3381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfunding for Satoshi to reveal himself on: January 15, 2013, 07:12:13 PM
It would add that address and its encrypted (with Satoshi's PGP public key) private key to a public list that only Satoshi could make use of.
And how could we tell, that it is indeed the private key to that address that's encrypted with Satoshis PGP?
The creator of such address could just keep the priv.key to himself, PGP-encrypt some junk message and tell us anything we are stupid enough to believe.

To get rid of your coins you can just as easily send them to me.  Grin
3382  Economy / Economics / Re: The situation around the time of the MtGox carsh on: January 13, 2013, 10:55:06 PM
I was around, I wasn't worried about anything, I didn't sell so I haven't lost anything.
It was a bubble, meant to burst.

For instance if BFL should reveal itself as a scam, that could scare som potential new adopters, but I think this will reverse itself in a matter of months.
That might be true for potential new miners,
but why would potential new adopters care (or be scared) about a company selling mining-hardware or not?
If I think about using bitcoin or not, I don't really care about what hardware miners use, or what company fills miners needs, or just scams them. All I care about is if the system works and suits my needs.
3383  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how to send btc using electrum on: January 12, 2013, 01:06:35 AM
Transaction priority is calculated as a value-weighted sum of input age, divided by transaction size in bytes
Fees are a matter of transaction-size and coin-age.

If you received those coins you want to send two weeks (or more) ago and still get that error-message when trying to send them without a fee, i guess you only received fractions of a coin (milli-bitcoins, mBTC).
So when you try to send 0.1BTC now, you need lots of input-transactions to get your output, which blows up your transaction-size.

Add a fee and try again, or wait even longer, you might be able to send them without a fee someday.
Your choice.  Wink

Maybe,...just maybe it helps to switch to another electrum-server, i wouldn't count on it though.

3384  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how to send btc using electrum on: January 12, 2013, 12:31:38 AM
Add a small fee (0.0005 - 0.001),
or wait a few days for your coins "to age".
3385  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-01-11 telecoms.com - Chinese whispers on: January 12, 2013, 12:26:20 AM
Yeah, but what if the coins are stored on gambling servers?
Bad management i guess.

A hammer is a great tool, but you can't blame it if you hit your thumb.  Wink

1+1=2
Why should i bother what genius came to that conclusion first?
He/she was right and we all know that, that's all that matters.
3387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Virwex on: January 11, 2013, 11:29:24 PM
Virwex is to Virwox as Thymex is to Timex?
It's more like:
Virwex is to VirWox as MtGix is to MtGox  Wink

Probably the same guy running both scams.
3388  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Virwex on: January 11, 2013, 08:26:43 PM
It's a scamming site,
use it and your money is gone for good.  Wink
3389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help me , Did i lose my bitcoins? on: January 10, 2013, 10:47:56 PM
In the meantime you can check
http://blockchain.info/address/<your-bitcoinaddress-here>
to see if those bitcoins you bought actually arrived at your address or not.
3390  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Re: Deutsche SIM Karte on: January 10, 2013, 01:38:16 PM
Wieviel Data brauchst Du denn?

3391  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having problems still with solo mining in GUIMiner on: January 10, 2013, 11:52:59 AM
Calm down.
Seems you yourself are one of those people, that don't read, otherwise you should have seen this
..except you don't expect do get anything back/count your hashing-power as donation to the network.

I never said you shouldn't do it, just that you shouldn't expect to get any bitcoins doing it (ever, not only overnight).
3392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having problems still with solo mining in GUIMiner on: January 10, 2013, 10:58:44 AM
.. in the newer version you have to use the "launch Bitcoin client as server" option ..
Not only in the newer version, you always had to run the client as server when solo-mining (or to use JSON-RPC).

.. I've left the client on overnight and so far I have generated no bitcoins at all ..

Well, you probably won't generate any bitcoins ever.
Let's face it,
your 6970 might run at 400MH/s,
at current difficulty it would take about 400Days on average to solve a block,
so even if you're lucky you might not get anything for about 1year, not to mention that within that year the difficulty will probably rise.

That's the reason why pools exist, most miners just don't have enough hashing-power to mine on their own and get anything at all.

GUIMiner is reading I'm generating around 300khash/s even though I have a 6970 Sad
Are you sure GUIminer is actually using your 6970 and not only your CPU?

Anyway, as stated above it's not really worth solo-mining on a single 6970, not even on 2, 3, or 5 of them, except you don't expect do get anything back/count your hashing-power as donation to the network.
3393  Local / Biete / Re: Biete galaxy s2 on: January 09, 2013, 05:26:00 AM
ganz unverbindlich vielleicht 10BTC.
3394  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping mall (Translators wanted) on: January 09, 2013, 05:11:33 AM
well, it might have been "sold" to some china company, just to walk around german imprint laws and the likes,
still TOSAKI is the man maintaining it, so the main guy is still running the baby although a china company officially runs it now.
It's NOT the same guy, that's the point.
The person using the name "tosaki" on this forum isn't the same person it was some months ago.
He talked german very well before, but needs google-translate now to even understand anything german.
So i hardly doubt that the main guy is still running it and is just hosting somewhere else.

He (the new guy) even admits that the sale happened a couple of months ago, yet he wasn't even able to take a minute or two to tell anyone about it.

The funny part is, that just after we found out about the secret sale and even more strange, right after switching to a new server, he (the new guy) decides to shut bitmit down for good because of personal reasons.
3395  Local / Biete / Re: Biete galaxy s2 on: January 08, 2013, 05:24:44 PM
3396  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Aufruf zur Steuerhinterziehung on: January 08, 2013, 02:27:29 AM

3397  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pps highest on: January 07, 2013, 11:57:00 AM
You didn't mention that you were only talking about your tests on big poolsWink
And the pressure-on-unlucky-round-argument would only matter, if you switch pools right after such an unlucky long run (which wouldn't make much sense for you), if you just stay on the same pool it really doesn't matter, a lucky round will come and everything is fine again.

Anyway, i'm not saying one should use this, or that pool,
feel free to use whatever pool you like for whatever reason.
3398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pps highest on: January 07, 2013, 10:46:36 AM
The highest PPS and stable atm is 50btc.
Sorry to say, but that's not true.
Bitparking has a lower fee plus you get some alt-coins from merged mining with them.
3399  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: BTC verkaufen Steuerrechtliche Grundlage? on: January 06, 2013, 03:22:26 PM

3400  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: BTC verkaufen Steuerrechtliche Grundlage? on: January 06, 2013, 02:37:48 PM
