Weekly Update 1/29/14

We now have a team of engineers and a project manager working with eASIC and our other vendors to get this project completed as soon as posible.  We are expecting to add 1 to 2 Petahashs of mining in Q2.

Quote
Questions:

Have you had any sample chips at any point? If so, did they work?

No

Quote
Huh When are sample chips expected? Sample, low volume and normal production estimate dates?

We have changed the 28nm to a full custom to be more competitive.  We now have a full team, engineer and project manager working on pushing the 28nm project as fast as we can.

Quote
Huh How long do you expect board design and production to take?

We will have the board ready when we have the 55nm chips, the design will be used on the 28nm chips also.

Quote
Huh In your progress report of November 30th 2013 you stated "We have this last week shipped our first products to customers." - What product was shipped?

We shipped some accessories products to India.

Quote
What reason caused the change of plans and alteration of schedule? Were your initial timeline commitments too optimistic or was there a catastrophic failure? (if so, what?)

No, the timeline was not too optimistic and there was not a catastrophic failure.  In September with bitcoins @ 140, with competition with 400 GH/s and 500 GH/s chips our machines would not ROI, so a decision was made that we would have to refund all of our pre-orders, so we did not commit a lot of our funds to building boards, we was also trying to get enough pre-orders to make our minimum lot with eASIC.

Quote
If you are still at the design phase now, what have you been doing for the last 6-8 months?

We now have a competed design, so we are not in the design phase now.  Finding the right engineers, transferring shares from BTC-TC, legal problems with the Bitfunder shutdown, making sure that when we spun up our chip it would work, fighting all the FUD on bitcointalk, etc.

Quote
Are you in a position to be able to refund your customers every penny or have you spent some of the pre-order money? (Partially answered by Bargraphics trip report)

We have the funds to refund 100% of our pre-orders.

Quote
Is preorder money converted to BTC or kept as fiat?

Pre-Orders in fiat are keep in fiat at the moment.

Quote
Up until a week or so ago, Ken was telling people if they ordered TODAY they would receive a miner in feb/march - Is this still the case?

No,

Quote
Huh Ken mentioned additional hashrate came online in November, what machines were those?

CEX.IO

Quote
When was the new engineering firm engaged?

December

Quote
Can you give us a rough timeline of the full design and creation process, where we were set back, and what part of the process flow we are looping back over now.

Yes, we expect the 55nm chips in Q2, 28nm in Q3.  Our RTL is complete.

Quote
Is there a problem with eASIC's 28nm process?

No, but due to competitive reasons we had to move to a full custom 28nm

Quote
Did we face delays because Intellihash is being incorporated or is it because the boards weren't designed properly to begin with?

No, Intellihash did require some code to be added, but there were other reasons also that required some code to be written.

Quote
Who exactly is the Engineering Firm that was hired, and how long ago did this hiring take place?

We no long release the name of our vendors, due to some investors and customers bugging them.  We hired them in December and it took a couple of weeks.  We had to learn some lessons from the first engineers we hired.

Quote
Can you summarize your meetings with eASIC and the PCB engineers?

No, that would be under NDA with eASIC and NDA with the engineers.

Do you think by Q2 1-2 PH will be enough?
3382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin to buy or mine on: January 29, 2014, 09:58:35 PM
Ill be honest since i've been mining tons of alts.

Currently i'm mining SMC, but i'm unsure of its potential in price so, it's just a gamble.  I mined Leaf and i'll see where if its up in a few days.  'Ive sold a little of both just because the price was good, but for consistency I would go with dogecoin.  It's price is decent and it's not to hard to mine.

Ok, there is definitely something wrong with https://leaf.updamoon.com
According to CGminer, I have 4300Kh/s. After discounting 2% rejected, I am looking at 4200Kh/s. (HW:0)

I have been watching it for 1.5 day since Jan 28 morning.
Jan 28, I got total of about 420K LEAF.
Since Jan 28 midnight til Jan 29 14PM(their server time), I got 1 payout of 200k LEAF with 14 hours of ming (4300Kh/s).

Also, based on their estimation, a constant 4000Kh/s should be getting about 800k LEAF at current diff of 75.
I get the fact that yesterday the diff was like 100 towards the end of the day comparing with 75 of now.
But I am getting like 50% of the estimation, really???

difficulty shooting up

Big whales are still busying with MEOW and MOON so we actually still have time, not much but better than none. Cheesy

For this coin to reach higher value, two things must not happen before 1 Feb.

- Do not list at cryptsy
- Big whale must not mine this yet.

For the second one, it's probably waaay too late. The question is, can the coin withstand whales anyway.

Block reward should be going down soon right?

Interesting CoinTerra update via Reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/1waoos/cointerra_hot_air_update_engineering_and/

TL;DR CoinTerra is having problems.

Underperforming units with 20% increased power draw is pretty shitty

This price is too painful to watch... It seems like it'll get lower and lower... Sad

Chinese are dumping dragging bitcoin down.  Alts will get hit hard as well.

Nothing new

Ride it out or dump and try and catch the falling knife

Actually, the trolls are the reason I still have faith in this company. They put so much time and effort into trolling ActM, there just has to be a big potential for the company.

+1

It's so pathetic on the amount of time wasted.

I'm almost embarrassed for them.

With mining about to start I would of thought there would of been a small rise in share price.

Which isnt good  Undecided

edit: i currently am not a shareholder

Mined on the TAG.cryptopools for about 6-8 hours?  Made 0 with most of it Orphaned away.  Account still shows a Balance owed of 23 TAG coins, but its still unconfirmed.

Its been over 48hrs as of now.

Sorry about that, the constant tag forks have left a block stuck in the system which wont allow other blocks to confirm. ill get that fixed asap so you're coins will get confirmed. as soon as tag's hard fork comes into action all these issues should stop

everything is now almost orphaned  Huh
