3382  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cash out fees on: February 09, 2021, 03:28:03 PM
Hey mate, we don't actually know your country of residence so it's impossible to decide on the exact percentage you will pay for a transaction of $2000.

Quote
So as to my original question, let's just make it ballpark. For $2000 in bitcoin, through any coinbase-like broker, if I wanted to cash out to bank would the total fees be
Let's assume you are a US citizen since you need a specific answer, let's use the percentage gotten from TryNinja to be 1.49%, you will pay a transaction fee of $29.8 for $2000, as simple as that, not a puzzle.
Why not try using SEPA since it's free/€0.15% it will save you some money.
3383  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What online bank are compatible with coinbase? How to get your USD w/o a bank on: February 09, 2021, 02:52:36 PM
Have you ever think to use Bisq?
It's a decentralized exchange with no authority over your funds. You just need to install the software, add your bank account numbers, deposit your bitcoins and start trading with people.
I have a thought on this mate, recently, Nigerian were stopped from using their bank(cards) in connecting with cryptocurrency transactions, however, their major means of purchasing bitcoin is through centralised exchange mechanism like Luno, Binance, remitano which all stopped operations with NGN cards transactions. Can bisq be used instead since they are decentralized platform with no authority over customers fund.

I will do some research either to check if Nigerians are eligible to connect with their bank account details.
3384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantages of Bitcoin on: February 09, 2021, 02:36:42 PM
The only difference was criminals can easily buy illegal stuff using Bitcoin without proof of linking the seller to buyer or in simple terms "no string attached" while on the other hand, Surely Fiat can be used too on transaction of illegal stuff but authority can easily connect the seller to the buyer in case the seller got busted.
I may not fully agree with you on this, in cryptocurrency illegal and fraud transactions, fraudster's address can be tracked, this happened in the case of a scammer that impersonated crypto influencer on Twitter where the receiving address was tracked to have come from coinbase exchange, immediately the address was blocked from receiving bitcoin, in that case, if the scammer must have passed KYC, coinbase won't give out his details for no reason. However, in the case of Fiat transactions, I don't think the authority can give out the scammer details, do you think?
3385  Economy / Gambling / Re: WILDTORNADO.CASINO | 1 BTC Welcome Bonus | Instant Withdrawals | 3k+ Slots on: February 09, 2021, 01:34:47 PM
But yeah it is their right to decide when to start and when to stop the campaign.
Undergoing a campaign promotion for one week can't let a gambling platform gets what they are looking for anyway, at the time wildtornado campaign was launched there came so many competitive campaigns where accepted member moved to other ones. The decision to pause the campaign now is a good one also.
I would have suggested to relaunch the campaign again when freebitco and AAX will come to an end for full promotion round all corners of the forum, what's your take on this?
3386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the way forward now. on: February 09, 2021, 01:12:12 PM
There is no other means of crediting your cryptocurrency accounts from your Nigeria bank cards, all centralised platform had put an end to that towards NGN pairs. Now every Nigerian crypto lovers had choosing p2p platforms which we all know for their transactions.

I am very angry at the behavior of the Nigerian government.
Hi, Nigerian government look what the Bitcoin community has done in your country, how many Nigerians have been helped.
This is as a result of andsars case in the Nigerian court, the government discovered that funds were supported by the Nigerian youths through cryptocurrency, so banning cryptocurrency was the only way they could stop this funding process, also before the crypto ban announcement, the government banned all accounts that sent out transactions to the receiving account.

They are just acting been smart to win the case in the court not knowing they are damaging the image of the country all around the world and had caused a big wound among crypto users.

3388  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ban on cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria, a good or bad move? on: February 07, 2021, 11:33:20 PM
They strike fear to their citizen to not engage in decentralize currency, to "AVOID" any circumstances that may lead to major troubles.

By making the citizen believe that this is illegal, and "BAD", these people will avoid and be implanted to the old ideologies of the rule makers, thus disturbs the advancement of the society. Despite this illegality, there will be still people who will become more curious on how does crypto works, and why they do so ban this. That will result to people who will definitely just use backdoors to have access to crypto.
IMO, the Nigerian government get feared because the usage of bank was suddenly fading away, they felt threatened because they were no longer getting the small charges that comes in bulk making them filthy rich.
All of these made them take that decision because they never wanted the bank to be affected as postal office was by emails, that's why I always warn and made it clear that in the future, cryptocurrency will do to banks what email did to postal offices. I strongly believed that the ban will be legalized back in the meantime.
3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MEW is safe? on: February 07, 2021, 10:31:35 PM
Yes, and No.
MEW had been the the safest for saving low amount of coin as long as you keep your keys in a safe place, back then, MEW offers two ways of accessing your account, keystore files, private key which you must actually keep offline. Also, there are phishing links that impersonate MEW and you must be careful when entering the site, airdrop that promise to pay participants uses that to steal users private key by telling them to sign a message with ok before they claim the token.

Also, MEW is a web wallet which sometimes would be vulnerable to attack easily, since hardware wallet is more expensive to purchase, I would suggest to you having a good software wallet like the trust wallet, where you can save higher amount of money. Choose your choice.
3390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC back to All time high ..did you buy ? on: February 07, 2021, 10:07:47 PM
Many were /are convinced they knew where it was heading .
How about you ?   DID YOU BUY, SELL, OR HOLD ?
And now what are your plans ?
Haven't you think of hodling bitcoin for a very long time while you keep smiling at the new profit you get all day? Haven't you though of buying more bitcoin when you have more fiat? Haven't you though of all these?
Actually, Bitcoin is already the king of cryptocurrencies because of it's first mover advantage over other ones, therefore it's advise not to short your bitcoin while holding your coin for a very long time.
3391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about DASH coin? Could see the ATH Again? on: February 07, 2021, 08:17:03 PM
I just looked at the chart and noticed that the old pump happened from 27-01 at $94.30 where it is now at $116.41 the dash retracement is not yet over while it may last for about 4-5 days. Possibly the new pump will happen shortly because it has some good trading volumes. Also looking at the official Twitter page of Dash, there's no recent news that will skyrock the price at any given time, just a few days ago dash was listed on liquid exchange.

3392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: February 07, 2021, 07:54:31 PM
This is very sad to say that some user bad use of coller membership and launching scam coin.
One should check these coins, their project, their total supply and their partnership before investing in it.
Scamming activities can not be stopped so long as their are newbies in the crypto space, in as much as people want instant money and are not eager to learn, they are prolly to be scammed in one way or the other, research have shown that newbies that refuse to make research before investing in a project is liable to be scammed, so on that note, the scamming activities in the crypto ecosystem can't be ended.
3393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 07, 2021, 07:19:30 PM
I always felt that Liverpool would retain their championship, but after losing to Burnley And Brighton, and now Manchester city I think its a wrap, and Manchester city will win the league,
It was a bad day for Liverpool, although their plan didn't work out for them., Man city is not a big deal for Liverpool to loose to, however City is on the brinsk of winning the title with still one outstanding match to play, therefore there will be a competitive battle between Liverpool and Liecester city for dragging the third position.

3396  Other / Meta / Re: Request for Nigeria local board on: February 07, 2021, 03:01:15 PM
In addition to what Charles_Tim had aired out, Nigerians are one of the most active users in the bitcointailk forum that had contributed positively for her development, in the recent time, we have about 500+ active members if I'm not mistaken and we keep having new members that comes in on a regular basis and more to be coming.

I came across similar thread long time ago by a user requesting same for Nigerian local board, I came to realize that Nigerians infact African as a whole weren't active enough to form a community at that time, now we have accumulated up to 520 replies and 11722 views with up to 27 pages in our community hangout discussing crypto related topics in our understood pidgin language at the moment.

My explanations above might not be convincing enough but it shows some slight improvement more than before, It's high time we get what we are requesting for.

Edit:
Here are some active Nigerian members in the forum. [members upward]

3397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miami To Start Paying Salaries In Bitcoin Soon on: February 07, 2021, 10:13:36 AM
How about the volatility of it? Bitcoin is very volatile, this month's salary could be bigger or smaller in bitcoin value next month. Will the company shoulder all the fees when sending the salary for all their employees?
For a multinational company, this is not a problem for them, before embarking on this salary basis, they know how much they might have been generated and how much Bitcoin purchased and stored for future payments, to me it's likely be an advantage to the employee because they might have purchased bulk of bitcoin before payday, gradual purchase of Bitcoin generates more income even before disbursement.

the issue should be resolved within few hours, please note that if simplex rejected your transaction because of your card, it might be strongly possible that your card's issued country is not supported by simplex (our credit card processor)
Thanks alot nakitcoin for the great reply, I noticed the problem was from my end while the card had some issue from local bank, it's taking some time for the issue to be resolved by the customer care services.

Also I search for referral link in your web site I couldn't find it, do you have any plan to include that in the future,? I have some friends that need to trade in your website, if there's no referral link, there's is problem either.
3399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Elon Musk shill for DOGE on: February 06, 2021, 10:36:15 PM
The guy is probably just trolling. He enjoys weird things make weird jokes and so on. But despite that tho, I am still one of his biggest fans. Because behind those weird jokes and personality he shows, is an amazingly brilliant and innovative mind. But yeah, back to topic, it may only be just tweeting for fun and others took it seriously which is why the price of dogecoin increased that much.
I don't think this is a joke things, he might have been paid to do this, I know he is filthy rich but this act is something outrageous, I can possibly say that the first one he did on bitcoin could let him know he is already a crypto influencer and celebrity which his reaction to anything related to cryptocurrency will affect the market one way or the other, that reputation alone should let him behave mature and stop manipulating the market.

Additionally, if he keeps on repeating this act, he might be a tool where whales pay to manipulate market for their own favour by simply buying low and contact him to pump by signifying some little interest, who knows..
3400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins are more friendly with Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2021, 10:23:52 PM
LTC, Ethereum, BCH, or other altcoins; which ones will be used in combination with Bitcoin in the digital future ahead of us?
Haven't you considered coins that are used to shop in a mall? have you thought about such coins before, is Bitcoin and ethereum among those coins? If yes, these are the coins to be used in the future and beyond.

In other words, many rivals coins are erupting within the crypto space, Dot threatening ethereum as Neo and EOS did in the past, so what's next after bitcoin is ethereum which is the next future coin after bitcoin rather friendly as you call it.
