3382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanging BTC > ETH & ETH > BTC on: May 04, 2018, 04:47:56 PM
I'd recommend ShapeShift when converting BTC to ETH and vice versa.
I find it a lot easier than sending coins to an exchange and deciding on a buy/sell price.
ShapeShift is as legit as they come and it's got a friendly UI and the funds are deposited very fast.
If you're not a fan of ShapeShift and want an account on an exchange, I'd go with Gdax.
3383  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people are still buying BTC? on: May 04, 2018, 04:43:34 PM
People are still buying Bitcoin because they know it's price is a lot lower than what it actually has potential to be.
If you've been in this space for some time now, you are more than accustom to the upward and downward spirals associated with crypto investing.
The ones buying are the ones who believe the current price is low and are expecting to see the $20,000 ATH or even more.
3384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to rise? on: May 04, 2018, 04:41:55 PM
Not only do I believe that Bitcoin will rise, but I also think it will rise very fast to it's ATH of around $20k.
There is a lot of speculation about what the actual price will amount to, some experts saying upwards of $100,000 per coin!
While I find that somewhat hard to believe, I really think that we will pass $10,000 shortly and even see $20,000 before the end of the year.
Anyone who claims Bitcoin will be worth $1 million per coin needs a bit of a reality check (although I hope I'm wrong).
3385  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin in developing countries on: May 04, 2018, 04:39:20 PM
Bitcoin in developing countries is a fantastic idea, especially for countries where their local currency is worth next to nothing.
Realistically speaking I think that one day, BTC will be universally recognized as an elite form of currency, something comparable to that of gold but such is one that people can spend for goods and services.
I will go so far as to even say that one day, BTC will replace certain world currencies that's can't keep up or have little value compared against the dollar.

3387  Economy / Economics / Re: Know Your Customer on: May 03, 2018, 07:39:22 PM
There is nothing wrong with the KYC procedure.
If someone is not hiding their identity, they should not worry about having to submit basic proof.
This is a very common practice and you are often told before that you will be KYC, so you have no reason to argue.
Just obey the rules and you have nothing to worry about.
3388  Economy / Economics / Re: The best way to invest on: May 03, 2018, 07:37:24 PM
I just noticed that this thread is almost 8 years old, so hopefully some of the early adopters are still holding on to their coins.
I can only imagine if I had btc back in 2010 what good shape I'd be in  Roll Eyes

Hi Aventhe,

There's no way I'm going to be able to make 30 posts this week, and I do apologize.  Perhaps you can give my spot to someone who can.

Hello Aventhe,

I am interested in taking this spot.
Please let me know if this is ok.

Thank you

3390  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people are still buying BTC? on: May 03, 2018, 01:40:51 PM
Smart people who are still buying BTC are doing so because they feel it is still very undervalued, and I tend to agree.
Since we've already seen the price shoot up to nearly $20k, we're currently at half that.
If anything, the price will go up by the end of the year, not continue to go down.
The correctional phase is beyond us now.
3391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: produced 17 million BTC, when will they get 21 million? on: May 03, 2018, 01:38:58 PM
Here's a nice little explanation to answer your question:   https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5qnw5h/when_will_we_reach_the_21_millions_bitcoin_cap/

It will never hit exactly 21 million unless something bad happens, but the block subsidy is set to deplete at block 6,930,000 which is estimated to occur sometime around the year 2140.

However, the vast majority of coins (99%) will have been mined by around 2032, when the block subsidy drops to less than 1 BTC per block. Roughly 20.67 million coins will exist, leaving less than 1/2 a million to be mined over the next 100 years.

3395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (468-306-6) +9.3127 Bitcoins on: May 03, 2018, 12:56:12 PM
Vegas Golden Knights (-172)
Risking .035 to win .0203

(468-307-6) +9.2777 Bitcoins

Las Vegas blew that game and currently tied @ 2-2 vs. the Sharks, with game #5 on Friday in Las Vegas.   I'll probably be on the Golden Knights.

Tonight's NHL:

Washington Capitals (+137)
.01827 to win .025

Nashville Predators (+131)
Risking .01911 to win .025

Tonight's NBA:
Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics  UNDER 207 (-114)
Risking .02277 to win .02

May add some more later, please let me know what you think and any feedback!

3397  Economy / Speculation / Re: $50,000 Bitcoin In The Next Couple Of Months? on: April 28, 2018, 06:30:30 PM
Sounds like a very attractive number but also a very unlikely number.
Not to be a "glass is half empty" type of person, but you're talking about a 5x increase in value.
While it may certainly happen (and hopefully does) I don't see the price of BTC passing 20k in the next few months, let alone 50k.
3398  Economy / Services / Re: Get BTC ($20) for simple signup on: April 28, 2018, 06:25:00 PM
Some of you people really crack me up.
I really hate to rain on everyone's parade, but has anyone actually received the free $20 in BTC?
It just doesn't seem beneficial for OP to pay $20 in BTC per person who registers.
Seen too many scams start out this way.
3399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (465-306-6) +9.2727 Bitcoins on: April 28, 2018, 06:22:02 PM
Boston Bruins (-164)
Risking .0164 to win .01

Toronto Raptors ML (-317)
Risking .03317 to win .01

Utah Jazz vs. Oklahoma City Thunder  UNDER 208 (-111)
Risking .0222 to win .02

(468-306-6) +9.3127 Bitcoins

Nice 3-0 day on Wednesday for +.04 BTC

Bruins handled business in game 7 as I predicted they would.  Tough game today as they begin their series @ Tampa Bay.  Going to lay off that game, but I do like:

Vegas Golden Knights (-172)
Risking .035 to win .0203

After destroying the Sharks 7-0 on Thursday, I don't see much difference tonight.
May add some more later, may not.
3400  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good buying price for bitcoin? on: April 25, 2018, 07:43:43 AM
My opinion is that if you can buy BTC for a price that is lower than the BTC ATH, it's a good investment.
I think most people feel that we will all see a $20k coin again, the only hold back is when!
