Bitparking Merged Mining pool is having more and more trouble with variance. If the Bitcoin diff keeps going up like this and Bitparking doesn't magically double its hashrate all out of a sudden, and keeps doubling it, the pool will face some very difficult times - meaning people will join larger pools with lower variance, potentially the end of the merged mining game, and oh - ixcoin.

Ghash.io is mining IXC Wink

Well, you discovered IXC secret weapon.
3382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Currently hot alternative currencies ? on: December 06, 2013, 04:18:36 PM
iXcoin ...  check coinmarketcap.com ... only coin that is rock solid even during downturns.

iXcoin is secured by over 2 Peta Hash per second.   None of your alt-coins that you list even comes close!
3383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [IXC] iXcoin Core Development Fundraising on: December 06, 2013, 04:15:51 PM
I have received a little over 4,000 IXC so far for development.

Please donate to help further improve this coin:  xm7RZfDQyiYqFQZ6Q9ZgtSkX9e8uBJ3SLY

I have created the new iXcoin website: www.ixcoin.co

I would be looking for people to contribute articles and translations.

Thanks again!
3384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A legitimately novel idea for a new crypto. (presently presumed broken) on: December 05, 2013, 09:44:38 PM
Very nice!  Very nice indeed.
3385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: December 05, 2013, 05:28:58 PM
It seems the interest in this coin is collapsing again. Cry
Price falling, trading progressively reducing in quantity.

Not to worry.   Volume is extremely low.  I'm watching it, and I don't see any major sellers.

We'll see buyers flood in once the new client is released and the website is completed.

Most all prices are down because of China clamping down on bitcoin a bit.

Except for iXcoin, where the price is up!  See coinmarketcap.com
3386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [IXC] iXcoin Core Development Fundraising on: December 05, 2013, 01:35:08 PM
We are also looking for folks who can translate.

Looking for Chinese, French, Arabic and Spanish.  Both for the site and the client.
3387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin - a new Bitcoin fork on: December 05, 2013, 12:57:12 AM
Just curious, but why does "Thomas Nasakioto" uses "Hiroyuki Sanada" as avatar, what's up with that?

http://s302.photobucket.com/user/hot_daily/media/hiroyuki_sanada.jpg.html

Well Thomas Nasakioto is just an anagram for Satoshi Nakamoto.   Not a real person.
3388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin - a new Bitcoin fork on: December 05, 2013, 12:56:03 AM
Has the qt wallet been updated?

Yes, there is a new wallet in development.
3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Ixcoin - a new Bitcoin fork on: December 05, 2013, 12:54:11 AM

3391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Masses are Coming! The Masses are Coming! DON'T sell. on: December 04, 2013, 08:07:06 PM
The space for Ixcoin is risk investing/speculating.
It is the same when Worldcoind was on the bottom, start to die.
Damn i had 33k, i selled them. But only because i was hit by the megacoin, nancoin, noircoin drop all at the same time
so i thought rewatch my portofolio is a good idea. I wasnt so expierenced at that time.

Look the worth now...

So there is a differnce in Investing and speculating.
From Investor standpoint it is not a good idea to invest.

So again everybody should make their own homework.
I also dont invest in IXcoin because i have better options.

iXcoin is a bit illiquid, so you have to be careful when day trading.  If you want to do that, the more liquid coins like BTC, LTC, NMC etc. is safer.

For long term massive appreciation potential, iXcoin is in a good spot.  You just can't ignore the fact that it already has 2 peta hash per second mining the coin ( as compared to like 200 tera hash for PPC).
3392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any Dead Alt's With No Devs? on: December 04, 2013, 07:31:44 PM
I thought namecoin was "hacked" and is kinda dead. Prove me if I'm wrong.

Namecoin has a market cap of 68 million USD.  How in the world is it supposed to be dead?
3393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING about Nextcoin NXT the new altcoin is this legit? on: December 04, 2013, 07:30:35 PM
For people that don't knowm, since there seems to be a lot of people confused...

This is a descendant of bitcoin. NOT another alt-coin.

1.) The forum and exchange ARE NOT created by the creator of Nxt Coin. BCNext was/is the creator of the coin and is so paranoid with everything that he has Come-From-Beyond post for him whatever he wants, such as the updated client and such which has been constant because its still having some bugs ironed out. The creator of the forum and exchange is just another enthusiastic investor in the coin.

2.) The coin IS NOT "pre-mined". EVERYONE had to pay a fee to get in on the coin, even the creator of the coin. The coins were given from the genesis block in the beginning and is spread out to the rest of the investors as time goes on. The coin STARTS with 1 billion in circulation and transaction fee's from the coin is what is "mined"(forged) and given out.

The way its done is like this. You ask/buy Nxt from the exchange or any holder of Nxt. You load up the client and the program that is needed to start the mining(forging process). With at least 1 Nxt, and after a day of leaving the client open, you can start to mine(forge) coins with the client, although it would take a long time do get anything with just 1 Nxt. There is no need for any ASIC's or requirements of CPU, GPU, etc. all you need is some Nxt to start the mining(forging) process. You can run the thing on a 3 year old netbook(which is what I do) and it mines(forges) the same rate as a high-end desktop, miner, whatever. As long as your computer can handle java, its all good.

Still not explained what is going on in this 'forging' process.  Does it calculate something?  How does the network determine which node gets the coin?

3395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make a good blockchain explorer? on: December 04, 2013, 06:44:49 PM
Curious how to make a blockchain explorer? What required and what's the technique? I know Abe is need, java developer apps and what else?

Abe is written in python.

But all you need is to read in the block chain and fill in the database.  Then render the database on to the UI.

Problem with ABE is that database structure is slow and inefficient.

Just pushed out a new website: www.ixcoin.co

You should really change the top right corner. For the first glimpse it seems like the page was last actualised in 2011 Smiley

done.  thanks
3397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any Dead Alt's With No Devs? on: December 04, 2013, 05:00:09 PM
ixcoin?

I'm in the process of reviving it.

Just pushed out a new website: www.ixcoin.co

I have the latest update 0.8.5.1 version of the client.

Of course, lots of stuff to do, like instawallets, explorers, bitarmory etc.

But extremely promising,  one of the very few coins were you can only profitably acquire by buying them!

i bought a few Smiley

Well, if you want that to grow, you have to start promoting the coin.

I figure, a lot of folks who had this coin completely forgot they have them.   2 years is a very long time.   Also, by the 45,000 block, it was all merge mining.  So you needed competitive BTC mining go get any of these coins.

If you also looked at the historic charts,  the price relative to BTC has remained almost constant!  Hard to believe for something that is 2 years old.

What the coin is missing now is liquidity in the trading markets.  Don't know yet how that happens... I think though if I can get the Chinese interested... then that will be key.

One of the first alt-coins out there.
3400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] New iXcoin Website on: December 04, 2013, 02:39:16 PM
All,

The original www.ixcoin.org site appears to completely gone.

I have taken the liberty to replace it with www.ixcoin.co .

Furthermore,  I have an updated client that I have been testing,  this will be released soon.

Again,  I am seeking donations for development.

So far, I have receive only 1,850 IXC for the hosting of two permanent iXcoin seed nodes.

I will need funds to further improve the website and translating it to key target audiences like Chinese, Arabic, Spanish and French.

The client also will need similar translation to these languages,  however I believe the latest Bitcoin codebase has these translatation.

Please visit the website:  www.ixcoin.co  and please leave me comments for improvements.
