3383  Economy / Lending / Re: 8 BTC Loan/Investment for automatic escrow website on: May 07, 2013, 07:07:51 PM
50% return off your website for life for a loan? Sorry but the word's "to good to be true" ring on this one pretty hard, can't say that's worth the risk.

well yes but it's true as i don't need any money, all money will go directly to gweedo or JohnK (I assume gweedo will accept escrow) and i am giving 50% profit from my site to you because i am new here, and  i need someone who can run it with me.

As far as i understand this he offers to pay the principal of 8btc after 1 month AND 50% of his site as interest.
As long as the lender pays gweedo directly and gweedo returns the code only to the lender then the lender has the code as collateral in the end.

Yes and yeah you can save script if you are worried about your 8 BTC.
3384  Economy / Lending / Re: 8 BTC Loan/Investment for automatic escrow website on: May 07, 2013, 07:04:22 PM
If you don't have 8btc now, what makes you think you will have it in a month?

I have Bitcoins and money in LR, but i can't invest right now, as it's the only money i have.

My bank account got robbed by my girlfriend.  Cry
3385  Local / Mining (India) / Re: which GPU is best to BTC mine in india on: May 07, 2013, 06:59:59 PM

That is very very cool indeed.

The 7970 is around INR 40K

Are you kidding me..? Its 450 USD here..? and yet i feel i can get back the investment.!
Its almost double.!

Yep, thats the difficulty for us in India. Double what it is back there Sad

it is so unfair, drive me mad always. Even second hand Bentley cost in India 2 cr, while same car officially certified by Bentley in UK can be owned around GBP 50K

Too many palms to grease on the way to the consumer.

We also need to realize the massive customs cost that they will apply when the Rig reaches.

do you mean B-F-L's SC, my will be by invoice usd 1300, so not much tax if shipped by Fedex. I already upgraded shipment form Standard to Express. They sent me letter and explain, that at the moment, when I ordered, there were no such shipping option as express. Also, I think weight is increased, so when they calculated what shipment will cost, they realized there is no other way as to ask for upgrades.

If you want to buy something costly, tell them to remove price on box and send invoice later.
Or get it shipped on someone else's house (let's say USA) and tell him to repack it and send them to you.

Also if you are buying 10 things from different peoples/sites and want to avoid massive shipping cost, use site like
http://www.myus.com

Well dude let me guess, you made up everything in your imagination and saw it getting successful but in reality you didn't done good planning i doubt it will even get successful without hardwork (yours, not others).

If you wanted to make your own coin, you should have done planning first about coins feature, name and other things, then bought domain etc and then contacted some developers here or on other sites via PM or posted your rough idea here about your future coin and asked for peoples opinion/feedback and who's interested in it and who's not.

If you will post " FACEBOOK 2.0 COMING SOON" and write "I need someone who can code it and it will be next big thing" People will call you fool.

3387  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Indian Bitcoin Miners on: May 07, 2013, 05:40:29 PM
there is actually huge potential for CPU mining in India. why not create sort of legal botnet. people will download and run a bot, bot will mine and people get paid let say 30-40%  In India people real good in counting money even if some one will get 200-300 Rupees in few months he will run that bot on his comp. make the bot open source and let any one to run proxy nodes.

let say one CPU will give 50mgh  x 1000000 = 50TH/s   usd 8 mil per month with current difficulty

I thought that idea too but i doubt normal indian pc's will even give that much hash and after some time (ASIC) difficulty will go more high.
3388  Economy / Goods / Re: 200-250 BTC for borrowing your Avalon on: May 07, 2013, 12:34:56 PM
Can anyone tell me how much bitcoins you can mine with avalon if you run it 24x7 for 3months (90 days)

It's all extremely variable but you could play with this to get an idea:

http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

As of now, you're looking at ~3.2BTC a day for one avalon.

3.2BTC x 90(days) = 288BTC - of course this is a very WRONG estimate, but you get the idea.

OP's offer is pretty good then.

3390  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My bitcoins have been stolen on: May 07, 2013, 12:09:48 PM
I have no idea the many different ways to transfer BTC from wallet to wallet.

I kept asking him how we were going to do this.  I thought he would just bring over his Laptop or something and transfer me the coins.

But he never answered.  Just came over and got this USB stick.  Said he can use that to transfer me coins.

I was like "oh cool"  --  I didn't suspect any foul play.

Then 103 minutes later my coins are gone.

Well probably he did that with bad intentions and thought to return card after getting caught otherwise if was in his place and didn't done this and also got my own bitcoins stolen i will contact you first because i plugged my usb in your pc.

But he didn't contacted you.

You are lucky that you didn't had your own bitcoins in wallet.
3391  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Saving Bitcoin to USB for security purposes. on: May 07, 2013, 11:38:47 AM
I think Electrum is the best client for newbies - http://electrum.org/

It generates a secret phrase for your wallet that lets you restore the full wallet at anytime.  You can just write it down on a piece of paper, or put it in a text file on a USB stick if you like.

My understanding is that with other clients you have to backup the wallet often if it is in use for transactions.  Otherwise the old backup will not contain the addresses used for sending you change.

If someone got that seed or phrase he can recover your wallet easily.

Also OP read it
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=197275.0

Wallet.dat got stolen from PC,it can get stolen from usb too, if you plug it in some infected pc.
Better use linux and your USB drive method.
3392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My bitcoins have been stolen on: May 07, 2013, 11:38:16 AM
Was the OP's wallet encrypted?

Probably not and OP let him use his PC.

@OP how did he sent you bitcoins from your pc

Your Bitcoin client?
3393  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My bitcoins have been stolen on: May 07, 2013, 10:50:59 AM

Guess I will be reinstalling Windows right now ...

Don't do that, First try to find what is on your pc, usually bitcoin stealers send wallet to FTP etc
check running files, do virus scan if you find some random .exe file running find location of that file and zip it then you can contact me for analysis.

otherwise you will never knew who stole it.
3394  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Saving Bitcoin to USB for security purposes. on: May 07, 2013, 10:40:52 AM
This still leaves your coins vulnerable because if someone gets access to your phone, they can steal them. I'm talking someone hacks their way into your phone in some manner. Not physically grabbing it from your hands.

Your idea may work if your phone didn't have service and when you wanted to transfer your coins you would turn on the service and transfer the coins.

I'm looking for 100% way to pull my bitcoins from internet/computer and put them onto a USB drive so only way to get access to them is to have the USB drive.

Well no one can access your phone unless you install some rougue app, for more security you can turn off that phone when you are not using it.

Your method is good but what if you need to spend bitcoins, that time you need to plug it in some pc and copy your wallet there.

I don't know why you want to do that but If you are worried about viruses/trojans etc use linux.

Ps: Your method is ok, but make sure to take a backup because incase it gets damaged or lost or something bad happens, you will loose your all bitcoins.
3395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Saving Bitcoin to USB for security purposes. on: May 07, 2013, 10:13:04 AM
Is this too simple? What am I missing here?
Why cant you just send your bitcoins to your wallet on your computer. Backup the wallet.dat to a usb stick. Close the bitcoin wallet. Delete the wallet.dat from your computer. Restart bitcoin wallet so it creates a new fresh wallet with no bitcoins. Unplug USB containing your bitcoins.

Doesn't this make your bitcoins completely inaccessible to everyone except the person holding the usb drive?

Or Buy a cheap android phone, Install only 1 app (Bitcoin) and send all your bitcoins there. Use it to send and receive bitcoins.
Take a backup in memory card also.
3396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitBar a scam? on: May 07, 2013, 09:54:18 AM

This comment is so off base, I don't even know where to begin. Let me hit a few bullet points:

- He bought low, sold high.  I'm not quite sure how this is scam.
- He also stated he would buy back into Feathercoin if it dropped low enough
- Since people do that everyday with world currencies, it's all a scam?
- You mean people spread FUD about all coins on this forum, say it isn't so

Let me make sure I understand your reasoning. I buy up quite a bit of GirlScout cookies at $4 a unit and find a location to unload them at $7 a box. Based on your reasoning, the cookies themselves are the scam?

Funny comment.

Right but, What if he didn't even bought them or he's one of the feathercoin dev.
3397  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Feathercoin prices on: May 07, 2013, 09:51:42 AM

Because he probably didn't bought and sold FTC like normal trader.

IT'S A SCAM
What kind of scam? Pump and dump? Then why it's still not on bitcointalk and not trading?

At first i thought Bloocoin might be not bad because it might bring something new. But it's probably just too messy.

There's no pump or dump as it doesn't have any value yet.
No one started buying or selling bloocoin on hackforums.
