Yup

Sure, it's still only beta (or alpha), but since new ppl will use it, i think it's one of the reason that are slowing down bitcoin adoption. Ok, there are other clients, but they famous, unless one find them on the forum

But i have to admit that the QR code and sign message thing of the latest version is pretty nice.

The bitcoin client epic fail interface in my opinion is happily helping keeping users away from it. Add to that the management of the wallet (management? there is NO management) and of the blockchain (yeah sure -datadir) and you have the answer.

I'm ready to boycott nvidia even more

I too recommend p2pool
3390  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [320GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 17, 2012, 07:17:52 PM
Are there known problems with the current p2pool build and the 0.6 RC4 build of the client? I got no share for quite some time, can be bad luck or an undiscovered problem.
I'll let it mine for some time and will report back ...

Dia
I have 0.6 RC4 and i find shares so it work fine

Scammers and hoppers are much more annoying.

Selling them for bitcoin for example?
3395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Capital Gains Tax on: March 17, 2012, 03:23:39 PM
I can exchange EVE Online isk for bitcoin, but this doesn't mean i have to report my isk as income. Same for wow gold and whatelse.

You can't compare ati and nvidia SP, they are different

Also i suppose kepler SP will be different from older nvidia cards. So again, comparing 570 with kepler seems pointless to me.
3397  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: SCAM - Bitcash.cz - Stole my coins - Don't join! on: March 17, 2012, 01:34:52 PM
Well to name just 2 recent issues:

A1pool - dissapearing with coins
bitclockers - fudging stats and organofcorti showing relatively accurately that overall outcome is minus for all miners.

If A1pool disappeared with coins, that would be a scam.

I don't know how bitclockers even outright lying about stats can be thrown into the same category when asked "What other mining pools are stealing coins from users?".

Just say what's on your mind.

"There is no better mining pool than p2ppool and anyone wasting their time on anything else is an idiot".

Matthew you have some real issues, just had to make note of that.

No this thread isnt about p2pool, in fact I think p2pool is shit Smiley

You obviously doesn't know/understand anything about P2Pool.
most hoppers already know about p2pool.

it's shit, in terms of income.

now, back to topic.
i guess the poolop kinda listens to the complaints of smaller miners there, and just banned most of the hoppers to set an example (?).

but withholding that much btc from the hoppers, well, we'll see how much longer they're gonna do that.
You know, p2pool is an anti-hop pool. So yes, using p2pool for hopping is a bad idea.
Another advantage of p2pool  Wink

I suppose bitcoin is taxed only if you sell it for dollars. Otherwise it's just a virtual thing.

Or now they will tax also my EVE Online ISK? After all i could sell them for bitcoins...
3399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: URGENT: Windows Bitcoin-Qt update on: March 17, 2012, 12:59:28 PM

I wonder what happens now with older wallets...

So it sounds like they're going the many stream processors route too huh?

Again AFAIK this is supposed to be the mid-range card, right?

Yes. That is what it seems like.

I REALLY am hoping they come out with the 4608 shader monster.

Screw 7990. If I can boycott AMD for their crap drivers I will do it.

Really praying here that Nvidia is a decent miner !
Yeah i suppose nvidia drivers that make the card overheat and die are better...  Roll Eyes
