred to being in charge of national tams).
Even if he knew about it, I don't think it was the right thing to do by the Presidential candidate. At the end of the day this will affect Barcelona. Koeman won't have a lot of motivation to try and make the team perform well knowing that he was not a wanted man right from the time he joined the club, after all he will still be getting his salary regardless of how Barca perform.

-snip-
If the accounts recovery team hasn't responded to you for that long then i think you are out of luck. The only way to continue now is use a new account as i advised you some months back

Only the accounts recovery team can provide you with the answer on whether the can consider unblocking your account after seeing a couple of vouches. But the said users are still very active here, all you have to do is send them PMs

I think you have been in this forum long enough to know that in the early day recovering hacked accounts even after proo of ownership was almost an impossible task until the cryptios team came in to ease the process but now your account has been compromised so many times in a short period of time to an extent that they have started doubting if the original owner is still in control of the account.

IF i were you, as I am waiting, i would create another account and use it to build my trading reputation
3388  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: fortune jack not paying payout 1.4btc on: September 13, 2020, 12:21:40 AM
Have you contacted their support and they said they won't pay you? Security check is a normal procedure taken when usually withdrawing from Fortunejack especially with large amounts.
Come on man, you can't call a casino or service scam basing on a 3 hour withdrawal delay  Sad
3389  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM! rahakott.ch is a copycat of rahakott.io Wallet which stopped operating. on: September 11, 2020, 02:06:58 PM
Good catch! At first I thought rahakott.ch is just their other domain (chinese domain) but glad you've mentioned that the main Rahakkot.io website is already down.
They already had an Op to switch languages on their website so there was no need for a different domain specifically for Chinese language

Code:
https://rahakott.io/lang/cn

They also had warnings about phishing domains on their website but that won't be visible anymore since it's Offline so i will leave the warning here;

Quote
Warning about phishing attempts
Attention!

We have discovered Rahakott phishing attempts. Our official addresses:

https://rahakott.io
https://rahakott.com
http://rahakottymyflyum.onion
http://rahakott2jmcdnajbsmi6b74t3koh5wnlpsoym44jccli6rzjvk2tcad.onion
Any other addresses pose a risk of losing your funds! Be careful!
Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20200729071822/https://rahakott.io/pages/news

But aren't we late to report this? Rahakkot.io fully stopped their operations in the mid August and only shutdown their website recently, which had been the time that those scammers would copy the Rahakott's website to their own domain.
It's not late, the scam is actually just getting started since the original wallet closed their website.
The warnings can help people who might google the domain name. They could end up seeing this thread.
3390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Perfect Money safe to store big money or not ? on: September 11, 2020, 11:35:32 AM
I think it depends on how long you are planning to keep the money in there, If it's for a very long time then i don't think it's a good idea. I am not so familiar with perfect money but in my opinion, I think it would be much better you buy one of those stablecoins like USDT, USDC etc if you are worried about price fluctuations of other cryptos like BTC, and then buy a hardware wallet where you can generate and address to store your coins so that you can have complete control of your funds.

3392  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help with electrum wanted needed : Android version on: September 09, 2020, 11:41:07 AM
I think there's something missing, not sure what but try this

In the "Enter your seed phrase" page do you see that setting Icon on the top right? Click on it and check the "BiP 39" option and try again entering your seed and see if it works. Check if the addresses generated are the same addresses you expect
3393  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 0.047 BTC loan on: September 08, 2020, 11:52:53 PM
So if you dont wanna loan, feel free to donate or share on social media.
And how exactly is the lender going to make any returns from donating? This is business we are talking about not a charity organization. Do you even understand anything about business?

im following you for the past 3 years. 0 contribution to community.
What do you mean by following yet your account just keeps waking up after long periods of time?

It is financial issue. As i want to donate but i dont have funds at the moment.
Donation is not supposed to be by force, If you don't have money. Just let it go. What's the point of donating money you don't have  Huh

But okay whatever....link is here....donate...share or delete...whatever....there are plenty other communities willing to help as well as many members on local board...
Then why are you still here. Go to the so-called communities that are willing to help already.
3394  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Need help with Old Electrum Wallet on: September 08, 2020, 11:28:41 PM
I would also try this one, my electrum wallet was based on standard wallet only. I didn't see there's a more secured feature in electrum wallet, most of my web wallets are in 2FA, so I am gonna explore this one. Thank you for sharing this hosseinimr93 .
Just a heads up, If you enable 2FA on electrum, you will be charged  certain fee. Check here for more details; https://api.trustedcoin.com/#/electrum-help
Personally I don't see any need for 2FA on electrum as long as the seed phrase back up, private keys and the Password or Pin are only known to you.

by the way, What are the pros and cons, if I loss the "2FA" code, can I still access my wallet?
I have already talked about the con which is the fee you are charged.
If you lose your 2FA code or phone, just make sure you have your seed phrase backed up. All you have to do is recover the wallet using the seed phrase and then disable the 2FA

3396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 - Everything You Need to Know About Eth-2.0 [New] on: September 08, 2020, 10:27:55 PM
Now the question is will it be a successfull upgrade?
It better be successful, Because if it does not, Ethereum is doomed. The only problem is POW seems a little more decentralized as compared to POS

What is your opinion on Eth-2.0 update? Share with us!! !
Personally my issue at the moment is fees. The upgrade would reduce the transactions fee-burden which we are experiencing on the Ethereum network right now. Hell, Ethereum is not even near 1/3 of the bull run it had back in 2017-2018, Imagine what the transaction fees would be if tried to hit $1,500  on the current POW algorithm. So much for a network that was created to have much lower transaction fees than Bitcoin's   Grin
3397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Tokenization] Bitcoin on Ethereum ?! VS DeFi on: September 08, 2020, 10:00:33 PM
I think there are a couple of project already doing this. The one i am more familiar with is WBTC(Wrapped BTC or BTC on Ethereum network). The project started off in 2018, if i remember very well, It wasn't popular back then but the DeFi hype resurrected it.

What I don't like by this kind of arrangement is that more money is now going int ETH more than it's supposed to be for BTC -  Nearly $100M in Bitcoin Moved to Ethereum in July, Led by Retail Traders

This consequently affects the price of BTC in general. For example since March, BTC price has risen by about x2 But Ether's price has risen by about x3.5

3398  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Using wallet on iPhone on: September 08, 2020, 08:58:44 PM
What if I buy Bitcoing with Coinbase and keep them in my Coinbase account. Is that also a wallet? Are my Bitoin fractions safe with Coinbase? I was browsing this tutorial and it's unclear for me if Coinbase provides me a wallet or I have to use an external Bitcoin wallet if I use them? Would appreciate your help.
Be informed that Coinbase is a custodial wallet. They have control of your private keys and funds. In case something bad happens to coinbase like if they go offline or get shutdown, You won't have any private keys or back phrases to use to restore your addresses that have your money in another wallet like electrum. I would advise you that after buying your coins transfer them to addresses created from noncustodial wallets such as electrum (https://electrum.org).

There is a coinbase wallet application which basically is a standard mobile wallet with less functionality.
Be advised that there are 2 coinbase apps
1. One where you can buy bitcoin is custodial - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/coinbase-buy-sell-bitcoin/id886427730
2. The other where you can't buy bitcoins direct is noncustodial - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/coinbase-wallet/id1278383455 so you have to first create an account, back up your seed phrase and then transfer you bitcoins into it from the noncustodial app

I still don't know why someone would keep funds in a web wallet for a long time yet there are other much better wallet options

This was their announcement regarding the closure:

Important news: Rahakott closure (update)
Dear users!

We announced the closure of Rahakott on 15th of June 2020. We remind you that Rahakott wallet will stop functioning on 1st of August 2020 and you will not be able to withdraw your funds afterwards. We have decided to take the following steps:

API will stop functioning on 28th of July 2020
Mixer will be switched off on 28th of July 2020
Withdraw your funds until 30th of July 2020!

Source

I think their voluntary and quick closure was probably fueled by the fact that they also had some sort of mixer service just like what happened to bitblender. Maybe they smelt a rat about being investigated and didn't want to end up like bestmixer.io
