3381  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for signature campaign 👀 on: June 21, 2022, 02:19:12 PM
The link you have give there's only one campaign which has slot for member but that's a shit scam project  Cry. Right now I waiting for a campaign like gamdom  which is managed by Yahoo Cry

Maybe you go on posting useful / helpful stuff even without getting paid for it. This could earn you a good status, this could help you rank up, this could get you easier into future campaigns.
Also DYOR, there are many other good campaign managers, you cannot realistically expect all (or most) campaigns get managed only by yahoo62278
3382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: June 21, 2022, 01:06:05 PM
Didn't see that one coming with Perez having gearbox issues just 8 laps into the race this past weekend in Canada.

It may be related to his crash in qualifying. The car did get quite a hit then.

With one of the Red bulls not finishing that means the heat is on with the Team Mercedes getting a podium win and Russell coming in fourth ahead of Leclerc.
I can see both of the British drivers making moves coming closer to the top of the leaderboard in the next race for the first July weekend in Silverstone.

With the reliability issues the Ferrari engines are facing lately this is very much possible.
I am a bit disappointed that Sainz is not trying at all make the life difficult to his opponents. But I am not sure whether it's lack of skill or he's trying to spare his car to actually end the race(s).
3383  Economy / Economics / Re: Micheal Salyor decalogue for a 10x Bitcoin Appreciation on: June 21, 2022, 12:58:43 PM
These problems are not new (PS. Are you sure he said UST and not USDT?), just most don't speak up - I guess that they prefer to see Bitcoin market in a "wild wild west" status. Actually he was rather silent too until he has filled his "pockets" with bitcoin  Cheesy
However, he's right. And the more big names speak up, the more chance we'll get there too... eventually.
3384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any way to run a server providing any address balance and using pruned node? on: June 21, 2022, 12:40:20 PM
Pruned node and "any address' balance" don't go together. But if you only have a clear fixed list of addresses you may have a chance.

If the addresses are few, EPS may do.
On EPS readme I've also found out about BWT, which may also be useful for you. I've never used it though.

I'll add that I've had some small experience with EPS and I've found it unpleasant to set it up.
3385  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitlucy withdrawal problem, does this acceptable? on: June 21, 2022, 12:20:22 PM
Probably it's a different user that I didn't notice.

It's the one who has "already removed the avatar by now".
But I know that he had issues with his web services, hence the fact he has noticed late is imho excusable.

But the reality shows that you've done good PM-ing them. Hence my merit.
3386  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitlucy withdrawal problem, does this acceptable? on: June 21, 2022, 10:41:53 AM
I wonder why there's 2 users still wear the Bitlucy avatar until now

Most probably they're not active, hence your PM won't do much. Did you check their last login date? It's in their profile.
Also keep in mind that browser caching makes avatars last a little longer even after they're changed.

I had the same question about one highly reputed member today, but I didn't PM him. Some 30 min later I've seen that his avatar is changed.

So while you do have a point, you may be a bit overzealous about it Wink

Bafta maxima!
3388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Reliable Halving Countdown? on: June 21, 2022, 08:57:39 AM
Who do you think is going to be the most accurate in terms of predicting halving date?  Roll Eyes

My crystal ball is broken, so you have to ask those who can travel to the future.
Now seriously, since the blocks don't come at exactly 10 minutes, not even on average (else the difficulty should not need adjustments every ~2 weeks), on what basis could anybody make an accurate prediction?!

Normally the hash rate goes up slowly, hence if one sets that prediction to a little under 10 min * remaining blocks he should be fine.
But in reality unpredictable things like we had in the past (accidents in coal mines, need to relocate big mining farms, ...) can happen rendering all the predictions incorrect.

What I would do with such a website? I would keep it simple: calculate some 9m58s per remaining block and adjust that every .. let's say 100 blocks (of course, I could do it also at every new block). Is that accurate? No. Is that wrong? Hardly.
3389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Taking Loans - Is it ideal? on: June 21, 2022, 08:23:03 AM
Before you apply for a loan make sure to consider this first.

Your list misses a point 6: human psychology. Imho if one has been using loaned money to buy bitcoin, he will be more likely to panic sell when the price goes down heavily.
I think that this is one important factor against getting a loan for investing into bitcoin, no matter how good the answers to the (other) 5 points look like.
3390  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Halving Multiple - (Research) on: June 21, 2022, 08:15:56 AM
Thanks for the continued critiquing NeuroticFish!

I think that you're the first thanking me for criticizing  Cheesy

I've looked now into the pdf. It looks much better (I am not great with the terms, but I think that Bitcoin is not deflationary yet, since the number of coins in circulation is still increasing.) However, you're on the right track.
3391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin monetary policy on: June 21, 2022, 07:26:11 AM
What would you do if you could influence the monetary policy of bitcoin?

1. Since I know that Bitcoin's "monetary policy" cannot be influenced like that, the answer is irrelevant.
2. I will add that since Bitcoin is not a company or government, nor a stable coin, it doesn't have and it doesn't care about "monetary policy"
3. Even fiat currencies are not stable, so the "steady price" is some fairy tale situation.
4. Less wild fluctuations of the price are supposed to be seen as a sign of maturity and are supposed to happen in the not so far future. It's not "steady price", but still.
5. Like in Forex, seasoned traders will be able to squeeze profits even from small fluctuations of the price, also some will lose money even there. Your logic looks flawed.
3392  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Multisig with Time Lock? on: June 21, 2022, 07:11:39 AM
Instead of utilizing complex multisig, just create a Bitcoin Core wallet (so that there is no seed phrase) with complex password.

Get a device that you almost never use but still works normally and put the password in a text file or note. Now lock up the device somewhere in a closet and don't forget where the key is.

Has the same effect as making a 10-meter hole in your room but is more practical.

This is what I was doing except I stored the private key by writing it down because I thought storing it digitally could cause problems especially in 8 years time.

Although if OP manages to hold for 4 years he will have no longer issues holding for 4 more, I also agree that storing digitally is screaming for troubles.

I would store the seed. I would put it into an envelope, surrounded by some black or at least thick paper so you cannot see through. And laminate all that so you are not tempted to take a look too often.
Also I'd do this at least twice to have a backup (that I store somewhere else) in case my house burns down.

Since you want to see your precioussss money is still in place, keeping an xpub or the relevant addresses at hand should be good, then you can take a look now and then in Electrum or a block explorer that you're still fine.
3393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Age of bitcoiners on: June 21, 2022, 06:58:51 AM
There may be that those who are Bitcoiners for 6-8 years no longer hang out here, instead they have their own business already.
So the poll made today here may not be so much relevant, not alone.

Also many people who have bitcoin may not even know that this forum exist, especially older generations who don't do everything on the internet.
3394  Economy / Gambling / Re: This is madness. Something super more than DeepSum on: June 21, 2022, 05:10:11 AM
Just look at this screenshot and you know what I mean.

It looks to me that you've made an application based on some assumptions and you show that your application does follow your assumptions (and can print nice numbers too).
The problem is that I really think that your assumptions are not correct.

As said, if you want to monetize this application you're doing it wrong.
1. If the application is that good, why don't you gamble yourself with it and earn money?
2. Why you don't find some reputed members willing to test your app with their own money and review it? (And to make it clear: no, I don't want your app).

3396  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S Plus on: June 20, 2022, 06:02:18 PM
Ledger Life has indicated that firmware of the device  is outdated but it doesn't allow me to upgrade it. Why?

It must be a bug. I understand you use LL from mobile. I've never tried this from mobile, maybe you can install LL to PC and try from there?
What version of firmware you have now?

More of that, it said that 2.43.1 version is available but the latest release  on   the official github is 2.42.0. Why?

2.43.1 is the version of LL, not of the firmware. Your S+ firmware should be 1.0.3, I think.

But about version differences, I've seen that in many occasions for coin apps, don't be too worried about it. The git releases tend to be a little step farther than what published on LL. Why? There can be many reasons, I don't want to guess. You can ask for official info from their support (and that may or may not be the real cause, you know..)

3399  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Facebook free speech is dead it's time we move to non US social networks on: June 20, 2022, 05:40:27 PM
There's something people don't understand: you write on their platform. Since it's their platform, they make the rules. In US, you may hear about issues with the freedom of speech. In other countries the "bad" posts are simply removed with no fuss. On their platform, we are just the herd that make them money.

Do you want your posts stay under your control? Keep your computer online 24/7 and self-host a blog or whatever. Then it goes by your rules. Nowadays it should not even be that difficult.
Ah, your posts are not seen by so much people? You have to SEO/advertise it? You have to fight your way against rich platforms? Well, life is not supposed to be easy.
3400  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Manipulation? on: June 20, 2022, 03:39:06 PM
In my experience I had the feeling I see that on HitBTC, long ago, but that's all.
And I don't think that you can make a list with worse offenders because I am almost sure that the worse offenders were never caught.

However, I'd add Mt.Gox too to the list for price manipulation, if you make one.
